  • This paper proposes the two algorithms which generate a minimal decision rule and approximate inference operation, adapted the rough set and the factor space theory in fuzzy knowledge base. The generation of the minimal decision rule is executed by the data classification technique and reduct applying the correlation analysis and the Bayesian theorem related attribute factors. To retrieve the specific object, this paper proposes the approximate inference method defining the membership function and the combination operation of t-norm in the minimal knowledge base composed of decision rule. We compare the suggested algorithms with the other retrieval theories such as possibility theory, factor space theory, Max-Min, Max-product and Max-average composition operations through the simulation generating the object numbers and the attribute values randomly as the memory size grows. With the result of the comparison, we prove that the suggested algorithm technique is faster than the previous ones to retrieve the object in access time.

  • Background: Some researchers state that they are not yet able to provide a deep understanding of the underlying causes of unsafe behaviors (UBs). Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the attitudes and experiences of Iranian workers of UBs. Methods: This present study was conducted in 35 industries using a semistructured interview based on grounded theory. Forty participants were interviewed, including 13 industrial safety and health experts and 27 workers and supervisors. The analysis of the present study consisted of a three-step coding process including open, axial, and selective coding. Results: The results showed that the factors affecting UBs could be classified into three categories: organizational, individual, and socioeconomic factors. Organizational factors were divided into 6 parts: procedure and environmental conditions, communications, monitoring, organizational safety culture, resource allocation, and human resources. Socioeconomic factors had three subcategories: community safety culture, type of organizational ownership, and economic problems. Finally, the individual factors were classified into two categories of personality traits and individual competence. Conclusion: The results showed that organizational factors were the most categorized, and it is estimated that this factor has a more important role in the UBs. Of course, to better understand the close relationship between these factors and find the weight and importance of each factor, it needs to measure it with multicriteria decision systems.

  • The aim of this study is twofold. First, this study aimed to explore how Korean university students' English learning motivation is related to their English listening proficiency and study time. Second, it attempted to interpret the English learning motivation linking the two different motivation theories: self-determination theory and L2 motivational self system. The constructs of the students' L2 learning motivation were investigated with the data obtained through the questionnaire from 122 sophomore students. A factor analysis was conducted to extract the major factors of motivation. As a result, 6 factors were extracted: Intrinsic Pleasure, Identified Value Regulation, Intrinsic Accomplishment, Introjected Regulation, External Regulation, and Identified Regulation. The Interrelatedness among the assessment results on the L2 listening proficiency (pre and post test), listening study time, and motivation factors was measured by correlation coefficients. The statistical results indicated that pre-test scores were significantly related to Identified Regulation and Identified Value Regulation toward English learning, and post-test results had significant correlation with Intrinsic Accomplishment and Identified Regulation. However, no motivation subtypes showed statistical association with the students' listening study time. The results were attempted to be interpreted both under L2 motivational self system and self-determination framework to better illuminate the motivation theory with more explanatory power.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting health promotion behavior among workers with high risk of metabolic syndrome. This study was based on the planned behavior theory. Methods: The participants were 167 workers at high risk of metabolic syndrome. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Surveyed variables were attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, intention, and health promotion behavior. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchical regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 22.0. Results: Perceived behavioral control affected the intention of health promotion behavior among the workers with high risk of metabolic syndrome. It explained 62% of variance in the intention of health promotion behavior (F=40.09, p<.001). Perceived behavioral control and occupation affected health promotion behavior among the risk workers with high risk of metabolic syndrome. The two factors explained 16% of variance in health promotion behavior (F=4.95, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that perceived behavioral control is the only factor affecting health promotion behavior when the theory of planned behavior was applied. Therefore, intervention programs for improving health promotion behavior should be focused on strengthening perceived behavioral control.

  • As generalization of using PC and the Internet information technology (IT) users in organizations are not passive clients but active producers of information services. One of the reasons for the change of users' role is social interactions with other users and IT department staffs. That is, users can find and develop new functions and usefulness of IT, especially, Web-based ones through communication with other users or IT department staffs. The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between IT department service quality and social interactions with other users. For this purpose, we suggest a research model based on adaptive structuration theory (AST), which is to explain the changes in social structure (rules and resources) of IT by social interactions, as well as service quality theory. Our model's exogenous variable is service quality which is a second-order factor consisting of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. As endogenous variables, we adopt two variables for appropriateness of using IT, faithfulness of appropriation and consensus on appropriation. Finally, dependent variables of ow model are usefulness and ease of use which can be considered as attitude on IT as well as other variables for appropriateness. For empirical test our model is applied to users of groupware and ERP in organizations and analyzed by partial least square. In result, all hypotheses suggested in our model are supported statistically.

  • In general the design methods of adaptive filter are divided into two categories, one is based upon the local parameter optimization theory and the other is based upon stability theory. Among the various design techniques, the LMS algorithm by steepest-descent method which is based upon local parameter optimization theory is used widely. In designing the adaptive filter, the most important factor is the convergence rate of the algorithm. In this paper a new algorithm is proposed to improve the convergence rate of adaptive firter compared with the commonly used LMS algorithm. The faster convergence rate is obtained by adjusting the adaptation gain of LMS algorithm. And various aspects of improvement of the adaptive filter characteristics are discussed in detail.

  • We investigated theoretically the quantum optical transition properties of Si, in quasi 2-Dimensinal Landau splitting system, based on quantum transport theory. We apply the quantum transport theory (QTR) to the system in the confinement of electrons by square well confinement potential under linearly polarized oscillating field. We use the projected Liouville equation method with Equilibrium Average Projection Scheme (EAPS). In order to analyze the quantum transition, we compare the temperature and the magnetic field dependencies of the QTLW and the QTLS on four transition processes, namely, the intra-leval transition process, the inter-leval transition process, the phonon emission transition process and the phonon absorption transition process.

  • A simple method to calculate the interfacial tension between two immiscible molten polymers has been developed. The theory is based on the significant structure theory of liquids. The energy of adhesion is expressed as a geometric mean of the cohesion energies multiplied by correction factor $({\Phi}12)$, ${\Delta}E_{12}={\Phi}_{12}\sqrt{{\Delta}E_{11}{\Delta}E_{22^{\circ}}$. In the calculation of ${\Delta}E_{11}\;and\;{\Delta}E_{22}$, a quasilattice of polymer chains has been assumed. It is assured that, besides the dispersion force, the polar force interactions between polymer constituent groups should be considered in the calculation of the interfacial tensions.

  • The study examines an empirical case that explores the key constructs of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) (Venkatesh, Morris, Davis & Davis, 2003) and the relationship between security and privacy of the Theory of Perceived Risk (TPR) (Bauer, 1960). This study employs survey data of 200 young Internet users aged 18 to 25. The study was conducted through two steps: preliminary research by qualitative research method to form the official research scale then formal research by quantitative research method using CFA and SEM to test the research model. The research results show that performance expectancy and social influence significantly predict behavioral intention to use e-wallets in payment. In contrast, the factors, namely, security and privacy, and effort expectancy, are statistically insignificant on behavioral intention. Nevertheless, the facilitating conditions factor still affects the behavior of using e-wallets. The study proposes a model to generalize the online payment environment through the integration of UTAUT and TPR models that are important for online payment management and researchers in the technology environment. The findings of this study suggest that social influence significantly affects the intention of young people to use e-wallets instead of security and privacy.

  • The present work deals with an investigation on longitudinal wave propagation in nanobeams made of graphene sheets, for the first time. The nanobeam is modelled via a higher-order shear deformation theory accounts for both higher-order and thickness stretching terms. The general nonlocal strain gradient theory including nonlocality and strain gradient characteristics of size-dependency in order is used to examine the small-scale effects. This model has three-small scale coefficients in which two of them are for nonlocality and one of them applied for gradient effects. Hamilton supposition is applied to obtain the governing motion equation which is solved using a harmonic solution procedure. It is indicated that the longitudinal wave characteristics of the nanobeams are significantly influenced by the nonlocal parameters and strain gradient parameter. It is shown that higher nonlocal parameter is more efficient than lower nonlocal parameter to change longitudinal phase velocities, while the strain gradient parameter is the determining factor for their efficiency on the results.
