송전계통의 인버터식 직.병렬 보상기에 관한 기초연구 (Fundamental study on Inverter-type Series and Shunt Compensator for Transmission System)

  • This paper describes a simulation model and a scaled hardware model to analyze the dynamic performance of Unified Power Flow Controller, which can flexibly adjust the active and reactive power flow through the ac transmission line. The design of control system was developed using vector control method. The results of simulation and scaled hardware test show that the developed control system works accurately. And both models are very effective to analyze the dynamic performance of the Unified Power Flow Controller.

D2D Power Control in the Cellular System: Iterative Algorithm and Convergence

  • In this paper, we consider the case where D2D users and the cellular user share the uplink of the cellular system. We propose an iterative power control algorithm that converges to the optimum power value. Each user iteratively updates its transmit power level according to the interference function. Finally, all D2D users and cellular user that participate in the transmission get the optimum transmit power level. We first investigate the interference structure and define the interference function. Then, we show that the considered interference function belongs to the standard interference function that converges the unique transmit power level. Through numerical examples, the convergence of the proposed power control algorithm is examined in the various transmission scenarios.

  • Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) can inject or absorb real and reactive power to or from a power system at a very fast rate on a repetitive basis. These characteristics make the application of SMES ideal for transmission grid control and stability enhancement. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the SMES model and scheme to control the active and reactive power through the power electronic device. Furthermore, an optimal priority scheme is proposed for the combination of active and reactive power control to be able to stabilize power transient swings.

  • The present voltage-reactive power control aims at an overall coordination of reactive power sources and voltage regulation devices to keep the bus voltages within their allowable bounds on one hand and to reduce the transmission losses on the other. This paper presents an efficient computer control scheme for the real-time control of system voltage and reactive power on the basis of a simplified linear equation by using the system characteristic constant. Computational algorithm is used for the minimization of bus voltage deviation in the first phase of optimization and for the reduction of transmission losses under the constraint of vlotage settling condition in the second phase. The numerical example for sample practical system is also given. The present study on the computer control scheme will contribute to the automation of power system operation in the near future.

  • This paper presents a new approach to Thyristor Controlled Phase Shifter (TCPS) control. In this paper we have proposed a nonlinear coordinated generator excitation and TCPS controller to enhance the transient stability of a power system. The proposed controller is able to control three main parameters affecting a.c. power transmission: namely excitation voltage, phase angle and reactance in a coordinated manner. The TCPS is located at the midpoint of the transmission line. A nonlinear feedback control law is proposed to linearize and decouple the power system. The design of the proposed controller is based on the local measurements only. Simulation results have been shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller for the enhancement of transient stability of the power system under a large sudden fault.

  • Prepare a lose of 765kV transmission route in power system operation condition, there are some Special Protection Scheme(SPS)s in Korean power system. These SPS can make some preselected generators are tripped to avoid generator overspeed. Because of many of the new large power plants are installed to existing power generation sites due to the siting problem, the number of generator tripped by SPS should be increased. But that can be a cause of system frequency change under the Under Frequency Relay(UFR) 1st pickup level 59.0Hz. Therefore generation constraint should be considered until new transmission lines are installed. In this paper, we propose the ESS application for generation constraint mitigation by frequency damping control of ESS. To analysis an effect of ESS application, we use PSS/E dynamic simulation tool, CBEST model and controller model. The proposed ESS application is applied to the empirical Korean power system.

  • This paper describes a distributed static series compensator (DSSC) which is a type of distributed flexible ac transmission system (DFACTS). The control principles including the power flow control and the current regulation are explained in detail. In order to verify the effectiveness of the DSSC, the simulation results are offered.

송전용 무효전력보상기의 제어시스템 설계와 성능해석 (Control System Design and Performance Analysis for Transmission Static Compensator)

  • 본 논문에서는 비선형상태피드백을 적용한 무효전력보상기의 제어시스템을 설계하여 시뮬레이션과 축소모형 실험에 의한 성능해석에 관해 기술하였다. 무효전력 보상기의 수리모형을 3상 등가회로와 대표적인 동작점에 대한 상태방정식을 이용하여 도출하였으며, 비선형 상태피드백을 고려한 무효전력 보상기의 동특성을 표현하는 전달함수를 유도하였다. 또한 근궤적을 이용한 시스템 안정도 해석을 실시하여 제어시스템 설계를 실시하였다. 고안된 제어시스템의 성능해석은 EMTP를 이용한 시뮬레이션과 축소모형 실험을 통해 검증하였는데, 검증결과 고안된 제어시스템은 송전계통의 무효전력보상에 우수한 성능을 갖음이 확인되었다.

PICNET-NP 통신망의 신뢰성 검증을 위한 시뮬레이션 구현 (A realization of simulator for reliability verification of the communication network PICNET-NP)

  • This dissertation suggests and implements a middle level network which is called PICNET-NP (Plant Implementation and Control Network for Nuclear Power Plant). PICNET-NP is based partly on IEEE 802.4 token-passing bus access method and partly on IEEE 802.3 physical layer. For this purpose a new interface a physical layer service translator, is introduced. A control network using this method is implemented and applied to a distributed real-time system. To verify the performance of proposed protocol experimental were carried out, and the following results are obtained. 1) proper initialization of the protocol. 2) normal receiving and transmission of data. 3) proper switching of transmission media in case of a fault condition on the one of transmission media. The proposed protocol exhibits the excellent performance in the experimental system. From the test results in the experimental system, the proposed protocol, PICNET-NP, can be used for the upgrading of a nuclear power plant and the distributed control system in the next generation of nuclear power plant.

  • A tractor is a farm vehicle that is designed to provide a high tractive effort at low speed. It is used for versatile agricultural tasks such as hauling a trailer, tillage, mowing and construction work. As the intensity of work increases, tractors equipped with automatic transmission become popular due to the work convenience. Though manual and power shuttle transmissions are produced by domestic corporations, development for full-automatic power shift transmissions has never been challenged, and so related technology level is quite low. This paper gives a survey of the automatic transmissions from advanced foreign company, which includes layout of gear train, the way hydraulics controls clutches and brakes, electronic control system. The results are expected to be utilized as a basis in the development of original power train design for tractor.
