가정편의식 패키지 디자인에 대한 사용자 평가 연구 (A Study on User Evaluation about Package Design of Home Meal Replacement)

  • 이 연구는 고령화 사회 및 개인핵가족사회에 진입하는 우리나라의 현 상황에서 가정편의식 제품을 편리하게 사용할 수 있는 디자인에 대하여 알아보고자 한다. 연구방법으로 첫째, 가정편의식 이론적 고찰로서 문헌자료 및 선행연구조사를 하였다. 둘째, 디자인 조사로서 가정편의식 디자인 사례 분류를 하였다. 셋째, 실제 사용하는 이용자를 대상으로 사용자 평가 및 감성평가 조사를 실시하였다. 제품 디자인 감성평가에 의한 요인분석 결과 3개의 대표 요인으로 분류되어졌다. 1요인은 "형태적 감성", 2요인은 "기능적 감성", 3요인은 "심리적 감성"으로 연구자에 의한 대표 감성언어 명칭을 3가지로 부여하였다. 가정편의식 패키지 디자인으로 다음과 같이 제작되어져야할 것이다. 첫째, 용기를 들때 대부분 비닐용기로 되어져있어 미끄러지고 떨어뜨리기 쉽기 때문에 용기에 그립감을 주어 잘 떨어뜨리지 않게 한다. 둘째, 손목이나 손가락 힘이 약한 고령자를 위하여 쉽게 뜯을 수 있게 제작 한다. 또한, 색상과 관련하여 차가운 한색계열 색상보다는 따뜻한 난색 계열색상을 이용하여 제공한다.

대출 기록에 기초한 대학 도서관 도서 개인화 추천시스템 개발 및 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development and Evaluation of Personalized Book Recommendation Systems in University Libraries Based on Individual Loan Records)

  • 본 연구는 대학 도서관 사용 증진을 위하여 개인별 맞춤 도서 추천시스템을 구축하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히 사용자의 아이템에 대한 선호도가 존재하는 다수의 추천시스템과는 달리, 선호도가 존재하지 않을 때에 도서 추천이 가능하도록 하는 방안인 도서관 이용자의 도서 대출 목록과 성향을 활용하여 평가지표를 생성하는 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 이용자가 아직 읽지 않은 책에 대한 예상 선호도를 산출하는 방식으로 도서를 추천하는 행렬 분해 방법인 Singular Value Decomposition(SVD)과 Stochastic Gradient Descent(SGD) 알고리즘을 활용한 모델을 구축했다. 더불어 유사도가 높은 이용자 그룹 내의 도서 대출 목록을 참조하여 추천하는 사용자 기반 협업 필터링 알고리즘을 활용해 모델을 구현했다. 최종적으로 평가지표를 활용한 세 가지 모델에 대하여 사용자 평가를 진행했다. 각각의 모델이 제시한 개인별 맞춤 도서 다섯 권의 목록을 해당 대출자에게 제공하고, 추천 도서에 대한 만족/불만족 여부를 이진화 점수화하여 모델에 대한 평가를 진행했다.

A Usability Checklist for the Heuristic Evaluation of Mobile Phone User Interface

  • In the last decade, the research of the usability of mobile phones has been a newly evolving area with few established methodologies and realistic practices that ensure capturing usability in evaluation. Thus, there exists growing demand to explore appropriate evaluation methodologies that evaluate the usability of mobile phones quickly as well as comprehensively. This study aims to develop a task-based usability checklist based on heuristic evaluations in views of mobile phone UI practitioners. A hierarchical structure of UI design elements and usability principles related to mobile phones were developed and then utilized to develop the checklist. In order to demonstrate the practical effectiveness of the proposed checklist, comparative experiments were conducted on the usability checklist and usability testing. Majority of usability problems found by usability testing and additional problems were discovered by the proposed checklist. It is expected that the usability checklist proposed in this study could be used quickly and efficiently by usability practitioners to evaluate the mobile phone UI in the middle of the mobile phone development process.

스마트폰 이용자의 악성코드용 모바일 백신 이용 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인 (The Factors Affecting Smartphone User's Intention to use Mobile Anti-Malware SW)

  • Smartphone security threat has become an important issue in Information Science field following the wide distribution of smartphones. However, there are few studies related to such. Therefore, this study examined the factors affecting the intention of smartphone users to use the mobile vaccine against malware with the Protection Motivation Theory. To secure the reliability of the study, a surveying agency was commissioned. A total of 263 respondents, excluding 37 respondents who are users of iOS, which does not have mobile vaccine in the smart phone, or who gave invalid responses, were surveyed. The results showed that perception of the installed mobile vaccine significantly affected the Response Efficacy and Self-efficacy, and that the Perceived Severity, Perceived Vulnerability, Response Efficacy, and Self-efficacy significantly influenced the intention to use the mobile vaccine. On the other hand, Installation Perception of mobile vaccine itself did not affect the Perceived Severity and Perceived Vulnerability. This study is significant since it presented the new evaluation model of threat evaluation and response evaluation in the Protection Motivation Theory in accepting the security technology and raised the need for the promotion and exposure of mobile vaccine, since perception of mobile vaccine installation affects the response evaluation. It also found that the promotion must consider the seriousness of smartphone security, outstanding attribute of mobile vaccine, and user-friendliness of mobile vaccine above all.

과학관에서의 대중 시연을 통한 인간크기 이족보행 휴머노이드 로봇의 평가 연구 (Evaluation Study of a Human-sized Bipedal Humanoid Robot Through a Public Demonstration in a Science Museum)

  • Although human-sized bipedal humanoid robots have been developed as the ideal form of human-friendly robots, studies of humanoid robots from the user perspective and of actual interaction between humanoid robots and the public in daily environments are few. This paper presents a long-term public demonstration that encouraged interaction between a humanoid robot and unspecified individuals. We have collected a significant amount of subjective evaluation data from the public by performing a storytelling demonstration that enhanced people's empathy towards the robot. The evaluation model consists of the robot's human friendliness, which involves its impression on humans, interaction with humans, and imitation of human motions and the robot's human appearance which involves gender, age, height, and body type. This study shows that there is no significant difference in human-friendliness between gender groups (male and female), while there is a significant difference between age groups (children and adults). In human appearance, it appears that there is no significant difference between either gender groups or age groups, except for the case of the robot's height.

  • TFT-LCD(Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) module is representative commercial product of FPD(Flat Panel Display). Thickness of TFT-LCD module is very thin. It is adopted for major display unit for IT devices such as Cellular Phone, Camcorder, Digital camera and etc. Due to the harsh user environment of mobile IT devices, it requires complicated structure and tight assembly. And user requirements for the mechanical functionalities of TFT-LCD module become more strict. However, TFT-LCD module is normally weak to high level transient mechanical shock. Since it uses thin crystallized panel. Therefore, anti-shock performance is classified as one of the most important design specifications. Traditionally, the product reliability against mechanical shock is confirmed by empirical method in the design-prototype-drop/impact test-redesign paradigm. The method is time-consuming and expensive process. It lacks scientific insight and quantitative evaluation. In this article, a systematic design evaluation of TFT-LCD module for mobile IT devices is presented with combinations of FEA and testing to support the optimal shock proof display design procedure.

한국형 네트워크 보안 시스템 성능 평가 방법론 실계 (A Designing Method of Performance Evaluation for Network Security Equipment of Korean Style)

  • With the advancement of network, privacy information as well as confidential information that belongs to government and company are exposed to security incident like spreading viruses or DDoS attack. To prevent these security incident and protect information that belongs to government and company, Security system has developed such as antivirus, firewall, IPS, VPN, and other network security system. Network security systems should be selected based on purpose, usage and cost. Verification for network security product's basic features performed in a variety of ways at home and abroad, but consumers who buy these network security product, just rely on the information presented at companies. Therefore, common user doing self performance evaluation for perform Verification before buying network security product but these verification depends on inaccurate data which based on some user's criteria. On this paper, we designing methodology of network security system performance evaluation focused on Korean using other cases of performance evaluation.

개인용 로봇을 위한 학습능력 평가기준 및 청소로봇에 대한 적용 사례 (The Evaluation Criteria of Learning Abilities for Personal Robots and It's Application to a Cleaning Robot)

  • In this paper we present a guideline to evaluate how easy the use of personal robots is and how good their learning abilities are, based on the analysis of their built-in commands, user interfaces, and intelligences. Recently, we are living with robots that can be able to do lots of roles; cleaning, security, pets and education in real life. They can be classified as home robots, guide robots, service robots, robot pets, and so on. There we, however, no standards to evaluate their abilities, so it is not easy to select an appropriate robot when a user wants to buy it. Thus, we present, as a guideline that can be a standard for the evaluation of the personal robots, the standards by means of analyzing existing personal robots and results of the recent research works. We will, also, demonstrate how to apply the evaluation method to the cleaning robot as an example.

The Comparison of the Application of Two Different Color Quality Evaluation Methods

  • In this paper, the fabrication of a white light-emitting diode (WLED) package capable of producing different color rendering indexes (CRI ($R_a$)) using different types of phosphors (YAG:Ce, Silicate, Nitride, LuAG) for the LEDs is presented. The color quality is evaluated based on the current and temperature variation conditions. The evaluation method for color quality compares the existing CIE 13.3 method and the new IES TM-30-15 method. The CRI ($R_a$) defined in the conventional CIE 13.3 has the disadvantage. This cannot offer any information relevant to the user's preference. However, the newly proposed IES TM-30-15 method suggests the additional measure related to user's preference such as Color Gamut ($R_g$). The present experimental results obtained using the IES TM-30-15 show that the color quality of the WLEDs using green and red phosphors are better than that of the WLEDs using yellow phosphor, but their luminous efficacies are lower. The color quality of WLEDs using green and red phosphors are more stable than that of the WLEDs using yellow phosphor, for current and temperature variations, and it is verified that the phosphor causes this change. The evaluation method for color quality, based on IES TM-30-15, is proved to be capable of overcoming the problems of the existing evaluation methods by this study.
