This paper have examined the optimum combination of SNCR and SCR by varying SNCR injection temperature and NSR ratio along with SCR space velocity. NOx reduction experiments using a SNCR/SCR combined process have been conducted in simple NO/NH$_3$/O$_2$ gas mixtures. Total gas flow rate was kept constant 4 liter/min throughout the SNCR and SCR reactors, where initial NOx concentration was 500 ppm in the presence of 5% O$_2$. Commercial catalyst, sulfated V$_2$O$\_$5/-WO$_3$/TiO$_2$, was used for SCR NOx reduction. The residence time and space velocity were around 1.67 sec, 2,400 h$\^$-1/ and 6,000 h$\^$-1/ in the SNCR and SCR reactors, respectively. SNCR NOx reduction effectively occurred in a temperature window of 900-950$^{\circ}C$. About 88% NOx reduction was achieved with an optimum temperature of 950$^{\circ}C$ and NSR=1.5. SCR NOx reduction using commercial V$_2$O$\_$5/-WO$_3$-SO$_4$/TiO$_2$ catalyst occurred in a temperature window of 200-450$^{\circ}C$ 80-98% NOxreduction was possible with SV=2400 h$\^$-1/ and a molar ratio of 1.0-2.0. A SNCR/SCR(SV=6000 h$\^$-1/) combined process has shown same NOx reduction compared with a stand-alone SCR(SV=2400 h$\^$-1/) unit process of 98% NOx reduction. The NH$_3$-based chemical could routinely achieve SNCR/SCR combined process total NOx reductions of 98% with less than 5 ppm NH$_3$ slip at NSR ranging from about 1.5 to 2.0, SNCR temperature of 900$^{\circ}C$-950$^{\circ}C$, and SCR space velocity of 6000 h$\^$-1/. Particularly, more than 98% NOx reduction was possible using the combined process under the conditions of T$\_$SNCR/=950$^{\circ}C$, T$\_$SCR/=350$^{\circ}C$, 5% O$_2$, SV=6000 h$\^$-1/ and NH$_3$/NOx=1.5. A catalyst volume was about three times reduced by SNCR/SCR combined process compared with SCR process under the same controlled conditions.

The policy-making and technological development for the supply expansion of eco-friendly automobiles has been continuing, but the internal combustion engines still accounts for about 95%. Also, in order to meet the stricter emission regulations of internal combustion engines based on fossil fuels, the proportion of after-treatments for vehicles and (ocean going) vessels is gradually increasing. This study is a basic study for the post-Euro-VI exhaust response of CNG buses, and it is to investigate the basic characteristics according to Pd substitution transition metal effect, catalyst volume effect and space velocity. A catalysts was prepared and tested using a model gas reactor. The NGOC catalyst with 3Pd exhibited the highest catalytic activity with 22% at $300^{\circ}C$, 48% at $350^{\circ}C$ and about 75% at $500^{\circ}C$. 3Co NGOC containing 3wt% of transition metal was excellent in oxidation ability, and it was small in size of 2nm, and the degree of catalyst dispersion was improved and de-NO/CO conversion was high. The volume of the NGOC-LNT-SCR catalyst system was optimal in the combination of 1.5+0.5+0.5 with a total score of 165, considering $de-CH_4/NOx$ performance and catalyst cost. For SV $14,000h^{-1}$, the $CH_4$ reduction performance was the highest at about 20%, while the SV $56,000h^{-1}$ was the lowest at about 5%. If the space velocity is small, the flow velocity decreases and the time remaining in the catalyst volume become long, so that the harmful gas was reduced.

This paper studies the aerodynamic performance that the vent mixer-new conceptual supersonic mixer-showed with its geometric characteristics. The hole is 2 mm with 2 mm's distance from the wall in case 1 and with no distance in case 2. In case 3 die hole is 1 mm. Case 1 and case 2 showed the same total pressure recovery ratio, of which the case 3 was lower than that. While cases 1-3 had the same reattachment length, the shear layer was thicker in cases 1 and 2 than in case 3. Within the recirculation zone, cases 1 and 2 had lower pressure loss and higher velocity gradient difference than case 3-they enhance mixing between air and fuel. Separation bubble which is developed by the inflow into the recirculation zone has a significant effect on the total pressure recovery ratio in the combustor. Also separation bubble influences pressure distributions and recirculation flows in the recirculation zone. Therefore, inflow rate of air into the recirculation zone mainly affects the performance of vent mixer.

We develop a new high-fidelity multiphysics model to simulate boron chemistry in the porous Chalk River Unidentified Deposit (CRUD) deposits. Heat transfer, capillary flow, solute transport, and chemical reactions are fully coupled. The evaporation of coolant in the deposits is included in governing equations modified by the volume-averaged assumption of wick boiling. The axial offset anomaly (AOA) of the Seabrook nuclear power plant is simulated. The new model reasonably predicts the distributions of temperature, pressure, velocity, volumetric boiling heat density, and chemical concentrations. In the thicker CRUD regions, 60% of the total heat is removed by evaporative heat transfer, causing boron species accumulation. The new model successfully shows the quantitative effect of coolant evaporation on the local distributions of boron. The total amount of boron in the CRUD layer increases by a factor of 1.21 when an evaporation-driven increase of soluble and precipitated boron concentrations is reflected. In addition, the concentrations of B(OH)3 and LiBO2 are estimated according to various conditions such as different CRUD thickness and porosity. At the end of the cycle in the AOA case, the total mass of boron incorporated in CRUD deposits of a reference single fuel rod is estimated to be about 0.5 mg.

A potential-based panel method is formulated for the analysis of a partially cavitating 2-dimensional hydrofoil. The method employs dipoles and sources distributed on the foil surface to represent the lifting and cavity problems, respectively. The kinematic boundry condition on the wetted portion of the foil surface is satisfied by requiring that the total potential vanish in the inner flow region of the foil. The dynamic boundary condition on the cavity surface is satisfied by requiring that the potential vary linearly, i.e., the velocity be constant. Green's theorem then results in a potential-based boundary value problem rather than a usual velocity-based formulation. With the singularities distributed on the exact hydrofoil surface, the pressure distributions are predicted with more improved accuracy than the zero-thickness hydrofoil theory, especially near the leading edge. The theory then predicts the cavity shape and cavitation number for an assumed cavity length. To improve the accuracy, the sources and dipoles on the cavity surface are moved to the newly computed cavity surface, where the boundary conditions are satisfied again. It was found that five iterations are necessary to obtain converged values, while only two iterations are sufficient for engineering purpose.

The purposes of this research are to study on optimal distance between positive and negative electrodes in dust removal chamber. The experiments were performed with electrode-plate gab arranging in order of 3 cm, 2 cm, 1 cm in series while varying influent flow-rate. From the experimental results of dust removal the optimal influent linear velocity was 6 cm/sec and the total mass of attached dust on the surface of electrode-plate was increased as electrode-plate gab is closer. But in case of electrode-plate gab being very close about 1 cm or so, the attached dust on the surface of electrode-plate was shown releasing from electrode-plate due to dust electric-charge changing (reverse ionization). Evantually. optimal distance between positive and negative electrode-plates was about 2 cm and also optimal dust loading rate was about $24mg/min{\cdot}m^2$.
Particle morphology change and different experimental condition analysis during composite fabrication process by traditional ball milling with discrete element method (DEM) simulation were investigated. A simulation of the three dimensional motion of balls in a traditional ball mill for research on the grinding mechanism was carried out by DEM simulation. We studied the motion of the balls, the ball behavior energy and velocity; the forces acting on the balls were calculated using traditional ball milling as simulated by DEM. The effect of the operational variables such as the rotational speed, ball material and size on the flow velocity, collision force and total impact energy were analyzed. The results showed that increased rotation speed with interaction impact energy between balls and balls, balls and pots and walls and balls. The rotation speed increases with an increase of the impact energy. Experiments were conducted to quantify the grinding performance under the same conditions. Furthermore, the results showed that ball motion affects the particle morphology, which changed from irregular type to plate type with increasing rotation speed. The evolution was also found to depend on the impact energy increase of the grinding media. These findings are useful to understand and optimize the particle motion and grinding behavior of traditional ball mills.

This study is to evaluate the effects of the separation wall on the sediment quality and quantity in a combined sewer, by surveying the sewer overflow and sediments during a rainfall. Since the separation wall installed in the combined sewer separates the rainfall and the sewage, the flow rate of the sewage is increased, and the amount of the sediment deposited on the sewer is decreased. One sampling point was the outfall of Daesacheon with a separation wall, and the other was the outfall of Gwaryecheon without a separation wall, in Daejeon metropolitan city. The maximum control of the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) overflow load was more than 38% in the Daesacheon point with the separation wall, during a rainfall of 0.11 mm/hr. The maximum control of the BOD overflow load was 24% in Gwaryecheon without a separation wall, during a rainfall of 1.0 mm/hr. According to the survey results of the sediment in the sewer, the discharged sediment deposited on the sewer in Gwaryecheon point was about 23% to 28% of the total suspended solid during the rainfall. In addition, the average velocity of sewage in the presence of sediment was about 0.30 m/s, and if the separation wall is installed, it was expected to be about 1.01 m/s, that is 3.4 times more than the same conditions, resulting in the reduction of the sediment deposit.

In this study a Fuel bed where surface fire spreads through is made to measure the data such as the flame height, radiation, spread rate and temperature distribution of Fuel bed. As experimental variables species of trees, wind velocities and slop are chosen. Fallen leaves of Quercus Variabilis (Q.V.) and Pinus Densiflora (P.D.) are used as fuel. Wind velocity is controlled by simply designed wind turnnel from 1 to 5 m/s. Slope of fuel bed is changed from $0^{\circ}$ to $30^{\circ}$. For the measurements of temperature distribution and spread rate total 35 of K-type 1.6 mm thermocouples are positioned as a lattice design. Radiant heat flow meters are used besides video camera and thermovision camera.
The election profiles with different flow rates of motile phase were experimentally measured to investigate the effects on HETP in capillary gas chromatography. Based on the correlation coefficient ($r^2$), the first and second moments as well as HETP were determined from the elution cuties, and the parameters used in empirical equations were estimated. The empirical equations were expressed in terms of mobile phase velocity, and the theoretical Golay equation was considered. The samples were d-limonene and perillyl alcohol, potential anticancer agent mainly was contained in the peel of orange. From the experimental results, HETP of the samples were increased with mobile phase velocities. The correlation coefficient of d-limonene was in the range between 0.8265 and 0.8465, while that of perillyl alcohol was between 0.9353 and 0.9374. The total HETP was composed of $H_{g}$, $H_{l}$ and Hc, and Hg had the greatest effect on HETP, but HI showed a negligible effect. In terms of HETP, the optimum velocity of mobile phase was present.
