유도초음파를 이용한 열 교환기 튜브 결함 탐상 (Inspection of Heat Exchanger Tubing Defects with Ultrasonic Guided Waves)

  • 본 연구에서는 유도초음파를 이용하여 열 교환기와 증기발생기 튜브의 결함을 비파괴적으로 탐상하고 그 크기를 산정하였다. 이론적인 해석을 위해 인코넬 (Inconel) 튜브에 대한 위상 및 군속도 분산선도를 Longitudinal 모드와 Flexural 모드에 대해 구하였다. 튜브의 원주방향 레이저노치와 튜브 지지대 하단의 방전가공결함(EDM wear)을 각각 비대칭 및 대칭 탐촉자 세트를 사용하여 탐상하였다. 실험결과 방전가공결함은 L(0, 2), L(0, 3), L(0, 4) 모드로 탐상되었으며, 그 중 L(0, 4) 모드가 결함으로부터 가장 잘 반사되었다. 레이저노치의 경우에는 L(0, 1) 모드 주변의 Flexural 모드가 결함을 탐상하고 크기를 산정하는데 사용될 수 있음을 보였다.

Wear, microleakage and plastic deformation of an implant-supported chair-side bar system

  • PURPOSE. This in-vitro study was designed to evaluate retention forces, microleakage and plastic deformation of a prefabricated 2-implant bar attachment system (SFI-Bar, Cendres+$M{\acute{e}}taux$, Switzerland). MATERIALS AND METHODS. Two SFI implant-adapters were torqued with 35 Ncm into two implant analogues. Before the tube bars were finally sealed, the inner cavity of the tube bar was filled with liquid red dye to evaluate microleakage. As tube bar sealing agents three different materials were used (AGC Cem (AGC, resin based), Cervitec Plus (CP; varnish) and Gapseal (GS; silicone based). Four groups with eight specimens each were tested (GS, GS+AGC, AGC, CP). For cyclic loading, the attachment system was assembled parallel to the female counterparts in a chewing simulator. The mean retention forces of the initial and final ten cycles were statistically evaluated (ANOVA, ${\alpha}{\leq}.05$). RESULTS. All groups showed a significant loss of retention forces. Their means differed between 30-39 N initially and 22-28 N after 50,000 loading cycles. No significant statistical differences could be found between the groups at the beginning (P=.224), at the end (P=.257) or between the loss of retention forces (P=.288). Microleakage occurred initially only in some groups but after 10,000 loading cycles all groups exhibited microleakage. CONCLUSION. Long-term retention forces of the SFI-Bar remained above 20 N which can be considered clinically sufficient. The sealing agents in this study are not suitable to prevent microleakage.

철계 금속 마이크로 절삭 가공시 저온 환경에서의 버 발생에 관한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on Burr Formation of Micro Cutting Process with the Ferrous Metal at tow Temperature)

  • In this paper, a basic study on micro cutting process with SM20C at low temperature environment was performed. In macro cutting fields, the cryogenic cutting process has been applied to cut the refractory metal but, the serious problem may be generated in micro cutting fields by the cryogenic environment. However, if the proper low temperature is applied to micro cutting area, the cooling effect of cutting heat is expected. Such effect can make the reduction of tool wear and burr formation. For verifying this possibility, the micro cutting experiment at low temperature was performed and SEM images were analyzed.

관통균열이 존재하는 증기발생기 전열관의 파열압력 평가 (Burst Pressure Evaluation for Through-Wall Cracked Tubes in the Steam Generator)

  • Operating experience of steam generators shows that the tubes are degraded by stress corrosion cracking, fretting wear and so on. These defected tubes could stay in service if it is proved that the tubes have sufficient structural margin to preclude the risk of tube bursting. This paper provides detailed plastic limit pressure solutions for through-wall cracks in the steam generator tubes. These are developed based on three dimensional(3D) finite element analyses assuming elastic-perfectly plastic material behavior. Both axial and circumferential through-wall cracks in free span and in u-bend regions are considered. The resulting limit pressure solutions are given in a polynomial form, and thus can be simply used in practical integrity assessment of the steam generator tubes.

  • 경찰관은 경찰관직무집행법 제10조의2 제1항에 의거하여 현행범인의 경우와 사형 무기 또는 장기 3년 이상의 징역이나 금고에 해당되는 죄를 범한 범인의 체포 도주의 방지, 자기 또는 타인의 생명 선체에 대한 방호, 공무집행에 대한 항거의 억제를 위하여 필요하다고 인정되는 상당한 이유가 있는 때에는 그 사태를 합리적으로 판단하여 필요한 한도 내에서 범인의 제압, 도주방지의 목적으로 수갑, 포승 동의 경찰장구를 사용한다. 그러나 수갑이나 포승을 착용한 상태의 범인이 도주하는 경우가 발생함으로 인하여, 경찰력의 낭비와 국민의 신뢰를 잃게 되고 직무수행에 막대한 지장을 초래하게 된다. 따라서 현재의 도주방지용 경창 장구의 사용체계에서 법의 개정이니 새로운 장비의 개발 없이 간단한 보조장치에 의한 도주방지용 장구착용 범죄인의 도주를 인지할 수 있게 하는 방법이 개발된다면 경찰직무에 실효성이 있을 것이다. 본 논문은 도주방지용 결속장치에 관한 것으로서 현재 사용 중인 수갑 포승 등과 같은 결박 도구에 연결하여 수배자 또는 조사 대상자가 송, 수신기가 설치된 출입문 등을 통과할 경우 경보음 등이 발생함에 따라 내부 근무자에게 인지시켜 수갑 포승 착용자가 도주하는 것을 인지하게 하는 도주방지용 결속장치에 관한 것이다. 본 논문에서 설계한 도주방지용 결속장치는 결박 도구에 장착되는 연결 장치의 연질 튜브(튜브의 내부에 구비되는 인식 태그)와 튜브의 양 끝단을 상호 결합하여 결속되는 결속부 및 상기 결속부를 상기 튜브의 내부에서 상호 연결하는 연결부를 포함한다. 결속부는 기존에 보급된 수갑 포송 등과 같은 결박 도구에 손쉽게 결속할 수 있도록 하면서 착용자가 쉽게 결속 해제할 수 없도록 결속부를 구비하며, 출입구에 매립된 송수신기를 통과할 때 경보음이 발생할 수 있도록 내부에 인식 태그를 구비하여 결박 도구 착용자들의 도주를 인지할 수 있도록 하는 효과가 있다. 또한 휴대용 송수신기와 함께 사용하면 야외 순찰차에도 사용이 가능하고, 증거물 등 외부로의 불법 유출을 손쉽게 감시하는 데에도 활용 할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 그리고 이미 지급된 수갑 포승에 보조적으로 사용이 가능하며 가격이 매우 저렴하다. 또한 탈착이 가능하여 휴대자의 사생활 침해의 소지를 없애고, 연질 튜브의 사용으로 착용자가 자해용 도구로 이용할 수 없게 하였으며, A.M Tag를 사용하여 오작동의 결함을 최소화 하였다.

The Analysis of Flow-Induced Vibration and Design Improvement in KSNP Steam Generators of UCN #5, 6

  • The KSNP Steam Generators (Youngkwang Unit 3 and 4, Ulchin Unit 3 and 4) have a problem of U-tube fretting wear due to Flow Induced Vibration (FIV). In particular, the wear is localized and concentrated in a small area of upper part of U-bend in the Central Cavity region. The region has some conditions susceptible to the FIV, which are high flow velocity, high void fraction, and long unsupported span. Even though the FIV could be occurred by many mechanisms, the main mechanism would be fluid-elastic instability, or turbulent excitation. To remedy the problem, Eggcrate Flow Distribution Plate (EFDP) was installed in the Central Cavity region or Ulchin Unit 5 and 6 steam generators, so that it reduces the flow velocity in the region to a certain level. However, the cause of the FIV and the effectiveness of the EFDP was not thoroughly studied and checked. In this study, therefore the Stability Ratio (SR), which is the ratio of the actual velocity to the critical velocity, was compared between the value before the installation of EFDP and that after. Also the possibility of fluid-elastic instability of KSNP steam generator and the effectiveness of EFDP were checked based on the ATHOS3 code calculation and the Pettigrew's experimental results. The calculated results were plotted in a fluid-elastic instability criteria-diagram (Pettigrew, 1998, Fig. 9). The plotted result showed that KSNP steam generator with EFDP had the margin of Fluid-Elastic Instability by almost 25%.

FLUID-STRUCTURE INTERACTION IN A U-TUBE WITH SURFACE ROUGHNESS AND PRESSURE DROP

  • In this research, the surface roughness affecting the pressure drop in a pipe used as the steam generator of a PWR was studied. Based on the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) technique using a commercial code named ANSYS-FLUENT, a straight pipe was modeled to obtain the Darcy frictional coefficient, changed with a range of various surface roughness ratios as well as Reynolds numbers. The result is validated by the comparison with a Moody chart to set the appropriate size of grids at the wall for the correct consideration of surface roughness. The pressure drop in a full-scale U-shaped pipe is measured with the same code, correlated with the surface roughness ratio. In the next stage, we studied a reduced scale model of a U-shaped heat pipe with experiment and analysis of the investigation into fluid-structure interaction (FSI). The material of the pipe was cut from the real heat pipe of a material named Inconel 690 alloy, now used in steam generators. The accelerations at the fixed stations on the outer surface of the pipe model are measured in the series of time history, and Fourier transformed to the frequency domain. The natural frequency of three leading modes were traced from the FFT data, and compared with the result of a numerical analysis for unsteady, incompressible flow. The corresponding mode shapes and maximum displacement are obtained numerically from the FSI simulation with the coupling of the commercial codes, ANSYS-FLUENT and TRANSIENT_STRUCTURAL. The primary frequencies for the model system consist of three parts: structural vibration, BPF(blade pass frequency) of pump, and fluid-structure interaction.

사롱의 유형과 가변성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Classification and Versatility of Sarong)

  • This thesis is based on the study of formativeness and versatility of Sarong. For the aim of the research, Sarongs were classified into two types: rectangular and tube, using its original form as the basis. These two types of Sarongs were divided into more detailed groups depending on the purposes of attire, such as skirts, dresses, and capes. To look into the formativeness and versatility of Sarong, the usage of wear and expression methods were observed based on these categories. The following results were found regarding the versatility of Sarong: First, Sarong has a wide degree of versatility in terms of usage. It can be worn as a skirt, a head scarf, a dress, a cape, or used as a carrier or even a sleeping bag, based on one's intention. The change of usage is often accompanied with the change of forms, as can be shown by the longyi of Myanmar, the tube type Sarong, which is used as briefs. Second, Sarong has a wide degree of versatility in terms of function. Variations of instrumental and expressive function of Sarong are observed simultaneously. The physical function sometimes coincides with the changes of usage as mentioned above. The way that Sarong's are expressed in different social situations changes depending on the wearer's social status, religion, or origin. So by looking at the way a Sarong is worn, others can tell if a person is going to social events such as festivals and weddings. Third, Sarong has a wide degree of versatility in terms of design. However, even if same usage and function is pursued, the design can be different based on an individual. This is because the external change of Sarong is affected by individuality or aesthetic sense of the wearer.

HIGH BURNUP FUEL TECHNOLOGY IN KOREA

  • High bum-up fuel technology has been developed through a national R&D program, which covers key technology areas such as claddings, $UO_2$ pellets, spacer grids, performance code, and fuel assembly tests. New cladding alloys were developed through alloy designs, tube fabrication, out-of-pile test and in-reactor test. The new Zr-Nb tubes are found to be much better in their corrosion resistance and creep strength than the Zircaloy-4 tube, owing to an optimized composition and heat treatment of the new Zr-Nb alloys. A new fabrication technology for large grain $UO_2$ pellets was developed using various uranium oxide seeds and a micro-doping of Al. The uranium oxide seeds, which were added to $UO_2$ powder, were prepared by oxidizing and heat-treating scrap $UO_2$ pellets. A $UO_2$ pellet containing tungsten channels was fabricated for a thermal conductivity enhancement. For the fuel performance analysis, new high burnup models were developed and implemented in a code. This code was verified by an international database and our own database. The developed spacer grid has two features of contoured contact spring and hybrid mixing vanes. Mechanical and hydraulic tests showed that the spacer grid is superior in its rodsupporting, wear resistance and CHF performance. Finally, fuel assembly test technology was also developed. Facilities for mechanical and thermal hydraulic tests were constructed and are now in operation. Several achievements are to be utilized soon by the Korea Nuclear Fuel and thereby contribute to the economy and safety of PWR fuel in Korea

R.F magnetron sputtering법으로 제조된 TiAlN 코팅 층의 열처리 특성 (Characterization of TiAlN Coated Layer with Heat Treatment Prepared by R.F Magnetron Sputtering)

  • TiAlN coatings are available in various industry fields as a wear resistant coating for high-speed machining, due to its high hardness, excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance. The corrosion resistance of TiAlN multilayer coatings is better than that of single TiN coatings. Most of TiAlN coated layers were formed by heat treatment of coating layers with a non-stoichiometric $Ti_xAl_{1-x}N$. In this study, TiAlN coated layer was prepared by R.F magnetron sputtering and investigated the thermal behavior for heat treatment at various temperature in tube furnace. The formation of large particles with porous microstructure and phase change from HCP to FCC were observed on coated layer during heat treatment over $850^{\circ}C$ and it reduced the corrosion resistance of coated TiAlN layers.
