  • CFD code that simulates stator-rotor interactions is developed applying parallel computing method. Modified Multi-Block Grid System which enhances perpendicularity in grid and is appropriate in parallel processing is introduced and Patched Algorithm is applied in sliding interface which is caused by movement of rotor. The experimental model in the turbo-machine is composed of 11 stators and 14 rotors. Analyses on two test cases which are one stator - one rotor model and three stators - four rotors model are performed. The results of the two cases have been compared with the experimental test data.

  • Reducing drag of vehicles are the main concern for the body shape designers in order to lower fuel consumption rate and to aid the driving stability. The drag of bluff bodies like transportation vehicles is mostly pressure drag due to the flow separation, which can minimized by controlling the location and size of the separation bubble. In the present study, the TURBO-3D code is incorporated with optimal algorithm based on analytical approximation method to obtain optimal afterbody shape of the MIRA Model corresponding to the lowest drag coefficient. For this purpose three mutually independent afterbody angles are chosen as design variables, while the drag coefficient is chosen as an objective function. It is demonstrated in the present study that an optimal body shape having lowest drag coefficient which is about $6\%$ lower than that of the original shape has been successfully obtained within number of iterations of the optimal design loop.

  • In this paper, it proposes an efficient iterative stopping rules using absolute mean values for the LLR difference values between the first and second decoder in the present decoding process. It is verifying that the proposal algorithm can be reduced the average number of iterations compared to conventional scheme with a negligible degradation of the error performance.

  • An optimization process was developed to improve mixed-flow pump performance. The optimization process was combined with CFX (a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code) and HEEDS (an optimization code). CFX is a widely used CFD software for turbo machinery, whereas HEEDS, which uses the SHERPA algorithm, is a newly introduced optimization code. HEEDS can use a large number of optimization variables; thus, it is possible to effectively consider interaction effects. In this paper, an impeller model, which is already optimized with design of experiments (DOE), is used as the base model. The optimization process developed in this paper shows an improved design within an acceptable timeframe.

  • The cryogenic fluid is the propellant for the liquid rocket engine. The design of space launcher vehicle is guided by minimum size and weight criteria, so the turbo pump solicits high impeller speed. Such high speed results in a zone of pressure drop below vapor pressure causing caivtation around inducer blades. The cryogenic fluid has different characters from isothermal fluid like water. The cryogenic fluid has very sensible thermodynamic properties and the phase change undergoes evaporative cooling. So, the developed code has to be modified cavitation modeling and it is added the energy equation for temperature sensitivity.

  • AT-DMB system has been developed to increase data rate up to double of conventional T-DMB in the same bandwidth while maintaining backward compatibility. The AT-DMB system adopted hierarchical modulation which adds BPSK or QPSK signal as enhancement layer to existing DQPSK signal. The enhancement layer signal should be small enough to maintain backward compatibility and to minimize the coverage loss of conventional T-DMB service coverage. But this causes the enhancement layer signal of AT-DMB susceptible to fading effect in transmission channel. A turbo code which has improved error correction capability than convolutional code, is applied to the enhancement layer signal of the AT-DMB system for compensating channel distortion. However there is a need for other solutions for better reception of AT-DMB signal in receiver side without increasing transmitting power. In this paper, we propose adaptive array antenna system with Eigen-space beamforming algorithm which benefits beamforming gain along with diversity gain. We analyzed the reception performances of AT-DMB system in indoor and mobile environments when this new smart antenna system and algorithm is introduced. The computer simulation results are presented along with analysis comments.

  • In the underwater communication, the performance of system is reduced because of the inter-symbol interference occur by the multi-path. In the recent years, to deal with poor channel environment and improve the throughput, the efficient concatenated structure of equalization, channel codes and Space Time Codes has been studied as MIMO system in the underwater communication. Space Time Codes include Space Time Block Codes and Space Time Trellis Codes in underwater communication. Space Time Trellis Codes are optimum for equalization and channel codes among the Space Time Codes to apply in the MIMO environment. Therefore, in this paper, turbo pi codes are used for the outer code to efficiently transmit in the multi-path channel environment. The inner codes consist of Space Time Trellis Codes with transmission diversity and coding gain in the MIMO system. And Zero Forcing method is used to remove inter-symbol interference. Finally, the performance of this model is simulated in the underwater channel.

  • Satellite signal is excellent broadband, can provide the same information in a wide range, but there is a disadvantage that much less of the security level of the data. Therefore, supplementation of safety is a serious problem than anything in the satellite communication. In this paper, it was simulated by applying ARIA in encryption technique and by applying transport mode, tunnel mode in security header AH and ESP in order to examine the effect of IPsec VPN. In addition, we had compare with general services that do not apply encryption in order to analyze the impact of the encryption algorithm. Channel, by applying the Markov channel and adding AWGN, is constituted a satellite communication environment. In case of retransmission based error control scheme, we applied Type-II HARQ scheme and Type-III HARQ scheme which are performance is a good way in recently, and it is constituted by a turbo code and BPSK modulation scheme. we were analyzed performance in BER and Throughput in order to compare the simulation more effectively.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient joint demodulation and decoding scheme for FTN (Faster than Nyquist) systems. Several previous works have demonstrated that ISI (Inter Symbol Interference) cancellation schemes based on BCJR (Bahl-Cocke-Jelinek-Raviv) algorithm are suitable for FTN systems. Unfortunately, required complexity of the previous ISI cancellation schemes is very high, especially when a multi-level modulation scheme is employed. In this paper, we propose a joint demodulation and decoding scheme for FTN systems with an iteratively decodable channel coding scheme and a multi-level modulation. Compared with the previously proposed schemes, the proposed scheme not only offers reliable performance but also requires relatively low complexity. Also, the proposed scheme can be easily applied to the FTN system with a multi-level modulation with a minor modification.

  • The combination of multiple antennas and multi-carrier code division multiple-access (MC-CDMA) is a strong candidate for the downlink of the next generation mobile communications. The study of such systems in scenarios that model real-life trans-missions is an additional step towards an optimized achievement. We consider a realistic MIMO channel with two or four transmit antennas and up to two receive antennas, and channel state information (CSI) mismatches. Depending on the mobile terminal (MT) class, its number of antennas or complexity allowed, different data-rates are proposed with turbo-coding and asymptotic spectral efficiencies from 1 to 4.5 bit/s/Hz, using three algorithms developed within the European IST-MATRICE project. These algorithms can be classified according to the degree of CSI at base-station (BS): i) Transmit space-frequency prefiltering based on constrained zero-forcing algorithm with complete CSI at BS; ii) transmit beamforming based on spatial correlation matrix estimation from partial CSI at BS; iii) orthogonal space-time block coding based on Alamouti scheme without CSI at BS. All presented schemes require a reasonable complexity at MT, and are compatible with a single-antenna receiver. A choice between these algorithms is proposed in order to significantly improve the performance of MC-CDMA and to cover the different environments considered for the next generation cellular systems. For beyond-3G, we propose prefiltering for indoor and pedestrian microcell environments, beamforming for suburban macrocells including high-speed train, and space-time coding for urban conditions with moderate to high speeds.
