The juvenile gobiidae, Tridentiger trigonocephatus were reared for 40 days under the salinity ranges between 0 and 33.6$\textperthousand$ to examine the effects of salinity on the survival, growth and oxygen consumption rates of the fish. Survival rates were significantly declined for the fish reared under 3.4$\textperthousand$, and daily growth rates were also reduced below 6.7$\textperthousand$ Body length and weight of gobiids reared below 6.7$\textperthousand$ were smaller than those reared above 13.4$\textperthousand$. Oxygen consumption rates in the salinity conditions $\leq$ 10.1$\textperthousand$ were significantly reduced with decreasing salinity. This study reveled that low salinity reduced survival, growth and oxygen consumption rates of the juvenile gobiids suggesting potential influence on the natural mortality of Tridentiger trigonocephalus in the estuarine areas where experience the extreme salinity fluctuations in Korean waters.

To investigate the food organisms of the Tridentiger trigonocephalus during the juveniles stage, the stomach contents of fish, captured in the intertidal zone of Chungchongnam-do Sochon-gun Su-myon Dodun-ri between on early June from end if may 1999, were observed. Total length of the juveniles of T. trigonocephalus was 5.5mm∼9.0mm size, and the participation rate of feeding was 68.5%. Main food organisms were such as copepods, amphipods, shrimp larvae, polychaete larvae, and these occupied more than dry weight 2%. Copepods among them dominated the most quantitys by average 67.5%, and next, food organismsms appeared much by order of polychaete larvae and shrimp larvae etc.. Therefore, most important food organisms of juvenile stage of T. trigonocephalus were copepods, polychaete larvae, shrimp larvae etc.

This study was carried out to observe the development of the autonomous skeletal development of the Tridentiger trigonocephalus. Seven days after hatching, the skeleton of the two line cranes began to ossify at premaxillary, maxilla and dentary when the average total length was 4.44 mm (n=5). At thirteen days after hatching, the frontal, parietal, and epiotic ossicles were observed in the cranium when the average total length was 5.62 mm (n=5). At thirty-two days after hatching, actinost and post cleithrum were ossified at the shoulder when the average total length was 11.8 mm (n=5). At forty days after hatching, the lateral ethmoid of the skull was ossified with an average total length of 13.3 mm (n=5) and all skeletal development was completed.

To investigate the feeding habits of Tridentiger trigonocephalus juveniles captured in the intertidal zone of Dodun-ri, Seocheon-gun from the end of May to early June 2012, the gut contents were observed. Feeding incidence of the juveniles increased twice a day, first in the morning and second in the afternoon. The major food organisms of the juveniles (6.5~10.0 mm NL) were composed of copepods (65.4%), amphipods (2.0%), shrimp larvae (14.5%), polychaete larvae (22.6%), and etc. These food items held more than 2 percentage in the dry weight of the total food items.
We investigated the effect of $CO_2$ exposure on the reproductive process of chameleon goby Tridentiger trigonocephalus. Rearing aquaria were exposed for 90 days to $CO_2$ gas through diffuser connected with pH controller maintaining at pH 7.2 ($156.31{\pm}7.90ppm$) in low treatment, and at pH 6.5 ($274.17{\pm}6.51ppm$) in high treatment. $CO_2$ treatment had no significant effects on survival rates although the value was decreased compared to the controls. In female fish, $CO_2$ treatment had no significant effects on gonadosomatic index (GSI), hepatosomatic index (HSI) and condition factor (CF). However, high $CO_2$ treatment decreased HSI and CF in males significantly compared to the controls (P<0.05). The spawning occurrence was 6 times in the low level $CO_2$ treatment, and 4 times in the high level $CO_2$ treatment although only once in the controls. For the histological observations, there was no significant difference in $CO_2$ treatments. However, in male fish, $CO_2$ treatment delayed the formation of sperm from spermatid compared to controls. These results suggest $CO_2$ may disrupt reproductive process by delaying gametogenesis in chameleon goby and it was more sensitive in males.
This study describes the developmental process of gonads in chameleon goby, Tridentiger trigonocephalus from the stage of hatching to 100 days after hatching (DAH). Based on histological observation, the primordial germ cells were observed in mesentery between mesonephric duct and gut at 15 DAH (total length, TL: $6.8{\pm}0.2mm$). At 20 DAH (TL: $7.9{\pm}0.1mm$), the primordial gonad began to protrude into peritoneal cavity and developed between mesonephric duct and gut. Initial ovarian differentiation was identified by the presence of ovarian cavity and oogonia in the gonads at 55 DAH (TL: $21.1{\pm}1.3mm$). Testicular differentiation started at 65 DAH (TL: $23.7{\pm}0.9mm$) with appearance of spermatogonial cells in the gonads. These findings indicate that sex differentiation in T. trigonocephalus occurs earlier in females than males, suggesting that this species can be classified as an undifferentiated gonochorist.
Seasonal variation in species composition and abundance of demersal fish in Yongil Bay were determined by analyzing samples collected using an otter trawl from January to October 1991. Of 59 species identified, Repomucenus lunatus, Tridentiger trigonocephalus, Repomucenus heguenini, Ammodytes personatus and Sillago japonica were dominated in abundance. Number of spiecies and biomass were low in winter and high in spring and summer. Species composition did not show spatial variation but showed seasonal variation. Number of spicies, abundance in number of individuals ($630 inds./10^3\;m^2$) and in biomass ($13,131g/10^3\;m^2$), and species diversity (2.00-2.54) of fish in Yongil Bay were higher than those of the coastal waters in the Yellow Sea or in the South Sea of Korea.
