High-speed Trains Driving Functions Analysis Using Systems Engineering

  • In this paper, driving functions of the Korea High-speed Trains were decomposed based on systems engineering architecture. In order to analyze the driving function, various systems engineering tools and methods were used. Moreover, interfaces of decomposed driving functions were analyzed to figure out purposes of the driving functions. Through activity modeling of driving function of the Korea High-Speed Trains, main functions were derived when starting, speeding and stopping. When the high speed train is speeding, pre-departure checks and wheel slide prevention are essential driving activities for the safety and when the high speed train runs high speed, maintaining driving stability by monitoring bogie hunting and monitoring drivers' safe operation by vigilance systems is important. Furthermore, when the train is braking, the driver should checks brake and suspensions as safety actions.

  • 도시철도 운행시스템에서 외란에 의해 지연이 발생하면 열차 사이에 간격편차가 발생하고 열차운행 상황이 불안정해진다. 따라서 이러한 불안정한 열차운행을 방지하기 위해서는 열차간격을 적절하게 제어하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 상용 도시철도 운행시스템에서 외란에 의해 지연이 발생하는 경우에 안정한 운행을 위하여 간단하면서 효과적으로 적용할 수 있는 열차간격 최적제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 실시간 열차간격 편차의 크기에 따라 제어 대상열차를 결정하고 이산 열차간격 모델을 이용하여 대상열차의 정차시간을 조절함으로써 모든 열차가 적정 운행간격을 유지하도록 제어한다. 또한 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제안한 방법의 유효성을 확인한다.

  • The security system using optical fiber is a system, circulating infrared rays laser pulse on the optical fiber which is attached on the security fence to prevent invasion, which can show invasion position with visible and audible signal on the situation monitor if an invader cut or pull the security fence with minuteness of 10m. The optical fiber can be also applied for the bed structure stability monitoring system of high speed train as well as security system. To apply this system for high speed railroad bed structures, this system will give an alarm if it detect excessive tension, shrinkage, deflection which is beyond the limit of structure, that will prevent serious railroad accident. In this paper, we like to propose that applying this system for security and structure stability can improve confidence and stability on operation of railways

  • This research aims to test the running stability of the developed bogie with maximum operating speed of 350km/h, which of Korea TGV was 300km/h. The running stability test has been executed in status of a dummy car with one developed bogie and one dummy bogie on the roller rig to embody similar operation condition. The test has been done in the two rail conditions, i.e. excitation and non-excitation, respectively. Running speed has been increased by the roller step by step. In consequence, the developed bogie was proven to be able to run upto 400 Km/h without any unstable point in the non-excitation. Vibration characteristics of carbody also was within the value specified on the UIC 515.

  • This paper suggests blending time adjusting method of braking command characteristics management and Set value test for optimizing of braking deceleration to enhance the precise position stopping. This method minimizes pneumatic-braking degree deviation by characteristics management, and secures braking stability at braking. By Set value test method, braking blending characteristics are analyzed accurately. And by optimal timing tuning at braking blending, It enhanced the precise position stopping with stabilization of deceleration To demonstrate the usefulness of these suggestion, I modeled for Deajeon Line #1. And through comparison with case of related companies, the proposed method which this paper suggested is proved to be superior to others.

  • Currently in Korea, neutral sections in front of substations and sectioning posts are greatly divided into AC/DC sections and AC/AC sections. Considering catenary damage and safety issues trains pass crossover by coasting driving at notch-off. However in cases of Japan, China, or Taiwan, the usage of automatic crossover system makes it possible to pass at notch-on, enhancing high-speed railway operation for efficiency, and stability. These are the purposes of developing automatic power crossover system in neutral sections. This paper introduces two methods to detect the position of a train required to activate automatic crossover systems in neutral sections. The optimal method is expected in terms of the distance of neutral section.

응집공정이 세라믹 정밀여과막 파울링에 미치는 영향 (Effect of coagaulation on ceramic microfiltration membrane fouling)

  • It is well known that coagulation pretreatment can reduce foulants prior to membrane filtration. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of coagulation on fouling of ceramic microfiltration membrane($0.1 {\mu}m$) using pilot plant of $150m^3/day/train$ capacity. Train A membrane system has pretreatment process of ozonation and coagulation while train B has only coagulation. Two types of coagulation operation were investigated: back mixer(rapid mixing with or without slow mixing) which is a conventional mechanically stirred mixer and an inline static mixer. Ozone dose rate for train A was 1 mg/L and ozone contact time was 12 min. The coagulation dose(PACl 10% as $Al_2O_3$) rate was changed 20~40 mg/L according to experimental schedule. In this experimental conditions, the coagulation of back mixer type with rapid mixing(GT=72,000) and slow mixing(GT=45,000) was the best effective in reduction of ceramic membrane fouling regardless preozonation. Especially, the effect of inline static mixer was sensitive to change in water quality. Ozonation mainly affected irreversible fouling rather than reversible fouling in accordance with less adsorption of NOM on the membrane surface. Thus, the increase rate of the nomalized TMP(trans membrane pressure) at $25^{\circ}C$ for train A was relatively lower than that of train B under same coagulation process with same coagulant dosage. The best performance of ceramic membrane appeared in case of combined process with ozonation, therefore this integrated process is able to archive less coagulant dosing and secure a stability of ceramic membrane system.

Max-Plus 대수를 이용한 환승 스케줄 시간표 작성 및 분석 (Timetabling and Analysis of Train Connection Schedule Using Max-Plus Algebra)

  • Max-Plus 대수란, 선형 대수(linear algebra)에서의 더하기(addition) 연산과 곱하기(multiplication)연산을 최대값(maximization), 더하기(addition)로 각각 대체한 비선형 시스템을 말한다. Max-Plus 대수는 전통적인 의미의 선형 대수에서 다뤄지는 고유값(eigenvalue), 고유벡터(eigenvector), 안전성(stability) 등의 개념이 Max-Plus 대수에서도 그대로 적용되고, 그것의 의미 또한 실제 시스템의 다양한 해석을 가능케 하고 있어, 최대값 연산과 더하기 연산으로 이루어진 이산 사건 시스템(discrete event system)을 분석할 수 있는 유용한 도구가 된다. 이러한 이산 사건 시스템의 대표적인 예가 바로 환승을 고려한 열차 스케줄이다. 현재 수도권에는 1호선${\sim}$8호선, 인천 1호선, 분당선, 중앙선 등 11개 노선의 도시 철도가 운영되고 있다. 각 노선들은 서울 Metro, 서울도시철도공사, KORAIL 등 서로 다른 운영사에 의해 운영되고 있어서 각 노선의 스케줄 또한 노선간의 환승을 고려하지 않은 채 독립적으로 작성되고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 독립적인 열차 스케줄은 승객들의 긴 환승시간으로 이어진다. 본 연구에서는 Max-flus대수 방법론에 대한 자세한 설명을 기초로 1호선과 2호선, 4호선의 주요 환승역인 사당역과 신도림역, 시청역, 동대문역을 중심으로 Max-Plus 대수 방법론의 적용 가능성을 검토해 보았다.

전기철도 차량 내 변압기의 여자돌입전류 저감에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Reduction of Onboard Transformer Inrush Current of Electric Railway)

  • The neutral section on electric railway system is significant sector in order to prevent short circuit of two electric powers. However, while electric trains pass the neutral section, those speed is decreased and the accident of AC electric traction system and the electric train would be occurred. So the countermeasures are urgently needed. The automatic power switching technology system that is current being research and development is system to improve these problems. Because main object of this system is power change using static switch in the neutral section, it's expected to cause a variety of transients. Especially, onboard transformer inrush current for electric railway train can be occurred more than rated current according to switching time. Therefore, the analysis and improvement are needed to ensure the stability of this system. In this paper, we analyze the operating characteristics of the automatic power switching technology system. Especially, it reviews inrush current according to the closing phase angle. And we propose control plan of inrush current considering the case that voltage is maintained due to counter electromotive force and regenerative braking operation of electric railway train. Finally, the proposed control scheme was reviewed using the transient analysis program.
