차선 이탈 경고 시스템의 성능 검증을 위한 가상의 오염 차선 이미지 및 비디오 생성 방법 (Virtual Contamination Lane Image and Video Generation Method for the Performance Evaluation of the Lane Departure Warning System)

  • In this paper, an augmented video generation method to evaluate the performance of lane departure warning system is proposed. In our system, the input is a video which have road scene with general clean lane, and the content of output video is the same but the lane is synthesized with contamination image. In order to synthesize the contamination lane image, two approaches were used. One is example-based image synthesis, and the other is background-based image synthesis. Example-based image synthesis is generated in the assumption of the situation that contamination is applied to the lane, and background-based image synthesis is for the situation that the lane is erased due to aging. In this paper, a new contamination pattern generation method using Gaussian function is also proposed in order to produce contamination with various shape and size. The contamination lane video can be generated by shifting synthesized image as lane movement amount obtained empirically. Our experiment showed that the similarity between the generated contamination lane image and real lane image is over 90 %. Futhermore, we can verify the reliability of the video generated from the proposed method through the analysis of the change of lane recognition rate. In other words, the recognition rate based on the video generated from the proposed method is very similar to that of the real contamination lane video.

단일차선추출 및 중심점 분석을 통한 차선이탈검출 알고리즘 (Lane Departure Warning Algorithm Through Single Lane Extraction and Center Point Analysis)

  • 본 논문에서는 차량에 설치된 카메라를 활용하여 차선을 추출하고, 차량이탈을 검출하기 위한 방법에 대해서 논의한다. 하드웨어 기술의 발달로 지능형 자동차에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행됨에 따라서, 카메라를 활용한 차선인식 및 차량이탈검출과 관련하여 다양한 알고리즘들이 제시 되었다. 그러나 이들 연구에서는 영상에서 2개의 차선을 모두 찾아야 하기 때문에 처리속도 및 실제 운행환경에서의 다양한 여건으로 인하여 검출률이 떨어진다는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 빠른 속도와 높은 검출률을 위해 단일차선을 추출하고, 중심점 분석을 통한 차선이탈검출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 카메라의 기하학적 모델링을 통하여 차선이 존재하는 관심영역을 설정하고, 원본 이미지를 이등분한 후에 허프변환(Hough Transform)을 사용하여 한 차선의 일부를 찾아낸 후에, 일정 크기로 복원한다. 복원한 차선을 설정된 중심점과의 거리계산을 통하여 차선이탈을 판단한다. 실차실험을 통하여 제안한 알고리즘을 기존의 알고리즘과 비교 검증을 수행하였고, 이를 통하여 제안된 알고리즘이 빠르고 정확함을 보였다.

  • 무인 자동차 시스템에 있어 차선추적과 물체회피 기술은 중요한 핵심기술 이다. 본 논문에서는 차량제어와 모델링, 센서 실험을 통하여 차선추적 및 물체회피 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 첫 번째 물체회피는 가/감속을 위한 종 방향 제어와 조향제어에 의한 횡 방향 제어 두 개의 부분으로 구성되어 진다. 각각의 시스템은 무인자동차의 제어를 위하여 차량의 위치, 주변환경 인식, 상황에 따른 빠른 처리를 요구한다. 차량의 제어 전략이 작동되는 동안 도로에서의 물체인식과 회피는 차량의 속도에 달려 있다. 두 번째 영상시스템을 통한 차선추석방법을 설명한다. 이 또한 두 부분으로 구성된다. 첫 번째 횡/종 제어를 위한 로도 모델이 포함된다. 두 번째 차선추적방법, 영상처리 알고리즘, 필터링 방법 및 영상처리 방법을 다룰 것이다. 마지막으로 본 논문에서는 실차실험을 통한 차선추적 및 물체회피 차량제어 및 모델링 방법을 제안한다.

차량이동궤적 기반 중앙버스전용차로 구간 선형설계 분석 (Analysis of Alignment Design of Central Exclusive Bus Lane Based on Vehicle Moving Trajectory)

  • PURPOSES : The lack of details of design guideline for zig-zag shaped section approaching central bus stop leads an traffic accident proneness. So, this study analysed the geometric elements of central bus stop area in terms of vehicle dynamics and suggested design alternatives. METHODS : The study analysed a dynamic behaviour of bus moving in and out of zig-zag shaped section using Auto-Turn under scenarios. Based upon dynamic analysis, the study found out the width of overtaking lane is the most influential factor for a safe moving at zig-zag alignment. RESULTS : The width of overtaking lane at design speed of 40, 50, and 60 km/h respectively was suggested given taper ratio of 1 to 10 required for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), and the lane width is not wider than 4.0m which possibly makes two vehicles using the same lane. Also, the width of overtaking lane which mitigates the taper ratio was suggested with the same restriction about the maximum lane width. CONCLUSIONS : The results of the study can be used to prepare a design guideline on zig-zag shaped alignment of central bus exclusive lanes. The more stable moving is expected by applying the design alternatives suggested, therefore the lower rate of traffic crashes at the vicinity of central bus stops.

  • In this paper, we will explain about the unmanned vehicle control and modeling for combined obstacle avoidance and lane tracking. First, obstacle avoidance is considered as one of the important technologies in the unmanned vehicle. It is consisted by two parts: the first part includes the longitudinal control system for the acceleration and deceleration and the second part is the lateral control system for the steering control. Each system uses to the obstacle avoidance during the vehicle moving. Therefore, we propose the method of vehicle control, modeling and obstacle avoidance. Second, we describe a method of lane tracking by means of vision system. It is important in the unmanned vehicle and mobile robot system. In this paper, we deal with lane tracking and image processing method and it is including lane detection method, image processing algorithm and filtering method.

장애물 격자지도 기반 가상차선 추정 기법 (A Method for Virtual Lane Estimation based on an Occupancy Grid Map)

  • Navigation in outdoor environments is a fundamental and challenging problem for unmanned ground vehicles. Detecting lane markings or boundaries on the road may be one of the solutions to make navigation easy. However, because of various environments and road conditions, a robust lane detection is difficult. In this paper, we propose a new approach for estimating virtual lanes on a traversable region. Estimating the virtual lanes consist of two steps: (i) we detect virtual road region through road model selection based on traversability at current frame and similarity between the interframe and (ii) we estimate virtual lane using the number of lane on the road and results of previous frame. To improve the detection performance and reduce the searching region of interests, we use a probability map representing the traversability of the outdoor terrain. In addition, by considering both current and previous frame simultaneously, the proposed method estimate more stable virtual lanes. We evaluate the performance of the proposed approach using real data in outdoor environments.

마이크로 시뮬레이션을 이용한 고속도로 화물차 전용차로 도입에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Introduction of Truck only Lane on Expressway using VISSIM)

  • 화물차 운송의 시간과 비용이 증가하여 물류비가 증가하게 되고 높은 물류비는 결과적으로 산업경쟁력의 저하로 이어지게 되므로 이 연구에서는 물류비 절감을 위해 고속도로에 화물차 전용차로 도입에 관한 연구를 실시하고자 한다. 연구의 대상지는 화물차의 통행이 많은 경부고속도로로 금호 JCT~남구미 IC 구간이고 이 구간에 기본차로, 버스전용차로 설치, 화물차 전용차로 설치, 두 전용차로를 설치시 그에 따른 운행속도, 밀도에 대해 도출하였다. 분석결과 화물차 전용차로 설치시 평균운행속도가 83.4km/h로 가장 높고 밀도는 22.47km/대로 가장 낮은 것으로 나타나 화물차 전용차로 도입시 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 할 수 있다.

차로배정 최적화를 고려한 신호교차로 운영방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Operation Methodology of A Signalized Intersection Based on Optimization of Lane-Uses)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to propose delay-minimizing operation methodology of a signalized intersection based upon optimization of lane-uses on approaching lanes for an intersection. METHODS : For the optimization model of lane-uses, a set of constraints are set up to ensure feasibility and safety of the lane-uses, traffic flow, and signal settings. Minimization of demand to saturation flow ratio of a dual-ring signal control system is introduced to the objective function for delay minimization and effective signal operation. Using the optimized lane-uses, signal timings are optimized by delay-based model of TRANSYT-7F. RESULTS : It was found that the proposed objective function is great relation with delay time for an intersection. From the experimental results, the method was approved to be effective in reducing delay time. Especially, cases for two left-turn lanes reduced greater delays than those for a left turn lane. It is noticed that the cases for different traffic volume by approach reduced greater delays than those for the same traffic volume by approach. CONCLUSIONS : It was concluded that the objective function is proper for lane-uses optimizing model and the operation method is effective in reducing delay time for signalized intersections.

차선 추적을 이용한 환경변화에 강인한 차선 검출 방법 (A Method of Lane Marker Detection Robust to Environmental Variation Using Lane Tracking)

  • Lane detection is a key function in developing autonomous vehicle technology. In this paper, we propose a lane marker detection algorithm robust to environmental variation targeting low cost embedded computing devices. The proposed algorithm consists of two phases: initialization phase which is slow but has relatively higher accuracy; and the tracking phase which is fast and has the reliable performance in a limited condition. The initialization phase detects lane markers using a set of filters utilizing the various features of lane markers. The tracking phase uses Kalman filter to accelerate the lane marker detection processing. In a tracking phase, we measure the reliability of the detection results and switch it to initialization phase if the confidence level becomes below a threshold. By combining the initialization and tracking phases we achieved high accuracy and acceptable computing speed even under a low cost computing resources in which we cannot use the computing intensive algorithm such as deep learning approach. Experimental results show that the detection accuracy is about 95% on average and the processing speed is about 20 frames per second with Raspberry Pi 3 which is low cost device.

차로수별 간선도로구간 사고모형 - 청주시를 사례로 - (Traffic Accident Models of Arterial Road Sections by Number of Lane in the Case of Cheongju)

  • This study deals with the accident models of arterial road sections. The objectives is to develop the models by number of lane. In pursuing the above, this study gives particular emphasis to dividing the 474 small link sections, collecting the accident data of 2007, and applying the statistical programs of SPSS17.0 and NLOGIT4.0. The main results are as follows. First, the number of accidents of two-lane roads were analyzed to be 59.9% of totals and to be the most of all. Second, one Poisson and two negative binomial regression models which were all statistically significant were developed. Finally, the common variables of all models were evaluated to be ADT and number of exit/entry which were all positive to the accidents.
