Az/El 마운트에 의한 선박용 DBS 수신추적안테나 장치에 관한 연구 (A Study on the DBS Receive Tracking Antenna Apparatus on a Ship by the Az/El Mount)

  • 직접위성방송(DBS)은 해상에까지 광범위한 방송서비스를 제공할 수 있는 매우 유용한 매체이다. 그러나 해상에서의 DBS 수신장치는 선박의 운항이나 동요의 상태에 관계없이 안테나가 위성을 계속 추적해야 하는 복잡한 제어장치를 필요로 한다. 본 연구는 한반도 연 근해를 항해하는 선박에서 Koreasat의 DBS를 수신할 수 있는 장치의 개발이 목표였으며, 특히 소형선박에 쉽게 탑재하고 사용할 수 있도록 다른 항법장비와 연계됨이 없이 장치의 독립적인 운용형태로 설계하였고 소형, 경량, 저가격화에 중점을 두었다. 그러므로 한반도 연·근해에서 koreasat의 탐색과 추적조건을 분석하고 이에 적합한 Az/El 2축 마운트를 설계하여 제작하였으며, 스텝트랙(step track) 방식에 의한 추적과 각속도 센서를 이용한 마운트의 동요보정 기능을 연구하였다. 실험을 위하여 장치를 탑재할 수 있는 선박운동 시뮬레이터를 제작하여 목표치의 동요를 구현하고, 추적과 동요보정에 따른 수신상태를 측정, 분석하면서 실험적으로 최적의 알고리즘을 구현하였다.

한국 e-CALLISTO 관측소 자동 관측 시스템 개발 (DEVELOPMENT OF AN AUTOMATIC OBSERVATION SYSTEM FOR KOREAN e-CALLISTO STATION)

  • The e-CALLISTO is a network of CALLISTO (Compact Astronomical Low-frequency, Low-cost Instrument for Spectroscopy in Transportable Observatories) spectrometers which detect solar radio bursts 24 hours a day in frequency range 45-870 MHz. The number of channels per spectrum is 200 and the time resolution of whole spectrum is 0.25 second. The Korean e-CALLISTO station was developed by Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) collaborating with Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) since 2007. In this paper, we report replacement of the tracking mount and development of the control program using Visual C++/MFC. The program can make the tracking mount track the Sun and schedule CALLISTO to start and to finish its observation automatically using the Solar Position Algorithm (SPA). Daily tracking errors (RMSE) are 0.0028 degree in azimuthal axis and 0.0019 degree in elevational axis between 2014 January and 2015 July. We expect that the program can save time and labor to make the observations of solar activity for space weather monitoring, and improve CALLISTO data quality due to the stable and precise tracking methods.

  • Korea Astronomy Observatory(KAO) is working to retrofit its 1m robotic telescope in collaboration with a company (ACE, Astronomical Consultants & Equipment). The telescope system is being totally refurbished to make a fully automatic telescope which can operate in both interactive and fully autonomous robotic modes. Progress has been made in design and manufacturing of the telescope mount, mechanics, and optical performance system tests are being made for re-configured primary and secondary mirrors. The optical system is designed to collect 80% incident light within 0.5 arcsec with f/7.5 Ritchey-Chretien design. The telescope mount is an equatorial fork with a friction drive system. The design allows fully programmable tracking speeds with typical range of 15 arcsec/sec with accuracy of $\pm5$ arcsec/hour. The mount system has integral pointing model software to correct for refraction, and all mechanical errors and misalignments. The pointing model will permit positioning to better than 30 arcsec RMS within $75^{\circ}$ from zenith and 45 arcsec RMS elsewhere on the sky. The software is designed for interactive, remote and robotic modes of operation. In interactive and remote mode the user can manually enter coordinates or retrieve them from a computer file. In robotic mode the telescope controller downloads the coordinates in the order determined by the scheduler. The telescope will be equipped with a CCD camera and will be accessible via the internet.

  • 4 차 산업혁명 시대로 접어들면서 증강현실은 사회 전반에 걸쳐 무한한 가능성을 보여주고 있다. 하지만 현재의 헤드-마운트 디스플레이, 핸드-헬드 디스플레이 방식의 증강현실은 착용의 번거로움, 멀미 등의 여러 문제점이 있고 이에 따라 프로젝터 기반의 증강현실 기술인 공간증강현실이 각광받고 있다. 공간증강현실은 증강현실의 실재감을 높이고 사용자의 몰입을 유도하기 위해 가상 영상을 투영할 움직이는 물체에 대한 정밀한 추적이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서 개발한 적외선 센서 기반의 정밀 추적 알고리즘은 평균 오차율 1.5% 이내의 매우 견고한 추적 성능을 통해 기술적으로는 임의의 물체에 대한 추적과 같은 진보된 증강현실 기술을 향한 길을 열었고, 사회적으로는 비전문가도 사용하기 쉬운 추적 알고리즘을 통해 디자이너, 학생, 어린이들이 쉽게 자신만의 증강현실 콘텐츠를 제작, 즐길 수 있게 하였다.

  • The technological advancement in computer vision has made system like grab-and-go grocery a reality. Now all the shoppers have to do now is to walk in grab the items and go out without having to wait in the long queues. This paper presents an intelligent retail environment system that is capable of monitoring and tracking customer's activity during shopping based on their interaction with the shelf. It aims to develop a system that is low cost, easy to mount and exhibit adequate performance in real environment.

Satellite Laser Ranging System at Geochang Station

  • Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) has been developing the space optical and laser tracking (SOLT) system for space geodesy, space situational awareness, and Korean space missions. The SOLT system comprises satellite laser ranging (SLR), adaptive optics (AO), and debris laser tracking (DLT) systems, which share numerous subsystems, such as an optical telescope and tracking mount. It is designed to be capable of laser ranging up to geosynchronous Earth orbit satellites with a laser retro-reflector array, space objects imaging brighter than magnitude 10, and laser tracking low Earth orbit space debris of uncooperative targets. For the realization of multiple functions in a novel configuration, the SOLT system employs a switching mirror that is installed inside the telescope pedestal and feeds the beam path to each system. The SLR and AO systems have already been established at the Geochang station, whereas the DLT system is currently under development and the AO system is being prepared for testing. In this study, the design and development of the SOLT system are addressed and the SLR data quality is evaluated compared to the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) tracking stations in terms of single-shot ranging precision. The analysis results indicate that the SLR system has a good ranging performance, to a few millimeters precision. Therefore, it is expected that the SLR system will not only play an important role as a member of the ILRS tracking network, but also contribute to future Korean space missions.

착용형 시선 추적 장치의 스포츠 분야 적용을 위한 적외선 조명 변화 최소화에 관한 연구 (A Study on an Infrared Illumination Stabilization Method in a Head Mounted Eye Tracking System for Sport Applications)

  • In this paper, a simple optical method that uses an infrared(IR) cut filter is proposed to minimize variation of eye image by external infrared(IR) sources in a video based head mounted eye tracking system that is used in the field of sports. For this, the IR cut filter is attached to a head mount of the eye tracking system, and the camera with an IR LED is located between the IR cut filter and eye. In this structure, external IR is blocked by the IR cut filter, and the IR intensity on the eye can be controlled by the IR LED. Therefore, the illumination condition of the camera to capture the eye can be stable without being affected by external IR illuminations. To verify the proposed idea, variation of the eye image and intensity of the IR with/without the IR cut filter is measured under various illumination conditions. The measured data show that the IR cut filter method can block external IR effectively, and complex pupil detection algorithms can be replaced by a simple binarized method.

무인반송 차량시스템의 정밀 추적제어 (Precise Tracking control of Automated Guided Vehicle System)

  • This paper proposed a fuzzy logic cross coupled controller which can enhance the path tracking performance of optically guided AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle). The AGV follows the guide path, it cannot be avoid the deviation from the path due to the inevitable error and the deviation must be corrected. Optically guided AGV used in industrial area is controlled by On-Off controller generally, the experimental AGV has three optical sensors in front body. In this structure, we could not know the leaving distance accurately and steering angle from the guided line, so AGV could not be controlled properly with conventional controller in the case of increasing or decreasing velocity. If we mount additional sensors the AGV, we could know the leaving distance and steering angle from the guided line and proper error compensating methode can be applied. But because cost of sensors are high, the cost of total system is increasing. So, in this paper, to improve the tracking performance of AGV which has the minimum number of sensors and fuzzy logic cross coupled controller is proposed. Some simulations and experimental results are presented to illustrate the performance of the proposed controller.

  • 인공우주물체의 추적 및 관측을 위해 LX-200 12인치 망원경시스템을 도입하여 시스템의 구동부(모터, 모터드라이버, 모션컨트롤러)를 응답특성이 빠르고 능동제어가 가능한 것으로 개선하였다. 또한, PC를 이용하여 대상물의 실시간 궤적정보를 계산하여 모터 드라이버 내의 PID 제어기에 신호를 제공하였고, 명령신호 제어주기도 20ms까지 줄였다. 그 결과, 가대의 구동속도는 $18^{circ}/sec$로 향상되고 상용시스템보다 응답속도가 빠르며 대상물의 이미지 관측시 flipping 현상을 최소화하는 시스템을 개발하였다.

Development of electric vehicle maintenance education ability using digital twin technology and VR

  • In this paper, the maintenance training manual of EV vehicle was produced by utilizing digital twin technology and various sensors such as IR-based light house tracking and head tracker. In addition, through digital twin technology and VR to provide high immersiveness to users, sensory content creation technology was secured through animation and effect realization suitable for EV vehicle maintenance situation. EV vehicle maintenance training manual is 3D engine programming and real-time creation of 3D objects and minimization of screen obstacles and selection of specific menus in virtual space in the form of training simulation. In addition, automatic output from the Head Mount Display (HUD), EV vehicle maintenance and inspection, etc., user can easily operate content was produced. This technology development can enhance immersion to users through implementation of detailed scenarios for maintenance / inspection of EV vehicles" and 3D parts display by procedure, realization of animations and effects for maintenance situations. Through this study, familiarity with improving the quality of education and safety accidents and correct maintenance process and the experienced person was very helpful in learning how to use equipment naturally and how to maintain EV vehicles.
