Method for Inference of Operators' Thoughts from Eye Movement Data in Nuclear Power Plants

  • Sometimes, we need or try to figure out somebody's thoughts from his or her behaviors such as eye movement, facial expression, gestures, and motions. In safety-critical and complex systems such as nuclear power plants, the inference of operators' thoughts (understanding or diagnosis of a current situation) might provide a lot of opportunities for useful applications, such as development of an improved operator training program, a new type of operator support system, and human performance measures for human factor validation. In this experimental study, a novel method for inference of an operator's thoughts from his or her eye movement data is proposed and evaluated with a nuclear power plant simulator. In the experiments, about 80% of operators' thoughts can be inferred correctly using the proposed method.

Research on Ginseng Diseases in Korea (인삼 병 연구의 과거와 현재)

  • From the early 1,100 to 1,900, ginseng cultivation seemed to be practiced with management of the diseases which were, in general, referred to a "disaster" at that time. Farmers had individually developed their own methods to manage the disaster with a try and error from generations to generations. It was not determined until 1909, however, that plant pathogens as a new concept was involved in the disaster and thirteen ginseng diseases were reported in Korea by Japanese plant pathologists. The intensive researches have been carried out from 1978 when Korea Ginseng and Tobacco Research Institute was established. Among the ginseng diseases reported in ginseng growing countries, Altemaria Panax, Eotrytis sp., Cylindrocarpon destmctans, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora, Pythium app. Phytophthora cactomm, Sclerotinia sp., Sclerotium rolfsii, and root rot caused by nitylenchus destructor have been observed in Korea and the appropriate control methods for the major diseases were developed. However, the other nine diseases reported by former researchers have not been confirmed for their pathogenicities and/or occurrences on ginseng yetinseng yet.

  • The visual environment in an educational building, apart from providing the comfortable seeing conditions needed for the performance of a wide variety of work tasks, must also satisfy the psychological and emotional needs of learners. This paper presents study on actual illumination environment of college and comparison of economical efficiency in order to figure out illumination problems. Furthermore, it attempts to suggest an optimum design of lecture room illumination through computer simulation. We try to evaluate economical efficiency of lighting design in lecture room under the illumination plan which is based on illumination maintenance and uniformity ratio that KS. illumination standard sets.

  • Today, the conception of building architecture is changing the conception that it is a kind of product and the operator of construction try to produce excellent building through developing efficiency and materials of building component. This study improves the problematic point of the extenor tile setting, through making on experiment on the method of it and purposes doing to do the exterior tile setting of good quality as it selects out of the most conformable the method. The experimental materials choose the tile of 60$\times$108mm size which are using frequently in the exterior tile setting and mortar is made from sand of Han river and potland cement, which apply the volume mixing of the ratio 1:3. The water cement ratio (W/C)is made up 62% The methods of tile setting utilise the method of the tile setting and laying the method of the tile improved setting and laying, the method ol the pressing adhesion, the method of the improved pressing adhesion and the method of setting adherent (the method of VIBRATOR).

A Study on the Manabe Standard Form Using the Evolutionary Strategy (진화전략을 이용한 Manabe 표준형에 관한 연구)

  • The step response of the Manabe standard form[2] has little overshoot and show almost same waveforms regardless of the order of the characteristic polynomials. In some situations it is difficult to control the rise time and settling time simultaneously of the step response of the Manabe standard form To control its rise time and settling time efficiently, We develop the Manabe standard form: We try to find out the SRFS(Slow Rise time & Fast Setting time) form which has the slower rise time and faster settling time than those fo the Manabe standard form. We also consider the other three forms: FRSS(Fast Rise time & Slow Settling time), SRFS(Slow Rise time & Fast Settling time) and SRSS(Slow Rise time & Slow Settling time) forms. In this paper, by using the evolutionary strategy, we obtain all the coefficient of the four forms we mention above. Finally, we design a controller for a given plant so that the overall system has the performance that the rise time is faster, the settling time is faster than those of the Manabe standard form.

In case, we will undergo a colossal financial loss. in addition to, Guide to improve quality of operation by using the number of times of pressing and pressing pressure with cooperative private enterprise. And because of needs for Thermal, Electrical and Chemical factor analysis of connection point of sleeve, expect to try improving problems of wire presser whole our company. We expect that reduce fault and save cost by this process. Consequently, we will prevent power losing and black out due to line faults by expulsion of inferiority equipment and prevent heating and line fault. This is possible using Alarming and Auto Locking Wire Compressor that is improve on this study.

  • Since early times, paper has been the leading means of expression in human civilization. Along with the development of languages, people have used paper as their major intermediation measures to flourish the culture. At this point of time when studies in latest design are various and abundant, these fixed ideas on paper should be eliminated first for inventive thinking and freedom of expression. Because breaking the established notion helps to diversify the function of paper. We can see furniture made of paper come in useful to our ancestors in their daily life with the development of "Hanjiquot;. Each piece of paper furniture had its own function and beauty depending on processing method. Not only has been used for materials of basic modeling in the process of modern furniture designing, paper has also been used for the main material for the purpose of a new trial. If we try to find out the ways to take diverse characteristics of paper and develop them, while overcoming the defects of the material, paper has great potentiality for many kinds of use in furniture industry.

  • The determination of surface topography is believed to be extremely important in the areas of contact mechanics, adhesion and friction. In order to describe topography of various frictional surface, the harding test was carried out under different experimental conditions in try friction. And fractal descriptors was applied to frictional surface of laser modified steel with image processing system These descriptors to analyze surface structure are fractal dimension. Surface fractal dimension can be determined by sum of intensity difference of surface pixel. Topography of frictional surface can be effectively obtained by fractal dimensions.
