The adsorption of nitrogen (77K) and carbon dioxide(273K) was performed on a series of activated carbon fiber. Theadsorption iotherm of nitrogen was typical type 1 and that of carbon dioxide was convex. As the specific surface area increases, there are linear increases in BET constant C mean pore diameter, the width of pore size distribution, wide micropore volume, total micropore volume, total pore volume and external surface area, however, narrow micropore volume was nealy constant . The total micorpore volume fraction in total pore volume is above 97%.
Tectona grandis (teak) is one of the most important timber species worldwide and India is one of the major teak growing countries. Though some volume equations were developed for teak in India but the models developed were neither evaluated using robust statistical criteria nor validated. Hence, the objective of this study was to develop statistically tested appropriate volume equation to predict total wood volume (over- and under-bark) for teak trees in Gujarat. A total of 41 trees with age varying from 15 to 33 years and diameter at breast height (dbh) from 7.3 to 30.8 cm were felled for the purpose. Linear and non-linear equations were used to model the relationship of the total wood volume with respect to dbh and total height. The equations tested mostly fitted well to the data. Model evaluation and validation indicated that models should be calibrated with local data for greater accuracy in the prediction.

Background Closed-suction drains are widely used in expander-based breast reconstruction. These drains are typically removed using a volume-based criterion. The drainage volume affects the hospital stay length and the recovery time. However, few studies have analyzed the factors that influence drainage volume after expander-based breast reconstruction. Methods We retrospectively analyzed data regarding daily drainage from patients who underwent expander-based breast reconstruction between April 2014 and January 2018 (159 patients, 176 expanders). Patient and operative factors were analyzed regarding their influence on total drainage volume and drain placement duration using univariate and multivariate analyses and analysis of variance. Results The mean total drainage volume was 1,210.77±611.44 mL. Univariate analysis showed correlations between total drainage volume and age (B=19.825, P<0.001), body weight (B=17.758, P<0.001), body mass index (B=51.817, P<0.001), and specimen weight (B=1.590, P<0.001). Diabetes history (P<0.001), expander type (P<0.001), and the surgical instrument used (P<0.001) also strongly influenced total drainage. The acellular dermal matrix type used did not affect total drainage (P=0.626). In the multivariate analysis, age (B=11.907, P=0.004), specimen weight (B=0.927, P<0.001), and expander type (B=593.728, P<0.001) were significant predictors of total drainage. Conclusions Our findings suggest that the total drainage and the duration of drain placement needed after expander-based breast reconstruction can be predicted using preoperative and intraoperative data. Patient age, specimen weight, and expander type are important predictors of drainage volume. Older patients, heavier specimens, and use of the Mentor rather than the Allergan expander corresponded to a greater total drainage volume and a longer duration of drain placement.
The volume transport and turnover time of the Deukryang Bay. located at the southern area of Korea, were calculated based on the current meter(RCM-7,ACM 16M) data observed at the three gateways of the tegrating observed data and then averaging on time. dangdo and Kogumdo. The total water volume transports through three entrances of the bay in May and October were $3.9{\times}10-2Sv, 3.4{\times}10^{-2}Sv(1Sv=10^6m^3s^{-1}$) and turnover time were 0.97day, 1.12day, respectively. Semidiurnal tides were predominant (70~85%). The water volume transports by residual currents were 2~4% of total water volume transports . The average fraction of fresh water calculated by tidal prism method using salinity difference between inflow current and outflow current through three entrances In Deukryang Bay was about 0.06% of total volume and the flushing time of fresh water was estimated as 0.97day.
Allometry, basal area equations, and volume equations were developed with various tree measurement variables for the major species, Quercus mongolica and Quercus variabilis, in Korean natural hardwood forests. For allometry models, the relationships between total height-DBH, crown width-DBH, height to the widest portion of the crown-total height, and height to base of crown-total height were investigated. Multiple regression methods were used to relate annual basal area growth to tree variables of initial size (DBH, total height, crown width) and relative size (relative diameter, relative height) as well as competition measures (competition index, crown class, exposed crown area, percent exposed crown area, live crown ratio). For tree volume equations, the combined-variable and Schumacher models were fitted with DBH, total height and crown width for both species.
This study was performed to quantitatively assess the normal lung volume and density according to the position by multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) in dogs. Helical CT of the thorax was performed on 4 different positions with dorsal, left lateral, right lateral and ventral recumbency in 6 Pekingese and 6 Maltese dogs. During CT scanning, dogs were kept hyperventilated. Through the 3-dimensional reconstruction of CT images, the lung parameters were measured as the volume and density of the left, right including accessory lobe, and total lung. 3D images represented the different lung shape between Pekingese and Maltese dogs. Their difference of total lung volume and total lung density was not significant on the each position in both breeds. Right lung volume was significantly higher than left. The difference of left and right volume was $66.91{\pm}25.1$ ml. Linear relationship was shown between body weight and lung volume of ventral recumbency position. The dependent lung had higher density and lower volume than nondependent lung in both breed dogs. The volume of nondependent lung was not changed compared with the volume on ventral or dorsal recumbency. The total lung volume measured with MDCT is correlated with the lung density, and the lung density is useful to predict the normal total lung volume.

Theoretical total nitrogen removal efficiency and reactor volume ratio in oxic-anoxic-oxic system can be found by influent water quality in this study. The influent water quality items for calculation were ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, alkalinity, and COD which can affect nitrification and denitrification reaction. Total nitrogen removal efficiency depends on influent allocation ratio. The total nitrogen removal follows the equation of 1/(1+b). Optimal reactor volume ratio for maximum TN removal efficiency was expressed by those influent water quality and nitrification/denitrification rate constants. It was possible to expect optimal reactor volume ratio by the calculation with the standard deviation of ${\pm}14.2$.
In order to investigate experimental effects of Yangkyuksanwha-Tang, which is the typical prescription for diseased SOYANGIN, on diabetes rats, the observation and measurement was made on the content of volume of blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, phospholipid, total protein, electrolyte($K^+$, $Na^+$) in serum, by dosing the cooked Y.S.T. to diabetic rats, induced by streptozotocin and following result was obtained. 1. The volume of blood glucose, in the diabetes rats, was decreased significantly, and remarkable decrease of blood glucose was shown in the Y.S.T. (12.5ml/kg) dosed group, after 4weeks of experiment. 2. The volume of total cholesterol of blood serum was decreased notably, especially remarkable reduce of total cholesterol was shown in the Y.S.T. (12.5ml/kg) dosed group after a week. 3. The volume of triglyceride in the blood serum of diabetic rats, induced by the streptozotocin was decreased after 4 weeks, and remarkable decrease was shown in the Y.S.T. (12.5ml/kg) dosed group after 2 weeks of experiment. 4. The volume of the phospholipid in the diabetes rats, was decreased significantly in the Y.S.T. (12.5ml/kg) dosed group after 2 weeks of experiment. 5. The volume of total protein of diabetes rats, was increased in all group, and the remarkable increase was shown in the Y.S.T. (12.5ml/kg) dosed group after 4 weeks. 6. The volume of the sodium in the Y.S.T. (12.5ml/kg) dosed group, was notable in each Y.S.T. dosed group (1.25ml/kg, 12.5ml/kg) after a week experiment. According to above results, It is expected that Y.S.T. applied to SOYANGIN, can be used for medical treatment of diabetes with effect. But because the effect can be somewhat different depending upon dosage, appropriate operation on clinic is needed, for the best curing effect.

The purpose of this study is to test applicability of cut-through roundabouts at a congested intersection and to provide the traffic volume ranges for theirs application. Various test scenarios were developed according to variation of total traffic volume, left-turn ratio to total traffic volume, and ratio of major road traffic volume to minor road traffic volume. In addition, three intersection types of cut-through roundabout, roundabout, and signalized intersection were compared with respect to delay times for each scenario, resulted from the simulation using VISSIM. In case of the ratio of major road traffic volume to minor road traffic volume, 6:4, the delay times of cut-through roundabout decreased up to 30% of left-turn ratio to total traffic volume for 400vphpl, up to 20% for 500vphpl, up to 10% for 600vphpl. In case of the ratio, 7:3, they are the same as 6:4 for 400vphpl, 500vphpl, and 600vphpl but they decreased up to 30% for 300vphpl and up to 10% for 700vphpl. In case of the ratio, 8:2, they are the same as 7:3 for 400vphpl, 500vphpl, and 700vphpl but they were reduced by 10% to 30% for 300vphpl and 20% for 600vphpl. It is concluded that the smaller left-turn ratio to total traffic volume as well as the ratio of minor road traffic volume to major road traffic volume is, the more effective in reducing delay times the cut-through roundabout is. Cut-through roundabouts can be expected to reduce delay times at a signalized intersections with traffic conditions above-mentioned.
Quantitative strucrure-activity relationships between the toxicity (LD$\_$50/) and molecular properties of amine and nitro compounds were tested. The all 19 compounds showed low correlations below 0.500 to their LD$\_$50/ values. When amine or nitro compounds were taken separately, the correlation between the calculated chemphysico parameters and LD$\_$50/ were also poor (r$^2$=0.4911, 3967 repectively). The overall relationships among the QSAR parameters were investigated. Molecular weight shows a high correlation with total surface area (r$^2$=0.9287); 0.9090 for zero-order connectivity and second-order connectivity : 0.8784 for bioconcentration factor and second-order connectivity. When amine compounds were taken to perform the statistical treatment, the relationships between parameters were as follows: 0.8436 for volume-negentropy; 0.8925 for volume-bioconcentration factor; 0.9929 for zero-order connectivity-Kow; zero-order connectivity-bioconcentration factor; 0.9141 for zero-order connectivity-solubility; 0.9718 for solubility-bioconcentration factor; 0.9894 for solubility-bioconcentration factor and 0.9319 for Kow-bioconcentration factor. On the other hand, nitro compounds showed different relationships as follows: 0.8952 for volume-I/O character; 0.9520 for volume-total surface area: 0.9351 for volume-molecular weight; 0.9351 for volume-MW; 0.9961 for Kow-Koc; 0.8455 for Kow-bioconcentration factor; 0.8879 for Koc-bioconcentration factor; 0.9987 for MW-total surface area respectively.
