Objectives : We applied the term weighting method used in the field of data search to quantify relevancy between symptoms and medicinal herbs, and, based on this, we aim to introduce a method of visualizing the characteristics of medicinal herbs. Methods : We proposed HF-IFF, an adaptation of TF-IDF, which is a term weighting measurement method adapted in the field of data search. Using this method, we deduced relevancy between symptoms and medicinal herbs In Cheongkangeuigam that was published in 1984 by organizing the medical theory of Cheongkang, Kim Younghoon, and visualized this as a graph in order to compare the characteristics of medicinal herbs used for different symptoms. Results : HF-IFF is the product of HF and IFF, where HF is the frequency of the relevant medicinal herb for a set of symptoms, and IFF is the inverse of the number of formulations (FF) containing that herb. A total of 251 types of medicinal herb are used in Cheongkangeuigam, and 1538 formulations are classified according to 67 types of symptom. The overall mean for HF-IFF was 0.491, with a maximum of 4.566 and a minimum of 0.013. Conclusions : In spite of several limitations, we were able to use HF-IFF to measure relevancy between symptoms and medicinal herbs, with formulations as an intermediate. We were able to use the quantified results to visually express the characteristics of the herbs used for symptoms by bubble chart and word-cloud from HF-IFF.

In this paper, we introduce an optimization method to improve pursuit performance of a pursuer in a pursuit-evasion game (PEG). Pursuers build a probability map and employ a hybrid pursuit policy which combines the merits of local-max and global-max pursuit policies to search and capture evaders as soon as possible in a 2-dimensional space. We propose an episodic parameter optimization (EPO) algorithm to learn good values for the weighting parameters of a hybrid pursuit policy. The EPO algorithm is performed while many episodes of the PEG are run repeatedly and the reward of each episode is accumulated using reinforcement learning, and the candidate weighting parameter is selected in a way that maximizes the total averaged reward by using the golden section search method. We found the best pursuit policy in various situations which are the different number of evaders and the different size of spaces and analyzed results.
Since the preexisting evaluation methods of landslide susceptibility take somehow long time to determine the slope stability based on the field survey and laboratory analysis, there are several problems to acquire immediate evaluation results in the field. In order to overcome the previously mentioned problems and incorrect evaluation results induced by some subjective evaluation criteria and methods, this study tried to develop a method of landslide susceptibility by a quantitative and objective evaluation approach based on the field survey. Therefore, this study developed an evaluation chart for landslide susceptibility on natural terrain using the AHP analysis method to predict landslide hazards on the field sites. The AHP analysis was performed by a questionnaire to several specialists who understands mechanism and influential factors of landslide. Based on the questionnaire, weighting values of criteria and alternatives to influence landslide triggering were determined by the AHP analysis. According to the scoring results of the analysed weighting values, slope angle is the most significant factor. Permeability, water contents, porosity, lithology, and elevation have the significance to the landslide susceptibility in a descending order. Based on the assigned scores of each criterion and alternatives of the criteria, an evaluation chart for landslide susceptibility was suggested. The evaluation chart makes it possible for a geologist to evaluate landslide susceptibility with a total score summed up each alternative score.

Up to the present time, many methods to estimate emissions from a particular diesel engines have wholly depended on the quantity of diesel fuel consumed. Then, the recommended emission factors were normalized by fuel consumption, and further total activity was estimated by the total fuel consumed. One of main purposes in the study is newly to develop emission factors for the railroad diesel rolling stock (RDRS) and to estimate a total amount of major gaseous pollutants from the RDRS in Korea. Prior to develop a Korean mode emission factor. the emission factor from the USEPA was simply applied for comparative studies. When applying the USEPA emission factors, total exhaust emissions from the RDRS in Korea were estimated by 28,117tons of NOx, 2,832.3tons of CO, and 1,237.5tons of HC, etc in 2001. In this study, a emission factor for the RDRS, so called the KoRail mode (the Korean Railroad mode) has been developed on the basis of analyzing the driving pattern of the Gyeongbu-Line especially for the line-haul mode. Explicitly to make the site specific emission factors, many uncertainty problems concerning weighting factors for each power mode, limited emission test, incomplete data for RDRS, and other important input parameters were extensively examined. Total exhaust emissions by KoRail mode in Korea were estimated by 10,960tons of NOx, and 4,622tons of CO, and so on in the year of 2001. The emissions estimated by the USEPA mode were 2.6 times higher for NOx, and 1.6 times lower for CO than those by the KoRail mode. As a conclusion, based on the emission calculated from both the USEPA mode and the KoRail mode, the RDRS is considered as one of the significant mobile sources for major gaseous pollutants and thus management plans an(1 control strategies for the RDRS must be established to improve air quality near future in Korea.
The purposes of this studies were to investigate the effect of dietry Se levels and alcohol administration on the lipid hyperoxidation and the lipid metabolism in the rat. Seventy two male rats of Sprague-Dawley Strain weighting about 58~629 were divided into 12groups. The dietary Se levels were 10, 0.4 and Omg, and the dietary a-tocopherol levels were 150 and 0mg per kg diet, respectively. Alcohol-administrated groups received drinking water solution containing 10% of ethanol from the 3-weeks of experimental periods. The obtained experimental results are summarized as follows. 1. Food intake, body weight gain and food efficiency ratio were significantly lower in H-, L-and alcohol administrated groups(-A) by administrated Se and alcohol in diet. The weight of liver and spleen tended to be greater in H- and alcohol administrated groups. 2. The glutathione values in liver tend to be lower in alcohol or Vit. E administrated groups than nonadministrated groups. Also there were higher in H- and L- than C-groups, but the increasing range decreased due to administrated alcohol. The lipid peroxide values In liver were significantly higher in alcohol groups, and L- and tocopherol groups were higher values. Specially the increasing of lipid peroxide values were significantly effected by alcohol in low Se and Vit. E groups. 3. The contents of total glyceride in plasma were higher in alcohol groups, there were significantly higher values in alcohol administrated groups under low Se and Vit. E groups. The contents of total cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol In plasma were significantly higher in alcohol groups. 4. The contents of total lipid in liver were higher alcohol groups, and slightly higher values in low Se groups(L-groups) than other groups, also higher values in low Vit. E groups. Those of total glyceride in liver were significantly higher in alcohol groups, appeared highest values when alcohol was administrated in low Se and Vit. E groups. The increasing of total glyceride content was significantly effected by alcohol in low Se groups than that in C-groups.
This paper presents a new economic load dispatch considering atmospheric emissions such as NOx and SO$_2$caused by the operation of fossil-fueled thermal generation in power systems. The proposed method is described for scheduling their output of thermal power units so as to comply with total emission constraint, area emission constraint and the both of those constraints. Also, by using a trade-off curve, representing all dispatch alternatives and conflict between the emission and the fuel cost, the sensitivity analysis of the emission and the fuel cost is applied to this algorithm. By the way, this proposed method is analyzed how dispatch changes as a function of the total environmental cost, and as a function of the relative weighting of individual environmental insults, e.g, NOx and SO$_2$. By applying the proposed method to the system, the usefulness of this method is verified.

To increase accurateness and reliability of the evaluation of power tool vibration transmitted to an operator, it is necessary to measure the grip and feed forces during the measurement of hand-transmitted vibration. In the study a system was invented to measure the vibration and the grip and/or feed force, which consists of a measurement handle and a PC with a data acquisition system and the corresponding software. Strain gauges and an accelerometer were mounted on the handle surface for the simultaneous measurement of the forces and the vibration. The program in the system makes it possible to monitor the grip and feed force during the tool operation so that the operator keeps the applying forces within the pre-determined range. Investigating the vibration total values, frequency-weighted root-mean-square accelerations at the handle, obtained in repetition for each power tool with control of the grip and feed force showed more consistency than those measured without force control. By using the system the experimenter can reduce random error of the measured vibration.
The purpose of this study was to compare the efficiency of visual perception and impulse according to the three types of Taekwondo players to be able to supply an efficient training method, for this a total of 12 representative Taekwondo players of the Korean National team, 4 poomsae players, 4 kyokpa players and 4 kyorugi players weighting between 68 to 74 kg, and the results from the motion analysis system, eye tracker and Electronic hogu are as follows. For the visual perceptual function, the total body reaction time was slowest for the kyokpa group, and for the visible reaction and vision fixation time was longest of the poomsae group, while the performance movement was fastest for the kyorugi group. As for description of the two kicking motions dollyo chagi and dolgae chagi the longer visual fixation helps the accuracy of the kick. In conclusion, as there was a difference between the groups, this information could help to train the visual perception of players according to what event they are participating in.
This study was performed to investigate the effect of Lycii fructus beer on serum lipid profiles and antioxidant activity in rat Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats weighting about 190g were divided into the following 5 groups ; distillate water (Control), 5% ethanol in distillate water (Ethanol), commercial beer (CB), Lycii fructus beer (LFB) and 5% alcohol red wine diluted with distillate water (RW). Body weight, total food intake, FER and percent organ (liver, kidney) weight per body weight were not significantly changed by Lycii fructus beer drinking. After 6 weeks, serum total cholesterol, triglyceride and HDL cholesterol level were not significantly different. But, Lycii fructus beer intake tended to decrease serum triglyceride level and atherogenic index. Also, GOT and GPT levels were expressed lower than Ethanol group. There was not significantly different in hepatic glutatiione (GSH) content and glutathione-S-transferase (GST) activities among 5 groups. Lipid peroxidation in the hepatic was decreased by Lycii fructus beer intake. The results demonstrated that Lycii fructus beer was potential and effective antioxidant that can protect the decrease associated with alcohol.

The main purpose of this study was to develop a new method for evaluation of stream naturalness in order to appraise and prescribe for streams effectively in the process of ecological restoration of stream corridors. The results are as follows : 1) For this purpose six factors were selected on considering the spatial axes of stream corridor variation and total 20 descriptors about the physical structure were selected. 2) The calculation of S.N.I. for each segment was consisted of three steps, such as calculation of S.N.I.s of the individual descriptors, averaging all the descriptors's for each factor, and finally averaging the factors's for the Total S.N.I. 3) The evaluation unit was decided to be 100m size. The score system ranging 1~5 was adopted. Weighting parameters of factors were unified with each other. 4) A GIS model was adopted for classification, calculation, querying, analysing, and presenting S.N.I. information. And the format of S.N.I. maps including statistical graphs and other spatial watershed information was designed for the GIS odel. The naturalness of stream corridor was was investigated by the naturalness of habitat, and assessed by the descriptors focused on physical structure, therefore the S.N.I. can manifest prescriptions for restoration of the stream corridor. On the other hand because some evaluation factors such as water quality, water volume, fauna, flora, functions of stream exosystem has been excluded, S.N.I. could have some limits on representing the full aspects of stream naturalness. This evaluation method is hypothetical one, so it would be investigated through iterative applicatons.
