인천국제공항의 21세기 동북아 중추공항으로서의 역할 (Inchon International Airport's Role in the 21st Century as Northeast Asia's Hub Airport)

  • Kimpo International Airport, located within the Seoul metropolitan district, experienced a sudden surge of passengers and cargo in recent years. In 1990, MOCT sponsored feasibility studios and Youngjong Island location was selected as the most suitable choice among four proposed sites to build a new airport. The construction work was then commenced in November 1992. Phase I project facilities are scheduled to start its operation in March 2001 with an annual capacity of 27 million passengers and 1.7 million tons of cargo for both enplaning and deplaning from International liners. Kimpo International Airport will remain in operation primarily for domestic passengers and cargo only. Phase II project construction work will add two more runways with its related facilities by 2005. Inchon International Airport will then conveniently serve 100 million passengers for enplaning and deplaning, and 7 million tons of inbound and outbound cargo annually in its full capacity. All the airport facilities In phase I and phase II periods are constructed to meet international standards. A fully integrated transportation network and logistics function systems should be accomplished prior to the full operation of the airport. With these sccomplishments, the state-of-the-art airport is poised to meet the needs of a rapidly growing worldwide air transport industry, and will more than adequately fulfill its role as a hub airport for the Northeast Asia region.

마이크로서페이싱의 성공과 실패 사례 (Microsurfacing Successes and Failures)

  • PURPOSES: This study set out to investigate the current state of microsurfacing in Texas and compared the results with the current state of the practice nationwide. METHODS: For this study, case studies were extracted from the existing literature and compared with the data obtained both from site visits by the research team and data obtained from a survey by Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) personnel. The successes and failures of microsurfacing are detailed and explanations of different issues are outlined. Forensic studies from Texas are included in the descriptions of those microsurfacings that failed when configured as part of the cape seals. RESULTS : Microsurfacing has been shown to be an effective pavement preservation technique when applied to an appropriate road, at an appropriate timing, and as a remedy for certain issues. The failures experienced in Texas can mostly be attributed to cape seals and an inability to recognize structurally faulty pavement. CONCLUSIONS : When applied to an appropriate road, at an appropriate timing, and as a remedy for certain issues, microsurfacing has been shown to perform well in numerous case studies. The majority of microsurfacing failures are the result of poor project selection, usually involving the treatment being applied to structurally unsound pavement.

  • In this study, Microstructure and hardness of 1st layer with crystallographic orientation were investigated about solidification structure in multipass weld using high Mn-Ni flux cored wire. Microstructure of solidification consisted of austenite matrix and a little ${\varepsilon}-phase$ in grain boundaries. Orientation of grains was usually (001), (101), (111). According to crystallographic orientation, morphology of primary dendrite was different. The depletion of Fe and the segregation of Mn, C, Ni, Si, Cu, Cr, O were found along the grain boundaries. The area of segregation was wide with an order of (001), (101), (111) grains. And hardness of grains with crystallographic orientation increased with an order of (001), (101), (111) grains because of the segregation along dendrite boundary.

  • 본 연구는 교통시설사업의 기본계획에 지리정보시스템(GIS)을 활용한 공간분석(spatial analysis)을 이용하여 교통효율성과 환경영향, 장래 국토계획의 목표, 도시영향 그리고 건설가능성 및 경제성을 통합하여 고려할 수 있는 노선선정의 방법론을 개발하기위하여 시도되었다. 본 논문은 총 4장으로 구성되어 있으며 1 장 서론에서는 연구의 배경, 목적 그리고 연구범위와 방법을 정립하였으며, 2장에서는 교통시설사업의 노선선정 방법론의 개발을 위한 목표설정과 방법론의 수행과정을 설명하였다. 3장에서는 개발된 방법론을 독일의노이스(Neuss)와 그로벤브로히(Grenvenbroich)간의 도로건성을 위한 노선선정 프로젝트에 적용하였으며 본 방법론의 평가와 이용가능성을 결론으로 제시하였다.

  • Improvement projects has been progressed for railway electrification and double track line in the conventional line as well as high speed line for the high speed and large transportation capability of railway. Especially, many variable operation plans are possible such as interaction between high speed line and conventional line and operation of tilting train due to the electrification of the conventional line. Railway electrification is more energy efficient and environmentally-friendly, but it has some problems such as an enormous initial construction and maintenance costs and electrical accidents. Therefore, the more intensive research will be progressed about railway electrification effectiveness for the continuous electrification project. So, we analyzed railway electrification effectiveness about the energy side using annual operation data of electric car and diesel car. The energy side was divided into energy costs and national energy consumption for analyzing electrification effectiveness about entire line and specific line. We verified advantage of energy costs and national energy consumption in this paper and this result will contribute to the progress of the continuous electrification project and the more efficient operation ways in electrification line

  • The Ministry of Construction-Transportation released a plan about EVMS in 1993 in order to prepare measures for an efficient public construction project, and prepared an enforcement proposal concretely in June for 2000 years, and have enforce a public project by an example with a target. Therefore, accurate analysis and evaluation about field progress are required for efficient management of a building construction, and must be established building construction management system for fast action about a problem However, unified management cannot be consisting because a work progress system is different from details estimate system within a country. and There is not still a definite standard in progress measurement for an application of EVMS. A purpose of this study is to present an improvement about a problem of progress measurement for an application of EVMS. The contents of a study, inquired into a progress measurement method and a standard to use in the field of a public construction and private construction and Checks a problem and presented an improvement item necessary for and is as follows. $\circled1$ must establishes a control account and progress measurement standard. $\circled2$ must manage progress in a activity viewpoint. $\circled3$ must use an accurate CPM process management technique.

건설CALS의 정보화수준 조사 분석 (Analysis of Informatization Level for Construction CALS)

  • 국토해양부에서는 건설산업의 정보화 수준을 향상시키고 건설 생산체계를 효율화시키기 위해서 건설 CALS(Continuous Acquisition & Life-cycle Support)사업을 추진하고 있다. 건설CALS사업은 1998년부터 시작되었지만 건설CALS의 정보화수준은 어느 정도인지에 대한 측정이 없었다. 본 연구에서는 선행연구에서 도출된 평가지표를 사용하여 건설CALS의 정보화수준을 측정하였다. 연구는 설문항 및 표본 구성, 설문조사, 설문조사 결과 분석의 절차로 진행하였다. 설문조사 결과, 빠른 시스템 장애복구, 시스템의 웹환경 구축, 높은 표준분류체계 활용, 체계적인 정보전략 계획 수립 측면에서 우수한 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 결과는 건설CALS의 정보화수준을 정확히 파악하는데 기여할 것이라 생각된다.

상류곡관에 의한 볼밸브 내부유동 영향성 연구 (A Study on Influence of Ball Valve and Upstream Curved Pipe on Internal Flow of Pipeline)

  • This study describes the effect of upstream curved pipe on internal flow characteristics ball valve. Continuity and three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equation have been used as governing equations for the numerical analysis. The upstream curved pipe - ball valve model was assumed that it is used for Alaska pipeline project which was planned to provide reliable transportation of natural gas from ANS to Alaska-Yukon border. Therefore the characteristics of pipe and operating condition of pipeline were from report of Alaska pipeline project. The three curvature and three location of upstream curved pipe were analyzed. The results shows that there are typical flow patterns at ball valve and the upstream curved pipe makes some differences to the internal flow of ball valve.

대구경 고압 T형 분기관의 지관 형상에 따른 내부 유동 영향성 해석 (A Study on Internal Flow Characteristics of T Branch using CFD Analysis)

  • This study describes the effect of T branch shape on internal flow characteristics inside itself. Continuity and three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equation have been used as governing equations for the numerical analysis. The T branch was modeled assuming that it is used for Alaska pipeline project which was planned to provide reliable transportation of natural gas from ANS to Alaska-Yukon border. Therefore the characteristics of T branch and operating condition of pipeline were from report of Alaska pipeline project. The nine T branch shapes were analyzed and the mass flow rate ratio between mainline and branch was assumed to be 0.95 : 0.05, 0.9 : 0.1, 0.85 : 0.15. The results shows that there are typical flow patterns in T branch and the shape of T branch makes some differences to the internal flow of branch rather than mainline.

Sources of Cost Saving Opportunities in Highway Construction Quality Assurance Practices

  • US transportation agencies are dealing with shrinking budgets, limited work forces, and deteriorating infrastructure. In order to cope with funding uncertainty, state highway agencies are now looking into their own organizations and identifying programs, practices, and processes that have potential for cost saving. A quality assurance (QA) program is an integral part of highway construction and ensures a project's contracted level of quality. The cost of quality (conforming and nonconforming) can constitute a sizable part of total construction cost. As the quality assurance programs evolved, various practices and processes were developed over time and later adopted by state highway agencies. These practices and processes include different QA standards and specifications, varying testing methods, central testing lab vs. on site testing, performance based vs. prescribed quality assurance practices, implementation of innovative quality assurance practices, etc. Therefore, there is an opportunity to assess different QA strategies and recommend those practices that are effective and cost efficient. A national survey was conducted by the authors, which provided a detailed mapping of various QA practices and processes used as part of QA programs and identified areas where agencies can focus on for cost savings. The survey found that QA sampling and testing plans, optimization of sampling plans, optimization of QA standards and specifications, and implementation of innovative test methods and processes are the main areas the agencies should focus to lean the current QA programs.
