의료통역전문인력 업무범위에 대한 소고 -의료통역능력검정시험 출제범위 중심으로 (A Study on the Past that Work Scope of Medical Interpreter Professional Personnel -Focusing on the Range of Possible Questions for the Medical Translation Ability Test)

  • 의료통역전문인력의 검정시험 평가항목으로는 대항목, 중항목, 소항목이 있으며, 그 기준 및 수준이 명확하지 않아 시험을 준비하는 자로 하여금 혼란이 야기될 수 있다. 이에 의료통역능력 검정시험 자격요건과 평가항목의 출제기준을 우리나라의 의료체계와 부합할 수 있도록 제안하고자 한다. 시행되고 있는 의료통역능력 검정시험에 대한 조사는 국내·외 자료를 수집하였으며, 유사검정시험과 비교 및 국외 시험과 비교하였다. 또한 의료통역능력 검정시험 문항개발, 출제경험이 있는 전문가들에게 검정시험에 대한 인식을 조사 하였다. 그 결과 국제문화 평가항목에 대하여 언어권문화는 의료권문화로 통역윤리는 의료통역윤리로 수정하였다. 병원시스템 평가항목은 대항목의 「의료관련법」에서 중항목인 「의료분쟁조정법」을 「의료사고피해구제 및 의료분쟁조정등에 관한법률」로 「의료관광관련법」 4개 항목을 2개로 축소하고, 「의료해외진출 및 외국인환자유치지원에 관한법률」을 추가하였다. 우리나라 의료문화와 부합되게 의료통역능력 검정시험이 마련된다면, 검정시험에 합격한 전문인력에게 전문가로서 활동할 수 있는 안정적인 기회가 마련될 것으로 판단된다.

한국어판 코펜하겐 사회심리적 업무환경 측정도구의 타당도와 신뢰도 (Reliability and Validity of the Korean Version of the Copenhagen Psyco-social Questionnaire Scale)

  • Purpose: This study aims to test the validity and criteria-related reliability of the Korean version of the Copenhagen Psyco-social Questionnaire version II (COPSOQ-K) assessing the psychosocial working environment. Methods: The COPSOQ-K was developed through forward-backward translation techniques, and revision based on feedback from focus groups. Survey data were collected from 311 office workers who worked in one workplace. An internal consistency reliability was estimated by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. The impacts of the COPSOQ-K scales on job satisfaction, self-rated health, stress, sleeping troubles, burnout, and sickness absence were analyzed with multiple regression model or multiple logistic regression model, adjusted age and gender using SAS version 9.3. The Pearson correlation coefficients between the COPSOQ-K scales and Korean job stress and its subdomain were identified. Results: Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of COPSOQ-K scales was adequate or good (0.66~0.87). The major COPSOQ-K scales predict job satisfaction, self-rated health, stress, sleeping troubles burnout, and sickness absence. The major COPSOQ-K scales were correlated with Korean job stress and its subdomain. Conclusion: The COPSOQ-K scales have satisfactory reliability and criteria-related validity. The COPSOQ-K scales will be useful for the future studies and practices associated with psychosocial working environment.

Visualization of RNA Pseudoknot Structures

  • RNA pseudoknots are not only important structural elements for forming the tertiary structure, but also responsible for several functions of RNA molecules such as frameshifting, read-through, and the initiation of translation. There exists no automatic method for drawing RNA pseudoknot structures, and thus representing RNA pseudoknots currently relies on significant amount of manual work. In this talk, I will introduce the first algorithm for automatically generating a drawing of RNA pseudoknot structures. Two basic criteria were adopted when designing the algorithm: (1) Overlapping of structural elements should be minimized to increase the readability of the drawing, and (2) The whole RNA structure as well as the pseudoknots themselves should be recognized quickly and clearly. The algorithm has been implemented in a JAVA program, which can be executed on any computing systems. Experimental results show that this program generates a clear and compact drawing of RNA pseudoknots and allows a biologist to gain insights into RNA pseudoknot structures. The program can also be used as useful aids in designing biochemical experiments to elucidate more precise mechanism of RNA functions associated with pseudoknots.

An elliptical fracture criterion for mixed mode fracture I+II emanating from notches

  • Some mixed mode fracture criterion may be converted in to elliptical or ellipsoidal formula with the aid of mathematical translation. Hence, the crack initiation in mixed mode fracture I+II emanating from notches, has been studied using notched circular ring specimens. On the basis of Irwin (1957) theory, a new criteria in mixed mode fracture I+II, based fracture elliptic criterion and notch stress intensity factors has been developed.

  • 이 연구는 기록관리 분야 용어를 대상으로 용어 사용실태를 조사하고 표준화 방안을 제시하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 우선 기록, 기록관리기관, 기록관리전문직 등 세 영역에 관련된 기초용어들의 번역실태를 조사하고, 이를 중국어 및 일본어 대역어와 비교하였다. 둘째, 전문용어 표준화를 위한 기준을 제시하고, 이러한 기준에 비추어 현재 사용되고 있는 기록관리 용어들의 문제점을 사례 중심으로 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 기록관리 용어 표준화 방안을 제안하였다.

Cellular machinery for sensing mechanical force

  • For mechanical force to induce changes in cellular behaviors, two main processes are inevitable; perception of the force and response to it. Perception of mechanical force by cells, or mechanosensing, requires mechanical force-induced conformational changes in mechanosensors. For this, at least one end of the mechanosensors should be anchored to relatively fixed structures, such as extracellular matrices or the cytoskeletons, while the other end should be pulled along the direction of the mechanical force. Alternatively, mechanosensors may be positioned in lipid bilayers, so that conformational changes in the embedded sensors can be induced by mechanical force-driven tension in the lipid bilayer. Responses to mechanical force by cells, or mechanotransduction, require translation of such mechanical force-induced conformational changes into biochemical signaling. For this, protein-protein interactions or enzymatic activities of mechanosensors should be modulated in response to force-induced structural changes. In the last decade, several molecules that met the required criteria of mechanosensors have been identified and proven to directly sense mechanical force. The present review introduces examples of such mechanosensors and summarizes their mechanisms of action.

Re-Examination of Several Elsinoë Species Reported from Japan

  • Elsinoë are plant pathogenic fungi that cause scabs, spotted anthracnose, and some morphological distortions on various plants, including woody plants, economically important crops, and ornamental plants. Taxonomical reexamination of Elsinoë species in Japan has not yet been conducted based on the modern species criteria. In this study, several Japanese isolates were reexamine based on the morphological and molecular-phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer region (ITS), large subunit gene (LSU)m and protein-coding gene such as RNA polymerase II subunit (rpb2) and Translation elongation factor 1-alpha (tef). Japanese isolates were divided into four clades and three new species, Elsinoë hydrangeae, E. sumire, and E. tanashiensis were proposed. One species, Sphaceloma akebiae, was transferred to the genus Elsinoë.

Cross-Cultural Validation of the McGill Quality of Life Questionnaire-Revised (MQOL-R), Korean Version; A Focus on People at the End of Life

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to confirm the factor structure of the McGill Quality of Life Questionnaire-Revised (MQOL-R) in the context of Korean culture and to verify its reliability and validity. Methods: The participants comprised terminal cancer patients aged 25 or older, and data from 164 participants were analyzed. The study was conducted in the following order: translation, expert review, reverse translation, preliminary investigation and interviews, and completion of the final version. Confirmatory factor analysis was applied to evaluate the validity of the instrument, and the Beck Depression Inventory, Korean version (K-BDI) was applied to confirm the criterion validity of the MQOL-R Korean version. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient, representing internal consistency, was measured to evaluate reliability. Results: Cronbach's alpha for all 14 questions was 0.862. The model fit indices for confirmatory factor analysis were within the acceptance criteria. The factor loadings of all four factors were over 0.50, and convergent validity and discriminant validity were confirmed. Regarding criterion validity, a negative correlation was found between the four factors of MQOL-R Korean version and the K-BDI. Conclusion: The MQOL-R Korean version, the reliability and validity of which were verified in this study, is a 15-item tool consisting of 14 items dealing with four physical, psychological, existential, and social factors and a single item evaluating the overall quality of life. The MQOL-R Korean version is an instrument that can more concisely and effectively measure the quality of life of patients with life-threatening diseases.

3차 칼라 객체 관계에 의한 내용 기반 영상 검색 (Content-Based Image Retrieval using Third Order Color Object Relation)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 칼라 특성을 이용한 내용 기반 영상 검색 방법을 적용 영역별로 분류 할 수 있는 기준을 제시하고, 그 기준에 의해 영상 내 공간 정보를 충분하게 표현할 수 있어 이동 및 회전 확대/축소 변형에 강한 영상 검색 방법을 제안한다. 일반적으로 칼라 특성을 이용한 내용 기반 영상 검색은 영상 내 공간정보를 충분하게 표현하지 못하여 이동 및 회전, 확대/축소 변형에 약한 단점을 지니고 있다. 이에 기존 연구에서는 인위적으로 영상을 여러 개로 분할하는 방법 등으로 공간 정보를 표현하고자 하였지만 특징 벡터의 수가 급격히 늘어남에 따라 검색 효율이 저하된다는 단점을 가지고있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 방법을 사용된 칼라 객체의 상호 관계에 따라 1차와 2차 관계에 의한 방법으로 분류하고, 이동, 회전 특히 크기 변화(축소,확대)에 탁월한 성능을 보이는 칼라 객체의 3차 관계를 이용한 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 주어진 영상으로부터 양자화된 24개의 버킷을 생성해서 각 버킷의 히스토그램의 크기 순서로 세 개 버킷을 선정하고 그들의 평균 칼라 위치를 계산해서 그들 간의 상호 각도를 추출하여 영상의 특징 벡터로 사용하였다. 실험 결과 기존 방법보다 특히 영상의 크기 변화에 대해 좋은 결과를 얻을수 있었으며, 계산량도 적어 효율적임을 보여 주었다.

측두하악장애의 수기치료에 관한 국내외 임상 연구 고찰 (A Review of Recent Clinical Studies for Manual Therapy on Temporomandibular Joint Disorder)

  • Objectives The aim of this review is to investigate clinical studies for manual therapy on Temporomandibular Joint Disorder and to propose for the better method of studies in the future. Methods We investigated recent clinical studies for manual therapy on Temporomandibular Joint Disorder via searching Pubmed, KISS, KISTI, KERIS, KMBASE and National Assembly Library. 21 domestic and overseas articles were analyzed and the journals, the authors, the published years, countries, methods, periods, techniques of chiropractic, outcome measures, and purpose of those articles were examined. Results Studies on manual therapy were mainly published via Cranio. The diagnostic criteria that most frequently adopted in the overseas articles were research diagnostic criteria for temporomandibular disorders, The technique of chiropractic that most frequently adopted in the articles was passive traction and translation of TMJ. Many of the studies were researched for effectiveness of the manual therapy as the secondary treatment. Conclusions Reviewing the recent clinical studies for manual therapy on temporomandibular joint disorder and figuring out the strong points and weak points of those studies are necessary to future studies. It is anticipated that this review would benefit the in-depth treatments for temporomandibular joint disorder in terms of Korean medicine.
