  • This paper presents the new algorithm for fault analysis and the fault analysis package for executing this algorithm. This algorithm obtains requisite term for fault analysis by the two-port network technique. Therefore, the fault calculation time is minimized because ${Y_{BUS}}^{-1}$ calculation time is removed. And, the graphic user environment for fault analysis is implemented in mouse-oriented user interface with window and pull-down menu. Therefore, this package can be a useful tool for fault analysis.

  • In this paper, we propose two noise parameter measurement methods using spectrum analyzer. First method, we measure a noise correlation matrix using the 6-port network, and we calculate noise parameters using measured a noise correlation matrix. Second method, we directly measure noise figures of the DUT for source impedance changes, and then noise parameters are extracted from the measured noise figures. In order to measure a noise figure, we present a method of measuring a noise figure of the DUT that have arbitrary source impedances using spectrum analyzer and a method of eliminating a noise effect of a impedance tuner. Finally, the noise parameters of a passive and active DUT using proposed two methods are compared. The comparison shows that the two results obtained from for the two methods give almost identical noise parameters. The noise parameters measured by 6-port network accurately predict measured noise figures of the DUT for source impedance changes, and noise parameters measured by 6-port network is verified from the comparison.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of optimal broadcasting in recursive circulants under multi-port communication model. Recursive circulant G(N, d) that is defined to be a circulant graph with N vertices and jumps of powers of d is a useful interconnection network from the viewpoint of network metrices. Our model assumes that a processor can transmit a message to $\alpha$ neighboring processors simultaneously where $\alpha$ is two or three. For the broadcasting problem, we introduce 3-trees and 4-trees. And then we show that 3-trees and 4-trees are minimum broadcast trees in 2-port model and 3-port model. Using the above results, we show that recursive circulants g(2m, 2) have optimum broadcasting time in 2-port model and 3-port model.

We include dynamic character of nonlinear system, and mathematical expression veny simple used neural network. When various establishment location and surrounding disturbance were approved based on mathematical modelling of crane, controller designed to become effective control location error and vibration angle of two control variables that simultaneously can predictive control. Neural network predictive PID controller produced parameter of PID controller using neural network self-tuner. Neural network self-tuner's input used crane's output and neural network predictive output. Neural network self-tuner using error back propagation algorithm. We analyzed control performance comparison through computer simulation when applied disturbance about sway of location and angle in transfer of crane. The results show that the proposed neural network predictive PID controller has better performances than general PID controller, neural network PID controller.

  • In order to analyze the impedance properties of high integrated impedance network with multiple terminals, this paper introduces the concept of impedance relation matrix(IRM). The linear relation between the terminal voltages and currents is represented in the form of IRM and this matrix can be utilized to calculate the impedance between any two terminals. Furthermore, IRM representation for 2-port impedance network can be also defined. The whole impedance network is divided into the several 2-port sub-networks and each sub-network is analyzed in a form of the IRM representation. An illustrated example is given to show that the proposed method is simple and effective to analyze the impedance of a sensor array which has a very large number of impedance elements.

  • A de-embedding method for multiport networks, especially for coupled odd interconnection lines, is presented in this paper. This method does not require a conversion from S-parameters to T-parameters, which is widely used in the de-embedding technique of multiport networks based on cascaded simple two-port relations, whereas here, we apply an operation to the S-matrix to generate all the uncoupled and coupled coefficients. The derivation of the method is based on the relations of incident and reflected waves between the input of the entire network and the input of the intrinsic device under test (DUT). The characteristics of the intrinsic DUT are eventually achieved and expressed as a function of the S-parameters of the whole network, which are easily obtained. The derived coefficients constitute ABCD-parameters for a convenient implementation of the method into cascaded multiport networks. A validation was performed based on a spice-like circuit simulator, and this verified the proposed method for both uncoupled and coupled cases.

  • In this paper, complete and general two-port lumped Spice-network model is developed for a lossy transmission line. This model is realized as a Spice subcircuit, by means of standard lumped network elements and mathematical functions. It is used as a component in the time-domain simulation of a high-speed data transmission line such as IMI(Inter Module Interface) data path in HANbit ACE 64 ATM switching system. The only required Spice network elements are resistance and frequency-dependent controlled-voltage sources. Such frequency-dependent sources are realized by utilizing the standard Hspice mathematical functions FREQ, DELAY, and POLY.

  • The geoidal undulations are needed for determining the orthometric heights from the Global Positioning System GPS-derived ellipsoidal heights. There are several methods for geoidal undulation determination. The paper presents a method employing a simple architecture Two Layer Multiquadric-Biharmonic Artificial Neural Network (TLMB-ANN) to approximate an area of 4200 square kilometres quasigeoid surface with GPS-levelling data. Hardy’s Multiquadric-Biharmonic functions is used as the hidden layer neurons’ activation function and Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is used to train the artificial neural network. In numerical examples five surfaces were compared: the gravimetric geometry hybrid quasigeoid, Support Vector Machine (SVM) model, Hybrid Fuzzy Neural Network (HFNN) model, Traditional Three Layer Artificial Neural Network (ANN) with tanh activation function and TLMB-ANN surface approximation. The effectiveness of TLMB-ANN surface approximation depends on the number of control points. If the number of well-distributed control points is sufficiently large, the results are similar with those obtained by gravity and geometry hybrid method. Importantly, TLMB-ANN surface approximation model possesses good extrapolation performance with high precision.

  • A wireless power transfer (WPT) system is generally designed with the optimum source and load impedance in order to achieve the maximum power transfer efficiency (PTE) at a specific coupling coefficient. Empirically or intuitively, however, it is well known that a high PTE can be attained by adjusting either the source or load impedance. In this paper, we estimate the maximum achievable PTE of WPT systems with the given load impedance, and propose the condition of source impedance for the maximum PTE. This condition can be reciprocally applied to the load impedance of a WPT system with the given source impedance. First, we review the transducer power gain of a two-port network as the PTE of the WPT system. Next, we derive two candidate conditions, the critical coupling and the optimum conditions, from the transducer power gain. Finally, we compare the two conditions carefully, and the results therefore indicate that the optimum condition is more suitable for a highly efficient WPT system with a given load impedance.

  • A method of measuring Q of a two port cavity by scattering parameters is proposed. The scattering parameters of a two port cavity resonator are derived by a lumped equivalent circuit model as a function of cavity parameters, including the cavity Q. These can be also obtained by direct measurement with a modern network analyzer, The results show good agreement with those from other well-known methods. This two port measurement can provide additional information such as the coupled power ratio, which is one of the important parameters for the beam accelerating cavities.
