Knowledge of the technology, characteristics, and market trends of the latest CPUs used in smartphones, computers, and supercomputers and the research trends of leading US university experts gives an edge to policy-makers, business executives, large investors, etc. To this end, we describe three topics in detail at a level that can help educate the non-majors to the extent possible. Topic 1 comprises the design and manufacture of a CPU and the technology and trends of the smartphone SoC. Topic 2 comprises the technology and trends of the x86 CPU and supercomputer, and Topic 3 involves an optical network chip that has the potential to emerge as a major semiconductor chip. We also describe three techniques and experiments that can be used to implement the optical network chip.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of self-esteem and the body cathexis on consumers' attitude in acceptance of fashion trends. The subjects were 460 women from in their 20's to 60's living in Daegu area. The scale for self-esteem and the body cathexis were used and self-report questionnaires were applied to measure the acceptance of fashion trends. The data were analysed by frequency, mean, factor analysis, ANOVA and Duncan-test using SPSS-package. The results were as follows. First, the results of analysing the factor of the response of acceptance of fashion trends identified three attitudes; 'active to fashion trends', 'passive to fashion trends' and 'unconcern to fashion trends'. Secondly, there were significant differences in the acceptance of fashion trends in accordance with an age. Thirdly, there were significant differences in the acceptance of fashion trends and clothing shopping orientation according to one's self-esteem and the body cathexis. It appeared that higher the level of self-esteem and the body cathexis predicts an 'active to fashion trend' attitude in acceptance of fashion trends.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends, using the keyword home health care, in articles published in the Journal of Korean Academic Society of Home Health Care Nursing over the past 10 years. Methods: An analysis was conducted of 50 home health care-based studies chosen from among the 206 studies published in the Journal of Korean Academic Society of Home Health Care Nursing from 2010 to 2019. The analysis focused on research methodology and keyword. Descriptive statistics were used to examine the frequency distribution of research methods and keywords. Results: Study participation was mainly focused on nurses (52.0%). Most of the studies used quantitative methods (96.0%), and 43 studies (86.0%) used self-report structured questionnaires. The most commonly used data analyses methods were descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance, correlation, and regression. Major keywords were home health nursing, elderly care facility, visiting nurse, home care service, home healthcare nurse, home care agencies, long-term care, and home care. Conclusion: The results of this study identified current trends and interests in the Journal of Korean Academic Society of Home Health Care Nursing. This study suggests that future studies include a variety of research methods and maintain appropriate standards of research ethics.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the current status of infectious disease research in North Korea by analyzing recent trends in medical journals from North Korea in comparison with research from South Korea. Methods: Three medical journals (Preventive Medicine, Basic Medicine, and Chosun Medicine) were analyzed from 2012 to 2016. Articles on tuberculosis (TB), malaria, and parasitic diseases were selected and classified by their subtopics and study areas. Two medical journals published in the South Korea were selected for a comparative analysis of research trends. Results: Of the 2792 articles that were reviewed, 93 were extracted from North Korea journals. TB research in North Korea was largely focused on multi-drug resistant TB and extrapulmonary TB, whereas research in South Korea more frequently investigated non-tuberculous mycobacteria. Research on parasitic diseases in North Korea was focused on protozoan and intestinal nematodes, while the corresponding South Korea research investigated various species of parasites. Additionally, the studies conducted in North Korea were more likely to investigate the application of traditional medicine to diagnosis and treatment than those conducted in South Korea. Conclusions: This study presents an analysis of research trends in preventive medicine in North Korea focusing on infectious diseases, in which clear differences were observed between South and North Korea. Trends in research topics suggest a high prevalence of certain parasitic diseases in North Korea that are no longer widespread in South Korea. The large proportion of studies examining traditional medicine implies a lack of affordable medicine in North Korea.

This paper presents a current perspective on advanced fusion research trends in the construction industry as reflected in the proceedings of International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction (ISARC) which has focused on advanced fusion technology in last decades. The paper reports the results of a 7-year analysis of papers between 2000 and 2006. The analysis focused on such data as research topics of the proceedings. The paper summarizes the data extracted from the paper and uses it to analyze advanced fusion research trends. The research result shows that the top research topics in advanced fusion research areas are construction robots and automation and intelligent construction management. The research also found that research related to advanced fusion technology is increasing throughout the world and topics are changing as current needs change.

Objectives: After the discontinuance of the Women's Health Initiative (WHI)clinical trial in the U.S. in July 2002, I thought that the domestic medical field would come to a crisis in hormonal treatment for perimenopausal and postmenopausal women. However, the domestic condition of HRT has barely changed. This study was designed to investigate world research trends in HRT and bring forward the response of the Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM) Research Group. Methods: I investigated recent domestic ;md world research trends about HRT and climacteric syndrome. Based on this analysis, I predicted western medical research trends and direction for HRT and medical care of perimenopausal and postmenopausal women. Results and Conclusions: I propose that we (TKM Research Group) have to explain the side effects of HRT for postmenopausal women and try to suggest complementary therapy for it. For that aim, the Association of Korean Medicine's effort is very important, as well as personal practitioner's actions.

The purpose of this stud)r was to critically review the trends of research methodologies of environmental education. We analyzed Journal of Korean Society for Environmental Education (vol. 1 ∼vol. 14(1)) and The Journal of Environmental Education(vol. 25∼vol. 31) to investigate the trends of methodology in EE research of Korean and other countries and to explore the tasks of it. The findings were as follows, 1) More than half of the character of the papers in Korea were actual condition (54.38%), substitute proposal (32.12%), and the papers in others countries were actual condition (39.35%), substitute proposal (33.55%). 2) The major parts of the method of the papers in Korea were literature review (26.05%), survey research (23.79%), on the other hand the papers in other counties were survey research (42.70%), literature review (25.84%). The results indicated that the research methodologies of environmental education in Korea were needed to be reinforced in the field of qualitative and quantitative research methods.

The purpose of this study was to determine characteristics of research trends in human development. For this purpose, 134 attachment articles were selected from 7 reliable Korean academic journals. The articles were analyzed by research type, subjects, data collection methods and attachment assessment methods. Results showed that (1) most of articles were published in the field of child study, (2) the greatest quantity of research type was quantitative study, (3) young children were the most frequently sampled population, and (4) the main content for child research was the role of attachment in social development and social/emotional problem behaviors. The main content for adolescent research was social development and the main theme of adult research was adjustment.
