Purpose: Some of the most representative approaches are to apply next generation technologies to save energy consumption, fully automated control system to appropriately maintain environmental conditions, and autonomous assistance system to reduce labor load and ensure operator's safety. Nevertheless, improvement of upcoming method for soil cultured greenhouse has not been sufficiently achieved. Geometrical complexity of ground in protected crop cultivation might be one of the most dominant factors in design of autonomous vehicle. While there is a practical solution fairly enough to promise an accurate travelling, such as autonomous sprayer guided by rail or induction coil, for various reasons including the limitation of producer's budget, the previously developed sprayer has not been widely distributed to market. Methods: In this study, we developed an autonomous sprayer considering travelling performance on geometrical complexity of ground in soil cultured greenhouse. To maintain a stable travelling and to acquire a real time feedback, common wire with 80 mm thick and body frame and sprayer boom. To evaluate performance of the prototype, tracking performance, climbing performance and spraying boom's uniform leveling performance were individually evaluated by corresponding experimental tests. Results: The autonomous guidance system was proved to be sufficiently suitable for accurate linear traveling with RMS as lower than approximately 10 cm from designated path. Also the prototype could climb $10^{\circ}$ of ground's slope angle with 40 kg of water weight. Uniform leveling of spraying boom was successfully performed within $0.5^{\circ}$ of sprayer boom's slope. Conclusions: Considering more complex pathways and coarse ground conditions, evaluations and improvements of the prototype should be performed for promising reliability to commercialization.

This paper designs and implements a smart care system for the senior citizen who lives alone. Recently, as the level of living has increased due to the rapid improvement of medicine, living standard and environment, the proportion of the elderly population is increasing. In addition, the proportion of the elderly living alone, which is increasing with the aging society, suggests that the provision of services such as the elder care system and emergency notification is becoming an important issue. However, since the existing emergency notification technology analyzes fixed CCTV images, it is difficult to monitor in the blind spot of CCTV and to move to a place where the camera is not installed. There is a problem that it can not be performed. Therefore, in this paper, we design and develop a smart care system that utilizes robot and object tracking technology that can move in real time to overcome these shortcomings. This enables real-time monitoring regardless of the location, and prompts for assistance in case of an emergency, so that it can provide convenience to cares and assistants.

A low cost gait analysis system, which can measure stride length, walking speed, and ground reaction force, is proposed. A gait analysis system is used for medical evaluation of patients and rehabilitation assistance. Low cost cameras are attached to a shoe and movement of a shoe is estimated using infrared LED landmarks. Ground reaction force is measured from pressure sensors, which are installed inside a shoe. Through experiments, it is shown that the proposed system can be used to obtain stride length, walking speed, and ground reaction force.
This paper addresses a throttle/brake control law for stop and go cruise control systems which make the vehicle remain at a safe distance from a preceding vehicle according to the driver's preference, automatically slow down and come to a full stop behind a preceding vehicle. The uncertainties of vehicle model have been considered in the design of the control law. The effect of throttle/brake control has been investigated via simulations. The simulations were performed using a complete nonlinear vehicle model. The results indicate that the proposed throttle/brake control law can provide the stop and go cruise control system with a good distance tracking performance.
A study on photovoltaic system has a lot of problems. Such as repetition experiment in the same condition, development of MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) algorithm, development of islanding detection algorithm and so forth. The reason Is that solar cell output characteristics are varied by insolarion and surface temperature of solar cell. Therefore, the assistance equipment is required which emulates the solar cell characteristics. In this paper, propose the new modeling of solar cell and verify this modeling using MATLAB simulation. And experiment virtual implement of solar cell system using this modeling.
To ensure the safety of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) or autonomous vehicles, it is important to recognize the vehicle position, and specifically, the increased accuracy of the lateral position of the vehicle is required. In recent years, the quality of GPS signals has improved a lot and the price has decreased significantly, but extreme urban environments such as tunnels still pose a critical challenge. In this study, we proposed stable and precise lane recognition and tracking methods to solve these two issues via fusion of AVM images and vehicle sensor data using an extended Kalman filter. In addition, the vehicle's lateral position recognition and the abnormal state of RTK GPS were determined using this approach. The proposed method was validated via actual vehicle experiments in urban areas reporting multipath and signal disconnections.
This paper presents a method for detecting faults in data obtained from the Automatic Identification System (AIS) of surface vessels. The data include latitude, longitude, Speed Over Ground (SOG), and Course Over Ground (COG). We derive two methods that utilize two models: a constant state model and a derivative augmented model. The constant state model incorporates noise variables to account for state changes, while the derivative augmented model employs explicit variables such as first or second derivatives, to model dynamic changes in state. Generally, the derivative augmented model detects faults more promptly than the constant state model, although it is vulnerable to potentially overlooking faults. The effectiveness of this method is validated using AIS data collected at a harbor. The results demonstrate that the proposed approach can automatically detect faults in AIS data, thus offering partial assistance for enhancing navigation safety.

Multi-object tracking has been studied for a long time under computer vision and plays a critical role in applications such as autonomous driving and driving assistance. Multi-object tracking techniques generally consist of a detector that detects objects and a tracker that tracks the detected objects. Various publicly available datasets allow us to train a detector model without much effort. However, there are relatively few publicly available datasets for training a tracker model, and configuring own tracker datasets takes a long time compared to configuring detector datasets. Hence, the detector is often developed separately with a tracker module. However, the separated tracker should be adjusted whenever the former detector model is changed. This study proposes a system that can train a model that performs detection and tracking simultaneously using only the detector training datasets. In particular, a Siam network with augmentation is used to compose the detector and tracker. Experiments are conducted on public datasets to verify that the proposed algorithm can formulate a real-time multi-object tracker comparable to the state-of-the-art tracker models.

The cause of the majority of vehicle accidents is a safety issue due to the driver's inattention, such as drowsy driving. A forward collision warning system (FCWS) can significantly reduce the number and severity of accidents by detecting the risk of collision with vehicles in front and providing an advanced warning signal to the driver. This paper describes a low power embedded system based FCWS for safety. The algorithm computes time to collision (TTC) through detection, tracking, distance calculation for the vehicle ahead and current vehicle speed information with a single camera. Additionally, in order to operate in real time even in a low-performance embedded system, an optimization technique in the program with high and low levels will be introduced. The system has been tested through the driving video of the vehicle in the embedded system. As a result of using the optimization technique, the execution time was about 170 times faster than that when using the previous non-optimized process.
