멀티미디어 게임을 활용한 환경수업이 초등학생의 외래생물에 대한 인식, 학습동기 및 성취도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Environment Lesson using Multimedia Game on Recognition, Learning Motivation and Achievement of Elementary Students about Alien Species)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a multimedia game program as a strategy for teaching alien species and to examine the effect of the program on recognition, motivation and achievement about alien species. In order to find the effect of developed program, 62 students among 6th graders at S Elementary School located in Gyeonggi-do were divided into two groups. Lesson with multimedia game was given to the experimental group, and the control group received traditional lesson. The results were as follows. First, the experimental and control groups showed significant difference in recognition of alien species. Second, the two groups showed statistically significant difference in learning motivation. For the subdomains of the recognition, significant results were obtained at the significance in attentiveness, relevance, confidence and satisfaction. Third, the two groups showed significant difference in academic achievement. Lastly as a result of interviewing subjects of the experimental group about lesson based on game, subjects generally had positive opinions that the new learning method is interesting and has helpful influence on the lesson.

시뮬레이션기반 심폐응급간호교육이 신규간호사의 지식, 임상수행능력 및 문제해결과정에 미치는 효과 (Effect of a Simulation-based Education on Cardio-pulmonary Emergency Care Knowledge, Clinical Performance Ability and Problem Solving Process in New Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the effects of simulation-based education regarding care in a cardio-pulmonary emergency care as related to knowledge, clinical performance ability, and problem solving process in new nurses. Methods: An equivalent control group pre-post test experimental design was used. Fifty new nurses were recruited, 26 nurses for the experimental group and 24 nurses for the control group. The simulation-based cardio-pulmonary emergency care education included lecture, skill training, team-based practice, and debriefing, and it was implemented with the experimental group for a week in May, 2009. Data were analyzed using frequency, ratio, chi-square, Fisher's exact probability and t-test with the SPSS program. Results: The experimental group who had the simulation-based education showed significantly higher know-ledge (t=5.76, p<.001) and clinical performance ability (t=5.86, p<.001) for cardio-pulmonary emergency care compared with the control group who had traditional education but problem solving process was not included (t=1.11, p=.138). Conclusion: The results indicate that a simulation-based education is an effective teaching method to improve knowledge and clinical performance ability in new nurses learning cardio-pulmonary emergency care. Further study is needed to identify the effect of a simulation-based team discussion on cognitive outcome of clinical nurses such as problem solving skills.

  • Considering the present and expected demand for human resources by the maritime community, its quantity and quality depend on the number of the ships and the technology applied to them. Scientific and economic developments in this community bring the intensive use of modem technology for many of ships operation. Generally it effects to reduce the quantity of manpower, while it increases the requirement of qualifications of human resources to utilize such advanced technology. Considering above, the maritime education, training and research activities should be revised and updated according to the demand of the community. Because of a difference between the transition of the demand for the human resources and development of the maritime education, training and research activities, there are two most common questions as “What to teach” and “How to teach”. The first question has been asked for many years. The contents of maritime education and training are always related to the existing maritime knowledge and technology and should be updated with consideration of changes of the demand namely “Globalisation of maritime community”. It brings globalisation of the maritime education, training and research activities. The second question is still keeping us busy to look for the best way. Presently traditional methods are used together with new system, while the use of sophisticated simulation, communication and information systems etc. and it is changing our understanding on teaching. This paper introduces the new role of Maritime Institutions from the viewpoints of the maritime education. training and research activities. The role of guide for seafarers and maritime companies is always essential and the concepts such as “Refreshment Training”, “On the Job Training”, “Lifelong” or “Continuous Training” bring new understanding to the training period, trainee's age and position. As a result, the maritime institutions should be ready for their new role, which is, in brief, guiding the maritime society, recommending and providing new learning environments, organising research and developments, performing the education, training and assessment, improving existing methods and developing new methods of the education, training and assessment.

앵커드 수업을 통한 알고리즘 학습이 초등학생의 문제해결력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Anchored Instruction on Elementary School Students' Problem-solving in Algorithm Learning)

  • 현대 지식 정보 사회에서 컴퓨터 교과 교육의 흐름은 학습자의 논리적 사고력, 창의력, 문제해결력 등의 고차원적 사고를 길러줄 수 있는 컴퓨터 과학 학습으로 나아가고 있다. 본 연구는 학습자의 문제해결력 향상을 위해 알고리즘적 사고 신장의 필요성을 인식하고 초등학생의 알고리즘 학습을 위해 앵커드 수업을 활용하여 알고리즘 수업을 설계하고 그 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 앵커드 수업을 위하여 문제해결과정의 앵커드 수업 모형을 활용하고 일상생활에서 알고리즘을 사용할 수 있는 예를 찾아 앵커로 제작하여 수업에 투입하였다. 초등학교 학생들을 대상으로 전통적 알고리즘 학습을 실시한 통제집단과 앵커드 수업을 활용한 알고리즘 학습의 실험집단으로 구분하여 실험처치 수업을 실시한 결과 실험집단이 통제집단에 비해 문제해결력 향상에 더 큰 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

한국 규방공예에 대한 실태조사 및 활용 방안 모색 (A Study on the Current Trend and Implication for Development of Gyubang Craft)

  • This article aims to discover the current status and appropriate way to research Gyubang craft, expecting its development and preservation, and elevating it to Korea's unique artistic textile culture. It also searches improved methods for Gyubang craft as the following: First, in order to avoid confusions about Gyubang craft, appropriate concepts and definitions of Gyubang craft must be settled through a discussion among experts. Second, by activating economic activities at lower ratio, among purposes of Gyubang craft, achievements must be elevated. Third, in order to settle down the difficulties of Gyubang craft, a variety of methods such as effective sewing machines and manufacturing techniques as well as providing materials at a reasonable price, considering practical ways through diversifying products, elevating the economy of crafts, exploring sales routes, improving educational contents, and expanding educational places must be facilitated. Fourth, for nurturing talented and excellent human resources in the area of Gyubang craft, the followings should be considered: diversifying contents of education, developing textbooks, improving instructors' quality, providing reasonable cost of education, educating on the utilization and application of Gyubang craft, introducing efficient teaching methods through textbooks and multimedia, awarding 'certificates' to trainees, and permitting certificate holders' to instruct Gyubang craft. Finally, it is convinced that the achievement of production, pride of preserving tradition, pleasure of procedural work, economic activities as experts, and sales of products will be reinforced, and the population for Gyubang craft is also expected to increase. By elevating Gyubang craft into Korea's traditional textile art, Korea's global competitiveness in the area of textile should be strengthened.

학습부진아 유형별 처치프로그램이 중학생의 과학 성취도와 과학에 대한 태도에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a Treatment Program by Types of Underachiever on the Science Achievement and Attitude Toward Science in Junior High School Students)

  • 본 연구는 중학교 과학 학습부진아들에게 그들의 성취도와 과학에 대한 태도의 향상을 위한 2학년 교과 내용 중 '전압과 전류'수업에서 처치프로그램을 개발하여 기존의 수업방법과 비교하여 그 효과를 알아보려는 목적으로 수행되었다. 독립변인으로 수업처지와 부진아 유형을 선정하였고, 종속변인으로는 성취도와 과학에 대한 태도를 선정하였다. 연구목적에 따라 설정된 가설을 검증하기 위한 측정도구로 성취도 검사지, 과학에 대한 태도 검사지가 사용되었으며, 대구 시내의 O중학교 2학년 남학생 171명(이들 중 부진아는 54명)을 대상으로 연구를 수행하였다. 통계기법으로는 수업처치 및 부진아 유형에 따른 종속변인의 차이를 알아보기 위해 t 검증을 실시하였다. 기초지식 부족과 학습동기 결핍을 해소하도록 협동 학습의 LT모형을 채택한 프로그램을 제작하여 학습 부진아들에게 적용하였더니, 처치 프로그램은 학습부진아들의 성취도와 과학에 대한 태도를 유의미하게 증진시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 효과는 학습 부진아 중에서 기초지식의 부족과 학습동기가 결핍된 부진아들에게서 주로 나타났다.

법률학적 모형에 의한 STS 프로그램이 고등학교 학습부진아의 학업성취도와 태도에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Jurisprudental Inquiry Model-Oriented STS Program on the High School Underachievers)

  • 본 연구에서는 고등학교 학습 부진 학생을 대상으로 법률학적 탐구 모형에 의한 STS 프로그램의 효과에 대해서 조사하였다. 야간 고등학교 학생 76명을 연구 대상으로 하여 법률학적 모형에 의한 STS 프로그램을 적용한 실험 집단과 전통적인 강의식 수업을 실시한 통제 집단으로 나누어 조사하였다. 본 연구에서 활용한 법률학적 모형에 의한 STS 프로그램은 고등학교 공통과학의 생명 단원 중 '영양과 건강', '자극과 반응'과 '생식'의 3개 소단원을 8차시 분량으로 나누어 적용하였다. 실험 집단의 학업 성취도는 통제 집단에 비해 유의미하게 향상되었으며 (p<.05) 과학에 대한 전반적인 태도에 있어서도 긍정적으로 변화하였다(p<.05). 이 결과로부터 학생의 학업 성취수준에 적합한 STS 프로그램의 개발이 필요하며, 학습 부진아를 위한 교수 학습 방법 및 학습 프로그램의 개발이 요구된다고 하겠다.

국외 의과대학의 문제바탕학습 (Problem-Based Learning) (Problem-Based Learning in medical schools worldwide)

  • Purpose : Since PBL was first developed by Howard Barrows at McMaster, it has been adopted as one of the best teaching and learning methods in medical schools throughout the world. However, the educational superiority of PBL relative to traditional approaches is less clear. Given the somewhat extensive resources required for the operation of PBL curriculum, this gives reason for concern. The aim of this study is to review experiences of PBL in other medical schools and learn how to implement PBL in our school. Methods : This study was undertaken in two stages. In the first stage, PBL curricular examples in 7 medical schools (University of Pennsylvania, University of Melbourne, University of Maastricht, McMaster University, Flinders University, Harvard medical school. University of California at L.A.) were collected and summarized. In the second stage, a careful search for articles of journals published since 2000 regarding PBL group assessment, effectiveness of PBL and group facilitation skills was conducted. Results : PBL is generally introduced in a core curriculum in undergraduate medical education. Relating to small group assessment, the perception of students has been well developed. but the current PBL assessment tool needs to be revised, to develop thinking skills of students. The PBL graduates considered themselves as having much better interpersonal skills, better competencies in problem solving and self-directed learning than the non-PBL graduates. Tutors used various techniques to raise awareness, facilitate the group process and direct learning. Conclusions : The following three aspects can be regarded as important in this study. First, to implement PBL in our school more effectively, it might be considered, which curriculum content can be best learned with PBL. Second, to enhance students' thinking skills during PBL, a new assessment tool needs to be developed. Third, tutors' competencies are important to facilitate, group process, so it would be worthwhile including in staff development.

교육용프로그래밍언어의 효과에 관한 메타분석 (A Meta-Analysis on the Effects of Educational Programming Language)

  • 본 연구는 국내에서 연구된 석 박사 학위논문과 학술지에 게재된 논문 중에서 선정기준에 부합하는 교육용프로그래밍언어(EPL)에 관한 논문 31편을 대상으로 메타분석 방법을 적용하여 학습효과를 분석하였다. 분석대상 자료로부터 45개의 효과크기를 산출하였고, 효과크기의 변인 간 차이에 대해 t검정 및 F검정을 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, EPL의 전체 평균 효과크기는 1.01, $U_3$지수는 84.38%로 나타나 EPL 수업은 전통적 프로그래밍 수업에 비해 34.38% 학습효과가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 중재변인별로 분석한 결과는 교과별, 간행형식별 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다. 학령별로는 고등학생보다 초 중학생에게 조금 더 큰 효과크기가 나타났으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 없었다. 실험설계별로는 단일집단 전후검사설계보다 이질통제집단 전후검사설계에서 통계적으로 큰 효과크기가 나타났다. 셋째, 종속변인별로는 전체 EPL 효과크기가 창의성 1.90, 문제해결력 1.25, 논리적 사고 1.18, 학습동기 0.81, 학업성취도 0.59 순으로 나타났다. 종합적으로 EPL은 전통적인 교수 학습방법보다 학습효과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

초등학교 과학 수업에서 협동학습의 실태와 교사들의 인식 (Current Situation of Implementing Cooperative Learning in Elementary Science Classes and Teachers' Perceptions toward Cooperative Learning)

  • 이 연구에서는 초등학교 과학 수업에서 실시되는 협동학습의 실태와 초등 교사들의 협동학습에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 연구 대상은 초등 교사 138명이었고, 그 중 96명은 협동학습을 실시한 경험이 있었다. 선행 연구를 바탕으로 검사지를 개발하였다. 연구 결과, 많은 교사들이 협동학습을 충분히 이해하지 못하고 일부 교사는 전통적 소집단 학습과 협동학습을 구분하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 협동학습을 실시한 경험이 있는 교사들이 협동학습의 효과 범주에서는 긍정적인 인식을 지니고 있었지만, 협동학습의 과정 범주에서는 차이가 없었다. 교육 경력과 협동학습 관련 연수의 이수 경험은 교사들의 인식에 뚜렷한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다.
