Ultraviolet-emissive BaSiO3:Ce3+ Phosphor for VUV Excimer Lamp

  • Ultraviolet (UVA)-emissive BaSiO3:Ce3+ phosphor was astonishingly reproducible by vacuum-sintering at a high temperature through a simple solid-state reaction method. It was conveniently formed in BaSiO3 phases. The compound showed the UVA emission and the UV-VUV excitation due to 5d-4f transitions from Ce3+ ions: emission peak at 380 nm with a 56 nm width. Its temperature dependence and vacuum UV excitability were examined for practical application as an excimer discharge lamp, which showed the high thermal stability (80% at 100℃) and the strong VUV excitations at 145 nm and 172 nm.

UVA광원에 의한 Photochromic lens의 색비율 제어에 관한 연구 (A study of transmittance and color change of various photochromic lenses by an UVA lamp)

  • 본 연구에서는 플라스틱제와 유리제의 재질에 따른 박막형(coated type)과 벌크형(bulk type) 조광렌즈의 다양한 온도($6^{\circ}C$, $12^{\circ}C$, $28^{\circ}C$)에서 UVA광원에 대한 광변색성 및 color의 전이도를 측정하였다. 박막형 조광렌즈(Tbr, TMs)는 온도에 상관없이 벌크형 렌즈보다 더 높은 포화치(saturated value)를 보였으며, 유리계 조광렌즈의 경우에는 smoke색상의 렌즈가 brwon색상보다 더 빠른 darkening속도를 보였다. 또한 transmittance와 color가 ANSI Z80.3 규정에의 부합 여부에서는 온도에 상관없이 교통 신호등 항목을 pass하였으며, 박막형 조광렌즈를 제외한 플라스틱제 렌즈와 유리제 조광렌즈는 포화치가 cosmetic용으로 구분되었고, 박막형인 Tbr과 TMs는 $6^{\circ}C$$12^{\circ}C$의 포화치는 general용이었지만, $28^{\circ}C$에서는 cosmetic용이었다. darkening은 온도가 낮아짐에 따라 효과적이었지만, 반면에 fading은 온도가 높아지면서 효과적이었다.

자외선 보호성분이 포함된 헤어오일의 자외선에 대한 모발 보호성능 연구 (UV Protection Effect of Hair Treated with Hair Oils Containing UV Protective Substances)

  • This research investigated the protective effect on hair for 3 commercial hair oil products containing UV filters upon UVA and UVB irradiation. Hair tresses each weighing 2 g were prepared from black virgin hair. Hair tresses treated with 0.5 g of hair oil were irradiated by UVA (365 nm) and UVB (302 nm) lamp for up to 600 hours. Color of hair was measured using a spectrocolorimeter, tensile strength and elongation of hair were measured using a biological tensile tester, surface morphology was examined using a scanning electron microscope. Experimental results were analyzed using SPSS statistical software. Hair color and tensile strength were both affected by UVA and UVB irradiation. Significant differences in the color and tensile strength were observed between untreated hair and hair treated with hair oils. Good UV protective effect observed in Oil 2 and Oil 3 was attributable to the type and the combination of UV filters contained in the products.

CPC (Compound Parabolic Collector) 내 이산화티탄을 이용한 비스페놀 A (Bisphenol A)의 분해에 관한 연구 (Study of Degradation of Bisphenol A with $TiO_2$ Powder in CPC System)

  • 본 연구는 CPC 시스템 내에서 $Tio_2$ 슬러리와 UVA 광촉매 반응을 이용한 내분비계장애물질의 하나인 Bisphenol A(BPA)의 분해와 무기화에 대한 연구이다. 실험 영향인자로는 초기농도, 촉매량, UVA 램프 파워, 온도를 고려하였고, 초기농도는 5, 10, 20 mg/L, 촉매량은 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 g/L, UV 램프는 40, 80, 120 W, 온도는 10, 20, 30 로 조절하여 실험하였다. 초기농도 가 5 mg/L일 때 BPA는 반응시간 10분에서 80%이상이 분해되었고, 1시간 이후 10 mg/L에서는 97%, 20 mg/L에서는 49%가 분해되었다. $Tio_2$ 주입량이 0.1, 0.5 g/L일 때 BPA 분해는 비슷한 경향을 보였으며, 1시간 이후 약 70%가 분해되었으며, 1 g/L에서는 30분 이후에는 80%이상이 분해되었다. 이것은 촉매량이 증가할수록 오염물질과 반응하는 활성점이 증가하여, 광촉 매 반응 또한 증가하기 때문이라 판단된다. UV 램프가 120W일 때 반응시간 10분에서 BPA는 약 60% 이상 급격히 분해 되었다. 온도에 따른 분해정도를 알아보기 위해 온도를 조절하며 수행하였고, 온도에 따른 영향은 크지 않았다. 10 에서는 1시간 이후 46% 분해되었으며, 20에서 67%, 30에서는 69% 분해되었다.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop functional and environment-friendly polyester fabric by irradiating Ultra-Violet, which was produced by the low-pressure mercury lamp. UV irradiation was conducted with various treatment times and distances. Also, pretreatments of solvents and photoinitiator were used to improve the surface modification effects. The effects of UV irradiation on the moisture regain were found to increase gradually with increase of UV treatment time and decrease of treatment distance. Compared the effects of UVC and UVA, UVC was more effective than UVA. Moisture regain and wicking of PET was increased after UV treatment in our experimental condition. And owing to increasing of moisture regain, static charge was decreased. Pretreatment of solvents such as methanol, ethyl ether and addition of photoinitiator such as Benzophenone accelerated surface modification. The moisture regain was increased but wicking was decreased with pretreatment and addition of photoinitiatior. Therefore it is considered as inappropriate f3r clothing because of wicking effects. Yellowness, tensile strength and elasticity slightly decreased after UV irradiation.

오배자의 항 주름 효과 및 미백 효과에 미치는 실험적 연구 (The Anti-wrinkle Effects and Whitening Effects of Galla Rhois)

  • Recently, the demands for the effective and safe depigmentating and anti-aging agents of the skin have increased due to the medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic reasons. The aim of this study is to search Galla Rhois (GR) inhibitory activity against aging process of skin in vitro. GR was screened for their inhibitory activity against elastase. GR (final concentration 1 mg/ml) appeared over 40% of inhibition of elastase activity. So we investigated anti wrinkle effects of GR look through MMP-1 inhibition activity. Also Extracts of GR showed higher anti-tyrosinase activity than arbutin (final concentration 1 mg/ml). These results suggest that GR could be potential sources of anti-aging and whitening effects for the skin. Objective : Galla Rhois extracts, Elastase (pancreatic from porcine pancreas), N-Succinyl-(Ala)3-p-nitroanilide, Ursolic acid, mushroom tyrosinase, L-tyrosine, arbutin, Amicon Ultra, Hand Hold UV lamp, MMP-1 primary antibody, MMP-1 secondary antibody Result : 1. GR appeared over 40% of elastase inhibitory activity. 2. GR had MMP-1 inhibition activity. 3. GR showed higher anti-tyrosinase activity than arbutin. Conclusion : According to above results, it is supposed that Galla Rhois could be strong potential sources of anti-aging and whitening effects for the skin.

피혁 폐기물을 재활용한 재생가죽의 내노화특성 연구 (A Study on Anti-Aging Properties of Recycled Leather Using Shaving Scrap by Applying Antioxidant)

  • In this study, we investigated the durability properties of the recycled leather using shaving scrap with antioxidant. Recycled leather sheets were manufactured by mixing shaving scrap and NB latex as a binder. HALS(Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer) and UVA(UV absorbers) were used as antioxidant. Mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength, elongation, tear strength and abrasion resistance were measured. Light aging resistance was evaluated using UV lamp and the degree of discoloration of the recycled leather sheets using a gray scale. In addition, to evaluate heat aging and UV aging, the degree of discoloration of the recycled leather sheets over time was measured using colorimeter. Washing fastness was evaluated on the degree of dyeing of recycled leather sheets for six type of multi-fiber woven fabrics (Acetate, Cotton, Nylon-66, Polyester, Acryl, Wool). To determine whether hazardous substances were detected in recycled leather sheets, the contents of arylamine and Cr 6+ were evaluated. As a result, when used in combination with antioxidant, the heat aging and light aging of recycled leather were improved and hazardous substance were not detected.
