  • This paper describes the results of a study on the tracking performance of outdoor insulating materials based on the rotating wheel dip test(RWDT). And, the influence of surface degradation was evaluated through such as measurement of the flashover voltage after and before tracking test, also aspects of surface degradation using scanning electron microscopy. The time to tracking breakdown of treated filled specimen is longer than untreated filled specimen. And, after the RWDT, the surface of specimen by adding untreated filler appeared heavy erosion. It was found that the addition to surface treated filler, the better tracking resistance. In the RWDT, the breakdown specimen is not affected by the dry flashover voltage, despite the fact that the surface degradation of tracking test has different state on each specimen. This suggests that wet flashover voltage play an important role in evaluating of tracking and erosion on the surface degradation in tracking test. And, the flashover voltage of specimen under wet conditions are greatly affected by the salt concentration and degree of degradation by the RWDT Because of hydrophobicity and degree of degradation by the RWDT, the flashover voltage of treated filled specimen is higher than that of untreated filled specimen. Different types of specimen may have different hydrophobicity and their surface state under contaminated conditions may not be the same.

  • An underwater mooing target position tracking system using image tracking system of CPMC is developed to use in a test basin. Generally the performance tests of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles(AUVs) are conducted in the sea. Some efforts to perform the test in a test basin are exist, because the real sea tests need much time and manpower. And also the real sea tests are high cost. There is a restriction to acquire the position of AUVs using sonar sensor system in the test tank, because many sound reflecters are exist in a test basin. In this paper a position tracking system for underwater mooing target developed to break though this restriction. A Tank-test is conducted to examine the performance of the position tracking system.

  • This paper describes a tracking test results for the organic polymers with PE(polyethylene) series by a declining method. After processing the 4 PE series insulations with different density, the tracking duration for each was measured and compared with that for ABS(acrylonitrile butadiene styrene). The surface condition of each specimen was carefully observed after the tracking test. As a result, HDPE showed excellent performance in tracking test.

  • Defense Systems Test Center in ADD supports increasingly various missile test requirements such as higher altitude event, multi target operation and low-altitude, high velocity target tracking. In this paper, we have proposed the development of instrumentation radar tracking status simulator based on virtual reality. This simulator can predict the tracking status and risk of failure using several modeling algorithms. It consists of target model, radar model, environment model and several algorithms includes the multipath interference effects. Simulation results show that the predict tracking status and signal are similar to the test results of the live flight test. This simulator predicts and analyze all of the status and critical parameters such as the optimal site location, servo response, optimal flight trajectory, LOS(Line of Sight). This simulator provides the mission plan with a powerful M&S tool to rehearse and analyze instrumentation tracking radar measurement plan for live flight test at DSTC(Defense Systems Test Center).

  • This paper studies on the tracking phenamena by the IEC recommended method with various polymeric insulating materials which are used in industrial fields. Under the same experimental condition, according to the materials it is observed that there are the type of tracking breakdown and the type of tracking erosion. In the tracking breakdown type materials, the tracking breakdown is occurred at a small number of drops increasing of test voltage and solution density. In the tracking erosion type materials, the erosion depth is saturated or proportioned as increasing of test voltage and solution density.

  • This study describes the results of aging characteristics of polymer insulators through the tracking wheel test. In order to evaluate the reliability of polymer insulators, 4 polymer insulators which used in the field were selected. Electrical tests such as power frequency voltage test, steep-front impulse voltage test were performed after tracking wheel test. Chemical structure and contact angle were measured for investigating an aging characteristics. Although some changes have occurred on the surface of insulator, there are no critical changes between new and tracking wheel tested insulator.

  • Recently polymer insulators are being used for outdoor high voltage applications. Polymer insulators for transmission line have significant advantages over porcelain and glass insulators, especially for ultra-high voltage transmission lines. Their advantages are light weight, vandalism resistance and hydrophobicity. Polymer insulators are a relatively new technology, but their expected life is still unknown. Therefore these estimating technique are very important. Their life time is related to weathering and operating condition. Multi-aging test is requested because aging factor is occurred by multi-aging than unique aging. The aging test about polymer insulators have mainly carried out by IEC 61109. This paper presents multi-stress chamber experiments and tracking wheel test to examine the tracking and erosion performance of polymer insulator for transmission. Multi-stress testing is able to demonstrate deficiencies of polymer insulator materials and designs, including the nature of interfaces in insulation design. We have investigated IEC 61109 Annex C (5000h aging test) and CEA tracking wheel test as test methods of artificial accelerated aging. The aging degree of polymer insulator is estimated by leakage current, measurement of hydrophobicity degree, damage conditions of insulator surface, withstand voltage test etc.

  • This study proposes a human body orientation tracking system by inertial and earth magnetic sensors. These sensors were fused by indirect Kalman filter. The proposed tracking system was configured and the filter was implemented. The tracking performance was evaluated with static and dynamic tests. In static test, the sensor was fixed on the floor while its static characteristics was analyzed. In dynamic test, the sensor was held and moved manually for 30 seconds. The dynamic test included x, y, z axis rotations, and elbow flection/extension motions that mimic drinking. For these dynamic motions, the tracking angle error was under $4.1^{\circ}$ on average. The proposed tracking method is expected to be useful for various human body motion analysis.

  • Manual tracking is an experimental paradigm that can be used to study information processing in continuous movements involving accurate, ongoing control of motor performance. The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of knee tracking training, using the paretic side, on gait in stroke patients. Nine patients with hemiplegia participated in the study. The timed 10 m gait speed test and tracking test were administrated. The tracking test was composed with ranges of $-20^{\circ}$ to $20^{\circ}$ and $0^{\circ}$ to $60^{\circ}$. The tracking training consisted of five times every week for 4 weeks. The data were analyzed by non-parametric paired sign test of Wilcoxon. The flexion/extension error of the tracking test was significantly reduced on the paretic side, while the nonparetic side was not statistically significant. The transfer of the skill to the functional activity was shown in the significant improvement at timed 10 m gait speed test. This study shows that individuals with chronic who have impaired knee movement can be trained to improve their knee control through intensive practice at a knee movement tracking task and that the skill learned from such training is transfered to a more functional gait speed.

  • Tracking is an experimental paradigm that can be used to study information processing in continuous movements involving accurate, ongoing control of motor performance. The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of knee tracking performance. Six patients with hemiplegia and six age-matched controls participated in the study. The tracking test was administrated. It was composed with regular ranges of $0^{\circ}C$ to $40^{\circ}C$ and randomized range .2 to .4 Hz. Using the Mann-Whitney U test, a comparison was made between subjects who had suffered from stroke and subjects who were well coordinated. The Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed Ranks Test was used to compare and analyze the paretic and nonparetic sides of the stroke patients. The results of study were as follows: accuracy index of the tracking test was significantly higher on the control side than paretic and nonparetic sides. Accuracy index scores were significantly higher for nonparetic sides with stroke compared with paretic sides with stroke. This study shows tracking is impaired in paretic and nonparetic knee of subjects with stroke.
