  • Purpose: Former research has argued that organizations in distribution channels face several issues to make a better team-based system. The purpose of the present research is to measure between employee's job performance and three major issues which disturb a solid team system. Research design, data and methodology: Scant past studies are available to guide for team practitioners which elements should be eliminated to improve team performance. To achieve this goal, the present authors obtained 267 US workers in distribution channels and conducted ANOVA test to measure the relationship between three team issues (Free-rider, Trust, and Communication) and job performance. Results: Our statistical findings clearly suggests that there was a statistically recognizable difference at the significance level of probability between the mean value of employees' job performance and three major issues, showing the high degree of job performance can be occurred by eliminating three major team issues. Conclusions: Therefore, the present research concludes that it is necessary that team-based management in the supply chain should focus on removing free-rider issues and also adopt open communication lines to overcome team-building challenges due to communication. Above all else, the ability to increase trust can be enhanced via task delegation and more team members' engagement.

  • The purpose of this paper is examine the existing relations structure and IT use for collaboration activities on supply chain and their impacts on the performance of supply chain. This study made a design of the research model that was further constructed by integrating the relationship structure, IT exploration, IT exploitation, supply chain collaboration, absorptive capacity, and knowledge creation, efficiency and efficient. The survey data were collected from 378 companies, where firms are facing increased global competitive pressure and heavily utilize SCM to retain their competitive advantages. The authors validated a measurement model with structural equation modelling and tested eight hypotheses. As a result, the absorptive capacity was closely related to trust, IT exploitation and IT exploration, but supply chain collaboration. Examining the effect of supply chain collaboration with two types of absorptive capacity, the authors found positive effect on potential absorptive capacity, but a non-significant effect on realized absorptive capacity. This finding suggests that the improving performance of supply chain not only is related to the relations structure and IT use on supply chain, but also is closely related to the absorptive capacity.

  • In order to respond to supply chain threats, active research and development efforts are underway for software tamper prevention technologies such as Secure Boot and management systems like Software Bill of Materials(SBOM). Particularly, the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is introducing standards for Trusted Platform Module(TPM) to provide a secure and trustworthy computing boot environment. This paper emphasizes the need for introducing secure booting technology for cryptographic modules to ensure that they remain safe and provide reliable functionality even in the face of supply chain threats. Furthermore, it analyzes vulnerabilities in cryptographic modules verified by the ISO/IEC 19790 standard and proposes security requirements for secure booting of cryptographic modules to address these vulnerabilities.

  • As apparel manufacturers and fabric suppliers are positioned in the middle of the apparel supply chain, these supply chain members build up a partnership to establish a win-win mutual relationship and to gam global competition. This study aimed to provide useful suggestions in setting up operational strategies by investigating the current state of a partnership between apparel manufactures and fabric suppliers. Partnership variables were included as: cooperative attitude, information sharing, interdependency, communications, strategic fit trust and commitment. Manufacturers' performance included productive/economic/emotional performance. A questionnaire was distributed to apparel manufactures who are doing business with fabric suppliers. A total of 101 complete questionnaires were used for further analysis. The results were as follows; First, apparel manufacturers do business with $10\~20$ fabric suppliers mainly, duration of business relation with main partners ranged from 1 year to 30 years, with 7 years on average. Among criteria with which apparel manufactures select fabric suppliers, quality and delivery-time were the most important. Second, cooperative attributes, communications, and strategic fit were positively related with trust. The higher commitment led to the high level of interdependency and strategic fit and tend to more trustworthy. Trust and commitment were significantly re lated with manufacturers' performance(i.e., productive/economic/emotional performance). This study is expected to contribute to increase the better performance for domestic apparel manufacturers.

  • The rapid trends toward outsourcing and collaboration have created complex multi-tier supply chains for construction and engineering industries. Working with suppliers and sub-suppliers requires continuous integration activities in order to maximize the performances of the entire supply chain. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the performances and long-term business relationship of second-tier suppliers in directed sourcing environment. This study proposes the asset specificity, trust, information-sharing and collaboration, as antecedents variables, and collected the survey responses from the second-tier suppliers in rebar manufacturing works. The statistical results indicate that the asset specificity, trust, information-sharing and collaboration have significant influences on the long-term business relationship of rebar manufacturing second-tier suppliers, but trust has no impact on the performances of second-tier suppliers at 5% significance level. Practical implications are also discussed.

  • This study suggests a model to identify relationships between Supply Chain Partnership(SCP) and the performance of Supply Chain Management(SCM) based on apparel companies and outsourcing suppliers of finished products that are in a position of getting into Supply Chain Level on apparel industry. This research model is based on an integrated model including a relationship between relationship formation factors and partnership strengthening factors in SCP; and supply chain performance a result of that relationship. The formation factors of SCP affect emotional elements(trust, commitment) of strengthening factors, and they, in turn, impact the performance of a supply chain through behavioral elements(collaboration, information sharing)16 hypotheses were formulated to research the degree of impact of SCP on supply chain performance. Theoretical and empirical research was executed in parallel to achieve the objectives of this study. Empirical research involved a research methodology using surveys. Survey target audiences were limited to designers and merchandisers over five years of experience with apparel companies and outsourcing suppliers for finished products operating mainly in Korea. SPSS 12.0 for Windows and AMOS 5.0 were used for data and statistical analysis. Reviewing the result of research model and identification of each hypothesis, total 11 from 16 hypotheses set by this research were selected, 5 hypotheses were dropped, and 4 meaningful paths were added.

  • I analyzed the structure of a block-chain system and a block-chain-based service system. It is a decentralized book encryption system software technology that does not require a third party to secure trust between the two parties. Block chains are structured in a linked list structure. The block chain manage transaction information by blocking the transaction information, in conjunction with other blocks. As a result, I have discovered structural weaknesses in current block-chain systems and block-chain-based service systems. Once these possible structural problems are resolved, I expect that the block-chain-based service system will make various industrial contributions.

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of the growing activities of large purchasing enterprises on the trust of small and medium size contractors, which is mediated by 'purchase accompany activity'. This subject study includes the first and second contractor companies in Korea. The results of this study are as follow. First, the knowledge and cost price sharing activities of major purchase vendor with cooperative company had a positive effect on the trust of cooperative company, however this was not so with the information sharing activities in that case. Second, the trust of contractors on large purchasing enterprises was positively influenced by sharing activities with purchasing activities of major company. Third, the knowledge and cost price sharing activities of purchasing enterprise with contractors on the sharing activities were mediated by the trust of contracting company on the large purchase enterprise. According to this study, the mediated effect of trust relationship can influence a contracting company. Whereas preceding studies of sharing activities were conducted about unidirectional instruct of large purchase enterprises to small and medium size contracting companies, this study was conducted on bidirectional effects, which included knowledge, cost price, information sharing activities between contracting companies and large purchasing enterprises. Conclusively, this study showed the possibility of spreading cognitive and change about mutual benefits strategy between small and medium size contracting company and large purchasing enterprise.

  • In smart home environment, certificate based signature technology is being studied by communication with Internet of Things(IoT) device. However, block - chain technology has attracted much attention because of the problems such as single - point error and management overhead of the trust server. Among them, Keyless Signature Infrastructure(KSI) provides integrity by configuring user authentication and global timestamp of distributed server into block chain by using hash-based one-time key. In this paper, we provide confidentiality by applying group key and key management based on multi - solution chain. In addition, we propose a smart home environment that can reduce the storage space by using Extended Merkle Tree and secure and efficient KSI-based authentication and communication with enhanced security strength.
