The palpation of spinous process and transverse process of vertebra are important part of the assesment and treatment from Orthopedic manual therapy. But the palpation area is descriptive differently each of literatures. So we generally got these outcomes. : There are C2, C3, C4 and C6 process as a bony landmarks and these are important part of establish the precise location of pain appears from cervical spine. Even though C7 process regard a prominent part, it is hard to distinguish C6 and process of T1. Thru that differentiation, grab the patient's forehead and try them cervical and hyper-extension check any movement of process or put on the fingers on C7 preocess and check the movement. The palpation of thoracic spine process is the land mark which determines general level orientation in the spine easily, there are T2, T7 spinous process. However, It is depends on how do you test the patient's arm when you palpate it and it can effect on spinous process. The transverse process of C1 is the only spot for palpation in cervical spine, and T1-3, T12 transverse process can palpate it when it stands on the process. The end of T4-6, T11 is placed on middle on vertebra of transverse process and transverse process. T7-9, T10 transverse process is place on same position as spinous process which is upper part of the spine.

The fused thoracic vertebra and deformity of the lumbar vertebrae in the female Thoroughbred horse were observed macroscopically. The 11th and 12th thoracic vertebrae (T) were partially fused. They were composed of three parts between the spinous process of the 11th and 12th T, left and right caudal articular processes of the 11th T, and left and right cranial articular processes of the 12th T. The vertical surface of cranial articular process of the 11th T and left mamillary process of the 12th T were absent. The left caudal part of the transverse process of the 12th T and left costal fovea of the transverse process of the 12th T were severely deformed. On the other hand, the left transverse process of the first lumbar vertebra (L) was a typical rib-like transverse process and two times longer than the right transverse process of the 2nd L. The right transverse process of 4th L has an oval concave facet on the medial part of caudal border for articulation with the right transverse process of 5th L; the latter has a corresponding convex facet on the medial part of the cranial border in the right transverse process of the 5th L.
This paper presents the new design and validation process of the linear transverse flux machine of the stelzer machine for hybrid vehicle application. A linear transverse flux machine is a novel electric machine that has higher force density and power than conventional electric machine. The process concentrates on 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional analysis using equivalent magnetic circuit method considering leakage elements and it is verified by finite element analysis. Besides the force characteristics of all axis of each direction are analyzed. The study is considered by dividing the transverse flux electric excited type and the transverse flux permanent magnet excited type. Additionally three-dimensional analysis in this machine is accomplished due to asymmetric structure with another three axes. Finally, it suggests the new design and validation process of linear transverse flux machine for stelzer machine.
In the continuous casting process, the incidence of transverse surface cracks on the piece may occur by multiple and diverse variables. It is noted that mathematical models may predict only the occurance of the transverse surface cracks, but can require a lot of time (more than three days) to produce a result with this process. This study applied neural networks to predict whether the cracks on the piece surface occurs or does not occur. The computation time was shortened to three minutes, making it applicable to an on-line program, which predicts the non-cracks or cracks of the piece surface in the actual continuous casting process. In addition, the operating conditions to prevent the occurrence of the transverse surface cracks, using decision boundaries were also suggested.

Background: Stellate ganglion block is usually performed at the transverse process of C6, because the vertebral artery is located anterior to the transverse process of C7. The purpose of this study is to estimate the location of the transverse process of C6 using the cricoid cartilage in the performance of stellate ganglion block. Methods: We reviewed cervical lateral neutral-flexion-extension views of 48 patients who visited our pain clinic between January and June of 2010. We drew a horizontal line at the surface of the cricoid cartilage in the neutral and extension views of cervical lateral x-rays. We then measured the change in the shortest distance from this horizontal line to the lowest point of the transverse process of C6 between the neutral and extension views. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in the shortest distance from the horizontal line at the surface of the cricoid cartilage to the lowest point of transverse process of C6 between neutral position and neck extension position in both males and females, and between males and females in both neutral position and neck extension position. The cricoid cartilage level was 4.8 mm lower in males and 14.4 mm higher in females than the lowest point of transverse process of C6 in neck extension position. Conclusions: Practitioners should recognize that the cricoid cartilage has cephalad movement in neck extension. In this way, the cricoid cartilage can be still useful as a landmark for stellate ganglion block.
The transverse crack, a type of cold crack, occurs perpendicular to the axis of the weld interface, longitudinal residual stresses ($\sigma$k direction) are more important in transverse crack occurrence from my own experience. Specimens were fabricated and welded under actual construction conditions, and then residual stresses of longitudinal stresses were measured for different welding conditions with SAW and FCAW process. The residual stress values for the specimen welded Interpass temperature below 30$^{\circ}C$ was higher than the specimen welded interpass temperature of 100~120$^{\circ}C$. And also the residual stress values for a specimen measured at weld surface, as welded condition, was higher than that of longitudinal residual stresses that was measured from a small test piece, due to the residual stress was relieved in the process of the cutting and machining. Transverse weld cracks were detected in the area of the maximum residual stresses both SAW and FCAW process.
Osseous bridging between lumbar transverse processes is an uncommon condition that may cause low back pain. In most cases, its etiology is alleged to be trauma to the back and only rarely has a congenital origin been indicated. Furthermore, most reported cases involved adults, the majority of whom were middle-aged. Here, the authors describe the case of the youngest girl reported to date with congenital transverse process bridging. As far as the authors' knowledge, there has been no report of congenital bridging of transverse processes in children or adolescents in Korea.
Welding is a reliable process and is mainly adopted for fabricating heavy structures. Recently, transverse cracks in the weld metal is serious problem, and they affect cost, efficiency, safety and joint reliability for various welded structures. In this view of point, this study investigated the potential factors for weld metal transverse crack. The main results obtained are as follows; 1) The content of diffusible hydrogen in the commercial flux cored are welding wire was remarkable change by manufacturer. 2) The diffusible hydrogen content was thd main factor for weld metal transverse cracks. 3) Weld metal was immune to transverse cracking under the condition of low diffusible hydrogen content of high restraint condition. 4) The factors for weld metal transverse crack would be the content of diffusible hydrogen and restraint of weld joint.

Objectives : There are many theories about the anatomical relationships between the thoracic spinous and transverse processes. However, these studies were all conducted on cadavers. Thus, there might be differences when applied to living individuals. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine whether the theories were similar when measured in living individuals. Methods : We conducted studies with 10 individuals aged 20-30 using 3D-CT. Four different measurements were taken between the thoracic spinous and transverse processes. To facilitate the relationship analysis, the spinous process positioned between the traverse process of the segment and the lower segment was set to 0.5. The spinous process located at the height of the traverse process of the lower segment was set to 1. The spinous process located between the traverse process of the lower segment and the two segments below was set to 1.5. Results : Therefore, based on the aforementioned settings, T1-T4 were 1, T5-T7 were 1.5, T8-T10 were 1, and T11 and T12 were 0.5. This indicated that the spinous processes of T1-T4 and T8-T10 were equal in height to the transverse processes of the lower segment, and that T5-T7 were at the midpoint of the height of the transverse processes between the lower segment and two segments below, and T11, T12 corresponded to the midpoint between the traverse process of the segment and the lower segment. Conclusions : Neither 'Geelhoed's rule'nor 'the rule of three'was accurate when applied to living individuals. However, this study had some limitations, so further research is needed.
Welding is widely applicable and reliable process and is mainly adopted for fabricating heavy structures. Recently, weld metal transverse cracks in butt and fillet weld joint is a serious problem, and they must be eliminated for improving weld joint reliability. The weld metal transverse crack susceptibility of butt and fillet joint was carried out by cantilever type tensile crack testing jig and CTS test. In this view of point, this study investigated the potential factors for weld metal transverse crack. The main results obtained were as follows: 1. The content o fdiffusible hydrogen in weld metal played an important role for weld metal transverse cracks. 2. From cantilever type tensile crack tests, it was pointed out that the higher the diffusible hydrogen content and tensile restraint, the more susceptible to weld metal transverse craking. 3. The TSN(thermal severity number) and diffusible hydrogen were important factors for determining weld metal transverse cracks in fillet weld joints.
