  • In most grid-connected inverters (GCI) with an LCL filter, since the design of both the LCL filter and the controller is done separately, considerable tuning efforts have to be exerted when compared to inverters using an L filter. Consequently, an integrated co-design of the filter and the controller for an LCL-type GCI is proposed in this paper. The control strategy includes only a PI current controller and a proportional grid voltage feed-forward controller. The capacitor is removed from the LCL filer and the design procedure starts from an L-type GCI with a PI current controller. After the PI controller has been settled, the capacitor is added back to the filter. Hence, it introduces a resonance frequency, which is identified based on the crossover frequencies to accommodate the preset PI controller. Using the proposed co-design method, harmonic standards are satisfied and other practical constraints are met. Furthermore, the grid voltage feed-forward control can bring an inherent damping characteristic. In such a way, the good control performance offered by the original L-type GCI and the sharp harmonic attenuation offered by the latter designed LCL filter can be well integrated. Moreover, only the grid current and grid voltage are sensed. Simulation and experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed design methodology.

  • Silla Great Bell was made to reproduce King Seongdeok Divine Bell and it was restored to have the same structure and patterns. The most difficult problem was to reproduce the magnificent striking sound and dynamic hum tone with strong beat like in King Seongdeok Divine Bell. Especially, beating sound is attributed to the uncontrollable asymmetry occurring in the casting process, so it can not be predicted or controlled before casting. In this study, we introduce the method and process to make Silla Great Bell have a strong beat with a proper period. Position conditions of mode pairs and striking point for a strong beat were identified. Bell thickness was locally decreased to make proper period of beat. The process was performed according to the simulation result of an equivalent bell model. As a result, the original weak and long beat was made to a strong beat with a proper period.

  • The increase in applying IT to vehicles has given birth to smart cars or connected cars. As smarts cars become connected with external network systems, threats to communication security are on the rise. With simulation test results supporting such threats to Convergence security in vehicular communication, concerns are raised over relevant vulnerabilities, while an increasing number of studies on secure vehicular communication are published. Hacking attacks against vehicles are more dangerous than other types of hacking attempts because such attacks may threaten drivers' lives and cause social instability. This paper designed a Convergence security protocol for inter-vehicle and intra-vehicle communication using a hash function, nonce, public keys, time stamps and passwords. The proposed protocol was tested with a formal verification tool, Casper/FDR, and found secure and safe against external attacks.

  • In this paper, configuration control for the Horizontal Maintenance and driving of the mobile inverted pendulum robot has been studied using ARS(Attitude Refrence System). The inverted pendulum technique is getting attention and there have been many researches on the seg-way since the US. Using its 2 freedom, a mobile inverted pendulum robot can move in various modes and Our robot performs goal reaching ARS. Mobile inverted pendulum robot fall down to the forward or reverse direction to converge to the stable point. Kalman Filter is normally used for the algorithm and numerous research is progressing at the moment. To calculate the attitude in ARS using 2 axis gyro(roll, pitch) and 3 axis accelerometers (x, y, z). In this paper we present a two wheel robot system for an autonomous mobile robot. This paper realized the robot control method which is much simpler but able to get desired performance by using the IMU and PID control.

  • In this study, we analyzed the effect of silicon oxynitride matrix on the optical properties of Au nanoparticles dispersed on composite film and explored the effectiveness of the silicon in fine tuning the refractive index of the composite film for applications in optical waveguide devices. The atomic fraction of nitrogen in $SiO_xN_y$ films was controlled by varying the relative flow ratio of nitrogen gas in reactive sputtering and was evaluated optically using an effective medium theory with Bruggeman geometry consisting of a random mixture between $SiO_2$ and $Si_3N_4$. The Au nanoparticles were embedded in the $SiO_xN_y$ matrix by employing the alternating deposition technique and clearly showed an absorption peak due to the excitation of surface plasmon. With increasing nitrogen atomic fraction in the matrix, the surface plasmon resonance wavelength shifted to a longer wavelength (a red-shift) with an enhanced resonance absorption. These characteristics were interpreted using the Maxwell-Garnett effective medium theory. The formation of a guided mode in a slab waveguide consisting of 3 $\mu$m thick Au:$SiO_xN_y$ nanocomposite film was confirmed at the telecommunication wavelength of 1550 nm by prism coupler method and compared with the case of using $SiO_2$ matrix. The use of $SiO_xN_y$ matrix provides an effective way of controlling the mode confinement while maintaining or even enhancing the surface plasmon resonance properties.

  • Although information communication technology (ICT) is long regard as very useful tool in today's construction engineering and project management environment, organizations must not only operate based upon its original setting, but also requires on-going observation, additional features and fine-tuning actions before the desirable outcome can be achieved. However, it is a very common phenomenon that organizations purchase the licensed "off-the-shelf-software" package and customize it to suit their own business need. Due to the incapability of such software and inefficient customization, the possible result is making that ICT tool not user-friendly and sometimes the whole system becomes obsolete. The purpose of this paper is to review and report those actions taken (between February 2006 and December 2010) by a construction organization to enhance the performance of its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system launched in December 2002. Such actions include: improving data inputting method; removing the transition bottleneck; introducing crystallization function; revising the organization's "Delegation and Limits of Authority"; publishing the "League Table" amongst users; integrating the 3D Mode into the system and upgrading hardware. Whilst the ultimate goals of such system are well beyond the time limit of this research study, an obvious interim result, achieved by this case studied organization, was winning a landmark project worth US$500 million after the ERP system was functioned properly and effectively. Their experience and success becomes an exemplar which can be borrowed by those companies, from managerial perspectives and as a roadmap, planning to adopt information technology (IT) strategy and use ICT tool in the construction engineering and project management framework. • An antenna arrays for a satellite navigation systems require more antenna elements to mitigate multiple jamming signals. In order to maintain the small array size while increasing the number of antenna elements, miniaturization technique is essential for antenna design. In this work, an electrically small circular microstrip patch antenna with a 3 dB hybrid coupler is designed as an element antenna, where the 3 dB hybrid coupler can yield the circularly polarized radiation characteristic. The miniaturized element antenna typically has too large capacitance in GPS L1 and GLONASS G1 bands, making it difficult to match with a single stand-alone non-Foster matching circuit (NFMC) in a stable state. Therefore, we propose a new matching technique, referred to as the hybrid matching method, which consists of a NFMC and a passive circuit. This passive tuning circuit manages reactance of antenna elements at an appropriate capacitance without a pole in the operating frequency range. The antenna array is fabricated, and the measured results show a reflection coefficient of less than -10 dB and an isolation of greater than 50 dB. In addition, peak gain of the proposed antenna is increased by 22.3 dB compared to the antenna without the hybrid matching network.

  • To improve performance, most of Web Services produce and manage User Access Logs. Through the Access Logs, the record provides information about time when the most traffic happens and logs and which resource is mostly used. Then, the log can be used to analyze. However, in case of increasing high traffics of Web Services at the specific time, the performance of Web Service leads to deterioration because the number of processing User Access Logs is increasing rapidly. To solve this problem, we should improve the system performance, or tuning is needed, but it makes a problem cost a lot of money. Also, after it happens, it is not necessary to build such system by spending extra money. Therefore, this paper described the effective Web Service's performance as using improved User Access Log performance. Also, to process the newest data in bulk, this paper includes a method applying some parts of NoSQL using Redis.

  • Frequent disconnection is connected directly to client's cache consistency problem in Mobile Computing environment. For solving cache consistency problem, research about Invalidation Report is studied. But, existent invalidation report structure comes with increase of size of invalidation report structure and decline of cache efficiency if quantity of data become much, or quantity of updated data increases. Also, while existent method confirms whole cache, invalidation report doesn't support selective listening. This paper proposes TTCI(Timestamp Tree-based Cache Invalidation scheme) as invalidation report structure that solve problem of these existing schemes and improve efficiency. We can make TTCI using timestamp of updated data, composing timestamp tree and list ID of data in updated order. If we utilize this, each client can confirm correct information in point that become own disconnecting and increase cache utilization ratio. Also, we can pare down client's resources consumption by selective listening using tree structure. We experimented in comparison with DRCI(Dual-Report Cache Invalidation) that is existent techniques to verify such efficiency of TTCI scheme.

  • As mobile robot applications increase in real life, the need of low cost autonomous driving are gradually increasing. We propose a novel vision-based real-time lane detection and tracking system that supports autonomous driving of mobile robots in constrained tracks which are designed considering indoor driving conditions of mobile robots. Considering the processing of lanes with various shapes and the pre-adjustment of operation parameters, the system structure with multi-operation modes are designed. In parameter tuning mode, thresholds of the color filter is dynamically adjusted based on the geometric property of the lane thickness. And in the unstable input mode of curved tracks and the stable input mode of straight tracks, lane feature pixels are adaptively extracted based on the geometric and temporal characteristics of the lanes and the lane model is fitted using the least-squared method. The track centerline is calculated using lane models and the motion model is simplified and tracked by a linear Kalman filter. In the driving experiments, it was confirmed that even in low-performance robot configurations, real-time processing produces the accurate autonomous driving in the constrained track.
