1차원 충돌 동역학 해석을 이용한 한국형 고속전철의 충돌사고 안전도 평가 (An Evaluation of Crashworthiness on the KHST using 1D Collision Dynamic Analysis)

  • In this study, the crashworthiness of KHST has been evaluated by analysing a nonlinear spring/bar-damper-mass model of 1-dimensional collision dynamics. The numerical results show that KHST can easily absorb kinetic energy at lower impact force and acceleration in heavy collisions, when compared with KTX. Also, in a Light collision like a traint-to-train accident at lower speed under 8 kph, the carbody and components of KHST can be protected without any damage except the energy absorbing tube to be replaced easily. However, KTX may be much damaged in the light collision because there is no energy absorbing tube. In conclusion, the crashworthy performance of KHST has been much improved than that of KTX, although there are something to be improved for a better crashworthy performance

동력분산형 차세대고속전철의 충돌안전도 개념설계 연구 (A Study on Conceptual Design for Crashworthiness of the Next Generation High-speed EMU)

  • 본 논문에서는 국내철도차량안전기준의 충돌안전 요구사항을 만족하는 동력 분산형 고속전철의 충돌안전도 개념설계에 대하여 연구하였다. 국내안전기준에는 36km/h 열차 대 열차 충돌, 15ton 변형체 장애물과 110km/h 충돌 등 2가지 중충돌 사고에 대한 충돌안전성능을 요구한다. 한국형 분산형 차세대고속열차는 17ton 축중의 동력집중형 KTX와 달리 13ton 축중을 가지는 2TC-6M로 구성된다. 이론적 수치적 해석을 통하여 주요 압괴구조 및 부품의 평균압괴하중과 변형량을 에너지 흡수 관점에서 충돌안전도 개념설계안으로 도출하였다. 도출된 개념 설계안은 1차원 막대-스프링-댐퍼-질량 동역학 시뮬레이션 결과로부터 국내 충돌안전기준을 잘 만족시킬 수 있음을 보였다.

  • Design for automatic coupler system of Korean Tilting Train eXpress is described. In order to carry out validation & verification activities for system design, test condition is taken into account at collision speed of 10km/h, which is required in Safety Notice for rolling stock vehicle. The study aims at safety validation between a coupler and car body including design verification for a coupler through the identifying of system design and the evaluating of test results.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the effective analytical procedure using finite element model for the crashworthiness of motorized trailer of high speed train. The static crush of rectangular section frame is analyzed by experiment and numerical simulation. The equivalent thickness distribution of the aluminum frame ensuring the same energy absorption as the steel frame is obtained. In the analysis of end-on collision of TGV-K, deformed pattern and section forces are obtained, and the effect of crushable zone are examined. The numerical results are applied to the design of motorized trailer of Korean high speed train.

  • In a high speed train, OBCS(On-Board Computer System) is a up-to-date computer control system that provide controlling, monitoring, maintaining and reparing of the important device, supporting a driver, status of a train, service maintenance, managing the remote control mode, driving order & control, control of a electrical or pneumatic circuit and a passenger service. In general, OBCS is located in each car but in a power car, both main and auxiliary computers are used. These avoid a network collision and maintain the independence of condition and failure records with the information of line number, train number and car number. This paper is intended to provide the information about the identification coding method of domestic and foreign OBCS, for the new high speed train (KTX-II).

  • A route control in railway is one of the very important system to operate a train. An efficient train route control assures to increase train operation performance with a same railway system. The erroneous route control can accompany serious accidents which occur train collision or derailment which provokes death. A Route control carries out exactly lest the accident should take place. An interlocking table is widely used for the exact route control. The table has the problem of its exactness proving because it has been established by experts. In this paper, We tried to formalize a route control using mathematical logic. A route consists of symbolized tracks, signals, switch and crossing. It represents as a set, respectively. We proposed route setting control logic, converted the elements to set logics and construct route logics with the set logics of the elements. Finally we proposed a model which presents a prototype routes and we proved the proposed logics using the proposed method.

  • It is important to predict the collision behavior of a train consist to improve its crashworthiness. To analyze crash behavior of train, four kinds of methods are mainly used so far. The first is method using multibody dynamics to predict the gross motion of the train set. The second uses 3D FE model to apply the section analysis method in order. The third is used to deduce design specification and evaluate the crashworhiness of a train by using 1D model. The last is to constitute 2D model to check overriding and coupling devices. The train evaluation procedures are so complex that it is difficult to understand or deal with. In this study, VTM for railway train was introduced to simplify the procedures. VTM involves 3D models, 1D models and dynamic components such as suspension and coupling. The method using hybrid concept model makes it possible to do all the things that are mentioned above. To analyze crash behavior tendency of VTM, the model was simulated and the simulation results were discussed.

  • The reason of train location detection is generally the train interval control between the railway stations and the train path control in the railway station yard in order to avoid train collision. It is very important to know the train location for shortening the train headway, and improving the efficiency of railway maintenance as well as the safe operation of trains. Therefore, the accurate detection of train location is the prerequisite technology in railway signalling system. The track circuit and the wheel sensor of rolling stock have been used to detect the train location widely in urban railway as well as high speed train. The track circuit is continuously monitored by electrical equipment to detect the absence of the train and the tachometer and encoder is used for the wheel sensor to measure the train speed. But speed sensor failures are frequent due to the extremely harsh operating conditions encountered in rail vehicle. The CBTC(Communication based Train Control) system has been used in urban railway system recently. But the installation of CBTC system is very high and the modification of design is difficult. This paper deals with the feasibility of new train location detection method using magnetic sensors.

차륜-레일 구름접촉을 적용한 철도차량 유한요소 모델의 충돌 기인 탈선거동 해석 (Collision-induced Derailment Analysis of a Finite Element Model of Rolling Stock Applying Rolling Contacts for Wheel-rail Interaction)

  • In this paper, a finite element analysis technique of rolling stock models for collision-induced derailments was suggested using rolling contacts for wheel-rail interaction. The collision-induced derailments of rolling stock can be categorized into two patterns of wheel-climb and wheel-lift according to the friction direction between wheel flange and rail. The wheel-climb derailment types are classified as Climb-up, Climb/roll-over and Roll-over-C types, and the wheel-lift derailment types as Slip-up, Slip/roll-over and Roll-over-L types. To verify the rolling contact simulations for wheel-rail interaction, dynamic simulations of a single wheelset using Recurdyn of Functionbay and Ls-Dyna of LSTC were performed and compared for the 6-typical derailments. The collision-induced derailment simulation of the finite element model of KHST (Korean High Speed Train) was conducted and verified using the theoretical predictions of a simplified wheel-set model proposed for each derailment type.
