  • The objective of the study was to investigate if reproductive characteristics of $Pandalus$ $eous$ affect the depth distribution in the East Sea of Korea. $P.$ $eous$ was found at depths of 500-900 m in the East Sea of Korea, with the highest percentage occurrence (34%) at 500 m. A negative correlation was observed between the number of individuals and the depth. The overall sex ratio also turned out to be significantly correlated with depth. On average, the larger individuals (bigger than 26.37 cm), which included transitional, female, and ovigerous females, were mostly distributed at 700 m depth. The percentage of males increased by depth and ovigerous females were mainly distributed in the shallow water (300 m) during winter. Ovigerous females were not found at 900 m, which is the deepest depth range in this study. The percentage of transitional individuals was greatest at 500 m and decreased gradually with depth. All ovigerous female individuals were of the spent ovarian stage in winter. Female numbers in the ripe ovarian stage increased with depth and immature females rarely appeared. The gonadosomatic indices of the nonovigerous females and ovigerous females were highest at 700 m in depth. The mean egg size of $P.$ $eous$ was $0.83{\pm}0.11mm^3$ in the non-eyed stage and $0.93{\pm}0.17mm^3$ in the eyed stage.

  • The society, nowadays, is in a state of transition, and the family, which must always accomodate to society, is change with it. And because of transitional difficulties , the family's major psycosocial task has become more important than ever. That is , the family sill change. but it will aso reamin because it is the best human unit for rapidly changing societies. Under the circumstances, a healthy marital interaction is still the key to optimal family process, and the marital relationship is also the basis of the parental one. This paper aims to study an conceptual schema of family functioning chiefly concerned with marital relationship base d ton the family therapeutic psychology the systematic approaches of which have been recently developed. Subsequent to the importance of spouse functions and the characteristic of a functioning family the marital tension as a cause of marital problems and the theoretical approaches that will allow to deal with these problem , are also explained in this paper. On the otherhand, the sexual dysfunction, one aspect of a wider set of marital problems, and problems of dysfunctional children are not discussed in detail , because these problems shall become specialized fields. By this paper , it is expected to find a clue to the emotional and psycosocial aspects of marital problems, which will help us have a broader viewpoint in the study of family relationship.

  • This study analyzes excavated Danryeong of the same period to understand differences between female and male Danryeong, and to identify characteristics of female Danryeong, including their purpose, then-name and women's wearing of them. The subject female Danryeong were estimated to be worn in the late 15th century and the early 17th century, and newly-discovered female Danryeong, along with those examined in the Song Mi-kyeong's study, were studied. This study found that female Danryeong have distinctive characteristics from male's in many aspects such as ease of a garment, sleeve design, Hansam (a layered sleeve to cover hands), shape of Moos (side pleats), Goreum (a coat string), Dae (a belt). From this finding, the purpose of female Danryeong can be assumed: a ceremonial robe, which is different from that of mem's official robe. Female Danryeong began to disappear as Wonsam, a ceremonial topcoat, emerged. From the transitional Danryeong and excavated Wonsam, female Danryeong were estimated to be used as ceremonial robes in the mid Joseon period when Wonsam had yet to be created; and they were estimated to be called "Dansam" or "Wonsam."

  • If we take account of the Architectural Tradition which aims a construction of better environment, we can see that this tradition has ended historically toward Utopia. It is a continual trend from ancient to contemporary epoch especially in each transitional periods. Utopia is an ideal commonwealth in which inhabitants exist under perfect conditions, ideally perfect places or state of things. But, Dystopia implies skeptical perspective on the future which has emerged as a result of the increasing awareness about crisis concerning negative aspects highlighted by progress of science and technology since Modern era. Dystopia is the opposite of Utopia which was a propaganda used by Modern architecture and has characteristics of Post-Modernity. Utopias plans are complete projects of image, its goal is an improvement according to the eras. Its plans are characterized by rigid geometrical pattern as circle and square, which contain generally center·axis·enclosure·boundary·symmetry. Recent architectural circumstances no longer reflect utopian visions. Dystopias plans have described extreme mechanism, destructive offense, expression of fragmentation and differentiation in contemporary architecture. Therefore, as the Utopian architecture describes characteristics of the era unlike the continuity of its concept, the Dystopian architecture will find its expression differently while maintaining its basic concept and intention.

  • Long Sleeve Costume is often seen not only in ancient China but also in various neighboring places throughout the time. Costumes show the societies cultural preferences and values at that time, and Long Sleeve Costume is no exception. In my research, 1 focused on the time period from Han Dynasty to Tang dynasty in ancient China. During Han dynasty, Shenyl style robe(심의형 포) was widely worn, and it shows very little foreign cultural influence. For the period of Wei·Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties, foreign aspects of costume started to show up Possibly due to the influence of Buddhism and influx of foreign tribes. For instance, it is not too difficult to find hufu (호복) as well as Shenyl style robe, and it appears this Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties may have been a transitional period of accommodating two cultures without complete merger. Now, when it comes to Tang dynasty, we observe a creation of new cultural form in costume after adopting exotic culture. Because Sh ny style robe. often observed for a long time in Chinese history, disappeared, and tuanling(단영) and fanling(번영) became the main stream in their costume style in Tang dynasty.

  • Ecological corridor is the facility to connect two habitats fragmented by roads, dam, housing and industrial area. Critics of faunal corridors have suggested that they are simply an untested application of unproved island biogeography theory. But, everyone agree that ecological corridor is important useful structural components that help animal movement in fragmented landscapes. There are 52 ecological corridors in Korea. We investigated 43 ecological corridors of these and recorded the size of corridor, planting species, management and growth condition. We compared planting species to nearby exiting vegetation species and structure. We found that there are no considerations for many aspects of planting, for example, planting species, structure, animal migration and behavior, surrounding vegetation etc. Expecially, It was ignored management of plants, difference of surrounding vegetation, lacks of diverse planting species and structure. We suggest planting the native species of tall tree, shrub and ground cover, edge planting for transitional space between road and natural habitat, planting for foraging and breeding of target animal, diverse layer vegetation, and open space of center for rapid animal dispersal.

  • This research focuses on the role of Giovanni Marinioni during the formation of the modern cartography and cadastre during the 18th century. Initial study began with Giambattista Nolli's Roman map noticing not much information was available to acknowledge his activities during his Milan period before the departure to Rome. It became evident that Marinoni was a key person to understand the complex circumstances in which the professional training and formation of Giambattista Nolli took place as later worked as an anonymous intern during the elaboration of Theresian Cadastre of Milan. The other important figures are Leandro Anguissola and Giovanni Filippini. Anguissola's position and precedent work facilitated Marinoni's multidisciplinary activities that he had performed in Vienna and Milano in the field of making urban maps of those two cities. On the other hand, Filippini not only collaborated with Marinoni but also introduced Nolli in the field of cartography. These activities show transitional and dual aspects that characterized the period in which important irreversible changes that occur during the reign of Habsburg empire and in the rest of the Europe toward the formation of modern society and state. Marinoni's theories and praxis greatly influenced Nolli's later commitment under the Savoia and later on the elaboration of the 'Pianta Grande di Roma' in 1748.

  • The design and implementation aspects of a new single-balanced mixer for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications are presented in this study. The proposed mixer utilizes a miniaturized UWB ring coupler as a balun, consisting of a pair of in-phase and inverted-phase transitional structures. The well-balanced UWB performance of the ring coupler, aside from the optimized diode matching, results in improved conversion loss and inter-port isolations for a wide bandwidth. The size of the implemented single-balanced diode mixer is reduced to about 60% of the area of the conventional single-balanced ring diode mixer. The measured results of the proposed mixer exhibit an average conversion loss of 7.5 dB (minimum 6.7 dB) and a port-to-port isolation of greater than 18 dB over a UWB frequency range of 3.1-10.6 GHz. The measured results agree well with the simulated results.
