This research approach is different from the existing definition of Tropical House. It was derived from an electronic music genre (deep house, chill out, dance hall). However, this study explains that Tropical House contains elements of other art forms as well as electronic music. These are the elements of Ireland's traditional music (Celtic music). This study explains why the fusion of Tropical House and Celtic music was easy. And it shows that elements of Celtic music are included in Tropical House through eight popular songs. It can be confirmed that the melody, harmony, rhythm, singing method, instrumentation, and structure of Tropical House are intertwined with the elements of Celtic music. The key point of this research is to suggest that Celtic musical elements are found in the Tropical House genre. In addition, creators need to pay attention to various types of music, including traditional music from around the world. It is suggested that creators need to think about how to combine today's music with various other genres to create original music.
Korea's traditional house type, the Hanok, has been the essence of Korean domestic culture for hundreds of years. However, Hanok, have begun to disappear as result of urbanization. Because mud walls are crude and weak in water walls are also easily broken by impact. There are further problems in that construction cost is expensive and takes more time than modern house construction, and that the maintenance of Hanok is more difficult than people sometimes predict. Despite much interest in Hanok construction, there is a lack of in younger generation. Thus seeking new ways of maintaining Korea's traditional housing culture and extending Korean traditional houses is important. This study proposes directions for creating new residential environments for the future generation of Korea. A Dry-wall alternative to the Korean traditional mud wall is particularly needed. Dry-walling, made by sustainable materials such as mud board and wood, can strengthen the advantages and make up for the weaknesses of the Korea traditional mud wall. In this study, both wall types underwent various evaluations in terms of their performance in insulation testing, freezing and thawing testing, impacting testing and weight measuring (the size of material in this experiment was $69cm{\times}105cm$). On all of these tests, findings revealed that the dry-wall alternative performed better than traditional mud wall.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the basic historical characteristics and its modern trend of Torajan traditional housing architecture in Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. The Toraja culture belongs to the cosmological culture with Cosmos centric characteristics. The Torajan architecture is a combination of the myth and cosmos, also regional conditions. With a short description of the general conditions and spiritual values of the Toraja, this paper explains the space-composition, the stylistic characteristics, the ornamental elements, construction, and its modern trend, etc. In general, it is raised on stilts several metres high, with a dramatically boat-shaped roof. Village layout varies according to size. The houses are arranged in a row, side by side, with their front gables facing north. Each house stands opposite its own rice-barn. The houses with their oblong ground-plans, built on piles set on stones. The interior is divided into three or four rooms, having few window. The houses are embellished with carving and paintings, and the facades display engraved and painted geometric and figural designs. The most frequent motif is the buffalo head, ranging from the realistic to the highly stylized. The Torajan traditional housing have experienced radical changes during the Modern period. In spite of the popularity of new modern house-styles, the traditional architectural style is often now constructed as an icon of Toraja identity. This paper will be helpful for understanding regional diversity of the traditional housing in Southeast Asia.

This study has main purpose to understand and interpret the house Nok-U-dang, an upper class built in Chosun dynasty, not by outsider researcher's view but insider dweller's view. To interpret correctly, dweller's everyday life in the space and form is examined on a microscale beyond the physical space and form of the house, main object of architectural history To understand the present form exactly, the study restore traditional life in past era, 1940s. Main method of restoration is the ethnographic interview, based on cultural anthropology. Like any other upper-class house, the house has been influenced under ruling Confucian ideology in Chosun dynasty: separation of man's and woman's quarters and hierachical arrangement by generation, and worshipping ceremony for ancestor. However, it is by practical management for agricultural production that every court and building of the Noku-Dang can be explained correctly; preparing seed for sowing, tool storing, preparing and serving meal for laborers, making manure, harvesting, threshing grain, storing grain and so on. Precedent studies interpreted the house by the Confucian principle too much and made conclusion of dignity and austerity of ritual: woman's quarter, is closed and serene space. However this study shows that the space is semi-opened and composite space by agricultural works. And the Sarangchae, master's quarter, is located properly at visual center to control every agricultural activity.
