In order to study correlation of the propeller cavitation performance between a full-scale ship and a model ship for the MR Tanker, the full-scale ship and the model tests were conducted. The full-scale ship test is composed of cavitation observation, pressure fluctuation and noise measurements, which are conducted using 2 observation windows and 8 pressure transducers installed inside the full-scale ship above the propeller. The model test in the Large Cavitation Tunnel(LCT) was conducted at the same conditions as that of the full-scale ship and its results are compared with those of the full-scale ship. Through the model-ship correlation analysis, it is considered that the experimental technique for the MR Tanker class ship was verified in LCT.

In order to study the resistance test technique for the submerged body in Large Cavitation Tunnel (LCT), DARPA Suboff, submarine model publicly available was manufactured. DTRC released the resistance test data of DARPA Suboff conducted at ship speeds up to 18.0 knots in high-speed towing tank in 1990. As LCT is considered restricted waterways with walls, the resistance test results must be corrected with three wall blockage effects called buoyancy effect, solid blockage effect and wake blockage effect. Before correction, the resistance of LCT was 16~20 % higher than that of DTRC. After correction, the resistance and the resistance coefficients were compared with those of DTRC. The corrected resistance of LCT shows good agreement with that of DTRC. The residual resistance coefficient shows the difference according to the calculation method of buoyancy and frictional resistance coefficient. This paper suggests the best way for the calculation of residual resistance coefficient, On the basis of the present study, it is thought that the operating conditions for the propeller cavitation and noise tests can be drawn through LCT tests.

In order to study the self-propulsion test and analysis techniques for the submerged body in Large Cavitation Tunnel (LCT). DARPA Suboff, a submarine model publicly available was manufactured. The resistance results of DARPA Suboff was acquired from the LCT tests and compared with those of DTRC. After the wall blockage correction, the resistance results of LCT were in good agreement with those of DTRC. On the basis of the resistance results of LCT, the self-propulsion tests were conducted in LCT. The test objective was to get the full-scale propeller operating conditions for the propeller cavitation and noise tests. The test results of DARPA Suboff were analyzed in a way similar to the analysis techniques of those of the Towing Tank (TT). Another submerged body, for which self-propulsion tests were conducted in TT, was selected for results verification. The results of LCT were in good agreement with those of TT. On the basis of the present study, it is thought that the operating conditions for the full-scale submerged body can be drawn through LCT tests.
Transferring single flux quanta across a Josephson junction at an exactly determined rate has made highly precise voltage measurements possible. Making use of self-shunted Nb-based SINIS junctions, programmable fast-switching DC voltage standards with output voltages of up to 10 V were produced. This development is now extended from fundamental DC measurements to the precise determination of AC voltages with arbitrary waveforms. Integrated RSFQ circuits will help to replace expensive semiconductor devices for frequency control and signal coding. Easy-to-handle AC and inexpensive quantum voltmeters of fundamental accuracy would be of interest to industry. In analogy to the development in the flux regime, metallic nanocircuits comprising small-area tunnel junctions and providing the coherent transport of single electrons might play an important role in quantum current metrology. By precise counting of single charges these circuits allow prototypes of quantum standards for electric current and capacitance to be realised. Replacing single electron devices by single Cooper pair circuits, the charge transfer rates and thus the quantum currents could be significantly increased. Recently, the principles of the gate-controlled transfer of individual Cooper pairs in superconducting A1 devices in different electromagnetic environments were demonstrated. The characteristics of these quantum coherent circuits can be improved by replacing the small aluminum tunnel Junctions by niobium junctions. Due to the higher value of the superconducting energy gap ($\Delta_{Nb}$ = $7\Delta_{Al}$), the characteristic energy and the frequency scales for Nb devices are substantially extended as compared to A1 devices. Although the fabrication of small Nb junctions presents a real challenge, the Nb-based metrological devices will be faster and more accurate in operation. Moreover, the Nb-based Cooper pair electrometer could be coupled to an Nb single Cooper pair qubit which can be beneficial for both, the stability of the qubit and its readout with a large signal-to-noise ratio..

As for noise and vibration occurring due to construction near fish farms, engineering and the technical opinions of experts in different areas were excluded in calculating any damage. The victims tend to present only biological consulting-based opinions while construction companies tend to present information on general construction noise and vibration as they have little biological knowledge on fish. So, the National Environmental Dispute Medication Commission presented specific damage standard in 2009 through studies on standard in calculating compensation and damage assessment of farm-raised fish that were affected by noise and vibration. Currently, 140 dB re $1{\mu}Pa$ is accepted as damage standard of underwater noise in the country. This standard is the RMS value of continuous sounds for more than a second, not the impulsive sounds. To look up the data on existing studies, fish showed different reactions to underwater sounds according to the different kinds of fish such as ostariophysan or non-ostariophysan, and pinnipeds or non-pinnipeds. So, this study will present damage standards for impulsive sounds in consideration of the differences in the characteristics of the impulsive and continuous sounds.
Recently, the new subway project called "Great Train Express" is in progress. During the tunnel excavation in the center of city, vibration and noise are generated, which make an uncomfortable effect on nearby residents. In order to prepare for this situation, the construction company generally establishes a noise and vibration management plan at the site from the construction planning stage through consultation with the residents of nearby areas and establishment of countermeasures for complaints raised. However, despite the establishment of a noise and vibration management plan, civil complaints have not been fundamentally resolved due to occurring noise and vibration during the construction in progress. In order to solve this problems, one of the best solution is to provide noise and vibration simulation technology with a high sense of reality and immersion for residents of nearby areas. Considering the ease and convenience of using the system, we intend to develop a UI(User Interface) necessary for the development of a simulation system that can directly experience the air blast and vibration based on virtual reality. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of virtual reality-based air blast and vibration simulations in the future.

Without any validation of the incompressible assumption, most of previous studies on cavitation flow and its noise have utilized numerical methods based on the incompressible Reynolds Average Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations because of advantage of its efficiency. In this study, to investigate the effects of the flow compressibility on the Tip Vortex Cavitation (TVC) flow and noise, both the incompressible and compressible simulations are performed to simulate the TVC flow, and the Ffowcs Williams and Hawkings (FW-H) integral equation is utilized to predict the TVC noise. The DARPA Suboff submarine body with an underwater propeller of a skew angle of 17 degree is targeted to account for the effects of upstream disturbance. The computation domain is set to be same as the test-section of the large cavitation tunnel in Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering to compare the prediction results with the measured ones. To predict the TVC accurately, the Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation (DDES) technique is used in combination with the adaptive grid techniques. The acoustic spectrum obtained using the compressible flow solver shows closer agreement with the measured one.
In geophysical field surveys, commercial equipments often fail to resolve the subsurface target or even sometimes fail to be applied because they do not fit to the various field situations or the physical properties of the medium or target. We developed a geophysical measurement system, which can be easily adapted for the various field situations and targets. The system based on PXI with A/D converter and some stand alone equipment such as Network Analyzer was applied to borehole radar survey, borehole sonic measurement and electromagnetic noise measurement. The system for borehole radar survey consists of PXI, Network Analyzer, dipole antennas, GPIB interface is used for PXI to control Network Analyzer. The system for borehole sonic measurement consists of PXI, 24 Bit A/D converter, high voltage pulse generator, transmitting and receiving piezoelectric sensors. The electromagnetic noise measurement system consists of PXI, 24 Bit A/D converter, 2 horizontal component electric field sensors and 2 horizontal and 1 vertical component magnetic filed sensors. The borehole radar system has been successfully applied to detect the width of the artificial tunnel through which the borehole pass and to image buried steel pipe, while the commercial borehole radar equipment failed. The borehole sonic system was tested to detect the width of artificial tunnel and showed a reasonable result. The characteristic of electromagnetic noise was grasped at an urban area with the data from the electromagnetic noise measurement system. The system is also applied to characterize the signal distortion by induction between the electric cables in resistivity survey. The system can be applied various geophysical problems with a simple modification of the system and sensors.

Recently, due to the saturation of ground structures and the overpopulation of pipeline facilities requires to development of underground structures as an alternative to ground structures. Thus, mechanized tunnel construction of the shield TBM method has been increasing in order to prevent vibration and noise problems in construction of the NATM tunnel for the urban infrastructure construction. Tunnel construction plan for the tunnel line should be formed in a sharp curve to avoid building foundation and underground structures and it is inevitable to develop a shield TBM technology that suits the sharp curve tunnel construction. Therefore, this study is about the structural stability technology of the articulation jack, shield jack and skin plate for the shield TBM thrust in case of the mechanized tunnel construction that is a straight and sharp curve line. The construction case study and shield TBM operation principle are examined and analyzed by the theoretical approach. The torque of the cutter head, the thrust of the articulation jack and the shield jack, the amount of over cutting for curve is important respectively in shield TBM construction of straight and sharp curve line. In addition, it is very important to secure the stability of the skin plate structure to ensure the safety of the inside worker. This study examines the general structure and construction of the equipment, experimental simulation was carried out through numerical analysis to examine the main factors and structural stability of the skin plate structure. The structural stability of the skin plate was evaluated and optimizes the shape by comparing the loads of the articulation jack by selecting the virtual soil to be applied in a straight and sharp curve line construction. Since the present structure and operation method of the shield TBM type in domestic constructions are very similar, this study will help to develop the localized shield TBM technology for the new equipment and the vulnerability and stability review.

In this study, the internal structural design, dynamic characteristics and load analyses of the small scaled rotor blade required for LCH(Light Civil Helicopter) main rotor wind tunnel test were carried out. The test is performed to evaluate the aerodynamic performance and noise characteristics of the LCH main rotor system. Therefore, the Mach-scale technique was appled to design the small scaled blade to simulate the equivalent aerodynamic characteristics as the full scale rotor system. It is necessary to increase the rotor speed to maintain the same blade tip speed as the full scale blade. In addition, the blade weight, section stiffness, and natural frequency were scaled according to the Mach-type scaling factor(${\lambda}$). For the design of skin, spar, torsion box, which are the main components of the blade, carbon and glass fiber composite materials were adopted, and composite materials are prepreg types that can be supplied domestically. The KSec2D program was used to evaluate the section stiffness of the blade. Also, structural loads and dynamic characteristics of the Mach scale blade were investigated through the comprehensive rotorcraft analysis program CAMRADII.
