A formulation to perform static equilibrium and linear vibration analysis is presented in this paper. The formulation employs minimum number of equations of motion which are derived by using a partial velocity matrix, The static equilibrium analysis is performed first, then the linear vibration analysis is performed at the static equilibrium position. By using the formulation presented in this paper, static equilibrium and linear vibration analysis of a high speed electric train system are performed. A single bogie system, a power vehicle, and a train system which consists of five vehicles are analyzed, respectively. Natural frequencies and a few lowest mode shapes of the three are identified in this paper.
In this paper, an efficient and accurate formulation for the transient analysis of constrained multibody systems is presented. The formulation employs Kane's method along with the null space method. Kane's method reduces the dimension of equations of motion by using partial velocity matrix: it can improve the efficiency of the formulation. Furthermore, the formulation partitions the coefficient matrix of linear and nonlinear equations into several sub-matrices using kinematic uncoupling. This can solve the equations more efficiently. The proposed formulation can be used to perform dynamic analysis of systems which can he partitioned into several sub-systems such as train systems. One numerical example is given to demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the formulation, and another numerical example is given to show its application to the train systems.
In this paper, operation mode of train was divided into powering, coasting, and braking and rail wear phenomenon has been done comparative analysis by each section. Data of train velocity is transferred to acceleration and deceleration from ATO Logging data. Amount of rail wear has been done comparative analysis by traction force of acceleration and braking force of deceleration and a plan for management of track irregularity is come up with by the result of the analysis.
In a domestic, HSR-350x which has the maximum speed 350km/h was developed and then next, the next generation high speed train which has the maximum speed 400km/h has still been developing. With developing the next generation high speed railway, there need to be a general plan to make sure of dynamic safety though the a study on the crack and failure of rail by rolling contact fatigue. Therefore, this study investigated occurring stress of rail according to the track quality, train velocity, wheel radius, track stiffness, distance between sleepers, axial force using Eisenmann's equations. For the more, via the finite element method, it investigated shear force on the rail head which could be changed by the early crack length, angle and temperature. As a result, this study confirmed the main elements which effect on the fatigue life cycle of rail.
The funnel-shaped vortex structure of tornadoes results in a spatiotemporally varying wind velocity (speed and direction) field. However, very limited full-scale tornado data along the height and radius positions are available to identify and reliably establish a description of complex vortex structure together with the resulting aerodynamic effects on the high-speed train (HST). In this study, the improved delayed detached eddy simulation (IDDES) for flow structures and aerodynamic pressures around an HST under tornado-like winds are conducted to provide high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) results. To demonstrate the accuracy of the numerical method adopted in this study, both field observations and wind-tunnel data are utilized to respectively validate the simulated tornado flow fields and HST aerodynamics. Then, the flow structures and aerodynamic pressures (as well as aerodynamic forces and moments) around the HST at various locations within the tornado-like vortex are comprehensively compared to highlight the importance of considering the complex spatiotemporal wind features in the HST-tornado interactions.
The subway passengers are usually alert to the current location of the train in order not to miss the destination or transfer stations. The Global Positioning System (GPS), although expensive, can give an alarm if properly programmed, but cannot receive the satellite signals, underground. Therefore, a novel approach to context-aware location-based subway information system is motivated. The passengers, who are equipped with mobile devices such as laptop, PDA, and mobile phone as clients of the Personal Area Network (PAN), request the Bluetooth connection to the server which is installed in each car of the train. While the sorrel broadcasts the location-based information including the previous station, the current velocity of the train, the distance and time to the next station, the clients provide additional services based on the recognized context of the information, and what the passengers individually want. The services are spontaneous and autonomous rather than passive. The services include not only the information on the nearby stations, exit numbers, connection buses but also the location-based alarms which can be set specific to various personal requests, and sounded by the location of the train rather than time. Whereas the arrival time may not be accurate due to the delays of the train, the location can be accurately traced and broadcast by the server. Also, the clients do not need any expensive systems like GFS. Towards validating the proposed approach, we implemented a Bluetooth PAN including a PC server, two PDA clients and a laptop client. We modeled a train on the Incheon Subway Line #1 and a train on the Seoul-to-Incheon Line on the server, simulated the virtual trains together with the real clients. and verified that all the services were successfully provided.
For high-speed railways (HSR) in wind prone regions, wind barriers are often installed on bridges to ensure the running safety of trains. This paper analyzes the effect of wind barriers on the running safety of a high-speed train to cross winds when it passes on a bridge. Two simply-supported (S-S) PC bridges in China, one with 32 m box beams and the other with 16 m trough beams, are selected to perform the dynamic analyses. The bridges are modeled by 3-D finite elements and each vehicle in a train by a multi-rigid-body system connected with suspension springs and dashpots. The wind excitations on the train vehicles and the bridges are numerically simulated, using the static tri-component coefficients obtained from a wind tunnel test, taking into account the effects of wind barriers, train speed and the spatial correlation with wind forces on the deck. The whole histories of a train passing over the two bridges under strong cross winds are simulated and compared, considering variations of wind velocities, train speeds and without or with wind barriers. The threshold curves of wind velocity for train running safety on the two bridges are compared, from which the windbreak effect of the wind barrier are evaluated, based on which a beam structure with better performance is recommended.
This paper is implemented a control algorithm in order to be stable and minimized to entire train traffic system at delayed case. Signal ing system is described wi th algebraic equations given for train headway, Discrete-event simulation principles are reviewed and a demonstration block signaling model using the technique is implemented. Train congestion at station entrance for short headway operation is demonstrated and the propagation of delays along a platform of trains from any imposed delay to the leading train is also shown. A rail way signaling system is by nature a distributed operation with event triggered at discrete intervals. Although the train kinematic variables of position, velocity, and acceleration are continually changing, the changes are triggered when the trains pass over section boundaries and arrive at signals and route switches. This paper deals with linear-mode1ing, stability and optimal control for the traffic on such metro line of the model is reconstructed in order to adapt the circuits. This paper propose optimal control laws wi th state feedback ensuring the stability of the modeled system for circuits. Simulation results show the benefit to be expected from an efficient traffic control. The main results are summarized as follows: 1. In this paper we develop a linear model describing the traffic for both loop lines, two state space equations have been analyzed. The first one is adapted to the situation where a complete nominal time schedule is available while second one is adapted when only the nominal time interval between trains is known, in both cases we show the unstability of the traffic when the proceeding train is delayed following properties, - They are easily implemented at law cost on existing lines. - They ensure the exponetial stability of loop system. 2. These control laws have been tested on a traffic simulation software taking into the non-linearites and the physical constraints on a metro line. By means of simulation, the efficiency of the proposed optimal control laws are shown.

The dynamic characteristics of valve train are responsible for the dynamic performances of engine. We derived the equation of motion for 6 degrees of freedom model of the valve train. Computer model is also developed with flexible multibody model considering contact between components. The simulation results with these two models are compared with experimental results. We investigated the effect of the two spring models, TSDA (Translational Spring Damper Actuator) element and flexible body model, on the valve behavior and spring force. It is found that the dynamic behavior of the two models are not very different at normal operational velocity of the engine. By modeling contact between cam and tappet, the stress distributions of the cam were found. Using stress distribution obtained, contact width and contact stresses of the cam surface were calculated with Hertz contact theory.

Gear train in the automobile to be used for controlling gas flow in automobiles consists of spur gears with involute tooth type in multiple stages. This spur gear is designed considering to the high power transfer efficiency, bending stress and contact stress in the static and dynamic analysis. The torque has been increased simultaneously the angular velocity has been decreased through the stages after being supplied by AC synchronous motor. This apparatus is controlled by electrical devices such as the PIC microprocessor, hall sensor and other electric components. By comparing the preset data of PIC microcomputer which is supplied by external DC electric power with the value set of hall sensor which detects the rotation angle position, PIC microcomputer thus controls AC motor and gear train according to the program algorithm which includes the on-off control and PWM motor driving method. As the result of the experiment such as performance, fatigue, torque test, we can conclude that this system is superior to the same and familiar foreign systems.
