  • The system is designed for the production and processing of feed, fertilizer, sugar , and grain. It can be used to weigh and transport automatically their pellet, power or nonstickness materials. In this system, we use discontinuous totalising automatic weighing instruments to weigh materials. It is a closed-cycle control system controlled by industrial controlling computer STD bus. The system used for processing grain and feed can improve the quality of products , carry out scientific management, increase productivity and decrease the intensity of labour

  • The existing construction industry is classified into industries with low productivity compared to other industries. In order to solve the decline in productivity in the construction industry, the world is focusing on off-site construction (OSC), which is about 40% more productive than existing construction methods. This high productivity is possible because the three stages of production, transport to the site, and site assembly are consistently maintained in a continuous flow. This study conducted a functional survey through literature review, preliminary field survey, questionnaire, and expert interview. The surveyed function were classified into five categories: convenience, flexibility, manageability, communication, and safety, and the functional characteristics of flexibility, manageability, and communication were high. Because of the change according to the construction progress, the production schedule of the factory, and the variety of transportation time required. Finally, A functional block diagram was developed based on the 15 functions corresponding with an average score of 4 or more in the surveyed function score result. If the OSC transport system is established through this study, It can contribute to a successful construction OSC project and increase productivity.

  • Transport Social Overhead Capital refers to public utilities necessary for a nation's basic economic activities, and is divided into roads, railway, subway, ports and so on. It is important to be able to provide these SOC in the right place at the right time to enhance productivity and competitiveness of a nation. In this study, correlation and factor analysis on countries' socioeconomic and transport indicators were performed in order to understand the need for expansion of SOCs including railway, and to identify the impact they have on national competitiveness(productivity). As a result, GDP showed high correlativity(0.59~0.99) with factors such as population, land area, extension of available railroad, and road extension. Specifically, through the analysis of Russia's urban transport system and comparison between socioeconomic indices and SOCs of OECD countries, it was examined that how increasing transport infrastructure investments could enhance national competitiveness. In conclusion, opening new Light Rail greatly affects the growth of GDP followed by the increasing extension of available railroad. Furthermore, if available railroad extension is increased by 10 % from 2014, assuming high speed tram is opened, GDP will likely increase by 21.6%.

Effect of Electron Acceptor, Electron Transport Inhibitors and Antioxidants on Growth and Ginsenosides Production in Hairy Root Cultures of Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer (인삼모상근의 생장과 Ginsenosides 생성에 미치는 Electron Acceptor, Electron Transport Inhibitors 및 Antioxidants의 효과)

  • The growth of hairy roots were increased $69\%$ by 0.1 mM DCPIP under light conditions. In these conditions, the contents of seven ginsenosides were none significant variation. The influence of electron inhibitors on growth and ginsenoside contents in ginseng hairy roots was tested. The growth was inhibited $71\%\;and\;22\%$ respectively by CCCP and methylamine. The ginsenoside contents were as decreased above $45\%$ in all treatment tested except triazine treatment. In antioxidants treatment, the growth of hairy roots was increased about $68\%$ by propylgallic acid, about $23\~25\%$ by ascorbic acid or 2,5-dimethylfuran, while the contents of seven ginsenosides were none significant variation. The ginsenoside productivity was high when hairy roots were cultured in $\circledR^{\wedge}MS$ medium for 4 weeks and then transferred to 1/2MS medium with ascorbic acid or 2,5-dimethylfuran for 1 weeks in light conditions. It is suggested that ginsenoside productivity could be accelerated by some antioxidants in hairy root cultures of ginseng.

  • Existing research about automated wafer transport management strategy for semiconductor manufacturing equipment was mainly focused on dispatching rules which is optimized to specific system layout, process environment or transfer patterns. But these methods can cause problem as like requiring additional rules or changing whole transport management strategy when applied to new type of process or system. In addition, a lack of consideration for interconnectedness of the added rules can cause unexpected deadlock. In this study, in order to improve these problems, propose dynamic priority based transfer job decision making algorithm which is applicable with regardless of system lay out and transfer patterns. Also, extra rule handling part proposed to support special transfer requirement which is available without damage to generality for maintaining a consistent scheduling policies and minimize loss of stability due to expansion and lead to improve productivity at the same time. Simulation environment of Twin-slot type semiconductor equipment was built In order to measure performance and examine validity about proposed wafer scheduling algorithm.

On the Effect of Sea Borne Cargo Movement to Urban Transportation in the Pusan Port -Container Transport Oriented- (부산 항만물동량이 도시교통에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 컨테이너 화물 운송을 중심으로 -)

  • The Port of Pusan, the largest port in Korea, handled 23% of total sea borne cargo movement, 14% of imported cargo, 58% of exported cargo and 95% of container cargo in 1989. Also the port of Pusan has been played a key role in handing container cargo throughout the last 10 years. The paper is aimed to survey the effect of sea borne cargo movement to urban transportation, that is, to find traffic volume arising by general/bulk cargoes through the port and to estimate vehicle rated of container tractor tailer on the roads between terminal including conventional piers and ODCY, and finally the following results are obtained. (1) AADV of truck to transport general/bulk cargoes are 6,322 units in 1989,and routes penetrate into the center of city and pass through the most of urban arterials. (2) In the container transport, if HVEF is adopted to 3 of tractor trailer, AVR in each transport freeway 13.7%. (3) IF HVEF is adopted to 6 of tractor trailer. AVR are as follows: BooDoo-Ro 44.1%, WooAm-Ro 39.3%, SooYoung-Ro 17.8%, Urban freeway 20.3%. Based upon these results, the following suggestions were drawn : o ODCY scattered around the city should be unified in a few groups to raise port productivity. o Rail service for inland container transportation should be escalated to relieve urban traffic congestion. o Coastal feeder service between terminal and hinterland should be studied to restrict the penetration of container tractor trailer into the central parts in the urban areas. o Exclusive freeway system for effective container transportation should be implemented to reduce urban traffic delay.

The Honam Region제s Evolutions in the 1990s: Convergence or Divergence\ulcorner (1990년대 호남지역경제의 전개과정: 지역경제의 수렴 또는 확산\ulcorner)

  • The Honam region has been recognized as one of the most lagging regions in Korea. Drawing upon some decompositions oi Gross Regional Domestic Product(GRDP) per head and labor productivity, the overall trend of inequalities in Korea has been revealed and the trajectory of the Honam region's economic change has been identified by examining how the region's economic performance changed relative to that of Korea in the 1990s. There are some findings. First of all, Korea is characterized by strong divergence in the development of its region economies, in terms o\ulcorner per capita GRDP, which relies upon productivity differentials rather than differences in employment rates. Second, the Honam region has displayed poor economic performances in terms of GRDP per head except for Jeonnam. Third, the dramatic fall in cumulative population growth relative to the national average has been an important factor in the Jeonnam's overwhelming economic performance measured by per capita GRDP. Fourth, the decline in the relative productivity of the Honam region is mostly explained by falling relative regional productivity growth in construction, transport and manufacturing, although it should be noted that the latter sector has made positive contribution to raising relative regional productivity of Jeonnam. Fifth, overall the shift in employment to service sector, especially to social, personal, public, health, education, other services other than distribution, hotels, catering has tended to support relative regional productivities, along with the positive contribution being made oi agriculture, forestry and fishing to relative regional productivity growth in the Honam region.

Cloning and Expression of Kluyveromyces fragilis $\beta$-Galactosidase Gene in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

  • A gene coding for the $\beta$-galactosidase (lactase) of Kluyveromyces tragilis UCD 55-55 was isolated by complementation in Escherichia coli YMC9. From the plasmid library made from Sau3A-digested chromosomal DNA, one positive clone was selected. The cloned gene for $\beta$-galactosidase was on 7.3 kilobase pair DNA fragment, and a slightly low level of $\beta$-galactosidase enzyme activity was detecied in E. coli. It was also confirmed that the cloned gene comes from K. tragilis by DNA-DNA hybridization and immunochemical blotting experiments. In order to construct a new yeast strain having the metabolic ability for lactose, the cloned gene for K. tragilis $\beta$-galactosidase was inserted in yeast vector YEp24 and YRp17, and transformed into Saccharomyces cerevisiae YNN27 and Ml-2B. The yeast transformants showed the nearly the same $\beta$-galactosidase productivity as level of K. tragilis when uninduced, but these could not utilize lactose as a sole carbon source, presumably due to the lack of lactose transport system. Nevertheless, a slightly higher ethanol productivity was achieved by these transformants than S. cerevisiae or K. tragilis, in the medium containing glucose and lactose.

  • The objective of this study is to test and modify the gantry travel mechanism of an ALV(automated lifting vehicle) as a main technology of development of ALV. For the purpose of the improvement of container terminal productivity, this study performed to develop the ALV as a part of R&D. In order to verify the design data and detect the errors of detailed drawings, we performed the various limited weight test under load and unload conditions. Through the reflect of final drawing based on the this test, we could use to produce the more complete vehicle.

  • Recently, construction companies have had difficulty in managing their business due to economic hardship domestically and abroad, decreased orders, and low profitability due to intensified competition. To address these issues, construction companies need to develop or introduce construction methods that improve productivity. The purpose of this study is to investigate a re-bar construction method that reduces the high expenses of transport by folding a pre-fabricated re-bar cage. It was concluded that the application of rebar pre-fabrication would be activated and the productivity of construction sites improved by adopting the folding rebar pre-fabrication method.
