This study was carried out to apply some basic physical and chemical treatment options including Fenton's oxidation, and to evaluate the performances and the characteristics of organic and nitrogen removal using lab-scale biological treatment system such as complete-mixing activated sludge and sequencing batch reactor(SBR) processes for the treatment of leachate from a municipal waste landfill in Gyeongnam province. The results were as follows: Chemical coagulation experiments using aluminium sulfate, ferrous sulfate and ferric chloride resulted in leachate CO $D_{Cr}$ removal of 32%, 23% and 21 % with optimum reaction dose ranges of 10,000~15,000 mg/$\ell$, 1,000 mg/$\ell$ and 500~2,000 mg/$\ell$, respectively. Fenton's oxidation required the optimum conditions including pH 3.5, 6 hours of reaction time, and hydrogen peroxide and ferrous sulfate concentrations of 2,000 ~ 3,000 mg/$\ell$ each with 1:1 weight ratio to remove more than 50% of COD in the leachate containing CO $D_{Cr}$ between 2,000 ~ 3,000 mg/$\ell$. Air-stripping achieved to remove more than 97% of N $H_3$-N in the leachate in spite of requiring high cost of chemicals and extensive stripping time, and, however, zeolite treatment removing 94% of N $H_3$-N showed high selectivity to N $H^{+}$ ion and much faster removal rate than air-stripping. The result from lab-scale experiment using a complete-mixing activated sludge process showed that biological treatability tended to increase more or less as HRT increased or F/M ratio decreased, and, however, COD removal efficiency was very poor by showing only 36% at HRT of 29 days. While COD removal was achieved more during Fenton's oxidation as compared to alum treatment for the landfill leachate, the ratio of BOD/COD after Fenton's oxidation considerably increased, and the consecutive activated sludge process significantly reduced organic strength to remove 50% of CO $D_{Cr}$ and 95% of BO $D_{5}$ . The SBR process was generally more capable of removing organics and nitrogen in the leachate than complete-mixing activated sludge process to achieve 74% removal of influent CO $D_{Cr}$ , 98% of BO $D_{5}$ and especially 99% of N $H_3$-N. However, organic removal rates of the SBR processes pre-treated with air-stripping and with zeolite were not much different with those without pre-treatment, and the SBR process treated with powdered activated carbon showed a little higher rate of CO $D_{Cr}$ removal than the process without any treatment. In conclusion, the biological treatment process using SBR proved to be the most applicable for the treatment of organic contents and nitrogen simultaneously and effectively in the landfill leachate.e.

Combination of oxidative vacuum annealing and oxygen plasma treatment can serve as a simple and efficient method of line-width modification of imprinted nanopatterns. Since the vacuum annealing and oxygen plasma could lead mass loss of polymeric materials, either one of the process can yield a narrowed patterns. However, the vacuum annealing process usually demands quite high temperatures (${\geq}300^{\circ}C$) and extended annealing time to get appreciable line-width reduction. Although the plasma treatment may be considered as an effective low temperature rapid process for the line-width reduction, it is also suffering for the lowered controllability on application to very fine patterns. We have found that the vacuum annealing temperature can be lowered by introducing the oxygen in the vacuum process and that the combination of oxygen plasma treatment with the vacuum annealing could yield the best result in the line-with reduction of the imprinted polymeric nanopatterns. Well-defined line width reduction by more than 50% was successfully demonstrated at relatively low temperatures. Furthermore, it was verified that this process was applicable to the nanopatterns of different shapes and materials.
The most valuable site of laser treatment is analgesic effect and fast healing process. If we understand an use this advantage correctly, it will helpful in relationship with patients and hospital management. So this study reported clinical cases about laser used in esthetic treatment with literature review. Periodontal treatment using laser was taken for patient who complain about gingival swelling during orthodontic treatment. And, esthetic plastic treatment using laser for alveoar reduction was taken for patient who complained about esthetic problem of maxillary gingiva. The treatment using laser can shorten the inconvenience and complicated treatment process and minimize patient's fear and discomfort during treatment procedure. So patients and clinicians can expect competent result in clinical cases. The laser for esthetic treatment was valuable.

A manufacturing process for a clutch gear which demands high strength and wear resistance, was developed by means of computer simulation. A preform was made by hot forging process and subsequent cold sizing process is applied to complete precise tooth part. Processes to obtain high dimensional accuracy and superior mechanical properties are analyzed and optimal heat treatment cycle to improve cold forgeability is introduced. Prototype was produced and the dimensional accuracy of the prototype was inspected to verify proposed process.
In general, the sheet metal and die are described by finite elements for the simulation of the metal forming processes. Because the characteristics as continuum of the sheet metal are represented with triangles and rectangles, the errors occur inevitably in finite element analysis. Many contact schemes to describe the deformation modes exactly have been introduced in order to decrease these errors. In this study, a scheme for continuous contact treatment is proposed in order to consider the realistic behavior of contact phenomena during the forming process. The discrete mesh causes stepwise propagation of contact nodes of the sheet even though the contact region of the real forming process is altered very smoothly. It gives rise to convergence problem in case that the process, for example bending process, is sensitive to the contact between the sheet and the tools. The analysis of the unconstrained cylindrical bending process without blank holder is also presented in order to investigate the effect of the proposed algorithm.

Forging process is one of the forming process and is used widely in automobile parts and manufacture industry. Especially the gears like spur gear, helical gear, bevel gear were produced by machine tool, but recently they have been manufactured by forging process. The goal of this study is to study forming process with data obtained by comparison between forward extrusion and upsetting simulation results and formability improvement by various heat treatment conditions. By analysis data of 3D FEM by upsetting and forward extrusion forming, the forming process of clutch gear develops using data based on 3D FEM analysis. Through tensile test using specimens by various heat treatment conditions, the optimal heat treatment condition is obtained by comparison the results of tensile test.
Fundamental experiences have been studied for development of pre-treatment process of Sn by-products such as solders. Dry and wet separation/recovery processes were considered by the differences of physical properties. The by-products, which are analyzed by solder metal and oxides. The metal and oxide were simply separated by dry ball-milling process for 12 hours, after that recovery metal powder might be reusable as lead or lead-free solders. In terms of wet separation process, samples were dissolved in $HNO_3+H_2O_2$ and the precipitation were analyzed by $SnO_2$. Overall efficiency of recovery might be increasing via developing simple pre-treatment process.
The treatment performances of anaerobic-aerobic activated sludge process were investigated under various operation conditions. The treatment system proposed in this study gave a relatively stable performance against hourly change of the flow rate and showed a satisfactory removal of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds under experimental conditions. The recycle ratio of mixed liquor from aerobic to anaerobic region and peak coefficient primarily controlled the extent of nitrogen removal. The recycle ratio had the optimum values which were determined by the microbial activities of nitrification and denitrification. The behavior of the treatment unit could be simulated by using the kinetic equations and reactor models which considered the treatment units as complete mixing tanks.

Errors may occur due to analysis methods and water quality during the application of the on-line particle counter In water treatment process. Errors caused by analysis methods include particle destruction by shear force due to inflow speed and tube friction, as well as interruption by screening, bubbles and contaminants. Since errors happen frequently because of these factors, it is necessary to examine and evaluate such errors during the application of a particle counter. Errors can be large due to screening and bubbles. Measurement values are effective for water analysis after filtration process. However, because of screening, only measurement values for particles above $7{\mu}m$ are valid for water with a turbidity between 3-10NTU. As particle numbers around $10{\mu}m$ increase a lot after ozone treatment, sufficient pretreatment process is necessary. Physical conditions should keep stable for inflow to decrease errors caused by shear force.
