Effects of Information Quality of Online Travel Agencies on Trust and Continuous Usage Intention: An Application of the SOR Model

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between information quality, Online Travel Agency (OTA) trust, and continuous usage intention provided by OTA through the application of the SOR(Stimulus-Organism-Response) model. To achieve the purpose of the study, 234 responses were used for analysis, and the hypotheses were tested through the SPSS v.21 program and AMOS v.21 programs. The research results can be classified into the following three categories. First, it was determined that accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness among the factors for information quality had a significant positive effect on OTA trust and continuous usage intention. Second, it was determined that OTA trust was found to have a significant positive effect on continuous usage intention. Third, it was determined that OTA trust had an indirect effect on the relationship between accuracy, timeliness, usefulness, and continuous usage intention among the factors for information quality. This study looked at the lower dimension of information quality, which was insufficient in the field of OTA. This study can be used as basic data to, in practice, build a user-centered informational provision environment by identifying the factors that promote the continuous usage intention of consumers, which is linked to the revenue of online travel agencies.

A Study of Tourism Destination Storytelling on the Tourism Value and Relationship Immersion of Travel Agency: Moderating Effect of SNS Trust (관광지 스토리텔링이 SNS 관광 가치와 여행사 관계 몰입에 미치는 연구: SNS 신뢰의 조절효과)

  • This study is focused on tourism storytelling(educational, interesting, emotional, uniqueness), SNS tourism value (functional, social), SNS trust, and immersion in travel agency relationship, which are important discussions in the tourism industry. The study subjects are verified 390 respondents who had accommodation experience using SNS, and SPSS 25.0 and Smart PLS 3.0 were used to perform the analysis. The study results are as follows. First, it was confirmed that the educational and interesting factors of tourism storytelling had a positive effect on the functional value, and that the affective relationship was not established between emotional and uniqueness factors. In addition, it was confirmed that educational, interesting, and uniqueness factors had a positive effect on social values, but emotional factors did not establish an influence relationship. Secondly, it was confirmed that SNS tourism value had a positive effect on immersion in travel agency relationship. However, there was no relationship between SNS tourism value and social value. Finally, it was confirmed that SNS trust had a moderating effect on the relationship between SNS tourism value and immersion in travel agency relationship. Through these research results and implications, comprehensive recommendations were presented to tourism industry practitioners.

Partitioning Interwell Tracer Test for NAPL Source Characterization: A General Overview

  • Innovative and nondestructive characterization techniques have been developed to locate and quantify nonaqueous phase liquids (NAPLs) in the vadose and saturated zones in the subsurface environment. One such technique is the partitioning interwell tracer test (PITT). The PITT is a simultaneous displacement of partitioning and non-partitioning tracers through a subsurface formation. Partitioning tracers will partition into the NAPL during their transport through NAPL-contaminated formations. Mean travel times of partitioning and non-partitioning tracers are used to estimate the quantity of NAPL encountered by the displaced tracer pulse. Travel times are directly proportional to the partitioning coefficient and the volume of NAPL contacted in the subsurface environment. This paper discusses the conceptual background, design and implementation of PITTs. Imported human babesiosis in the Republic of Korea, 2019: two case reports

  • Human babesiosis is a tick-borne disease induced by the genus Babesia and has been significantly reported in the Republic of Korea. This report shows the cases of 2 patients with human babesiosis who traveled to the USA in 2019. The 2 patients experienced fever and had travel histories to babesiosis-endemic regions. The diagnoses of both cases were verified by the identification of Babesia-infected red blood cells on blood smears. One patient was found to be infected with Babesia microti using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for 18S rRNA, which discovered the phylogenetic link to the B. microti strain endemic in the USA. The 2 patients recovered from fever with subsequent hemoparasite clearance. Babesiosis could be diagnosed in anyone with histories of travel to babesiosis-endemic countries and tick bites. Furthermore, Babesia-specific PCR is required for determining geno-and phenotypic characteristics.

  • This study purpose to find out how the relationship characteristics between travel agencies and airlines affect the conflict. As a result of analysis, competition, specialty, uncertainty of environment, frequency of contact and cooperation from the airline's answers have an effect on conflict while variability of environment, similarity, frequency of contact and specialty from the travel agency's answers are affected. In terms of relationship characteristics and conflict between airlines and travel agencies, competition, similarity, frequency of contact and difference of perception and communication difficulty are affected. The relationship characteristics from the result of this study makes a contribution in reducing conflict and improving positive relationship between airlines and travel agencies.

Evaluation of the Estimate Algorithms for Link Travel Time from GPS Probe Data (GPS수신정보에 의한 구간통행속도 예측 알고리즘 비교평가)

  • This study analyzed errors of data received from GPS which showed different reception characteristics based on chipset at poor reception area. The digital map made from National Police Agency shows 4% errors of length on the average. The comparison of three different algorithms - Average Spot Speed, Cumulative Travel Length from GPS with Actual Travel Time, Travel Length from Digital Map with Actual Travel Time have been conducted to find significant difference estimating travel time from GPS Data. The algorithm to estimate travel time from travel length and travel time showed the most reliable results from the others.

The Effect of Online Travel Agency's Recommendation Information on Purchase Decision Making and Reuse Intention (온라인 여행사의 추천정보가 구매의사결정과 재사용의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate how OTA recommendation influences users' purchase decision making and reuse intention based on the users' destination type. And we compare the results of domestic destination and overseas destination. Design/methodology/approach This research model was designed with the recommendation elements of OTA. And this study conducted an empirical analysis using self-administered questionnaires. The target of the analysis is an individual who has purchased hotel rooms through the OTA for the past one year. A total of 374 usable data were collected (177 domestic respondents and 197 overseas respondents) and analyzed using partial least squares analysis using Smart-PLS 3.0. Findings Two OTA recommendation characteristics - recommendation accuracy and recommendation objectivity were significant in overall model. And easy of decision making was significantly affect to OTA reuse intention. Also, only recommendation accuracy variable was revealed to significant moderating variable between domestic model and overseas model.

  • From the 1970s to the present, the number of new infectious diseases such as SARS, Ebola virus, and MERS has steadily increased. The new infectious disease, COVID-19, which began in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, has pushed the world into a pandemic era. As a result, Countries imposed restrictions on entry to foreign countries due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, which led to a decrease in the movement of tourists. Due to the restriction of travel, keywords such as "Corona blue" have soared and depression has increased. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the stress meaning network of the COVID-19 era to derive keywords and come up with a plan for a travel-related platform of the Post-COVID 19 era. This study conducted analysis of travel and stress caused by COVID-19 using TEXTOM, a big data analysis tool, and conducted semantic network analysis using UCINET6. We also conducted a CONCOR analysis to classify keywords for clustering of words with similarities. However, since we have collected travel and stress-oriented data from the start to the present, we need to increase the number of analysis data and analyze more data in the future.

Ethical Climate and Turnover Intentions in Travel Agency -Mediating of Trust and Organizational Identification- (여행사에서의 윤리적 풍토와 이직의도 -신뢰와 조직 동일시의 매개효과-)

  • The purpose of this study was to research the relationships among ethical climate, trust, organizational identification and turnover intention of employees in travel agency. Ethical climates the prevailing perceptions of typical organizational practices and procedures that have ethical content. Ethical climate involves the perceptions of rightness or wrongness present in the organization's work environment, and establishes the norms for acceptable and unacceptable behavior within the company. To accomplish this study, it was determined that the analysis derived from a hypothesis and literature reviews and data collected from 231 employees in travel agency. The results of empirical analysis showed as follows. First, Perceived ethical climate has a significant effect on trust, organizational identification and turnover intention. Second, Organizational identification has a significant effect on turnover intention while trust has no relationship with it. In addition, the mediating role of organizational identification is examined in the relationship between ethical climate and turnover intention. Based on these findings, the implications and limitations of the study were presented including some directions for future studies.
