소목(蘇木) 물추출물의 G2/M기 정지를 통한 U937세포의 성장억제 효과 (Caesalpinia sappan L. Induces G2/M Phase Cell Cycle Arrest in Human Lymphoma U937 Cells)

  • Caesalpinia sappan L. (C. sappan) has long been used in traditional medicine as an emmenagogue, hemostatic and anti-inflammatory agent. The present study investigated the effects of water extract of C. sappan in human lymphoma U937 cells. The proliferation of U937 cells was decreased by C. sappan in a dose-dependently manner. Anti-proliferative effect of C. sappan on U937 cells was associated with G2/M phase arrest, which was mediated by regulating the expression of p21 protein. Moreover, phosphorylation of JNK and p38 was increased by C. sappan. Blockade of JNK and p38 was significantly inhibited C. sappan-induced G2/M phase arrest. Taken together, these results suggest that Anti-proliferative effect of C. sappan on U937 is assocated with G2/M phase cell cycle arrest by expression of p21 protein and, JNK and p38 activation.

9.4T MRI FLASH Sequence에서 마우스의 뇌 조영증강 검사를 위한 적정 Echo phase (Optimal Echo phase of FLASH sequence for Brain Enhancement scan of mouse at 9.4T MRI system)

  • 본 연구에서는 9.4T MRI의 FLASH 시퀀스를 이용하여 마우스의 뇌 조영증강 검사 시 적정한 echo phase를 알아보고자 하였다. 이에 따른 정량화를 위하여 가도테리돌로 제작된 MR팬텀 실험을 진행하였다, 서로 다른 몰 농도의 가돌리늄으로 구성된 각 세 개의 팬텀을 제작하여 마우스 뇌 검사에 사용하고 있는 FLASH 시퀀스의 echo phase에 변화를 주어 시행한 후, 이에 대한 분석을 진행하였다. 팬텀실험결과 SSI(Saline's Signal Intensity)는 $6{\pi}$부터 $28{\pi}$까지 33개 각각의 phase에서 25~27[a.u]를 보였고, RSP(Response Start Point)는 각각 30~100 mmol을 기록하였다. MPSI(Max Peak Signal Intensity)는 47~52 [a.u]를 보였고, MPP(Max Peak Point)는 0.8~9 mmol로 기록되었다. EPMS(Enhancement Percentage of MSI to SSI)는 80.8~108.0%로 기록되었고, ASIMP(Average of SI according to Mol concentration on each Phase)은 21.1~31.8 [a.u] 사이에서 형성되었다. 마지막으로 ORA(Occurence Rate of Artifact)는 아티팩트 발생유무에 따라 +1과 -1로 표기하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 9.4T MRI에서의 FLASH 시퀀스의 조영증강 정도를 정량화 할 수 있었고, 마우스의 뇌 조영증강 검사 시 적정 echo phase를 산출 할 수 있었다.

Influence of Iron Phases on Microbial U(VI) Reduction

  • The bacterial uranium(VI) reduction and its resultant low solubility make this process an attractive option for removing U from groundwater. An impact of aqueous suspending iron phase, which is redox sensitive and ubiquitous in subsurface groundwater, on the U(VI) bioreduction by Shewanella putrefaciens CN32 was investigated. In our batch experiment, the U(VI) concentration ($5{\times}10^5M$) gradually decreased to a non-detectable level during the microbial respiration. However, when Fe(III) phase was suspended in solution, bioreduction of U(VI) was significantly suppressed due to a preferred reduction of Fe(III) instead of U(VI). This shows that the suspending amorphous Fe(III) phase can be a strong inhibitor to the U(VI) bioreduction. On the contrary, when iron was present as a soluble Fe(II) in the solution, the U(VI) removal was largely enhanced. The microbially-catalyzed U(VI) reduction resulted in an accumulation of solid-type U particles in and around the cells. Electron elemental investigations for the precipitates show that some background cations such as Ca and P were favorably coprecipitated with U. This implies that aqueous U tends to be stabilized by complexing with Ca or P ions, which easily diffuse and coprecipitate with U in and around the microbial cell.

월경주기에 따른 우울지수 정도와 음성특성과의 상관관계 분석 (The Correlation of Voice Characteristics and Depression Index Analysis in Accordance with Menstrual Cycle)

  • This study investigated the differences between emotional parameters BDI, VHI, STAI-X-I and STAI-X-II according to the menstrual cycles of the female and the relation between changes of the depression index and voice characteristics (jitter, shimmer, CPP, HNR, $pF0{\cdot}F1{\cdot}F2{\cdot}F3$, sF0, sF4, sB1, $H1_{c/u}$, $A1_u$, $A3_c$, $H1A3_{c/u}$, $H1A1_u$). Twenty three females ($30{\pm}4.4$ years old) living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were participated in this study to answer the questionnaires and record their voice. The participants prolonged /a/ vowel for 5 seconds in a natural condition for their voice recording. Voice data were analyzed using the Matlab and Praat program. A t-test and a correlation analysis were conducted by using SPSS for the statistical analysis. The results are as follows. First, the BDI is significantly higher in group I (lurear phase contrast the menstrual period) and group II (follicular phase against the menstrual period) than group III (luteal phase for follicular phase) (p<.05). Second, shimmer, CPP, pF0 showed a statistically high correlation regarding the BDI in group I (lurear phase contrast the menstrual period). Voice parameters may be useful as supplement in evaluating the emotional change in the phase of menstrual cycle.

3상 3레벨 인버터의 중성점 제어를 이용한 고조파 왜율 저감 효과 (The effect of Harmonic Distortion Reduction on Three Phase Three level Inverter Using Neutral Point Control)

  • In this paper, we applied a three-level T-type inverter with the one more voltage level than two-level inverter. However, the three-level T-type inverter has a systematic problem with voltage unbalances. So neutral point control is essential. Therefore, the voltage unbalance problem of the three - phase inverter was confirmed to be controlled within 5V using the neutral point control algorithm in charge and discharge mode. In addition, total harmonic distortion was reduced in three phases (u phase, v phase, w phase) when neutral point control was performed in charging mode and also in three phases (u phase, v phase, w phase) in discharge mode. In this paper suggests a neutral point control algorithm to solve the voltage unbalance of a three-level T-type inverter, and shows the improvement of the performance of the proposed algorithm through experiment.

  • This paper proposes a driving scheme for 6/6 single-phase SRM. The driving scheme is very simple and inexpensive. By use of this scheme, simple power devices based on low switching losses enable to high efficiency SRM drive. Starting, One of the main problem in single-phase SRM is overcome by a new starling algorithm with one hall sensor and a parting magnet. The proposed single-phase SRM has a high efficiency and robust drive characteristics compared to that of a universal motor.

Solid Circulation Rate in a 3-phase (gas/liquid/solid) Viscous Circulating Fluidized Bed

  • For the first time, the characteristics of solid circulation rate ($G_S$) were investigated in a three-phase (gas-liquid-solid) viscous circulating fluidized bed (TPCFB). The solid circulation rate was controlled separately by adjusting the experimental apparatus as well as operating variables. Effects of primary and secondary liquid velocities ($U_{L1}$ and $U_{L2}$), gas velocity ($U_G$), particle size ($d_p$), height of particles piled up in the solid recycle device (h), and viscosity of continuous liquid media (${\mu}_L$) on the value of $G_S$ were determined. The experimental results showed that the value of $G_S$ increased with increases in the values of $U_{L1}$, $U_{L2}$, h and ${\mu}_L$, while it decreased with increasing $U_G$ and $d_p$ in TPCFBs with viscous liquid media. The values of $G_S$ were well correlated in terms of dimensionless groups within this experimental conditions.

  • Microstepping drive of 3 phase VR step motor with 2 phase exciting scheme is proposed. Considering the presence of harmonic components of inductance, the current reference is calculated. The experimental results show high accuracy of divided step position and resonance or instability in operating range.

[ $G_1$ ] Phase Arrest of the Cell Cycle by a Ginseng Metabolite, Compound K, in U937 Human Monocytic Leukamia Cells

  • We recently reported that the ginseng saponin metabolite, compound K (20-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyra-nosyl-20(S)-protopanaxadiol, IH901), inhibits the growth of U937 cells through caspase-dependent apoptosis pathway. In this study, we further characterized the effects of compound K on U937 cells and found that, in addition to apoptosis, compound K induced the arrest of the G1 phase. The compound K treated U937 cells showed increased p21 expression; an inhibitory protein of cyclincdk complex. The up-regulation of p21 was followed by the inactivation of cyclin D and the cdk4 protein, which act at the early $G_1$ phase, and cyclin E, which acts at the late $G_1$ phase. Furthermore, compound K induced the activation of JNK and the transcription factor AP-1, which is a downstream target of JNK. These findings suggest that the up-regulation of p21 and activation of JNK in the compound K treated cells contribute to the arrest of the $G_1$ phase.

하소 조건 변화에 따른 YbBaCuO 초전도체 의 특성 연구 (A study on Properties of YbBaCuO Superconductor with various calcination conditions)

  • In this paper, to obtain the YbB $a_2$C $u_3$ $O_{x}$ superconductor, the mixed Powders of Y $b_2$ $O_3$, BaC $O_3$, CuO and Y $b_2$BaCu $O_{5}$, BaCu $O_2$ were used and the various calcining conditions were applied for the 123 phase of YbB $a_2$C $u_3$ $O_{x}$. Samples were prepared by the mixed oxide method and calcined with various temperatures of 88$0^{\circ}C$ ~91$0^{\circ}C$ . It was observed that the distribution of YbB $a_2$C $u_3$ $O_{x}$ phase which was calcined at 90$0^{\circ}C$ for 12 hours and 99 hours. But the result of long time calcination(99 hrs), the 123 phase of YbB $a_2$C $u_3$ $O_{x}$ was existed between 89$0^{\circ}C$ and 91$0^{\circ}C$ . And the best case could be obtained at the calcination temp. of 90$0^{\circ}C$ from the mixed Powder of YbB $a_2$C $u_3$ $O_{5}$ and Bacu $O_2$ which were prepared individually.idually.
