In recent years, vehicle manufacturers have steadily developed fuel saving technologies such as multi-speed automatic transmission. With such a background, the Hyundai-powertech have developed the new 6-speed rear wheel drive(RWD)automatic transmission for FR vehicles. Despite having six-speed, it has the same number of planetary gears as a previously used five-speed automatic transmission and fewer brakes and one-way clutches than the 5 A/T, meaning that it is light, compact, and inexpensive. But, in addition to meshing this internal and external gear simultaneously and phase difference by the tooth contact point and the time difference occurs asymmetric and symmetric sideband noise and vibration caused by the modulation in the vehicle. In this paper presents a method for the design of the carrier phase difference by developing various theories and experiments for gear noise.

Recently, Cooling tower are used the necessary element in a residential area and living space on the viewpoint of indoor temperature control. The purpose of this study is to assistance the comfortable environment and economical measures of noise transmission mechanism on tile cooling tower. The results show that noise evaluation interact the main factor of distance reduction and diffraction reduction. Noise criterion apply to the NC level and equivalent transmission loss about already the design of noise reduction.

When predicting shipboard noise levels, the accuracy depends largely on the value of the structureborne noise transmission loss. Although empirical formulars are frequently used because of their simplicities, researches on the analytical methods to estimate the transmission loss of structureborne noise such as wave guide theory and SEA has long been one of the major topics in shipboard acoustics to overcome the inherent limitations of empirical ones. This paper describes an application of SEA to predict the transmission loss of the structurebornenoise of a simple ship-like structural model consisted of 22 flat plates. The result shows that discrepancies between experimental and theoretical transmission losses are less than 3 dB.

Corona interferences, such as radio noise, audible noise and television noise, need to be taken into account in the design of HVDC transmission line conductor configuration. Therefore the line designer requires data from which to estimate the corona performance of any set of conductors. To get a sufficiently complete set of design data, it is necessary to examine the corona test of a large number of conductor geometries. This paper presents the results of corona cage test among three types of candidate conductors. It is quite clear from test results that the conductor geometries play an important role in establishing the magnitude of corona noise. Corona noise data from corona cage test are expressed as a statistical distribution of results obtained over long periods of time and various weather conditions. Therefore we can determine an environmentally-friendly conductor bundle for HVDC overhead transmission line. Based on this finding results, various simulations about HVDC line configurations, such as pole space and pole height, will be conducted. And then finally an optimal configuration for HVDC transmission line will be decided.

At design stage of the TRXI agricultural tractor transmission (New product of TongYang Moolsan Co., Ltd), the noise and vibration of the transmission were analyzed theoretically for the optimal design of the transmission . For this analysis, the finite element model was developed using a commercial computer software, ANSYS. The noise and vibration of the TRXI transmission housing were predicted by the modal analysis. Natural frequency of the TRXI transmission housing was ranged from 12.53Hz(1st mode ) to 30.05Hz(5th mode). The fifth mode took place at the bearing metal in the area of rear transmission housing and was very close to the gear mesh frequency (30.5Hz) of low rang gear at the low creep shifting . Based on the results , the bearing metal of the range shift housing was reenforced with the rib at design stage.

Nowadays, lower gear vibration and noise are necessary for drivers in automotive gearbox, which means that transmission gearbox should be optimized to avoid noise annoyance and fatigue before quantity production. Transmission error (T.E.) is the excitation factor that affects the noise level known as gear whine, and is also the dominant source of noise in the gear transmission system. In this paper, the research background, the definition of T.E. and gear micro-modification were firstly presented, and then different transmission errors of loaded torques for the spur gear pair were studied and compared by a commercial software. It was determined that the optimum gear micro-modification could be applied to optimize the transmission error of the loaded gear pair. In the future, a transmission test rig which is introduced in this paper is about to be used to study the T.E. after gear micro-geometry modification. And finally, the optimized modification can be verified by B&K testing equipment in the semi-anechoic room later.
In order to investigate the radiation characteristics of unmixed line noise from overhead high voltage AC transmission lines, a gap noise generator was manufactured. Disk size which decides capacitance between the noise generator and earth was selected through preliminary indoor experiments and analysis by charge simulation method. The capacitance is one of principal parameters related to inject a proper noise current into lines. The field experiments were performed with the noise generator installed in Kochang 765 kV full scale test line. As the results, the useful data which can be used to analysis the radiation characteristics of noise from transmission lines was obtained. Those are lateral profiles the directivity of antenna toward lines, frequency spectra and so on.

In this paper Statistical Energy Analysis has been considered to predict high frequency air borne interior noise. Dash panel Insulation is major part to reduce engine excitation noise. Transmission loss and absorption coefficient are considered to predict dash insulation performance. Transmission lose is derived from coupling loss factor and absorption coefficient is derived from internal damping loss factor. Material Biot properties were used to calculate each loss factors. Insulation geometry thickness distribution was hard to measure, so FeGate software was used to calculate thickness map from CAD drawing. Each predicted transmission losses between conventional insulation and light weight insulation were compared with SEA. Transmission loss measurement was performed to validate each prediction result, and it showed good correlation between prediction and measurement. Finally interior noise prediction was performed and result showed light weight insulation system can reduce 40% weight to keep similar performance with conventional insulation system, even though light weigh insulation system has lower sound transmission loss and higher absorption coefficient than conventional system.

In this paper, we present our method of controlling the transmission path of compressor vibration to reduce the vibroacoustic of refrigerator. Firstly, to reduce the vibroacoustic radiated from compressor _ mount system, main transmission path was found experimentally and applied partial contact to transmission path to minimize the transmissibility from compressor operation to base plate. In order to verify our method, we designed changing of the connection part between grommet and base plate. Through experiment with modified connection part, we certificate experimentally the noise reduction of refrigerator. Finally, we apply previous connection part to grommet inner shape to enhance the effect of the system. From experimental results, we make certain the possibility of noise reduction of refrigerator through this approach.

In this paper, broadband shunt technique for increasing transmission loss is experimentally investigated. Piezoelectric shunt damping is studied using resonant shunt circuit and negative capacitor shunt circuit. A resonant shunt circuit is implemented by using a resistor and inductor. Negative Capacitor shunt damping is similar in nature to resonant shunt damping techniques, as a single piezoelectric material is used to dampen multi-mode. Performance of both methods is experimentally studied for noise reduction. This is based upon SAE J1400 test method and a transmission loss measurement system is provided for it. This paper will present the test setup fer transmission loss measurement and the tuning procedure of shunt circuits. Finally the results of sound transmission tests will be shown.
