  • The transport a administration in Korea is meeting demands of developing international multimodal transport system. In the past, as Korea transport policy has been emphasizing on the passenger traffic, the physical distribution sector is far behind international trend. Regarding the urging necessities of reducting costs in transport in order to upgrade the competitive edge of industries, Korea has to develop the most efficient transport system so called international multimodal transport system. The existing transport system is inefficient because each transport mode is separate, so this system is aiming at reducing cost and time and developing freight transport. The scope and scheme of this thesis should be as following. Chapter 2. Systems Approach of International multimodal transport 1. general systems theory 2. definition of International multimodal transport system 3. MTO (multimodal transport operator) Chapter 3. Current Situation and Problems of this System. 1. international law and practice 2.current situation A. Europe B. U.S. C. Japan D. Korea Chapter 4. • Green gas emissions Trading System(ETS) came into effect in the Europe last year 2005. All transport modes have tried to reduce green gas emission and EU member countries are promoting the use of environmental friendly transport mode to avoid economic loss due to green gas emission. Besides ETS, rapidly rising of oil price and peak oil urge to invest more in the environmental friendly public transport mode and to discourage the use of private cars. The operation of KTX is estimated to bring external cost reduction up to 570 bil. won in 2004 based on European external unit costs of transport modes. This result implies that the expansion of high speed rail network and reconsideration of East-West high speed rail network which is not considered because of weak economic validity is required.

  • The world air transport industry has grown steadily with quantitative expansion. The volume of air transport in the world is skyrocketing with the open-sky trend. Air passengers from or to South Korea has shown 5% of annual growth for the last couple of decades which caused South Korea now ranking in 18th in the World for air transport market size. Quantitative expansion of Air transport affects in policy making of air transport operators, such as airports, airlines or authorities, directly and indirectly. Especially, Aviation Safety field should be supported by policy regime with the growth of air transport volume, assured resources for continuous monitoring is standing out as a vital factor. This study is to estimate social costs caused by aviation accidents and investment costs for aviation safety by airports, airlines and authorities as operators. Estimated investment costs for aviation safety verified by comparing and analysing them. Precedent studies were reviewed to refer research methodology to calculate aviation accident costs and safety costs of operators. • This study aimed to identify new routes for transporting automobiles from Korea to Mongolia by comparing them with the existing route. At present, a route from the Incheon Port through the Tianjin Port to Zamiin-Uud is commonly used to transport containerized cargo from Korea to Mongolia. This study examined five possible logistics routes from Korea to Mongolia using a time/cost-distance methodology based on real data. Through consecutive discussions with importers and freight forwarders in Mongolia, the potential routes were selected and costs, distance, and lead time were evaluated to provide additional route options for automobile logistics from Korea to Mongolia. The results indicated that each route could be ranked in terms of the total cost while the lead time for all options in the present COVID-19 period is 2 - 4 months, with no difference among the routes. In addition, although the confidence index of all routes was not impressive, route 3 was the most preferred option, followed by route 1. However, the study results cannot provide the answer to the question of "which route is more attractive for transporting automobiles from Korea to Mongolia." This limitation notwithstanding, this study provides real information on the critical factors of distance, cost, and lead time in terms of the selected transportation routes so that importers and exporters can compare the routes in terms of the priority of each factor in uncertain logistics environment.

  • Sea transport industry is service industry and basic industry that permit efficient division of the human and material resources of industry. Also, owing to geographical situation which korea is having, utilization ratio of sea logistics industry is high than other transport ways. Sea transport industry chieves role that promote economy activity of other industry field as well as offer of transport way. Specially, because unit anger of freight by container is introduced, it was achived reduction of transport unit cost and mechanization of loading and unloading by this result. For efficeint connection of each other transport, contianer had offerd to large ship. Quality of service has much dimensions, and is considered while it is important that understand quality of service of sea transport industry through marketing and research of customer connection field because perceive of quality of serviceis different in shipowner/service viscount or shipper/freight owner. This research presented decision factors of sea transport quality of service which shipper and transport agent recognize under these background.

  • Transportation cost takes a major portion on logistics cost. The reduction of transportation cost is a key issue to achieve national competitiveness and logistics cost reduction. And railway must play a important role to shift from road freight transport to environment-friendly transport. There are many idle freight cars in railway freight transportation and they give rise to inefficient operation of freight car. It is well known that the main reason of idle freight cars is unbalanced demand according to direction. In this study, we analysed the current status on idle freight cars in railway at the level of daily data. This results help follow-up research to cut down idle freight cars in railway.

  • According to the globalization of world economy on distribution and sales, logistics and transportation parts are playing an important role. Especially, they have to decide what is the key factor of route choice model and how to choose the right transport route in multimodal transport system. By considering the key factors in rote choice model for freight forwarders between Mongolia and Korea, this paper propose 4 main factors: Cost, Delivery time, Freight and Logistics service with 13 sub factors. The importance of factors is surveyed base on AHP through interview with freight forwarders. In results, the empirical insights about current status of Mongolian forwarders are provided with different factors between transportation modes. Expecially, the Time factor is a role factor to choose transport route for air transportation forwarders.

  • A construction project is a designed product made up of labors, materials, and installations in the project positioned on the ground and may include the underground and ground section, and the section in water or on the water surface. It is a civil, industrial, transport, agricultural and rural development, infrastructure, or some other. A key phase in the life cycle of these construction projects is the implementation when building products are made directly with workers, equipment, materials, and managers. If there is a lack of management experience, information, and problem-solving solutions to tackle the risks faced by contractors, especially foreign ones, will fail in controlling the project's cost. This study was conducted with investigations, discussions, and evaluation of the factors that lead to cost overruns in the construction projects of international contractors in Vietnam. The principal component analysis (PCA) showed that those factors that influence cost overruns these construction projects fall into five general groups, including factors related to (i) the owners, (ii) the foreign contractors, (iii) the subcontractors and suppliers, (iv) state management, and (v) the project itself. Besides, the study proposes solutions to limit cost overruns in construction projects and improve the profitability of international contractors in Vietnam.
