  • The logistics industry is growing rapidly with China's economic development in recent years. Particularly, the intermodal freight system is becoming the main issue to reduce the logistic costs under the situation that the quantity of cargo transported between Korea and China is continuously increasing. Shift from road transportation to eco-friendly modes such as rail and coastwise shipping is also increasing. The present study suggests technical aspects related to the implementation of intermodal transport system centered on train ferries between two countries with already employed Chinese infrastructure into consideration. Technical assessment of intermodal train ferry system entails not only the vessels but supporting facilities and technologies as well. Port and rail facilities and operating skills for efficient modal shifting, and their standardization is indispensible to the realization of an intermodal train ferry system between the two countries.

  • Recently, IITS (intelligent integrated transportation system) has been important topic in Smart City related industry. As a main objective of IITS, prevention of traffic jam (due to car accidents) has been attempted with help of advanced sensor and communication technologies. Studies show that car accident has certain correlation with some factors including characteristics of location, weather, driver's behavior, and time of day. We concentrate our study on observing auto correlativity of car accidents in terms of time of day. In this paper, we performed the ARIMA tests including ADF (augmented Dickey-Fuller) to check the three factors determining auto-regressive, stationarity, and lag order. Summary on forecasting of hourly car crash counts is presented, we show that the traffic accident data obtained in Korea can be applied to ARIMA model and present a result that traffic accidents in Korea have property of being recurrent daily basis.

A convergence R&D workshop was performed by Fashion design majors and Engineering majors for the study. As a result, 5 functional smart fashion prototypes were developed and the outline of each prototype are as follows. The $1^{st}$ prototype, 'Hidden Camera Detecting Coat' focused on gender-related crimes. The coat uses infrared lighting and LED technologies to provide a function to detect hidden cameras in suspicious public spaces such as toilets. The $2^{nd}$ prototype, 'Heating-massage Suit' targeted patients with musculoskeletal system difficulties. The suit uses heating and vibration technologies to provide a heating massage treatment for patients with ongoing difficulties in their daily lives. The $3^{rd}$ prototype is an air-bag jacket to prevent sexual molestation on public transportation. The jacket extends its volume through pressure sensing, air compressing, motors and 3D-printing technology to secure the wearer's personal preventive space between the user's body and others. The $4^{th}$ prototype is a town wear for people suffering from synesthesia. People with synesthesia inadvertently see colors when exposed to certain sounds. This town wear uses sound sensing, air compressing, motors and 3D-printing technology to provide sound prevention and a comfortable sound playing function. • Since imposing Performance Requirements (PRs) on investors have been conducted as a means to protect a host state's domestic industry in the short run, with its effect on improving the international balance of payments, it has been implemented mostly in developing countries. From the viewpoint of investors, however, PRs hinder free competition and investment activities and have the effect of distorting international trade activities; therefore, they are expected to bring detrimental effects on the host state's economic development in the long run. PRs provided by International Investment Agreements (IIAs) and WTO-TRIMs, too, included many abstract regulations which are grounded on the host state's economic efficiency in the past; however, those PRs are gradually being more concretely specified, shifting to a form of prohibition with the goals of increasing the protection on investors and realizing investment liberalization. Accordingly, when Korea freshly concludes IIAs or revises them afterwards, one should focus more on following the points regarding PRs. First, to protect Korean companies' investment activities, it is advantageous to list the contents of prohibited PRs extensively and concretely and create a stipulation. Second, it is necessary to list the contents of the PRs prohibited and add the phrases for prohibiting "any other similar requirements" explicitly, as well so as to cover the PRs that can appear newly. Third, as in the cases associated with PRs, issuable matters are mostly either the range of applying PRs or the conditions of applying them (relevance or detrimental effects); therefore, it is necessary to classify the cases accumulated by issues and analyze them thoroughly. In conclusion, as this study has analyzed the theoretical characteristics of PRs provided in IIAs and related cases and suggests exquisite theory regarding PRs, it not only lays fundamental grounds for follow-up research but also gives useful and practical guidelines for the parties concerned and the arbitrators according to the ISDS procedure.

  • The cultivation area for domestic cabbage increased by 26.3% from 10,968 ha in 2019 to 13,854 ha in 2020, and among leafy vegetables, the cabbage cultivation area was 62%, and production was 78.9%. Demand for field crop production of cabbage, which has a relatively high-income level compared to rice farming, is increasing, and mechanization of the field operation is urgently needed due to the insufficient development of related farming machinery. In this study, a prototype fabrication and performance test of a tractor-attached cabbage collector was carried out. The transport section was divided into two parts, one for the feeding and transportation and the other for the screening and packaging to selectively collect cabbages in bulk bags or boxes. The length of the primary collecting conveyor was designed to meet the field conditions of the Korean cabbage cultivation standards so that six cultivation rows could be worked simultaneously. Power was controlled by a hydraulic transmission line of the tractor and was easily mounted onto the 3-point hitch links behind the tractor. When the performance was evaluated, the transfer rate, loss rate, damage rate, and work performance were 100, 0, 1.2%, and 1.9 h·10 a-1. Final improvement and commercialization of the prototype would considerably contribute to the mechanization of harvesting cabbage, the main ingredient of Kimchi.

  • With the development of transportation and mobiles demand for tourism travel is increasing and related industries are also developing significantly. The combination of augmented reality and tourism contents one of the areas of digital media technology, is also actively being studied, and artificial intelligence is already combined with the tourism industry in various directions, enriching tourists' travel experiences. In this paper, we propose a system that scans miniature models produced by reducing tourist areas, finds the relevant tourist sites based on models learned using deep learning in advance, and provides relevant information and 3D models as AR services. Because model learning and object detection are carried out using YOLOv3 neural networks, one of various deep learning neural networks, object detection can be performed at a fast rate to provide real-time service.

  • The importance of maintenance is leading the application of the maintenance strategy in various industries. The maritime industry is also a part of them, with changes in selecting and applying the maintenance strategy, but rather slowly, by retaining the old strategy. In particular, the ship is maintaining a previously used strategy. In the circumstance of the sea, ship requires a new suggestion for maintenance strategy. A ship predictive maintenance model predicts the breakdown or malfunction of machineries to secure maintenance time with preventive actions and treatments, thereby avoiding maintenance-related dangerous factors. This study focused on applying text analysis to an Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers dock indent document, and the analysis results were interpreted from the original document. The inter-relational patterns observed from the frequency of common maintenance combinations among different parts and equipment in ships will be applied to the development of ship predictive maintenance.

  • Currently, the government's announcement of the Korean version of the New Deal Comprehensive Plan ('20.7.14), expanding the supply of hydrogen production and charging facilities, and major companies are rapidly building related facilities such as liquefied hydrogen plants and charging stations. However, safety standards for production, storage facilities, transportation, and utilization of liquefied hydrogen value chains in Korea are insufficient, and safety technologies and safety standards over the entire period of liquefied hydrogen are urgently needed. Accordingly, the Korea Gas Safety Corporation is trying to realize a safe hydrogen economy in Korea by enacting safety standards over the entire period, including liquefied hydrogen plants
