  • This study aims to investigate the impact of wide use of digital technology, in particular, the Internet, on innovation process and corporate strategy in electronics industry. The introduction of digital technology has changed innovation process, business model and organizational structure of the electronics companies. With the wide use of digital technology, the entire value chain of electronics industry from procurement, sales, and marketing to R&D and manufacturing has been restructured. This paper examine how digital technology has changed firms' behaviors in various areas through e-commerce, virtual reality and simulation, the rise of a new type of firm called EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services), and etc. Amidst these changes building up innovation-friendly organization has emerged as a critical concern for firms. Due to the striking decrease of transaction cost, a network type of organization has proliferated, and a business function turns into a modular organization. As a whole, digital technology has pushed electronics firms into developing their own business model, which takes consideration of standardization of business platform and their core competency.

  • This paper investigates the influence of various stator pole shapes and yoke structures in Switched Reluctance Motors (SRM) on the mechanical behavior caused by the electromagnetic farce. The stator part in SRM produces most vibration. The geometric design of the stator is therefore necessary to reduce the vibration. Based on electromagnetic and structural Finite Element Method (FEM), the free and farced vibrations for the various structures of SRM with 6/4 poles are analyzed. Then a less vibration stator structure is proposed. Some of numerical computations for a prototype motor are verified by experimental results.

  • Automated production system is composed of many complicated techniques and it become a very difficult task to control, monitor and diagnose this compound system. Moreover, it is required to develop an effective diagnosing technique and reduce the diagnosing time while operating the system in parallel under many faults occurring concurrently. This study develops a Modular Artificial Neural Network(MANN) which can perform a diagnosing function of multiple faults with the following steps: 1) Modularizing a complicated system into subsystems. 2) Formulating a hierarchical structure by dividing the subsystem into many detailed elements. 3) Planting an artificial neural network into hierarchical module. The system developed is implemented on workstation platform with $X-Windows^{(r)}$ which provides multi-process, multi-tasking and IPC facilities for visualization of transaction, by applying the software written in $ANSI-C^{(r)}$ together with $MOTIF^{(r)}$ on the fault diagnosis of PI feedback controller reactor. It can be used as a simple stepping stone towards a perfect multiple diagnosing system covering with various industrial applications, and further provides an economical approach to prevent a disastrous failure of huge complicated systems.

  • 이 논문은 한국정보통신기술협회에 의해 1998년 11월에 제정된 HAS-160 해쉬 함수를 하드웨어로 구현하였다. SET(Secure Electronic Transaction) 혹은 SSL(Secure Socket Layer)등의 암호 프로토콜에서 하나의 구성 요소를 이루기 위해 설계되었고 초기값을 원래의 알고리즘에서 주어진 값이 아닌 사용자 혹은 프로토콜이 요구하는 값으로 입력할 수 있게 하였다. 전체적으로 회로는 VHDL top-down 설계 방법을 따랐고 IEEE 표준 라이브러리만을 사용하여 범용성을 가진다. 그리고 블록들은 내부적으로 행위적 수준(behavior level)에서 설계되었고 설계된 각각의 블록들은 구조적 수준(structure-level)에서 연결되었다. 설계된 회로는 125MHz의 클럭 주파수와 26Mbps의 성능으로 동작하며 ALTERA FLEX10K EPF10K200칩에서 6018(60%)개의 셀을 차지한다.

  • As an electricity industry transforms into a competitive system, an electricity market revolves into a combined market consisting of generation and operating reserve. This paper presents a market model combined by an energy market and an operating reserve market. In a competitive structure, Gencos strive to choose strategic bidding parameters that maximize total profit resulting from an energy market and a reserve market. The primary goal of the paper is to analyze power transactions of generation and operation reserve based on marginal profits and capacity limits at NE(Nash Equilibrium). In case studies, the reserve market and the energy market are compared at the n from the viewpoints of marginal profits, prices and transaction quantities. It is shown that the marginal profit in an energy market is equal to that in a reserve market, and Gencos strategic bidding is greatly influenced by capacity limit.

  • The existing PKI authentication structure uses the OCSP method. The primary task of OCSP is to verify the status of a transaction after verifying the validity of the certificate; but, because of continuing policy changes and updates within the PKI authentication method, the status of certificates and the structures are not consistent. Therefore, the SCVP method can be selected as the broadest method for completing authentication tasks accurately because the SCVP method includes validation of policy changes. An appropriate method for building an mobile environment within the capabilities of low-memory and reduced processing CPU needs to be assessed and developed. This thesis proposes a verification method that is independent of platform and applicable to any 05 in building and expanding the mobile environment.

  • This study intend to make easy modification, even if there is a new job or structure change, by modularizing program and computerize and automation of production control management used in CIM. Under the condition where manager control production on the job-site, for increasing connection with other operation and management on the computer by monitoring center computer, Recognizing information by computer is needed, it is possible by converting transaction. So production increase and quality improvement are possible by diminishing manager's and producer's work with the result of the study combining POP and CIM, after that, in e-business and m-business period that every enterprise must pass, customer satisfaction and sales promotion are possible with employee's computerizing minds. These study result also can knowledge process condition with theoretical class and have a power in finding a solution with foundation of theoretical knowledge.

  • Mining of association rules is to find associations among data items that appear together in some transactions or business activities. As of today, algorithms for association rule mining, as well as for other data mining tasks, are mostly applied to relational databases. As XML being adopted as the universal format for data storage and exchange, mining associations from XML data becomes an area of attention for researchers and developers. The challenge is that the semi-structured data format in XML is not directly suitable for traditional data mining algorithms and tools. In this paper we present an encoding method to encode XML tree-nodes. This method is used to store the XML data in Value Table and Transaction Table that can be easily accessed via indexing. The hierarchical relationship in the original XML tree structure is embedded in the encoding. We applied this method to association rules mining of XML data that may have missing data.

A Study on the Recognition System of the Il-Pa Stenographic Character Images using EBP Algorithm

  • In this paper, we would study the applicability of neural networks to the recognition process of Korean stenographic character image, applying the classification function, which is the greatest merit of those of neural networks applied to the various parts so far, to the stenographic character recognition, relatively simple classification work. Korean stenographic recognition algorithms, which recognize the characters by using some methods, have a quantitative problem that despite the simplicity of the structure, a lot of basic characters are impossible to classify into a type. They also have qualitative one that It Is not easy to classify characters fur the delicacy of the character farms. Even though this is the result of experiment under the limited environment of the basic characters, this shows the possibility that the stenographic characters can be recolonized effectively by neural network system. In this system, we got 90.86% recognition rate as an average.

Flash Memory Shadow Paging Scheme Using Deferred Cleaning List for Portable Databases (휴대용 데이터베이스를 위한 지연된 소거 리스트를 이용하는 플래시 메모리 쉐도우 페이징 기법)

  • Recently, flash memories are one of best media to support portable computer's storages in mobile computing environment. We propose a new transaction recovery scheme for a flash memory database environment which is based on a flash media file system. We improved traditional shadow paging schemes by reusing old data pages which are supposed to be invalidated in the course of writing a new data page in the flash file system environment. In order to reuse these data pages, we exploit deferred cleaning list structure in our flash memory shadow paging (FMSP) scheme. FMSP scheme removes the additional storage overhead for keeping shadow pages and minimizes the I/O performance degradation caused by data page distribution phenomena of traditional shadow paging schemes. We also propose a simulation model to show the performance of FMSP. Based on the results of the performance evaluation, we conclude that FMSP outperforms the traditional scheme.
