철도차량용 공기압축기의 열교환기 최적 설계를 위한 해석 연구 (Numerical Analysis for Optimal Design of Heat Exchanger in Air Compressor for Railroad Vehicle)

  • In this study, we examined the multi-stage piston-type air compressors typically used in a railroad vehicle, and the heat transfer efficiency was analyzed according to the design conditions of the heat exchanger (a compressor component module for cooling the compressed high temperature air). For the fin-tube heat exchanger used in the most air compressors, numerical analysis was performed to analyze heat transfer by defining the various rectangle tube sizes and the number of fin-per-unit area as design variables under the same flow rate of compressed air. Also, this analysis compared the temperature of the compressed air. Regarding environmental conditions for analysis, the flow rate of the external cooling air was measured and the mean value of the values was applied. And a "turbulence model" was considered in both the external flow of the cooling air and the internal flow inside the tube. From the results of analysis, it was found that the change of the aspect ratio value of the tube greatly influences the heat transfer efficiency of the compressed air, and influences if the fin density is relatively small. As a result, the optimum design specifications of the heat exchanger for air compressors were confirmed based on the analysis of the heat transfer efficiency, according to the design conditions of fin and tube by the operating temperature range of the compressed air.

90˚ 입력위상의 변화를 통한 2차원 무선전력전송 구현 (Design of Two-Dimensional Resonant Wireless Power Transfer Using 90˚ Phase Shifted Inputs)

  • 본 논문에서는 직교송신부에 $90^{\circ}$ 위상 천이된 전력 입력방식을 사용하여 2차원의 공진형 무선전력전송 송, 수신기를 설계 및 구현하였다. 제안한 송신기 각각의 직교 코일을 사용하여 상호 인덕턴스를 최소화하였으며 $90^{\circ}$ 위상 천이된 전력 입력방식을 사용하여 2차원의 공간으로 자계 에너지를 방사하도록 설계하였다. 이는 일반적인 무선전력 전송에서 위치에 따라 전송효율이 급격히 감소되는 문제점을 해결하여 2차원공간의 공진형 무선전력 전송을 가능케 한다. 이때의 공진주파수는 6.78 MHz이며, 송수신 공진기의 사이 거리가 200 mm일 때, 2차원 전 방향에서 40 % 이상의 무선전력 전송효율을 얻을 수 있다.

Improved Enucleation Efficiency of Pig Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer by Early Denudation of Oocytes at 30 Hours of In Vitro Maturation

  • Our goal was to examine the effects of early denudation on the enucleation efficiency and developmental competence of embryos following somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) and parthenogenetic activation (PA). Oocytes were denuded following 30 h of in vitro maturation (IVM) and then cultured with (D+) or without (D-) their detached cumulus cells for additional $10{\sim}14$ h. Control oocytes were denuded after $40{\sim}44$ h of IVM. The size of the perivitelline space was larger at 40 h of IVM ($11.7{\sim}11.8{\mu}m$) than at 30 h ($8.9{\mu}m;$ p<0.01). The distances between the metaphase II (M II) plates and the polar bodies (PBs) were shorter in D+ ($19.4{\mu}m$) and D- oocytes ($18.9{\mu}m$) than in control oocytes ($25.5{\mu}m;$ p<0.01). Enucleation rates following blind aspiration at 40 h of IVM were higher (p<0.01) in D+ (92%) and D- oocytes (93%) compared to controls (82%). Early denudation did not affect oocyte maturation or the in vitro development of SCNT and PA embryos. When SCNT embryos from D+ oocytes were transferred to four gilts, pregnancy was established in two pigs, and one of them farrowed three live piglets. In conclusion, early denudation of oocytes at 30 h of IVM could improve the enucleation efficiency by maintaining the M II plate and the PB within close proximity and support the in vivo development of SCNT embryos to term.

Efficiency evaluation and characteristics of receiver coil under different inserted resonance coils in wireless power charging system for MAGLEV

  • As the wireless power transfer (WPT) technology based on strongly resonance coupled method realizes large power charging without any wires through the air, there are advantages compared with the wired counterparts, such as convenient, safety and fearless transmission of power. From this reason, the WPT systems have started to be applied to the wireless charging for various power applications such as train, underwater ship, electric vehicle. This study aims for the effect and characteristics of different inserted resonance coil between Tx and Rx coils for charging system of superconducting magnetic levitation (MAGLEV) train. The transfer efficiency and effect are evaluated with helix type, rectangular type copper resonance coil, and HTS resonance coil under bulb and HTS magnet load, respectively. The input power is adapted with radio frequency (RF) power of 370 kHz below 500 W.

  • A study of heat transfer and thermophoretic particle deposition has been carried out for the Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition(MCVD) process. A new concept utilizing two torches is suggested to simulate the heating effects from repeated traversing torches. Calculation results for the wall temperatures and deposition efficiency are in good agreement with experimental data. The effects of variable properties are included and heat flux boundary condition is used to simulate the moving torch heating. A conjugate heat transfer which includes heat conduction through solid layer and heat teansfer in a gas in a tube is analyzed. Of particular interests are the effects of torch speeds and solid layer thicknesses on the deposition efficiency, rate and the tapered entry length.

  • A passenger vehicle has various and complicated transmission paths of sound and vibration. In order to identify the mechanism of transfer path, estimation of excitation force and exact modeling of transfer path are required. In this paper vector synthesis technique is employed to identify the characteristics of road noise and its transmission to vehicle compartment through noise and vibration analysis. Vibration reduction efficiency of each transfer path is evaluated by comparing individual vector components obtained virtual simulation. The degree of effect is used to estimate the contribution of vibration input components to total output. And in this paper presents a new technique based on simulation studies using vector synthesis diagram and design of experiments, by which the effects of magnitude and phase change of input paths can be predicted.

Optimization of Radiator Position in an Internally Radiating Photobioreactor: A Model Simulation Study

  • This study focused on the optimization of the illumination method for efficient use of light energies in a photobioreactor. In order to investigate the effect of radiator position, a model simulation study was carried out using Synechococcus sp. PCC 6301 and an internally radiating photobioreactor as a model system. The efficiency of light transfer in a photobioreactor was analyzed by estimating the average light intensity in a photobioreactor. The simulation result, indicate that there exists an optimal position of internal radiators, and that the optimal position varies with radiator number and cell concentration. When light radiators are placed at the optimal position, the average light intensity is about 30% higher than that obtained by placing radiators at the circumstance or center of a photobioreactor. The method presented in this work may be useful for improving light transfer efficiency in a photobioreactor.

  • Experimental study was conducted to increase the oxygen transfer efficiency of air diffusers in clean water. By measuring the bubble size from the bubbly two-phase flow visualization with several air diffusers, the size of air bubbles near the top surface of aeration tank seems to be independent on the diffuser types. Considering design parameters for the better break-up of larger bubbles around the air diffusers, advanced conceptual air diffusers using nozzle-type throat showing the higher oxygen transfer efficiencies were made.

  • 한정된 용량의 전송선로에서 데이터를 고속으로 전송하기 위해서는 데이터의 압축이 필요하다. 압축은 데이터의 양을 줄이면서 전송선로를 통한 데이터 전송은 빠르고 비용이 절감되도록 만들어 준다. 본 논문에서는 데이터 압축 소프트웨어나 하드웨어를 이용하여 데이터 통신의 응용에 어떻게 적용하는 과정을 전개하고 자 한다. 본 논문에서는 이 적용 과정에서 문제 시 되는 시스템이 원하는 효율과 시스템의 지연 문제를 해결을 위한 방안을 마련하고자 무손실과 다중이력을 지원하는 LZS압축시스템을 이용하여 실시간 데이터 압축전송 시스템을 구현하여 효율을 분석하고자 한다.

  • As wireless power transfer (WPT) technology using strongly coupled electromagnetic resonators is a recently explored technique to realize the large power delivery and storage without any cable or wire, this technique is required for diffusion of electric vehicles (EVs) since it makes possible a convenient charging system. Typically, since the normal conducting coils are used as a transmitting coil in the CPT system, there is limited to deliver the large power promptly in the contactless EV charging system. From this reason, we proposed the combination CPT technology with HTS transmitting antenna, In this study, we examined the improvement of transmission efficiency and properties for HTS and copper antennas, respectively, at 30 cm distance. Thus, we obtained improved transfer efficiency with HTS antenna over 10% compared with copper antenna
