부산 404호의 조종성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Maneuverabilities of the M . S . Pusan 404-Tests by a Series of Turning Circles , New Course Keeping and Spiral)

  • Generally a navigator evaluated the maneuverability of his ship by the scale of turning circle which was described only by the largest rudder angle of the port and starboard sides. But to have the sufficient knowledge of his ship's maneuvering characteristics he should consider the data about the new course keeping test, the spiral test, and the turning circle tests in accordance with the rudder angles together. In this paper the author performed the above tests to study the maneuverability of the stern trawler M.S. Pusan 404 which is a training ship of the National Fisheries University of Pusan. The obtained results are summarized as follows: 1. When the rudder angles being 5。, 10。, 20。, 30。, 35。 the advances of the starboard side turning circles were 12.8, 8.2, 4.8, 2.9, 2.7 times as large as the length of the ship, and of the port side turning circles were 13.3, 8.7, 5.4, 3.5, 2.9, time as large as the large as it. Under the same conditions the tactical diameters were 15.1, 9.7, 5.2, 3.1, 2.8 times as large as the length of the ship, for starboard side, and 17.2, 12.4, 6.4, 3.7, 3.2 times as large as it for port side. 2. As the rudder angle being increased the ratio of the advance to the tactical diameter was nearly 1 and her obeying ability was better than that of the small angle. 3. The mean values of the rates of speed reduction during the steady turning motion were 0.96, 0.92, 0.82, 0.71, 0.65 in accordance with the rudder angles. 4. The relative formulas between the distance to the new course y and the altering course x were as follows: When rudder angles being 10。, 20。, 30。, y=52.2222+1.6133x, y=48.750+0.9383x, y=39.250+0.655x respectively. 5. There was little difference of the distance to the new course between rudder angle 20。and 30。, and so it is desirable for a navigator to a navigator to use the small rudder angles unless sudden emergencies. 6. Though her rudder angle being small her course stability was good according to the spiral tests.

부산 402호의 조종 성능에 관한 연구 (Maneuverabilities of the M . S . Pusan 402)

  • The maneuverabilities of the M. S. PUSAN 402 are studied, based on maneuvering indices and the data obtained from her Z test. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. The maneuvering indices K' and T' of the M. S. PUSAN 402 are 1. 490, 1.030 at 10$^{\circ}$ Z test and 2.644, 1.153 at 20$^{\circ}$ Z test and 3.382. 1. 027 at 30$^{\circ}$ Z test respectively. The above calculated values K', T' showed that her maneuverabilities are more increased when the rudder is used to large angle than to smaIl angle. 2. As her maneuvering indices K' and T' at 10$^{\circ}$ Z test are higher than the standard maneuvering indices of fishing boats, her turning ability was found to be higher but her obeying ability lower. 3. When the M. S. PUSAN 402 took a turn at her 10$^{\circ}$ test, running distance was about 8.4 times her own length and didn't exceed the standard maneuvering distance, 5 to 11 times ship's own length, therefore she was considered to have good maneuverabilities syntheticaIly.

'새바다호의'의 조종성능에 관한 연구 (MANOEUVRABILITIES OF THE M.S. 'SAEBADA')

  • 부산수산대학실습선 '새바다'(GT: 2,275.7ton)에 관한 조종성능을 구명하기 위하여, 실선에 의한 Z 조종시험을 한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. '새바다'호의 $10^{\circ}Z$시험에서의 선회성지수 K'값은 1.052, 추종성지수 T' 값은 0.815, $20^{\circ}Z$ 시험에서의 K'값은 0.925, T'값은 0.502, $30^{\circ}Z$ 시험에서의 K' 값은 0.877, T' 값은 0.441로서, 소타각사용시의 조종성능과 대타각사용시의 조종성을 비교하여 보면, 대타각을 사용할 때 보다 추종성을 좋아지나 선회성을 낮아진다는 것을 알 수 있다. 2. '새바다'호의 $10^{\circ}Z$ 시험에서의 선회성지수 K' 값과 추종성지수 T' 값은 어선의 표준식에 가까움으로 어선으로서 양호한 조종성능을 가지고 있다고 볼 수 있었다. 다만 길이와 크기에 비하여 K'값이 약간 적은 수치이며, $10^{\circ}Z,\; 20^{\circ}Z,\;20^{\circ}Z$ 시험에서의 회두각곡선의 overshoot angle이 약간 크므로 추종성은 좋으나 선회성은 낮은 편임을 알 수 있었다. 3. '새바다'호의 조종성능은 추종성에 비하여 선회성이 낮으므로 선회경도 크게 되며, 또한 대각도전타시에 비하여 선회성이 낮아지므로, 충돌이나 좌초를 회피하기 위하여 대각도전타를 할 경우에는 안전한게 접근거리를 크게 두어 한기전타하는 등 조선상주의를 요한다. 4. '새바다'호의 $10^{\circ}$시험에서의 1조작간항주거리하는 배 길이의 약 8.6배로서 일반선박의 조종성표준거리 $5\~11$배의 이내가 되므로 '새바다'호의 조종성능은 총합적으로 양호하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Effects of Low Visual Acuity Simulations on Eye-Hand Coordination and Brainwaves in Healthy Adults

  • Objective: In general, macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma generally cause visual injury in clinical settings. This study aimed to examine the effects of low visual acuity simulations on hand manual dexterity function and brainwaves in healthy young adults. Design: Cross-sectional study design Methods: This study was an observational, cross-sectional study. Seventy healthy young adults participated in this study. To evaluate the effects of low visual acuity simulations on hand function and brain waves, this study involved four different visual conditions including (1) normal vision, (2) simulated cataracts, (3) simulated glaucoma, and (4) simulated macular degeneration. The hand function was measured to use the Minnesota manual dexterity test (MMDT), and the brainwaves was also measured to use the electroencephalography. Results: In hand function, placing and turning performance on the MMDT in the normal visual condition was significantly different than that in the cataract and macular degeneration conditions (p<0.05), and the placing performance was significantly differred in the normal condition than that in the simulated glaucoma. However, turning was not significantly different in the normal condition than that in the simulated glaucoma. The alpha, beta, and gamma waves did not significantly differ among the four visual conditions (p>0.05). Conclusions: The results suggest that limited visual information negatively affects the ability to perform tasks requiring arm-hand dexterity and eye-hand coordination. However, the effectiveness of low visual acuity on the brainwaves should be further studied for rehabilitative evidence of visual impairment.

대기차량 최소화를 위한 주기변동기반 (Cycle-free based) 동적 신호시간 결정모형 개발 (Development of a Cycle-free Based, Coordinated Dynamic Signal Timing Model for Minimizing Queue-Lengths (Using Genetic Algorithm))

  • 본 연구에서는 평균차량통행량 대신 매주기마다 입력되는 대기차량, 차량도착율을 기초로 대기차량을 최소화하는 동적신호시간 결정모형을 개발하였다. 본 모형은 각 진입로에서의 대기차량예측모델을 기초로 하여 다음 주기에서의 대기차량을 예측한 후 유전자 알고리즘을 적용하여 신호시간을 산출하였다. 본 모형에서 산출된 신호주기와 녹색시간은 대기차량길이를 최소화하는 신호시간으로서 교차로간의 연동효과를 고려하여 실시간 교통 상황에 따라 주기별로 변화한다. 본 모형은 3개의 교차로로 구성되어 있는 간선도로를 대상으로 적용하였다. 이 모형은 MATLAB으로 구현하였으며, 동일한 조건 하에서 정주기식으로 신호시간을 주었을 때의 통과차량, 주기, 현시, 대기차량 등을 구하여 본 모형의 결과와 비교 및 평가를 실시하였다. 실험결과 포화상태나 포화상태의 경우 모두 정주기식보다는 동적으로 신호를 계산하는 본 모형이 더 좋은 결과를 나타내었다. 또한. 적합도 함수를 변형하여 Inbound, Balanced, Outbound 연동상황을 설정하여 수행한 경우 주방향의 대기차량이 상대적으로 다른 방향에 비해 감소하였으며, 주방향에 대한 연동효과를 나타내었다.

조종성지수에 의한 충돌회피동작의 양적 파악에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Quantative Analysis of a Ship's Collision Avoding Action by Using the Maneuvering Indices)

  • The Maneuvering Indices of a ship are the values that decide the quantity of her motion in turning when her rudder is turned over to an angle to the starboard or the port. They consist of two kinds of indices, one of which is called index K and the other, index T. Index K decides a ship's turning ability and index T does the length of time delay of a normal turning motion after her rudder has finished the turn of an ordered angle. Generally, the values of the indices are calculated through some mathematic formulas with figures of her heading degrees recorded at a fixed time intervals during her Z test. The values of the same kind index of a ship appear differently according to the ship'sspeed, trim, rudder angle and loaded condition, etc. In this paper, the author analyzed all the amthematic formulas required to calculate the values of the indices in their forming process and examined them from the point of mathematics and dynamics and also actually figured out the values of maneuvering indices of the M.S. "HANBADA", the training ship of Korea Merchant Marine College through her Z test. The author supposed a case in which two same typed ships as the "HANBADA" in size, shape and conditions were approaching each other in meeting end on situation and each ship turned her rudder hard over to the starboard respectively when they approached to the distance of 3 times as long as the ship's length. The author worked out mathematic formulas calculating forward and transverse ship's motions within the above mentioned situation for the quantative analysis of the collision avoding action to certify whether they are in collision status or not. Applying the calculated values of the maneuvering indices of the "HANBADA" to the motion calculating formulas, the author found out the two ships were passing over each other with the clearing distance o 39m between their port quarters. With the above mentioned examinations and explanations, the author demonstrated that a ship's motion in any collision avoiding action can be shown with quantities of time and distance within reliable limit.istance within reliable limit.

  • 최근 선박의 좌초 및 추돌 사고로 인한 해양오염이 심각해짐에 따라 선박의 조종성능에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있는 가운데 IMO에서는 Resolution MSC.137을 채택함으로써 조종성능에 대한 국제적인 기준이 강화되었다. 선박의 조종성능을 향상시키기 위해서는 여러 가지 방법이 있으나 본 연구에서는 타의 양적 증가가 조종성능 향상에 얼마나 기여하는지를 알아보고자 한다. 조종성능 평가 방법으로 수치 시뮬레이션을 이용하였고, 대상선형은 공시선형인 Mariner Class Vessel로 하였다. 조종성능 평가 방법은 선회 시험과 지그재그 시험을 수행하였고, 고 양력 타의 적용은 수학모델에서 타와 관련된 동유체력 미계수의 값을 양력 증가에 따라 변화 시켜 조종성능의 변화를 예측하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 타의 양력 증가로 인해 선회성능 개선이 예상되나, 변침성능을 저해할 가능성이 있는 것을 확인하였다.

Effects of therapeutic horse-riding program on the walking ability of students with intellectual disabilities

  • The purpose of this study was to determine if an 8-week therapeutic riding (TR) program was effective in improving the walking ability of students with intellectual disabilities. Thirteen students diagnosed with intellectual disabilities participated in the TR program. TR sessions were conducted twice a week (30 min per session), with a total of 16 rides taking place over an 8-week period. A gait measurement analyzer was used to measure progress based on a turn test (6-m walking and turning test), walk test (10-m walking), and timed up and go (TUG) test. Measurements were made three times: before horse-riding (P0), after 4 weeks (8 rides) of horse-riding (P1), and after 8 weeks (16 rides) of horse-riding (P2). Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software (ver. 22.0). Descriptive statistics were generated on the general characteristics of the subjects, and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to verify the normality of the data. Because of the lack of normality, the data were analyzed using a nonparametric method and the significance level was set to 0.05. Measurements of the duration of the forward gait cycle (s) in the turn test and the forward gait speed (m/s) in the walk test indicated improved walking ability after the TR program (p < 0.001); the stride length (% height) also increased significantly (p < 0.05). The walk test revealed a significant effect of the program on the duration of the forward gait cycle (p < 0.05), while there were significant improvements on the left and right of the elaborated strides (p < 0.001). No significant improvement in TUG test performance was observed after the TR program. In this study, an 8-week TR program had positive results on gait. Therefore, further research is merited, where TR programs are likely to improve the walking ability of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

가다랑어 채낚기 어선의 조종 성능에 관한 연구 (Maneuverabilities of Skipjack Pole and Liner)

  • 총톤수 240 톤급 가다랑어 채낚기 어선의 조종성능을 연구하기 위하여, 실선에 의한 Z실험을 행한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. $10^{\circ}$Z실험에서의 선회성지수 K'는 0.611, 추종성지수 T'는 1.094, 20$^{\circ}$Z시험에서의 K'는 0.622, T'는, 1.695, 30$^{\circ}$Z시험에서 K'는 1.367로서 추종성은 $10^{\circ}$타각, 선회성은 20$^{\circ}$타각을 사용할 때 가장 좋으며, 전체적으로는 $10^{\circ}$의 소타각을 사용할 때의 조종성능이 20$^{\circ}$, 30$^{\circ}$의 대타각을 사용할 때 보다 더 양호하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 2. 조종성지수 K' 및 T'가 다른 종류의 선박들의 그것과 비교하여 작으므로, 추종성은 양호하나 선회성은 나쁘다는 것을 알 수 있다. 3. $10^{\circ}$Z시험에서의 1조작간 항주거리인 5~11배 이내이므로 종합적으로는 조종성능이 양호하다고 볼 수 있다.

입자영상유속계를 이용한 은어 (Plecoglossus altivelis)의 유영능력 측정 (Measurement of swimming ability of silver fish (Plecoglossus altivelis) using a Particle Imaging Velocimetry)

  • As a fish way is a structure for fish migrating well toward upper stream due to breaking river flow by a dam or dammed pool, the specific fish's swimming ability is one of the main factors in making a plan and managing it. In addition, it also needs to understand the current field in fish road to evaluate its performance. This study is aimed to analyze the swimming patterns with current velocity changes using a Particle Imaging Velocimetry (PIV) in order to understand the swimming ability of silver fish (Plecoglossus altivelis) that is one of the fishes migrating through the fish way of Nakdong River, and to analyze the 2 dimensional current field near to silver fish at swimming momentum. The results showed that average values of tail beat frequencies for continuous swimming with current velocity were 2.8 Hz at 0.3 m/s, 3.2 Hz at 0.4 m/s, 3.8 Hz at 0.5 m/s, respectively. The wake would be produced by direction turning of fish's tail fin and its magnitude would be verified by the difference of pressure. The pressure turbulent flow produced by its tail beat would be made in both sides, and then, the magnitude of wake should be the source of moving direction. The swimming momentum will help to support the primary factor in making a suitable design for specific fish species migrating toward the district river.
