방사선 재학생 전공교과목 학습에서 인터넷 활용 실태 (Actual Use of Internet in Curriculum Study of Students in Radiology)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze questionnaires of 161 college students attending radiology departments in order to investigate the actual condition of internet use of radiology students. As a result, 95% of college students using the Internet showed 5.8% of general knowledge, 56.9% of radiation major, and 45.8% of general education. In the field of Internet use, basic medicine was 71.2%, anatomy 59.5% and physiology 51.6%. Radiation theory was 39.9% in radiation physics, 31.4% in radiation biology, and 18.3% in radiation management. The radiological applications were followed by radiography and radiography in order of 31.4% and 20.3%, respectively. The radiological imaging was 45.8%, MRI was 37.9%, CT was 37.3%, ultrasound was 24.2%, And radiation nuclear medicine 25.5%. The results of the descriptive statistics of the satisfaction of the contents using the Internet media showed that the overall satisfaction was below 2.5 Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a program with high accessibility to provide various opportunities for internet-based opportunities to increase the academic achievement value of major subjects through the internet and to solve the difficulties in the major subject.

수도권 지역의 초음파 프로브의 미생물 오염도와 소독에 관한 연구 (A Study on Microbial Contamination and Disinfection of Ultrasonic Probe in Metropolitan Area)

  • There was a shortage of research reports on sterilization criterion and contamination of ultrasonic probes. Therefore, in this study, we were going to provide a basic study to measure the level of microbial contamination in ultrasonic probes and to investigate the radiographer's awareness of infection. After the scan, samples were collected from the rubber part of the probe by opening a sterile swab (Transport Medium AM608-1S) for medical bacteria collection with the remaining gel removed with a paper towel. Also, the collected samples of bacteria were grown for seven days and then the laboratory was analyzed. Among the total 29 types of microorganisms, Micrococcus luteus 21(26%), Moraxella species 16(20%), Coagulase negative staphylococcus 8(10%), Bacillus species 5(7%), Bicillus circulans 3(5%), Acinetobacter lwoffii 2(2%), and 1 other Candida parapsilosis (1%) a number of bacteria and fungus, was detected. In a disinfectant experiment using LuciPac Pen on the Lumitester PD-30s, we cultured the rubber part of the probe two to three times to measure the bacteria. Bacteria decreased to 97% with Aquanax (alkaline reduced water 100%), 99% with Klarion wash (0.01% sodium hydroxide), 94% with Klarion disinfection (0.01% nitrous acid water), Sterilization was best with Klarion wash (0.01% sodium hydroxide). Therefore, guidelines for cleaning and disinfection of ultrasonic probes was required, and further development of probe-only disinfectants is required.

Ion chromatographic determination of chlorite and chlorate in chlorinated food using a hydroxide eluent

  • This study was conducted to develop an analytical technique for determination of chlorite and chlorate concentrations in fresh-cut food and dried fish products by an ion chromatography/conductivity detection method using a hydroxide mobile phase. Deionized water was added to homogenized samples, which were then extracted by ultrasound extraction and centrifuged at high speed (8,500 rpm). Subsequently, a Sep-Pak tC18 cartridge was used to purify the supernatant. Chlorite and chlorate ions were separated using 20 mM KOH solution as the mobile phase and Dionex IonPac AS27 column as the stationary phase. Ethylenediamine was used as sample preservative and dibromoacetate was added to adjust for the disparity in extraction efficiencies between the food samples. The method detection limit) for chlorite and chlorate were estimated to be 0.2 mg/kg and 0.1 mg/kg, respectively, and the coefficient of determination ($r^2$) that denotes the linearity of their calibration curves were correspondingly measured to be 0.9973 and 0.9987. The recovery rate for each ion was 92.1 % and 96.3 %, with relative standard deviations of 7.47 % and 6.18 %, respectively. Although neither chlorite nor chlorate was detected in the food samples, the analytical technique developed in this study may potentially be used in the analysis of disinfected food products.

종합병원 진단용방사선장비의 고장유형 분석 (Studies on Failure Kind Analysis of the Radiologic Medical Equipment in General Hospital)

  • This paper included a data analysis of the unit of medical devices using mainternance recording card that had medical devices of unit failure mode, hospital of failure mode and MTBF. The results of the analysis were as follows : 1. Medical devices of unit failure mode was the highest in QC/PM such A hospital as 33.9%, B hospital 30.9%, C hospital 30.3%, second degree was the Electrical and Electronic failure such A hospital as 23.5%, B hospital 25.3%, C hospital 28%, third degree was mechanical failure such A hospital as 19.5%, B hospital 22.5%, C hospital 25.4%. 2. Hospital of failure mode was the highest in Mobile X-ray device(A hospital 62.5%, B hospital 69.5%, C hospital 37.4%), and was the lowest in Sono devices(A hospital 16.76%, B hospital 8.4%, C hospital 7%). 3. Mean time between failures(MTBT) was the highest in SONO devices and was the lowest in Mobile X-ray devices which have 200 - 400 failure hours. 4. Anverage failure ratio was the highest in Mobile X-ray devices(A hospital 31.3%, B hospital 34.8%, C hospital 18.7%), and was the lowest in Sono(Ultrasound) devices (A hospital 8.4%, B hospital 4.2%, C hospital 3.5%). 5. Failure ratio results of medical devices according to QC/PM part of unit failure mode were as follows ; A hospital was the highest part of QC/PM (50%) in Mamo X-ray device and was the lowest part of QC/PM(26.4%) in Castro X-ray. B hospital was the highest part of QC/PM(56%) in Mobile X-ray device, and the lowest part of QC/PM(12%) in Gastro X-ray. C hospital was the highest part of QC/PM(60%) in R/F X-ray device, and the lowest a part of QC/PM(21%) in Universal X-ray. It was found that the units responsible for most failure decreased by systematic management. We made the preventive maintenance schedule focusing on adjustement of operating and dust removal.

초음파 팬텀 내 모노필라멘트의 해상력 개선에 대한 연구 (Improvement on resolution of mono-filament wire)

  • 초음파 Q/A팬텀은 조직등가물질(TMM)과 표적물질로 구성한다. 표적물질은 데드존, 거리분해능, 측분해능, 수직과 수평거리 정확성 등을 평가하는 모노필라멘트로 TMM과 조화를 이뤄 선명하게 나타나야 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 금속성 모노필라멘트와 나일론 모노필라멘트를 이용하여 TMM 내에서 최적의 해상력을 표현할 수 있는 선 표적물질을 얻기 위해 탈기수와 C15 g TMM을 합성하여 모노필라멘트를 설치하고 SONOACE 6000C $3.5{\sim}7.5\;MHz$를 주사하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 0.1 mm 금속성 모노필라멘트와 0.12 mm, 180데너아 나일론 모노필라멘트에서 점상의 선명한 에코양상을 관찰할 수 있었다. 2. 0.2 mm 금속성과 나일론 모노필라멘트는 다중반사에 의한 혜성꼬리음영이 관찰되었다. 3. 데드존과 거리분해능은 0.1 mm 나일론 모노필라멘트가 유용한 것으로 나타났다. 4. 나일론 모노필라멘트는 금속성 모노필라멘트에 비해 견고성과 수축성이 우수하여 팬텀제작에 유리한 것으로 나타났다. 5. TMM의 경도 차가 모노필라멘트의 에코 양상에 많이 관여하지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

Assessing the Potential of Thermal Imaging in Recognition of Breast Cancer

  • Background: Breast cancer is a common disorder in women, constituting one of the main causes of death all over the world. The purpose of this study was to determine the diagnostic value of the breast tissue diseases by the help of thermography. Materials and Methods: In this paper, we applied non-contact infrared camera, INFREC R500 for evaluating the capabilities of thermography. The study was conducted on 60 patients suspected of breast disease, who were referred to Imam Khomeini Imaging Center. Information obtained from the questionnaires and clinical examinations along with the obtained diagnostic results from ultrasound images, biopsies and thermography, were analyzed. The results indicated that the use of thermography as well as the asymmetry technique is useful in identifying hypoechoic as well as cystic masses. It should be noted that the patient should not suffer from breast discharge. Results: The accuracy of asymmetry technique identification is respectively 91/89% and 92/30%. Also the accuracy of the exact location of identification is on the 61/53% and 75%. The approach also proved effective in identifying heterogeneous lesions, fibroadenomas, and intraductal masses, but not ISO-echoes and calcified masses. Conclusions: According to the results of the investigation, thermography may be useful in the initial screening and supplementation of diagnostic procedures due to its safety (its non-radiation properties), low cost and the good recognition of breast tissue disease.

인지 장애 진단·평가·분석을 위한 생체신호 장비 개발에 대한 수요조사: 한방신경정신과학회 회원들을 대상으로 (Survey for Needs of Bio-Signal Devices for the Diagnosis, Assessment, or Analysis of Neurocognitive Disorder in Korean Society of Oriental Neuropsychiatry)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the needs of bio-signal devices for the diagnosis, assessment, and analysis of neurocognitive disorder in Korean medicine (KM) hospitals and clinics. Methods: A questionnaire was developed to survey the current status of medical device use, and diagnosis and interventions for patients with cognitive disorders in KM hospitals and clinics. November 11~December 2, 2019, 114 responses (71.9% completed) were collected by internet-based questionnaires from the members of the Korean society of Oriental Neuropsychiatry. Results: The clinical requests were in the descending order of hematology analyzer, ultrasound imaging system, and electroencephalography among the 15 most commonly used devices of which research would support for their clinical usability. The biosignal-based devices showed the highest research demands for patients with mild cognitive impairment rather than more severe stages of cognitive impairment. Prevention rather than diagnosis, or several treatment regimens was the strongest clinical area of the KM for patients with neurodegenerative cognitive impairment. Many responded that five to 10 minutes of test duration and 20,000 won to 30,000 won of cost would be appropriated for a new device to be developed. Conclusions: There were strong demands for the development of bio-signal devices for neurocognitive disorders among the KM doctors. Specifically, it showed high needs for the technology that can be used in the prevention area of cognitive disorders. Additionally, new medical devices to assess cognitive functions and to obtain KM pattern-related information were the high needs.

Intra- and inter-rater reliability of muscle thickness measurement of the tibialis anterior using different inward pressures

  • Objective: This reliability study examined the effects of applying varying induced inward pressures using a transducer placed at 0° neutral ankle position (NEU) and 15° ankle dorsiflexion (DF) on tibialis anterior (TA) muscle thickness using a custom-made device with a force indicator during rehabilitative ultrasound imaging. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Twenty-four healthy subjects were recruited in this study. Two examiners measured the muscle thickness of the TA at 0° NEU and 15° DF in 3 conditions of inward pressures (1.0 N, 2.0 N, and 4.0 N) using a custom-made holder. The muscle thickness was measured three times for each of the conditions arranged in random order. For intra- and inter-rater reliability, the intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) with 95% confidence intervals, standard error of measurement, minimal detectable change, and coefficient of variation were analyzed. One-way repeated measures analysis of variance was conducted for investigating changes of TA muscle thickness according to the inward pressures of the transducers. Results: The intra-rater reliability of TA muscle thickness measurement was excellent (ICC3,1: 0.92-0.96) for all conditions (at both ankle joint angles per varying inward pressure). Likewise, the inter-rater reliability of TA muscle thickness measurement was excellent (ICC2,1: 0.89-0.97) under same conditions. The mean of TA thickness showed the trend of decreasing significantly with increased inward pressures at all ankle joint angles (p<0.05). Conclusions: Use of this custom-made device with a force indicator is useful to accomplish the high intra- and inter-rater reliability of TA muscle thickness measurement at both ankle joint angles in reducing the measurement error.

분만방법 유형이 골반바닥근육 기능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pelvic Floor Muscle Function on Mode of Delivery)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate of the effects of the mode of delivery on pelvic floor muscle function by examining bladder base movement and urinary incontinence. Methods: This study was conducted on 100 females who had delivered in the previous 3-8 months. There were 2 groups: 56 vaginal deliveries and 44 cesarean section deliveries. Prior to the study, a survey was conducted on the subjects' general status, delivery mode, urinary incontinence, and physical activity. The groups could not be blinded due to scar tissue from the operations. The function of the pelvic floor muscle was observed with the bladder base movement using transabdominal ultrasound during pelvic floor contraction. To objectify and measure the subjective symptoms of subjects suffering from urinary incontinence, an incontinence quality of life (I-QoL) test was administered. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using SPSS version 20.0. An independent t-test was used to assess the statistical significance of pelvic floor muscle function between the 2 groups after delivery. Results: The movement of the bladder base in the pelvic floor muscle function was decreased in the vaginal delivery group, but the difference was not significant. Urinary incontinence was significantly increased in the vaginal delivery group. Conclusion: The function of the pelvic floor muscles was better in the cesarean section group and the incidence of urinary incontinence was relatively low in this group. Therefore, vaginal delivery requires more efforts to restore the function of the pelvic floor muscles than cesarean delivery.

음향 매질의 추가질량 효과를 고려한 광음향 영상용 초소형 압전 기반 초음파 트랜스듀서의 개발 (Development of a Piezoelectric Micro-machined Ultrasonic Transducer for Photoacoustic Imaging that Accounts for the Added Mass Effect of the Acoustic Medium)

  • Typically, photoacoustic images are obtained in water or gelatin because the impedance of these mediums is similar to that of the human body. However, these acoustic mediums can have an additional mass effect that changes the resonance frequency of the transducer. The acoustic radiation impedance in air is negligible because it is very small compared to that of the transducer. However, the high acoustic impedance of mediums such as the human body and water is quite large compared to that of air, making it difficult to ignore. Specifically, in a case where the equivalent mass is very small, such as with a micro-machined ultrasound transducer, the additional mass effects of the acoustic medium should be considered for an accurate resonance frequency design. In this study, a piezoelectric micro-machined ultrasonic transducer (pMUT) was designed to have a resonance frequency of 10 MHz in the acoustic medium of water, which has similar impedance as the human body. At that time, the resonance frequency of the pMUT in air was calculated at 15.2 MHz. When measuring the center displacement of the manufactured pMUT using a laser vibrometer, the resonance frequencies were measured as 14.3-15.1 MHz, which is consistent with the finite element method (FEM) simulation results. Finally, photoacoustic images of human hair samples were successfully obtained using the fabricated pMUT.
