Silver polymer electrolytes are very promising membrane materials for the separation of olefin/paraffn mixtures. Olefin molecules are known to be transported through reversible complex formation with silver ions entrapped iii polymer matrix. However, they have poor long-term stability, which is very important fur the industrial application; the selectivity through the membrane decreases gradually with time mostly due to the reduction of silver ions ($Ag^+$) into silver nanoparticles ($Ag^0$). In this study, the stability of silver polymer electrolyte was investigated for poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) and $AgBF_4$ system containing a surfactant, i.e. $C_{18}H_{35}(OCH_2CH_2)_{20}OH$ (Brij98) as a stabilizer. The reduction behavior of silver ions to silver nanoparticles in PVP was also investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and UV-visible spectroscopy. It was found that the growth of silver nanoparticles was slower and selectivity of polymer electrolyte for propylene in propylene/propane was maintained longer time when Brij98 was added as a stabilizer.
Natural indigo colorants were prepared by extraction of Polygonum tinctorium which was harvested just in the blooming season(in the late of July). The components were analyzed by TLC and HPLC, and its structures were analyzed by FT-IR, EI-mass. The results obtained are summarized as follows; The natural indigo powder was dissolved in DMSO and developed in eluent, $CHCI_3/CH_3CN$(8.5:1.5 v/v) by means of TLC for its quality analysis. It was segregated into indirubin as a red colour and indigo as a blue colour. In case of HPLC analysis,. FT-IR spectrum of indirubin showed a peak for NH residue between 3200 and $3300cm^{-1}$. $^1H-NMR$ spectrum for indigo displayed AA'BB' spin system caused by indole structure between 6.5 and 7.7ppm of H4, 5, 6 and 7, and -NH proton for indirubin showed an singlet between 10.88 and 11.0ppm. EI-mass spectrum of indigo and indirubin both disclosed their molecular size as 262 and it implies that these two substances are isomer.

Production of eco-friendly and biologically harmless materials is strongly required in all industries. In particular, reducing volatile organic compounds in coating processes is extremely important to secure worker's safety. During recent two decades, extensive research works on water-borne polyurethane dispersion (PUD) have been continuously developed as an alternative to solvent-borne polyurethane. However, PUD was shown inferior mechanical properties to the organic solvent-borne polyurethane due to a limit to the molecular weight increase, which resulted in the limit of applications. To overcome this drawback, several approaches have been examined such as polymer blends and thermal/radiation induced crosslinking. Among these methods, the radiation curing system was suitable for industrialization because of the high crosslinking density and fast curing speed. In this study, we overcame the drawback for PUD via introducing benzophenone radiation curable units to PUD. We synthesized PUD films which possessed good dispersion in water for 30 days, increased Tg and Td more than $5^{\circ}C$ after UV curing film as well as improved young's modulus more than double.
This study was carried out to identify of C3G (cyanidin-3-glucoside) from mulberry fruits and quantify with different varieties. C3G of mulberry fruits was extracted with 1% HCl-MeOH and purified with open column (5${\times}$90cm) which filled with Amberlite IRC-50 ion exchange resin. The $\lambda$max ranges of the purified C3G on UV/vis spectrum were 516nm and 280nm. Also, molecular weight of C3G from mulberry fruits by LC-Mass was determined as 449. From above results, we concluded that anthocyanin pigment of mulberry fruits was C3G only. The cyanidin-3-glucoside (C3G) was separated and quantified by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) system using a Nova-Pack C$\_$18/ column. Mean content of the 35 tested accessions was 0.89%. Also fruity characteristics as well as C3G content to select the desirable mulberry varieties for the production of fruit were researched and analyzed. We selected three suitable varieties such as 'Susungppong', 'Kangsun', and 'Jeolgokchosaeng(Chungpuk)'.

Recently, mobile healthcare services have attracted significant attention because of the emerging development and supply of diverse wearable devices. Smartwatches and health bands are the most common type of mobile-based wearable devices and their market size is increasing considerably. However, simple value comparisons based on accumulated data have revealed certain problems, such as the standardized nature of health management and the lack of personalized health management service models. The convergence of information technology (IT) and biotechnology (BT) has shifted the medical paradigm from continuous health management and disease prevention to the development of a system that can be used to provide ground-based medical services regardless of the user's location. Moreover, the IT-BT convergence has necessitated the development of lifestyle improvement models and services that utilize big data analysis and machine learning to provide mobile healthcare-based personal health management and disease prevention information. Users' health data, which are specific as they change over time, are collected by different means according to the users' lifestyle and surrounding circumstances. In this paper, we propose a prediction model of user physical activity that uses data characteristics-based long short-term memory (DC-LSTM) recurrent neural networks (RNNs). To provide personalized services, the characteristics and surrounding circumstances of data collectable from mobile host devices were considered in the selection of variables for the model. The data characteristics considered were ease of collection, which represents whether or not variables are collectable, and frequency of occurrence, which represents whether or not changes made to input values constitute significant variables in terms of activity. The variables selected for providing personalized services were activity, weather, temperature, mean daily temperature, humidity, UV, fine dust, asthma and lung disease probability index, skin disease probability index, cadence, travel distance, mean heart rate, and sleep hours. The selected variables were classified according to the data characteristics. To predict activity, an LSTM RNN was built that uses the classified variables as input data and learns the dynamic characteristics of time series data. LSTM RNNs resolve the vanishing gradient problem that occurs in existing RNNs. They are classified into three different types according to data characteristics and constructed through connections among the LSTMs. The constructed neural network learns training data and predicts user activity. To evaluate the proposed model, the root mean square error (RMSE) was used in the performance evaluation of the user physical activity prediction method for which an autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model, a convolutional neural network (CNN), and an RNN were used. The results show that the proposed DC-LSTM RNN method yields an excellent mean RMSE value of 0.616. The proposed method is used for predicting significant activity considering the surrounding circumstances and user status utilizing the existing standardized activity prediction services. It can also be used to predict user physical activity and provide personalized healthcare based on the data collectable from mobile host devices.

Purpose: To evaluate 2D and 3D of occulsal, mesial-occlusal and mesial-occlusal-distal cavity of composite resin inlay. Methods: Abutment tooth 16, 36 of FDI system was selected for the study. Inlay prostheses classified as occlusal cavity (OC group), mesial-occlusal (MOC) and mesial-occlusal-distal cavity (MODC) were prepared using composite resin. Composite resin was injected with composite resin in prepared tooth cavity and then photopolymerized with UV light. Additional thermal polymerization was performed. Marginal gap of composite resin inlays were measured by digital microscope(x160) with silicone replica technique. The data was analyzed from statistical software for Kruskal-Wallis test (${\alpha}=0.05$). 3-dimensional analysis was analyzed through superimposition method. Results: The smallest 2D marginal fit measure of the three groups was $47.0{\pm}21.6{\mu}m$ in the MOC group. The largest 2D marginal was $69.1{\pm}33.8{\mu}m$ in the MODC group. In the trueness of the three groups, the most accurate figure was $14.4{\pm}2.3{\mu}m$ for the MODC group. In Precision, the most accurate figure was $14.5{\pm}4.3{\mu}m$ for the MODC group. Conclusion : In this study, 2D marginal fit of OC, MOC, and MODC cavities fabricated with composite resin was applicable to all clinical applications. In the 3D inner surface accuracy evaluation, the MODC group showed the accuracy results.
Recently, the installation capacity of PV (photovoltaic) systems has been increasing not only field installation but also floating PV, farm land, BIPV/BAPV. For this reason, the new design and materials of PV module are needed. In particular, in order to apply a PV system to a building, lightweight of the PV module is essential. PV modules made of generally used texturing glass are excellent in output and reliability, but there is a limit to the weight that can be reduced. For the lightweight of the PV module, it necessary to use a film instead of a glass. However, the application of film rather than a glass may cause various problems such as decrease in photocurrent by decrease in transmittance and a increase of CTM (cell to module) loss, a degradation of the reliability, and so on. In this paper, PV modules using Ultra barrier film, which is recently a lot of interest as a substitute for a glass, its characteristic analysis and reliability test were conducted. The transmittance and UV characteristics of each material were verified, and the output of the fabricated 1 cell PV module was measured. In addition, 24 cell PV modules were fabricated at the lab-scale and its reliability tests were conducted. As a result of the experiment, the reliability characteristics of the ultra barrier film PV module were excellent, and it was confirmed that it could be used as the front material of the PV module instead of glass
A photo-crosslinked anion exchange membrane (AEM) based on quaternary-aminated polyacrylates was developed for reverse electrodialysis (RED). Although reverse electrodialysis is a clean and renewable energy generation system, the low power output and high membrane cost are serious obstacles to its commercialization. Cross-linked AEMs without any polymer supporters were fabricated through photo-crosslinking between polymer-typed acrylates with anion conducting groups, in particular, polymer-typed acrylates were synthesized based on engineering plastic with outstanding mechanical and chemical property. The fabricated membranes showed outstanding physical, chemical, and electrochemical properties. The area resistance of the fabricated membranes (CQAPPOA-20, CQAPPOA-35, and CQAPPOA-50) were ~50% lower than that of AMV (2.6 Ω cm2). Moreover, the transport number of CQAPPOA-35 wase comparable to that of AMV, despite the thin thickness (40 ㎛) of the fabricated membranes. The RED stack with the CQAPPOA-35 membrane provided an excellent maximum power density of 2.327 W m-2 at a flow rate of 100 mL min-1, which is 15% higher than that (2.026 W m-2) of the RED stack with the AMV membrane. Considering easy fabrication process by UV photo-crosslinking and outstanding RED stack properties, the CQAPPOA-35 membrane is a promising candidate for REDs.
Background: Ginsenoside Rg1 (Rg1) is one of the main active components in Chinese medicines, Panax ginseng and Panax notoginseng. Research has shown that Rg1 has a protective effect on the cardiovascular system, including anti-myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, anti-apoptosis, and promotion of myocardial angiogenesis, suggesting it a potential cardiovascular agent. However, the protective mechanism involved is still not fully understood. Methods: Based on network pharmacology, ligand-based protein docking, proteomics, Western blot, protein recombination and spectroscopic analysis (UV-Vis and fluorescence spectra) techniques, potential targets and pathways for Rg1 against myocardial ischemia (MI) were screened and explored. Results: An important target set containing 19 proteins was constructed. Two target proteins with more favorable binding activity for Rg1 against MI were further identified by molecular docking, including mitogen-activated protein kinase 1 (MAPK1) and adenosine kinase (ADK). Meanwhile, Rg1 intervention on H9c2 cells injured by H2O2 showed an inhibitory oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) pathway. The inhibition of Rg1 on MAPK1 and OXPHOS pathway was confirmed by Western blot assay. By protein recombination and spectroscopic analysis, the binding reaction between ADK and Rg1 was also evaluated. Conclusion: Rg1 can effectively alleviate cardiomyocytes oxidative stress injury via targeting MAPK1 and ADK, and inhibiting oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) pathway. The present study provides scientific basis for the clinical application of the natural active ingredient, Rg1, and also gives rise to a methodological reference to the searching of action targets and pathways of other natural active ingredients.
In this experiment the effect of supplemental lighting on the growth and yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L. 'Fresh') plants during low radiation period of winter season were investigated in glasshouses using common high-pressure sodium (HPS) lamps and newly developed plasma lighting system (PLS) lamps. Plants grown without supplemental lighting were considered as a control. Supplemental lighting was provided from November 20th, 2015 to March 15th, 2016 to ensure 14-hour photoperiod (natural+supplemental light), also lamps were operated automatically when the outside sun radiation levels were less than $100W{\cdot}m^{-2}$. Spectral analysis showed that HPS lamp had a discrete spectrum, lacked of the radiation in the 400-550 nm wave band (blue-green light), but had a high output in the orange-red region (550-650 nm). A higher red light output resulted in an increased red to far-red (R/FR) ratio in HPS lamp. PLS had a continuous spectrum and had a peak radiation in green region (490-550 nm). HPS has 12.6% lower output in photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) but 12.6% higher output in near infra-red (NIR) spectral regions compared to PLS. Both HPS and PLS lamps emitted very low levels of ultra-violet radiation (300-400 nm). Supplemental lighting both from HPS and PLS lamps increased plant height, leaf number, internode number and dry weight of cucumber plants compared to control. Photosynthetic activity of cucumber plants grown under two supplemental lighting systems was comparable. Number of fruits per cucumber plant (fruit weight per plant) in control, PLS, and HPS plots were 21.2 (2.9 kg), 38.7 (5.5 kg), and 40.4 (5.6 kg), respectively, thereby increasing yield by 1.8-1.9 times in comparison with control. An analysis of the economic feasibility of supplemental lighting in cucumber cultivation showed that considering lamp installation and electricity costs the income from supplemental lighting increased by 37% and 62% for PLS and HPS lamps, respectively.
