RCGA를 이용한 외란제거용 PID 제어기의 동조규칙 (Tuning Rules of the PID Controller Using RCGAs)

  • The new tuning rules of the PID controller for the rejection of load disturbance are proposed incorporating with real-coded genetic algorithms (RCGAs). The optimal gain parameters of the PID controller for a first-order plus time delay model are obtained based on a RCGA. Then tuning formula are derived using the tuned parameters sets potential tuning rule models and another RCGA. The performance criteria of the controller are adopted as ISE, IAE and ITAE. A series of simulation are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed tuning rules.

  • In the thermal power plant, the main steam temperature is typically regulated by the fuel flow rate and the spray flow rate, and the reheater steam temperature is regulated by the gas recirculation flow rate. However, Strictly maintaining the steam temperature can be difficult due to heating value variation to the fuel source, time delay changes in the main steam temperature, the change of the dynamic characteristics in the reheater. Up to the present time, PID Controller has been used to operate this system. However, it is very difficult to achieve an optimal PID gain with no experience, since the gain of the PID controller has to be manually tuned by trial and error. This paper focuses on tuning of the 2-DOF PID Controller on the DCS for steam temperature control using immune based multiobjective approach. The stable range of a 2-DOF parameter for only this system could be found for the start-up procedure and this parameter could be used for the tuning problem. Therefore tuning technique of multiobjective based on immune network algorithms in this paper can be used effectively in tuning 2-DOF PID controllers.

  • One of the advantages of the well-known PID controller is that it is a sufficiently flexible controller for many applications. But, when the plant parameters and disturbances are unknown or change with time, it is desirable to make automatic tuning of PID controller in order to achieve an acceptable level of performance of the control system. This paper presents a reformulation of the self-tuning pole-zero placement controller subject to some conditions and restrictions. It has the structure of a digital PID controller and is based on Vogel and Edgar's pole-zero placement design method. Various properties of this self-tuning PID controller are described and illustrated by simulation examples.

  • The most important thing in vector control scheme is the knowledge of accurate electrical motor parameters. These parameters can computed by conventional motor test, such as no-load and locked rotor tests. However, the values from these tests are different from actual motor parameters, and the adjustment process of the parameters is time consuming. This paper presents an auto-tuning method for vector control of induction motor. The tuning algorithm is based on the rotor flux behavior of the induction motor for stepwise torque current command. The transient terminal voltage caused by the undesirable variation of the rotor flux is used for tuning the slip gain $K_5$ defined as the inverse of the rotor time constant. The electrical parameters of induction motor can also calculated by this method. The presented method is evaluated through the computer simulations.

  • Integrating processes are frequently encountered in process industries. In this paper, new tuning formulae of the PID controllers for set-point tracking and load disturbance rejection are presented for integrating processes involving time delay. First, the controller parameter sets are tuned using a real-coded genetic algorithm (RCGA) such that performance criterion(IAE, ISE or ITSE) is minimized. Then, tuning rules are addressed using tuned PID parameter sets. tuning model and another RCGA. The performances of the proposed rules are tested on two processes.

  • In this paper, a methodology for estimating the model parameters of a discrete-time system and tuning a digital PID controller based on the estimated model and a genetic algorithm is presented. To deal with optimization problems regarding parameter estimation and controller tuning, pseudo-parallel genetic algorithms(PPGAs) are used. The parameters of a discrete-time system are estimated using both the model adjustment technique and a PPGA. The digital PID controller is described by the pulse transfer function and then its three gains are tuned based on both the model reference technique and another PPGA. A set of experimental works on two processes are carried out to illustrate the performance of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, a fuzzy adaptive controller is proposed for the process with large delay time and unmodelled dynamics. The fuzzy adaptive controller consists of self tuning controller and fuzzy tuning part. The self tuning controller is designed with the continuous time GMV (generalized minimum variance) using emulator and weighted least square method. It is realized by the hybrid method. The controller has robust characteristics by adapting the inference rule in design parameters. The inference processing is tuned according to the operating point of the process having the nonlinear characteristics considering the practical application. We review the characteristics of the fuzzy adaptive controller through the simulation. The controller is applied to practical electric furnace. As a result, the fuzzy adaptive controller shows the better characteristics than the simple numeric self tuning controller and the PI controller.

  • This paper presents an optimal robust LQ-PID controller design method for a second order system with time-delay to meet design specifications. By LQR formulation of the second order system with time-delay, tuning parameters of PID controller are related by the weighting factors Q and R of cost function. The selection of the weighting factors Q and R are chosen to satisfy such the design specifications as overshoot and settling time.

  • 본 논문에서는 비선형 다변수 시스템에 적응할 수 있는 신경회로망을 이용한 PID 구조를 갖는 직접 다변수 자기동조 제어기를 제안한다. 제어기에 적용되는 플랜트는 잡음, 시간지연과 상호결합항이 존재하며 파라미터가 변하는 비선형 다변수 시스템이다. 비선형 다변수 시스템은 선형부분과 비선형부분으로 분리한 형태로 구성되며, 선형제어기는 외부환경 변화에 적응할 수 있는 PID 제어기 특성을 가진 자기동조 PID 제어기 이다. 선형부분의 제어기 파라미터는 순환최소자승법으로 직접 추정하고 비선형 부분의 파라미터는 신경회로망으로 추정한다. 그리고 각 부분에서 추정한 파라미터를 합한 후 비선형 다변수 일반화 자기동조 제어기의 제어법칙에 적용한다. 제어 알고리듬의 타당성을 확인하기 위해 시간 지연이 있고 일정한 시간이 경과한 후 시스템의 파라미터가 변하는 비선형 다변수 시스템에 대해 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 하였다. 또한 기존의 신경회로망을 이용한 직접 다변수 적응 제어기에 비해 효과적이다.

  • This paper focuses on optimal tuning of nonlinear parameters of a dual-input power system stabilizer(dual-input PSS), which can improve the system damping performance immediately following a large disturbance. Until recently, various PSS models have developed to bring stability and reliability to power systems, and some of these models are used in industry applications. However, due to non-smooth nonlinearities from the interaction between linear parameters(gains and time constants of linear controllers) and nonlinear parameters(saturation output limits), the output limit parameters cannot be determined by the conventional tuning methods based on linear analysis. Only ad hoc tuning procedures('trial and error' approach) have been used. Therefore, the steepest descent method is applied to implement the optimal tuning of the nonlinear parameters of the dual-input PSS. The gradient required in this optimization technique can be computed from trajectory sensitivities in hybrid system modeling with the differential-algebraic-impulsive-switched(DAIS) structure. The optimal output limits of the dual-input PSS are evaluated by time-domain simulation in both a single machine infinite bus(SMIB) system and a multi-machine power system in comparison with those of a single-input PSS.
