Purpose : This study was conducted to confirm the correlation between team sharing spirit, team effectiveness, team cohesion, team reliability, and turnover intention of hospital nurses and to identify the influence factors affecting the turnover intention of hospital nurses. Methods : The sample for this study consisted of 200 nurses from four general hospitals of less than 500 beds located in J city. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe' test, Pearson Correlation and Hierarchical Multiple Regression. Results : Factors influencing nurse turnover intentions included satisfaction with nursing position (β=.274), team reliability (β=-.250), satisfaction with department (β=-.178), and career (β=.149) in order, and these influence factors accounted for 32.1 % of nurses' turnover intentions. Conclusion : Based on the results of the study, it is necessary to consider ways to reduce the turnover intention of nurses by devising strategies to increase the factors of satisfaction with nursing positions, team reliability, and satisfaction with department by making good use of the resources of the medical institution. It is suggested to conduct repeated studies of nurses working in various clinical sites and further studies applying various outcome variables in the future.
Purpose: This study was done to explore the relationship between expectations of the clinical ladder system (CLS), career commitment and turnover intention in nurses employed in small-medium sized hospitals. Methods: Participants were 154 nurses from 3 small-medium sized hospitals in Gyeonggi Province and Gwangju City. From February, 8 to April, 14, 2017, self-report questionnaires were collected and analyzed using frequency, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, and Person correlation coefficients. Results: Of the participant nurses, 61% perceived the CLS as needed. The mean score for expectation of CLS, career commitment, and turnover intention on 5-point scale were 3.38, 3.17, 3.21, respectively. There were no significant differences in expectation of CLS according to general characteristics, but career commitment and turnover intention did show significant differences depending on age, position, type of work shift. Expectation of CLS correlated positively with career commitment (r=.23, p=.005), and career commitment correlated negatively with turnover intention (r=-.49, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study show that there is a need to adopt the clinical ladder system to improve career commitment.
Purpose: This study is designed to verify affecting variables to turnover intention of nurses in general hospital. Methods: The data were from the self-reported questionnaire responses of 168 nurses in five general hospitals 300-400 beds in Seoul and Gyungi province and analyzed by frequency and percentage, t-test, ANOVA and Sheffe's test and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The means of turnover intention were $3.14{\pm}0.87$, job overload, $3.54{\pm}0.67$, role ambiguity, $2.87{\pm}0.71$ and burnout, $2.68{\pm}0.72$. A significant correlation was found among turnover intention and job overload (r=.24, p<.001), role ambiguity (r=.30, p<.001), and burn out (r=.58, p<.001). The factors that affect turnover intention from the result of multiple regression by the stepwise selection, were emotional exhaustion, role ambiguity, and diminished personal accomplishment. Conclusion: Based on the results, to reduce turnover intention of nurses, emotional support should be provided and also range of roles be clearly defined. In addition, it is needed to improve the working conditions for nurses to get a sense of accomplishment.
Purpose: As the proportion of foreigners participating in the domestic labor market is gradually increasing, problems caused by social and cultural differences have also been expressed. As such, the purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of organizational justice and social support on psychological and cultural adaptation and its effect on turnover intention. Research design, data and methodology: The data was collected for foreign workers who visited the Foreign Workers Support Center operated by the Korea Human Resources Development Service. A total of 224 data were analyzed from March 1 to March 30, 2019 and was analyzed through frequency analysis for basic work environment of foreign workers, factor analysis for reliability and validity of variables, and overall structural model analysis. Results: Organizational fairness did not appear to affect psychological adaptation and significant cultural adaptation but social support had a significant effect. Psychological adjustment did not affect turnover intention, and cultural adaptation had a significant effect on turnover intention. Conclusions: Thus, in order to reduce the intention of turnover and adapt well to the working environment, it would be more efficient to find ways to raise the level of psychological adaptation by strengthening social support rather than organizational fairness.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the roles of empowerment and emotional intelligence in the relationship between job embeddedness and turnover intension among general hospital nurses. Methods: The sample for this study consisted of 224 nurses from four general hospitals of less than 500 beds located in Seoul and Gyunggi Province. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ test, Pearson Correlation and Hierarchical Multiple Regression. Results: It was found that: (a) Job embeddedness and emotional intelligence had negative effects on turnover intension; (b) Emotional intelligence moderated the relationship between job embeddedness and turnover intension, but empowerment did not. Conclusion: Findings indicate a need to reduce the degree of turnover by enhancing job embeddedness among general hospital nurses. Further research needs to be done to refine this study.
Purpose- The purpose of this study is to give implications on how to decrease employee turnover intention of Korean information and communication industry employees using organization culture, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. To do that this study analyzes relationships among variables and analyses mediating effect of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Research design, data, and methodology- To analyze relationships among organization culture, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention of employees, this study used the 7th KRIVET's HCCP employee data especially employees working in the information and communication industry who has more than university degree education. The analysis is conducted by using SPSS 21 and frequency analysis correlation analysis, regression analysis and mediating effect are analyzed by using MACRO PROCESS procedure for SPSS. Result- According to the empirical results, organization culture of innovation, relation and rational directed significantly affect both job satisfaction and organizational commitment. And job satisfaction and organizational commitment significantly affect each other. Turnover intention is significantly affected by job satisfaction, organizational commitment, innovation directed and hierarchy directed. However, the influence of innovation and hierarchy showed conflicting results. Conclusion- Based on this study result, implications to manage the turnover intention of Korean employees in the information and communication industry are discussed. Especially, the effect of organization culture, job satisfaction and organizational commitment is discussed. And the mediating role of job satisfaction and organizational commitment is also analyzed. Result implicates that cautious approach is needed in managing organization culture to employee attitude of job and organization is needed
The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of socio-demographic, organizational conflict and job satisfaction, and to examine the interrelation of influential factors in the intention of turnover. The data for this study were collected through a self-administrated survey with a structured questionnaire to 1,027 subjects from several medical doctor staff members, nursing staff members, administration staff members, pharmacist, and technical expert of eleven hospitals. The data were collected by self-reporting questionnaire from July 29 to September 7, 2002. In this analysis frequency test, t-test, ANOVA, multiple regression were used. The main results of this research is as following; 1. According to socio-demographic characteristics of the respondent's level of the intention of turnover was higher in a doctor staff members than others, for females than males, and had worked for 5-10 years in hospitals. Also, the intent to turnover was generally higher younger workers than long terms workers. 2. According to the organizational conflict characteristics as the respondents who got less conflict experience in the organization, their level of the intention of turnover was higher. And, technical conflict experiences were expressed greater than hierarchical conflict experiences. 3. According to the job satisfaction characteristics as his or her satisfaction that is about the promotion, working itself, salary, and fellowship in the organizational was higher, the level of the intention of turnover was lower. 4. According to the result of Multiple Regression for the doctor staff members in general hospitals rather than special hospitals was negatively correlated with the satisfaction of working itself while hierarchical conflict factors in the organizational conflict characteristics was positively correlated with the intention of turnover. For the nursing staff members the job satisfaction for the working itself, salary were negatively correlated with the intention of turnover. For the administration staff members as the job satisfaction for the working itself was negatively correlated with the intention of turnover. For medical and pharmacy staff members as more working experience, correlation with the intention of turnover was negative. Besides, as the job satisfaction for the working itself and the fellowship was negatively correlated with the intention of turnover. For the skill and technicians, the job satisfaction for the working itself, promotion were negatively correlated with the intention of turnover. The above indicate that job satisfaction and promote their ability and form a good relationship with organization members were very important to decrease the intention of turnover. This study identified the major effective factors of the intention of turnover and analyzed the differences among the job category. In that respect, it is significant for the study to be able to provide a reference for managing hospital of industrial accident and organizational development. However, this study has a problem, which is not to identify a valuable model for examining the relationship between organizational factors such as organizational conflict, job satisfaction, and intention of turnover. Therefore, further study is needed and strengthened in the field of intention of turnover for hospital for industrial accident.
Purpose: This study was done to investigate new graduate nurses' perceptions of nursing professionalism, job involvement and turnover intention and to identify factors influencing turnover intention in new graduate nurses. Methods: Participants were 179 new graduate nurses working in general hospitals and small and medium-sized hospitals in Gyungnam province. Data were collected from August 10 to September 16, 2015 through a survey with self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. Results: Mean scores were; for nursing professionalism, $3.62{\pm}0.73$, for job commitment, $3.22{\pm}0.89$. and for turnover intention, $3.25{\pm}0.95$. There were significant correlations between nursing professionalism and job involvement (r=.47, p<.001), nursing professionalism and turnover intention (r=-.36, p<.001), job involvement and turnover intention (r=-.46, p<.001). For turnover intention of new graduates 25.1% of the variance was explained by nursing professionalism (${\beta}=-.16$, p=.034), job involvement (${\beta}=-.36$, p<.001), and frequency of night shifts (${\beta}=.03$, p=.022). Conclusions: Findings indicate that nursing professionalism and job involvement of new graduate nurses had significant influence on their turnover intention. Therefore, to reduce turnover intention of new graduate nurses, it is necessary to enhance their nursing professionalism and job involvement with organizational supports.
Purpose: This study was carried out in order to examine organizational commitment in dental technicians and turnover intention level according to it, and to analyze its effects. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire survey was carried out by having convenience sampling as 200 dental technicians. An analysis of the collected data was computationally processed by using SPSS Win 19.0 program. An analytical technique was made by using statistical techniques such as frequency & percentage, t-test, One-way ANOVA analysis. The following are the analytical results of the collected materials. Results: In consequence of analyzing organizational commitment level in research subjects, there was a significant difference in the items for age, task field, job position in charge, career in dental laboratory technology, and monthly income(p<.05). The average of the item for organizational commitment level stood at 3.29, thereby having been indicated to be high. As a result of analyzing turnover intention level in research subjects, there was a significant difference in the items for task field, job position in charge, career in dental laboratory technology, and monthly income(p<.05). The average of the item for turnover intention reached 3.04, thereby having appeared to be relatively high. As for a correlation between organizational commitment and turnover intention, all variables were shown to have inverse correlation at a significant level. In consequence of conducting regression analysis in order to analyze the influence of organizational commitment upon turnover intention, a factor of having the most impact on turnover intention appeared to be normative commitment. The test value of the model was statistically significant. The explanation power about this was indicated to be 26.9%. Conclusion : In the above findings, the dental technicians are considered to need to be immersed in work with a sense of mission in performing job in charge, to strive to possibly have an opportunity of achievement and self-growth, and to perform a research and development in a manpower management strategy such as turnover prevention.
The new concept of agricultural water supply potential, which is mean annual turnover rate times unit storage capacity, was introduced for agricultural reservoirs. We investigated characteristics of mean annual turnover rate and unit storage capacity for agricultural reservoirs with storage capacity of over $1million\;m^3$. The curve of agricultural water supply potential represents change in mean annul turnover rate according to change in unit storage capacity. The mean annual turnover rate and unit storage capacity in the reservoirs with high minimum storage ratio are significantly higher than those in the reservoirs with low minimum storage ratio. Most of unstable water supply reservoirs showed low mean annual turnover rate or low unit storage capacity, indicating that mean annual turnover rate may be an index of stability degree for agricultural water use. The reservoirs with mean annual turnover rate of over 2 and unit storage capacity of over 0.8 m may be estimated as the stable water supply zone for 10 frequency dry year. The reservoirs with high agricultural water supply potential can belong to the wide range of stable water supply zone. The results suggest that relation between mean annual turnover rate and unit storage capacity may be used in evaluating stability degree for agricultural water supply in the reservoirs.
