Pullorum disease due to Salmonella enterica subspecies enterica bioserovar Pullorum (S. pullorum) is reported to be an endemic disease in domestic poultry flocks. The pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) subtyping method was used to assess the extent of genetic diversity and clonality of most of salmonella serotypes and other diverse bacterial species from animals and environmental samples in worldwide. Nowadays, PFGE has already been evaluated as a gold standards for molecular subtyping of salmonella serotypes compared with other molecular analysis methods. PFGE of XbaI digested chromosomal DNA from 23 strains of S. pullorum gave 5 distinctive pulsotypes (from SXPI to SXPV) with 5% confidence range of Dice coefficients, indicating that PFGE is very discriminative and that multiple clones of S. pullorum have been existed and diffused all of domestic poultry flocks industries since 1995. Two dominant pulsogroups (SXA & SXB) appeared as a major clones in this country, because they had consistently been recovered from diverse sources including both chicken organs and raw feed materials between 1995 and 1998. In addition, the matching percentage of PFGE profiles (PFP) among strains from both chickens and feed ingredients provides indirect evidence of the possible transmission of pullorum disease from contaminated raw feed ingredients for chicken production. In calculating of discrimination index (DI) for PFGE method by Simpson's index, DI was appeared as 0.917. Therefore, this index suggested that the present PFGE would seem to be a desirable and confident molecular typing method for S. pullorum strains. To our knowledge for pullorum disease, this is the first study to compare S. pullorum strains from chicken organs and feed samples using the PFGE.
The degradation of image quality by block loss is more serious in fractal coded images with the error propagation due to mapping from the lost blocks than in DCT coded images. Therefore. a new algorithm is presented for recovering the blocks lost in the transmission through the lossy network as A TM network of the images coded by Jacquins fractal coding. Jacquins fractal code is divided into two layers of header code and main code according to its importance. The key technique of the proposed BLRA (block loss recovery algorithm) is a fractal extrapolation that estimates the lost pixels by using the contractive mapping parameters of the neighboring range blocks whose characteristics are similar to a lost block. The proposed BLRA is applied to the lost blocks in the iteration of decoding. Some experimental results show the proposed BLRA yields excellent performance in PSNR as well as subjective quality.

Background: It is known that blood group antigens are related to the development of peptic ulcer and gastric carcinoma. Infections due to H. pylori are most widespread among the developing regions due to poor standard of public health. This study sought to determine the association of H. pylori with ABO blood groups, age, gender, and smoking status among inpatients at a public sector hospital in Karachi. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at endoscopy suite at a public sector hospital in Karachi in the year 2011. All the symptomatic patients coming for upper GIT endoscopy were included in this study. Results: Biopsy for histopathology was taken from 93 patients, with an age range from 15-65 years. Age group of 15 to 20 years was found to be associated with H. pylori infection but without significance (p-value 0.83). In all, 36 (38.7%) turned out to be H. pylori positive with a significant male preponderance (p=0.04). Distribution of ABO blood groups in H. pylori positive group were A=31.4%, B=15.4%, AB=25.0% and O=53.7%, with a statistically significant link for blood group O (p=0.05). Rhesus factor was also compared but significant relationship was evident (p-value 0.73). Conclusions: This study demonstrated that H. pylori infection can be related to ABO blood group, middle age persons and male gender. People of blood group O are more prone to develop infection related gastritis, ulcers, and even perforations, so they should be more cautious against transmission of the bacterium.
A heuristic method treating a layered ocean bottom in a ray modeling is to use the plane wave reflection coefficient for multiple-layered structure, named an one-layer assumption in this paper. We examine the validity of one-layer assumption in the case of two-layered ocean bottom, and obtain a simple inequality condition depending on the sound speed ratio, the ratio of layer thickness to source-receiver range, and the grazing angle of first reflected ray. From this inequality condition, it is shown that an one-layer assumption can be applicable to ray propagation problems at mid frequencies. Finally, numerical experiments are performed in the ocean environment similar to the East Sea in Korea. Incoherent transmission loss is calculated by the geometrical beam model with the plane wave reflection coefficient for multiple-layered ocean bottom and compared with the result of SNUPE 2.0, which is a parabolic equation package developed in Seoul National University.

Vertically well-aligned ZnO nanowire (NW) arrays were synthesized directly on GaN/sapphire and Si substrate from Zn vapor deposition without catalysts. Experimental results showed that the number density, diameter, crystallinity and degree of the alignment of ZnO NWs depended strongly on both the substrate position and kind of the substrates used for the growth. The photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of the grown ZnO NW arrays exhibit a strong and sharp ultraviolet (UV) emission at 379 nm and a broad weak emission in the visible range, indicating that the obtained ZnO NWs have a high crystal quality with excellent optical properties. The as-grown ZnO NWs were characterized by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high resolution transmission electronic microscopy (HR-TEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

We have investigated a surfactant-assisted sonochemical approach to produce monodisperse $Fe_3O_4$ nanoparticles (NPs). The non-ionic surfactant Igepal CO-520 (Poly(oxyethylene)(5) nonylphenyl ether) has been used for the preparation of NPs and the effects on the NP size, size distribution, and magnetic properties have been studied. The $Fe_3O_4$ NPs were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM). The results reveal that the NPs prepared by a Igepal CO-520-assisted sonochemical method exhibit a narrow range of size distributions and a high monodispersity compared to the NPs from the conventional sonochemical method. The analysis of NPs prepared in the presence of the surfactant suggested that it could be used not only as a protector to prevent the oxidation of Fe (II), but also as a controller to vary the size of the NPs.
Co-based amorphous magnetic wire with a diameter of $125{\mu}m$ and a length of 40 mm was used as an inner conductor of a coaxial cable to construct a magnetic sensor. Sensor characteristics was measured up to 3 GHz with applied up to 60 Oe by using network analyzer. Frequency dependence of impedance for this sensor was very close to the impedance resonant pattern of transmission line and 250 MHz was obtained as a 1/4 wavelength without external magnetic field. Large impedance change was measured in the magnetic field range between 0 Oe and 1 Oe, which was influenced by permeability change of magnetic amorphous wire. Because ${\Delta}Z/{\Delta}H$ value of $300{\Omega}/Oe$ was obtained at 0.1 Oe, this coaxial cable with amorphous wire can be useful as a magnetic sensor.

PicoCast is a recently proposed short-range wireless communications technology that supports both low rate sensor/control data and high speed data such as voice and video traffic in the personal space, defined by the user-centric space of radius tens of meters, with one unified protocol. When the users are in the same area, personal spaces defined by each user may overlap. Since these PicoCast piconets may simultaneously operate, mutual interference is unavoidable. It is necessary to investigate the effect of mutual interference on data transmission and to conduct research on minimizing the interference among PicoCast devices. In this paper we analyze the effect of mutual interference between PicoCast piconets based on data throughput using OPNET network simulator. We have implemented the PicoCast protocol and measured the average throughput and packet loss rate.

In this paper, the optimum placement of airborne line-of-sight (LOS) datalink directional antenna to minimize the datalink loss within the operation range of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is analyzed by using the electromagnetic (EM) simulation. In quick banking of UAV, the datalink loss is occurred due to the electromagnetic distortion and transmission loss by the fuselage blockage. In general, the banking angle of UAV is limited to prevent the datalink loss. However, in this case, there is the problem that the mission performance ability is largely limited by the banking radius increase. To solve this problem, the optimum placement to mount the airborne LOS datalink 1-axis directional antenna on both the top and bottom surfaces of fuselage is analyzed by using EM simulation. The 1-axis antenna with large vertical beamwidth is used because the banking angle of UAV is dependent on the vertical beamwidth of antenna. Also, there is the benefit to reduce largely the weight because the 1-axis antenna can be mounted instead of the 2-axis one.
Lately development of network around Internet expands range of data traffic to multimedia information, and so for the guarantee of multimedia services end-to-end QoS(Quality of Service) must service because comparing with existing Internet service can not support For satisfying those QoS requirements, network have to guarantee not only network on parameter, such as delay, jitter, throughput but also system resources like CPU utilization, memory usage. Therefore it is urgent to develop QoS based middleware to distribute multimedia data and maximize network utilization in the limited resource environment. And it must be necessary of network to provide end-to-end QoS(Quality of Service) for multimedia applications. Multimedia applications want that QoS which satisfy their own service properties be guaranteed Then, We must analyze those necessary QoS requirements md define QoS parameter which specify as two viewpoint, user's and network's perspective. Therefore network provider supplying network for usual user and university, enterprise must want to find about their own network performance and problem. It is essential for network manager to want to use a tool like this. On the basis of technique about QoS test-bed in the AIM network, We studied on the method of QoS measurement and management about end-to-end connection in the Internet. We measured network status about end-to-end connection and analyze the result of performance.
