액화천연가스의 냉열을 이용한 가스터빈의 성능향상 (Improvement of Gas Turbine Performance Using LNG Cold Energy)

  • This work describes analysis on the effect of inlet air cooling by the cold energy of liquefied natural gas(LNG) on the performance of gas turbines. Gas turbine off-design analysis program to simulate the influence of compressor inlet temperature variation is prepared and an inlet air cooler is modeled. It is shown that the degree of power augmentation is much affected by the humidity of inlet air. If the humidity is low enough, that is the water content of the air does not condense, the temperature drop amounts to $18^{\circ}C$, which corresponds to more than 12% power increase, in case of a $1350^{\circ}C$ class gas turbine with methane as the fuel. Even with 60% humidity, about 8% power increase is possible. It is found that even though the fuel contains as much as 20% ethane in addition to methane, the power improvement does not change considerably. It is observed that if the humidity is not too high, the current system is feasible oven with conceivable air pressure loss at the inlet air cooler.

  • Thermodynamic cycles using binary mixtures as working fluids offer a high potential for utilization of low-temperature heat sources. This paper presents a thermodynamic performance analysis of Goswami cycle which was recently suggested to produce power and cooling simultaneously and combines the Rankine cycle and absorption refrigeration cycle by using ammoniawater mixture as working fluid. Effects of the system parameters such as concentration of ammonia and turbine inlet pressure on the system are parametrically investigated. Results show that refrigeration capacity or thermal efficiency has an optimum value with respect to ammonia concentration as well as to turbine inlet pressure.

하절기 기화냉각장치 설치에 따른 가스터빈 성능변화 (Performance Change of Gas Turbine with a Evaporation Cooling System in Summer Season)

  • 본 연구는 하절기 가스터빈 압축기 입구에 설치된 기화냉각장치로 인하여 저하된 공기온도가 가스터빈 성능에 어떠한 변화를 미치는지에 대하여 해석하였다. 연구 대상은 인천화력본부 가스터빈 3호기이며, 기종은 Siemens SGT6-4000F(V 84.3A)이다. 기화냉각장치 설치 전후를 비교하기 위하여 특설계측기를 설치하였으며, 2015년 8월 3일에서 14일까지 11시부터 15시 사이에 대기온도 $29{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ 조건에서 설치 전후 각각 5회씩 총 10회에 걸쳐 정밀성능시험을 시행하고 각각의 평균값을 적용하였다. 시험 결과, 가스터빈 압축기 입구 공기온도 $4.12^{\circ}C$ 저하로 공기 밀도가 증가되어 압축기 압력비는 0.27 증가, 압축기 효율은 0.29 %p 상승, 가스터빈 엔탈피강하 효율은 0.31 %p 증가하였고, 가스터빈 효율은 0.44%p, 출력은 4,489 kW가 증대되는 효과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 습도 및 유동저항 증가에 따른 영향은 미미하였다.

  • The TES (Thermal Energy Storage) cooling system utilizing cheaper off-peak electricity has been applied just for building air-conditioning currently and causes limitation of usage rate and inefficiency of national resources utilization. In this regard, more says the necessity to apply TES system in industrial cooling system which is longer using period and wider usage. In this study, we will approve the technical and economical improvement in efficiency of industrial cooling system applied TES system by utilizing cheaper off-peak electricity and it will attribute the promotion of TES system and stabilization of supply and demand of electric power by proving the necessity to develop more efficient industrial cooling system by combining TES system.

  • 본 연구에서는 사이클은 터빈 출구로 부터 배출되는 폐열을 최대한 회수하여 얻은 증기를 연소기내에 분사시킴으로써 부가적인 압축기 및 비출력의 상향을 기할수 있다.아울러 폐열이용 암모니아 흡수기 냉동기를 구동하여 압축기 입구 온도를 낮 춤에 의해 열효율 및 비출력의 증대는 물론 대기온도 변화에 따른 기관 성능의 변동을 감소시킬 수 있다.

  • Present paper describes on/off design performance of a 50KW turbogenerator gas turbine engine for hybrid vehicle application. For optimum design point selection, relevant parameter study is carried out. The turbogenerator gas turbine engine for a hybrid vehicle is expected to be designed for maximum fuel economy, ultra low emissions, and very low cost. Compressor, combustor, turbine, and permanent-magnet generator will be mounted on a single high speed (82,000 rpm) shaft that will be supported on air bearings. As the generator is built into the shaft, gearbox and other moving parts become unnecessary and thus will increase the system's reliability and reduce the manufacturing cost. The engine has a radial compressor and turbine with design point pressure ratio of 4.0. This pressure ratio was set based on calculation of specific fuel consumption and specific power variation with pressure ratio. For the given turbine inlet temperature, a rather conservative value of $1100^\circK$ was selected. Designed mass flow rate was 0.5 kg/sec. Parametric study of the cycle indicates that specific work and efficiency increase at a given pressure ratio and turbine inlet temperature. Off design analysis shows that the gas turbine system reaches self operating condition at N/$N_{DP}$ = 0.53. Bleeding air for turbine stator cooling is omitted considering low TIT and for a simple geometric structure. Various engine performance simulations including, ambient temperature influence, surging at part load condition. Transient analysis were performed to secure the optimum engine operating characteristics. Surge margin throughout the performance analysis were maintained to be over 80% approximately. Validation of present results are yet to be seen as the performance tests are scheduled by the end of 1998 for comparison.

  • SOFC시스템 고효율화의 한 방법으로 SOFC/GT 하이브리드시스템은 유효하다. 그러나 시스템의 출력 규모가 수십 MW급의 선박용이라면 하부시스템으로 사용되는 GT시스템의 냉각방식 도입은 장치를 복잡하게 만들고 제어 또한 쉽지 않게 된다. 따라서 선박용으로는 SOFC/GT(유냉각) 하이브리드시스템보다 SOFC/GT(무냉각) 하이브리드시스템이 더 적합해 보인다. 본 연구는 SOFC/GT(무냉각) 하이브리드시스템을 구축하고 그 시스템에 대한 스택의 작동온도와 전류밀도, 가스터빈의 압력비, TIT가 시스템의 성능에 미치는 영향 등을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검토한 것으로 공기압축기 소요 동력의 증가에도 불구하고 전기적 효율은 상승되며 TIT에는 운전을 위한 제한된 온도범위가 존재한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

지열발전을 위한 칼리나 사이클의 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of the Kalina cycle for a Geothermal Power Generation)

  • The Kalina cycle simulation study was carried out for a preliminary design of a geothermal power generation system. The Kalina cycle system can be used for the utilization of a low-temperature heat sources such as geothermal and industrial waste heat that are not hot enough to produce steam. The sea/river water can be considered as a cooling media. A steady-state simulation model was developed to analyze and optimize its performance. The model contains a turbine, a pump, an expansion valve and heat exchangers. The turbine and pump were modelled by an isentropic efficiency, while a condenser, an evaporator and a regenerative heat exchanger were modeled by UA-LMTD method with a counter-flow assumption. The simulation results show that the power generation efficiency over 10% is expected when a heat source and sink inlet temperatures are $100^{\circ}C$ and $10^{\circ}C$ respectively.
