  • 무선 멀티미디어 센서 네트워크(Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network : WMSN)는 기존 스칼라 데이터 뿐만 아니라 음성, 이미지, 동영상 등 다양한 멀티미디어 정보를 전달해야 하므로 다양한 특성을 가진 트래픽을 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 서비스 품질(Quality of Service : QoS)를 지원할 수 있는 메커니즘이 필요하다. 본 논문은 WMSN 에서의 트래픽 유형을 주기적 모니터링 트래픽, 이벤트 트래픽, 멀티미디어 트래픽, 쿼리 기반 트래픽으로 분류하고, 각 트래픽 유형에 따라 지연, 에너지 효율성 및 신뢰성에 대해 차별화된 QoS를 제공할 수 있는 마킹 알고리즘과 큐 관리 메커니즘을 제안한고, 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 분석한다.

Blockchain-Assisted Trust Management Scheme for Securing VANETs

  • The main goal of VANETs is to improve the safety of all road users. Therefore, the accuracy and trustworthiness of messages transmitted in VANETs are essential, given that life may rely on them. VANETs are provided with basic security services through the use of public key infrastructure-based authentication. However, the trust of users is still an open issue in VANETs. It is important to prevent bogus message attacks from internal vehicles as well as protect vehicle privacy. In this paper, we propose a trust management scheme that ensures trust in VANETs while maintaining vehicle privacy. The trust scheme establishes trust between vehicles where a trust value is assigned to every vehicle based on its behavior and messages are accepted only from vehicles whose trust value is greater than a threshold, therefore, protecting VANETs from malicious vehicles and eliminating bogus messages. If a traffic event happens, vehicles upload event messages to the reachable roadside unit (RSU). Once the RSU has confirmed that the event happened, it announces the event to vehicles in its vicinity and records it into the blockchain. Using this mechanism, RSUs are prevented from sending fake or unverified event notifications. Simulations are carried out in the context of bogus message attacks to evaluate the trust scheme's reliability and efficiency. The results of the simulation indicate that the proposed scheme outperforms the compared schemes and is highly resistant to bogus message attacks.

  • Segment routing (SR) is a highly implementable approach for traffic engineering (TE) with high flexibility, high scalability, and high stability, which can be established upon existing network infrastructure. Thus, when a network failure occurs, it can leverage the existing rerouting methods, such as rerouting based on Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) and fast rerouting with loop-free alternates. To better exploit these features, we propose a high-performance and easy-to-deploy method SRUF (Segment Routing under Uncertain Failures). The method is inspired by the Value-at-Risk (VaR) theory in finance. Just as each investment risk is considered in financial investment, SRUF also considers each traffic distribution scheme's risk when forwarding traffic to achieve optimal traffic distribution. Specifically, SRUF takes into account that every link may fail and therefore has inherent robustness and high availability. Also, SRUF considers that a single link failure is a low-probability event; hence it can achieve high performance. We perform experiments on real topologies to validate the flexibility, high-availability, and load balancing of SRUF. The results show that when given an availability requirement, SRUF has greater load balancing performance under uncertain failures and that when given a demand requirement, SRUF can achieve higher availability.

교통 돌발 상황을 고려한 도로 속도 예측 기법 (Road Speed Prediction Scheme Considering Traffic Incidents)

  • 교통 혼잡으로 인한 사회적 비용이 증가하면서 도로 속도를 예측하기 위한 다양한 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 도로 속도 예측의 정확도를 향상시키기 위해서는 교통 돌발 상황을 고려할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 교통 돌발 상황을 고려한 도로 속도 예측 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 연결된 도로들이 미치는 영향을 반영하기 위해서 예측 도로의 속도 데이터 뿐만 아니라 연결된 도로들의 속도 데이터도 이용한다. 또한, 돌발 상황으로 인한 혼잡을 예측하기 위해 속도의 변화량을 분석한다. 연결된 도로와 타겟 도로의 속도 데이터를 LSTM의 입력 데이터로 이용하여 1차적으로 도로 속도를 예측한다. 교통 돌발 상황으로 도로의 규칙적인 흐름이 깨지며 발생하는 예측 오차를 줄이기 위해 이벤트 가중치를 적용하여 최종적으로 도로 속도를 예측한다. 다양한 성능 평가를 통해 제안된 방법의 우수성을 입증한다.

첨단안전장치 장착 버스의 사고사례 분석 (Analysis for Traffic Accident of the Bus with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS))

  • Recently a traffic accident of heavy duty vehicles under the mandatory installation of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) is often reported in the media. Heavy duty vehicle accidents are normally occurring a high number of passenger's injury. According to report of Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, FCW (Forward Collision Warning) and AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) were associated with a statistically significant 12% reduction in the rate of police-reportable crashes per vehicle miles traveled, and a significant 41% reduction in the rear-end crash rate of large trucks. Also many countries around the world, including Korea, are studying the effects of ADAS installation on accident reduction. Traffic accident statistics of passenger vehicle for business purpose in TMACS (Traffic safety information Management Complex System in Korea) tends to remarkably reduce the number of deaths due to the accident (2017(211), 2018(170), 2019(139)), but the number of traffic accidents (2017(8,939), 2018(9,181), 2019(10,095)) increases. In this paper, it is introduced a traffic accident case that could lead to high injury traffic accidents by being equipped with AEB in a bus. AEB reduces accidents and damage in general but malfunction of AEB could occur severe accident. Therefore, proper education is required to use AEB system, simply instead of focusing on developing and installing AEB to prevent traffic accidents. Traffic accident of AEB equipped vehicle may arise a new dispute between a driver's fault and vehicle defect. It is highly recommended to regulate an advanced event data recorder system.

제어망에서 화이트 리스트 기법을 이용한 이상 징후 탐지에 관한 연구 (A Study of an Anomalous Event Detection using White-List on Control Networks)

  • 폐쇄적으로 구축되었던 제어망이 최근 업무 상 편의 또는 대외 기관과의 협력 필요 등으로 외부와 연동되면서, 일반적인 네트워크 환경과 유사하게 변화하고 있다. 그리고 개방형 운영체제, 프로그램 및 프로토콜 등을 사용하는 제어망 환경은 기존에 알려진 보안 취약점을 그대로 갖고 있으며, 제어 시스템의 취약점과 관련한 공격 기법이 발달하는 등의 위험에 직면하고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 화이트 리스트 기법을 적용한 이상 징후 탐지를 통해 보안성을 확보하고 위협을 최소화할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 제시된 방법을 통해 업무망, 제어망 및 필드장치 내 트래픽을 모니터링하여 정상적인 데이터만을 수집 및 목록화 할 수 있고, 비정상행위로부터 격리된 상태를 확인하여 위협을 배제시킬 수 있다. 그러나 정상적 비정상적 트래픽 패턴에 대한 오경보가 발생할 수 있으며, 이를 최소화하는 노력도 함께 경주해야 한다.

대역폭 할당 기법에 의한 필드버스 네트워크의 트래픽 관리 및 제어 (Management and control of fieldbus network traffic by bandwidth allocation scheme)

  • Fieldbus is the lowest level communication network in factory automation and process control systems. Performance of factory automation and process control systems is directly affected by the data delay induced by network traffic. Data generated from several distributed field devices can be largely divided into three categories: sporadic real-time, periodic real-time and non real-time data. Since these data share one fieldbus network medium, the limited bandwidth of a fieldbus network must be appropriately allocated to the sporadic real-time, periodic real-time and non real-time traffic. This paper introduces a new fieldbus design scheme which allocates the limited bandwidth of fieldbus network to several different kinds of traffic. The design scheme introduced in this study not only satisfies the performance requirements of application systems interconnected into the fieldbus but also fully utilizes the network resources. The design scheme introduced in this study can be applicable to cyclic service protocols operated under single-service discipline. The bandwidth allocation scheme introduced in this study is verified using a discrete-event/continuous-time simulation experiment.

A Study on the Anomalous Traffic Handling

  • For recent years, hacking is in the trends of making excessive traffic unnecessarily to obstruct the service by getting a system's performance down. And we can also see systems paralyzed in service ability due to the flash crowds of normal traffic to a popular website. This is an important problem certainly solved in the point of QoS guarantee for the clients. It is known that the former is DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) attack and the latter is FE(Flash Event). These two are samely anomalous traffic because these make excessive congestion on the network or system and downgrade the system's service ability. In this paper, we propose a scheme for protecting the system against anomalous traffic and for guaranteeing the QoS. For this, a server records and maintains the information of clients accessed more than one time before when it is in normal condition. When it falls into the congestion, the records are used for filtering the spoofed IP. We send and receive the ICMP request/reply packet to know whether the IP is spoofed. And we also propose for applying the object spliting of CDN to guarantee the QoS in the initial FE situation.

이력자료 참조일수에 따른 고속도로 교통량 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction of Traffic Volume on Highway by the Reference Day of Archived Data)

  • 연구목적: 현재 국내에서는 지능형 교통체계(Intelligent transport system)의 일환으로 실시간 교통정보를 수집하여 도로운영의 효율성을 높이고 있다. 하지만 실시간 자료를 기반으로 한 교통정보는 운전자가 경험하게 될 교통상황과는 차이가 존재한다. 연구방법: 본 연구에서는 기존 교통량 이력자료 바탕으로 이력자료의 과거참조일수를 3일, 5일, 10일로 조정하여 요일별, 시간대별로 장래의 고속도로 교통량 예측을 수행하였다. 연구결과: 과거 참조일수가 적을수록 예측오차가 작게 나타나는 것을 알 수 있었다. 5번의 과거이력을 참조하여 월요일을 예측한 결과는 10번의 과거이력을 참조했을 때보다 오차가 크게 나타났는데 이는 분석대상 기간인 2016년의 6번째 월요일이 명절이기 때문에 평소의 월요일 교통흐름과는 다소 차이가 있었기 때문으로 판단된다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 교통량예측 시 과거이력의 참조일수가 적을수록 비교적 오차가 적은 것을 알 수 있었으며 특수한 날에는 해당 이벤트의 교통량이력의 자료를 사용하면 보다 정확도 높은 결과를 나타낼 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Aerodynamic analysis on the step types of a railway tunnel with non-uniform cross-section

  • The pressure-mitigating effects of a high-speed train passing through a tunnel with a partially reduced cross-section are investigated via the numerical approach. A compressible, three-dimensional RNG k-ε turbulence model and a hybrid mesh strategy are adopted to reproduce that event, which is validated by the moving model test. Three step-like tunnel forms and two additional transitions at the tunnel junction are proposed and their aerodynamic performance is compared and scrutinized with a constant cross-sectional tunnel as the benchmark. The results show that the tunnel step is unrelated to the pressure mitigation effects since the case of a double-step tunnel has no advantage in comparison to a single-step tunnel, but the excavated volume is an essential matter. The pressure peaks are reduced at different levels along with the increase of the excavated earth volume and the peaks are either fitted with power or logarithmic function relationships. In addition, the Arc and Oblique-transitions have very limited gaps, and their pressure curves are identical to each other, whereas the Rec-transition leads to relatively lower pressure peaks in CPmax, CPmin, and ΔCP, with 5.2%, 4.0%, and 4.1% relieved compared with Oblique-transition. This study could provide guidance for the design of the novel railway tunnel.
