  • In this paper, the compensation of interfacial scatter due to adhesive layer and adherend thickness ratio variation was applied to improve measuring precision by calculating ultrasonic attenuation coefficient in the Al/Epoxy dissimilar bonded components. The optimum condition of theoretical value and experimental measuring accuracy by the ultrasonic method in the Al/Epoxy dissimilar bonded components have been investigated. From the experimental results, we proposed a measurement method of the interfacial crack lengths by the ultrasonic attenuation coefficient and discussed it.

  • In this paper, the compensation of ultrasonic scattering on interface crack depending on thickness variations of A1/Epoxy bonded dissimilar components was applied to improve measuring accuracy by using ultrasonic attenuation coefficient. The optimum conditions of theoretical value and experimental measuring accuracy by the ultrasonic method in A1/Epoxy bonded dissimilar components have been investigated. From the experimental results, the measurement method of interfacial crack lengths by using ultrasonic attenuation coefficient was proposed and discussed. After the ultrasonic scattering compensation depending on thickness variations of bonded dissimilar components was carried out, the measuring accuracy of interfacial crack length was improved by 5%.

Probabilistic-based damage identification based on error functions with an autofocusing feature

  • This study presents probabilistic-based damage identification technique for highlighting damage in metallic structures. This technique utilizes distributed piezoelectric transducers to generate and monitor the ultrasonic Lamb wave with narrowband frequency. Diagnostic signals were used to define the scatter signals of different paths. The energy of scatter signals till different times were calculated by taking root mean square of the scatter signals. For each pair of parallel paths an error function based on the energy of scatter signals is introduced. The resultant error function then is used to estimate the probability of the presence of damage in the monitoring area. The presented method with an autofocusing feature is applied to aluminum plates for method verification. The results identified using both simulation and experimental Lamb wave signals at different central frequencies agreed well with the actual situations, demonstrating the potential of the presented algorithm for identification of damage in metallic structures. An obvious merit of the presented technique is that in addition to damages located inside the region between transducers; those who are outside this region can also be monitored without any interpretation of signals. This novelty qualifies this method for online structural health monitoring.

  • 본 연구는 유도초음파를 기반으로 한 구조물 건전성 모니터링 알고리즘 검증에 관한 것이다. 유도초음파 중 램파를 기반으로 하는 능동검사시스템을 사용하였으며 본 알고리즘의 적용에 관한 기초연구로서 강판에 표면결함인 원형노치를 감지하는 실험을 수행하였다. Pitch-catch방법으로 강판 표면 원형노치에 대한 손상 탐상을 수행하여 손상전후의 $S_0$모드를 비교함으로써 손상 특성을 파악하며 손상전후 신호의 수학적 차에 의해 구한 산란램파(scatter)에 의해 손상을 평가할 수 있다. 손상전후 신호의 $S_0$모드 램파를 분석하기 위해서 연속 가보 웨이블릿 변환을 사용하여 전파시간을 구할 수 있다. 본 알고리즘은 손상모니터링 다각형과 Pitch-catch 방법을 기초로 하며 손상 위치표정값들의 평균과 표준편차에 의해 손상위치표정 및 크기를 정확히 추정 가능함이 검증되었다.

The storage digital oscilloscope including FFT function and enveloped waveform generator is used and the signal pattern recognition procedure is made up the digital signal processing, feature extraction, feature selection and classifier design. It is composed with and discussed using the distance classifier that is based on euclidean distance the empirical Bayesian classifier. feature extraction is performed using the class-mean scatter criteria. The signal pattern classification method is applied to the signal pattern recognition of natural flaws.

수소취화된 스테인리스강 316L의 VHCF(Very High Cycle Fatigue) 피로특성과 UNSM 효과에 관한 연구 (Study on VHCF Fatigue Behaviors and UNSM Effects of Hydrogen Attacked STS 316L)

  • 본 연구는 실온에서 미처리재와 UNSM처리재, 수소취화재(100 bar, $300^{\circ}C$에서 120 h) 및 이 수소취화재의 UNSM처리재의 스테인리스강 316L 시험편의 재료특성파악을 위한 실험을 실시하였다. 여기서 수소취화재는 기존의 미처리재의 S-N곡선보다 피로강도가 약간 감소하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 수소취화효과는 적게 나타났다. 미처리재에 비해서 UNSM처리재의 피로한도는 약 43.8 % 상승하였고, 수소취화재의 UNSM처리재는 수소취화재보다 약 57.1 % 상승하는 경향을 나타내었다. EBSD에 의한 IQ, IPF 및 KAM 맵에서 UNSM처리 후, 이 처리의 영향을 받는 나노 입자 표면층의 두께는 약 $152{\mu}m$이다. 그러나 세 가지 맵에서 수소취화의 깊이 영향을 정량적으로 평가할 수 없었다. 시험편상에서 발생하는 표면균열은 수소취화의 영향으로 평균입경($35{\mu}m$)보다 작은 균열의 비율이 약 90 %를 차지하였다.
