  • Traditional network management technologies don't have interoperability to use differentprotocols or management information models each other. Many researchers have tried to find solutions of these problems to use distributed paradigms. But the benefits of existing models are mainly supported only by qualitative evidences rather than by quantitative evidences. In this paper, we present a quantitative evidence of the efficiency of network management model using mobile agent paradigm. To compare distributed paradigms and proposed model, we use parameterized traffic models for measuring the amount of whole traffic generated by each model.

  • In a virtual environment, agents must demonstrate some degree of realism and interactivity. This paper discusses the algorithm that enables agents to navigate a virtual road network realistically and interactively. The road description files written in this language provide the information of road environments to the navigating agents and the scene visualizer. We call this navigating agent in the road an ambient car. The ambient cars must follow the traffic rules as human does. To do this, the ambient car should continuously check its circumstances, such as, the traffic lights, lanes, road signs, and other ambient cars. Because of the huge scale of road network and the large number of ambient cars, the algorithm considers only the area where the participant is currently located. By this locality, the performance of the whole system does not fluctuate much in different situations. The behavior of ambient cars according to the predefined rules may appear monotonous. We added probability distribution functions to introduce some randomness. We implemented the above idea on silicon Graphics Indigo 2 workstation. The ambient car exhibited its awareness of lanes, traffic lights, and other cars. The participants could hardly distinguish between a human-controlled car and computer-controlled ambient car generated by the algorithm.

  • HLA-RTI is Middleware for the distribute simulation that developed in the US Department of Defense. This provides fast accomplishment speed and reliability than distribute simulation Middleware by transfer. However, DDM(Data Distribution Management) service is used as data filtering technology in the existing HLA-RTI. As for this, the problem that network traffic increases in data exchange between the mobility simulation objects is generated. it proposes applying agent technology to the mobility simulation object in order to solve these problems in this paper in this. And this paper applies that to practical simulation and analyzes performance between each data filtering technology with comparison.

이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 OMB(Object Management Group, Inc)는 이질적인 에이전트시스템간의 상호운용성(interoperability)과 이식성을 증진시킬 목적으로 MAF(Mobile Agent Facilities) 명세를 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 OMG MAF 명세를 만족하는 이동 에이전트시스템을 Java 프로그래밍 언어를 이용하여 개발하였다.

  • Two multicast delivery schemes are proposed to minimize the packet loss that occurs in the mobile multicast (MoM) protocol due to the handoff and relocation. The proposed schemes use a primary designated multicast service provider (DMSP) and a redundant or non-redundant backup DMSP. The simulation results verify that the proposed schemes greatly reduce the packet loss rate at the expense of the increased network traffic or the extra protocol overhead related to the operation of the non-redundant backup DMSP.

  • Emerged in early 1990s, so called 'Quick service' industry that provides faster delivery of small parcels than regular mail service accelerated use of motorcycles. As the economic grows, use of large bicycles (more than 250CC displacement) for leisure purpose has also rapidly increased. Traffic crash data clearly shows the increasing trend in motorcycle crashes. The ratio of motorcycle involved crashes out of total has increased from 5.7% in 2005 to 8.3% in 2008, and similar trend can be found in fatalities ratio as well. In this study, we assess the level of risk when motorcycles operate on motorways by analyzing traffic rule violation ratio, lane change behaviour, driving speed behaviors of motorcycles in Uninterrupted Traffic Flow Facilities and using PC-CRASH simulation we also calculate car shock impulses occurred when an accident happens. Analysis result shows that the motorcycle is different from the car in terms of lane change timing and average speed, and also shows motorcycle drivers tends to conduct more improper driving behavior particularly when traffic is congested. The results from this study could be usefully applied when the law enforcement agent decides whether bicycles shall be allowed to use motorways. The result could be also utilized as fundamental information for further study of bicycles' driving behavior.

  • Autonomous Vehicles(AV) are considered as an alternative to solve various social problems. Many researches which are related to developing technologies and AV operations have been conducted vastly and on-going. However, there seem to be little studies on various influences of AI algorithm on driving installed in AV. This study aims to examine the impacts of the ethical decisions made by Utilitarianism-based AI in AV when the oncoming car crossed over the central line. It establishes scenarios about situation of encroaching a central line and analyzes traffic impacts of ethical decision made by AV. According to the results of the analyses, as th accident occurs, overall speed of traffic decrease. There is a negative impact on the traffic flow when AV made an Utilitarian-based ethical decision by changing the lane. However, when AV choose to collide head-on, there is a positive effect to relieve traffic flow with an assistance of CACC, equipped.

  • Modern day networks are increasingly moving towards peer to peer architecture where routing tasks will not be limited to some dedicated routers, but instead all computers in a network will take part in some routing task. Since there are no specialized routers, each node performs some routing tasks and information passes from one neighbouring node to another, not in the form of dumb data, but as intelligent virtual agents or active code that performs some tasks by executing at intermediate nodes in its itinerary. The mobile agents can run, and they are free to d other tasks as the agent will take care of the routing tasks. The mobile agents because of their inherent 'intelligence'are better able to execute complex routing tasks and handle unexpected situations as compared to traditional routing techniques. In a modern day dynamic network users get connected frequently, change neighbours and disconnect at a rapid pace. There can be unexpected link failure as well. The mobile agent based routing system should be able to react to these situations in a fact and efficient manner so that information regarding change in topology propagates quickly and at the same time the network should not get burdened with traffic. We intend to build such a system.

  • In CDMA cellular system, inefficient Channel assignment for high-speed mobile host increase call blocking probability For it has been method proposed to guarantee QoS upon tn the speed of hierarchical cell that is allocated Queues and dedicated channels of high speed mobile host's speed. In this paper, We allocated the dedicated channel of high-speed handoff In FA (Foreign Agent), only if the receive signal strength of mobile host in current cell that there is low traffic in HA (Home Agent). also, we created new Circular queue LiFA (Limited Foreign Agent) for high-speed handoff call that signal strength is weak in certain FA, and had this High-speed handoff call to be ready for Life time to the new Circular queue LiFA. Thus improve the rate of the forced call termination.

  • Currently there are many standards of network management. They are: SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol - for Internet management), CMIP(Common Management Information Protocol - standardized by ITU-T and ISO), RMON(Remote network MONitoring - for distributed management of the LAN segment), and so on. Especially RMON has created the many concerns in order to manage subnetworks of a large network, but it has negative aspects. For instance, routers or hubs with RMON capability are expensive to a network manager because of adding heavy management cost. Moreover it imposes a heavier burden on network manager, because it must use a network management tool which will be additionally needed with RMON device. This paper proposes a model of PC based RMON Agent system. The RMON Agent system monitors the traffic on LAN segment through the use of a Virtual Device Driver(VxD), based on PC. In term of cost this model will replace the expensive RMON device, and eventually enable a network manager to manage LAN segment more efficiently, due to reduced cost.
