Si 함량에 따른 Fe-Si 압분코어의 자기적 특성 (Variation of Magnetic Properties of Fe-Si Compressed Cores with Si Content)

  • 연자기 특성이 우수한 것으로 잘 알려진 Fe-6.5 % Si 합금을 분말로 제작하여 성형한 Fe-6.5 % Si 압분코어에서도 좋은 특성을 얻을 수 있는 지를 확인하기 위해 Fe-3, 4.2 그리고 6.8 % Si 압분코어를 각각 제작하여 교류와 직류 자기특성, 미소경도 등을 분석하였다. 실리콘 함량이 증가할수록 와전류손실은 감소하나 이력손실은 증가하여 Fe-6.8 % Si에서 최소손실을 얻을 수 없었다. 또한 실리콘함량이 증가할수록 코어의 전기비저항과 분말입자의 미소경도는 지속적으로 증가하였으며 이 때문에 충진율은 감소하였다. B2와 $DO_3$상이 Fe-6.8 % Si 분말에서만 생성된 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 6.8 % Si보다 낮은 실리콘 함량에서 코어손실이 더 낮은 것을 절연체와 분말입자의 비저항 비율, 미소경도변화에 따른 충진율 저하와 반자장 효과 등으로 설명할 수 있었다.

파보일미(parboiled rice)의 이화학적 특성 1. 추청벼 파보일미의 도정 및 영양특성 (The Effect of Milling on the Nutrients of Raw and Parboiled Rices)

  • The effect of milling on the nutrients of raw and parboiled rice grain samples was investigated. Parboiling treatments of choo chung paddy decreased head rice yields and pressure parboiling proved to be more beneficial in reducing white belly rice. Except PP sample mean length/width ratio of parboiled milled rice kernels(8% milling degree) were more larger than raw milled rice and the extent depended on severity of parboil heat treatment. Parboiling had no effect on the protein content of browm rice(0% milling degree) but increased in 4%, 8% milling degree and in PL40 sample. Parboiled rice had a lower fat and the extent depended on degree of milling. Ash content of parboiled brown rice decreasd compared to raw brown rice and generally decreased according to milling degrees were high. Nevertheless, PP, PT40 and PL40 parboiled milled rice samples(0% milling degree) contained more ash than raw milled rice. Parboiling increased total sugar and reducing sugar and increased according to milling degrees were high. Parboiled rice had a high reducing sugar content than raw rice except for PT sample, and more contained as higher milling degree. Total amino acid content of parboiled brown rice increased compared to raw brown rice except for PL40 sample. Parboiled rice of 4% milling degree had a lower total amino acid content and then 8% milling degree had a higher than raw rice. Ca content of parboiled rice was lower than raw rice and tended to have lower as milling degree were high. Parboiled rice of 0 and 4% milling degree had a lower Fe content degree but higher in 8% milling degree. PP and PT40 samples contained more Fe than any other parboiled rice. Parboiled milled rice contained more thiamin than raw milled rice. Rice of milling degree 6% and PL sample contained most thiamin.

Scientific Analysis of Iron Making By-Products Excavated from Gogi-ri, Namwon, Korea

  • This study analyzes six slags excavated from the iron making site in Gogi-ri, Namwon, Korea to understand the characteristics of the ruins, and to confirm the iron making process performed at the time. The chemical components of the iron making by-products from the Gogi-ri site were analyzed, and the findings indicate total Fe contents between 23.24% and 37.56%, which are lower than the typical total Fe content found in ancient iron making processes. The deoxidation agent contents of the slags ranged from 43.88% to 58.13%, which are higher than the typical deoxidation agent content of ancient iron making processes. The high content suggests smooth separation between iron and slags, and TiO2 detected from the site suggests the use of materials with high titanium content in the iron making in the region. As for the microstructures of the slags, some slags have long pillar-shaped fayalites, while others have pillar-shaped wüstite along with ulvöspinel. Slags from the forging furnace show hammer scales created by both the earlier stages and later stages of forging work. The findings suggest that the iron making site in Gogi-ri, Namwon, Korea used to be an iron making facility where a full range of iron making process was carried out ranging from smelting to forging, and the ironmakers used a wide array of technologies to manufacture iron products.

Magnetic Properties and Workability of Fe-Si Alloy Powder Cores

  • Fe-6.5% Si alloys have good magnetic properties due to their high electrical resistivity, very low magneto-striction, and low crystalline anisotropy. Despite their strong potential, these alloys have seldom been used in magnetic applications because of the very poor ductility of Si-steel above 3.0 wt% Si [1-4]. It is difficult to achieve compressed Fe-6.5% Si powder cores with excellent properties because of the low density due to poor ductility. In compressed powder cores, high density is essential in order to obtain high magnetization and permeability. In this study, an attempt was made to produce Fe-3%Si powder cores because the Fe-3.0 wt% Si alloys have relatively good magnetic properties and room temperature ductility. Gas atomized Fe-3.0 wt% Si powder was compressed into toroid shape cores. By reducing the Si content to 3.0 wt%, the hysteresis loss could be greatly reduced and thus the total core loss could be minimized. The total core loss is 600 mW/$cm^3$ at 0.1 T and 50 kHz.

음이온 교환막 수전해용 Fe-Ni-Pt 나노촉매 제조 및 특성 (Preparation and Characterization of Fe-Ni-Pt Nanocatalyst for Anion Exchange Membrane in Alkaline Electrolysis)

  • Fe-Ni-Pt nanocatalysts were loaded on carbon black powders which were synthesized by a spontaneous reduction reaction of iron (II) acetylacetonate, nickel (II) acetylacetonate and platinum (II) acetylacetonate. The morphology and the loading weight of Fe-Ni-Pt nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analyzer. The amount of Fe-Ni-Pt catalyst supported on the carbon black surface was about 6.42-9.28 wt%, and the higher the Fe content and the lower the Pt content, the higher the total amount of the metal catalyst supported. The Brunauer-Emmett-Teller Analysis (BET) specific surface area of carbon black itself without metal nanoparticles supported was 233.9 m2/g, and when metal nanoparticles were introduced, the specific surface area value was greatly reduced. This is because the metal nanocatalyst particles block the pore entrance of the carbon black, and thereby the catalytic activity of the metal catalysts generated inside the pores is reduced. From the I-V curves, as the content of the Pt nanocatalyst increased, the electrolytic properties of water increased, and the activity of the metal nanocatalyst was in the order of Pt > Ni > Fe.

LED광의 파장을 달리하여 재배한 새송이버섯의 식품기능적 특성 (Food Functional Properties of Pleurotus eryngii Cultivated with Different Wavelength of LED Lights)

  • LED광의 파장을 달리하여 재배한 새송이버섯의 식품기능적 특성과 무기질 및 유리아미노산의 함량을 분석하였다. 총 가용성 고형분의 함량은 청적, 청녹, 적녹 혼합광을 제외한 모든 구에서 대조구에 비해 유의적으로 높게 나타났다. 유리아미노산 분석 결과, 31종의 아미노산이 검출되었으며 총 유리아미노산은 대조구에서 함량이 다소 높게 나타났으나 8종 필수 아미노산의 함량은 청색광을 포함한 모든 구(Blue, $B^*R$ $B^*G$, $B^*R^*G^*U$) 및 녹색광에서 재배한 구에서 대조구보다 높게 나타났다. 아미노산 중 arginine, glutamic acid, alanine, ornithine, lysine 등의 순으로 함량이 높았으며, ${\beta}$-alanine, ${\beta}$-aminoisobutyric acid, 1-methylhistidine, citrulline 등은 낮은 함량을 나타내었다. 새송이버섯의 무기질은 K이 대부분을 차지하였고, Na, Mg, Ca, Fe의 순으로 그 함량이 높았으며 Mn의 함량이 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났다. Ca은 청색광을 제외한 모든 LED 처리구에서 대조구보다 그 함량이 유의적으로 증가하였으며, Fe은 녹색광과 청적 혼합광, K은 적색광과 UV-A, Mg은 적색광, UV-A, 적녹 혼합광에서 함량 증진이 나타났다. 총 페놀 함량은 청색광, 적색광, 녹색광, 청적 및 청녹 혼합광에서, DPPH radical 소거능은 적녹 혼합광을 제외한 모든 구에서 대조구보다 유의적으로 높은 것으로 나타났다.

Nutritional value and antioxidant potential of lemon seed and sprout

  • High amounts of lemon seeds are discarded as by-products of processing industries. It is important to find some measures, whereby they could be used in value-added ways. Although few studies have been conducted on lemon seed oils, no study has been conducted on the nutrient content of lemon seed sprouts. The objective of this study was to investigate the nutritional value and antioxidant potential of lemon seeds and sprouts. The 1,1-diphenly-2-picrylhydrazyl radical-scavenging potential, total polyphenol, and total free amino acid content were higher in the sprouts than in the seeds. Similarly, the content of such mineral elements as Fe, Na, and Zn, increased with germination. However, salicylic acid and total mineral content were lower in the sprouts than in the seeds. The results indicate that lemon seeds and sprouts could be regarded as high-value materials in food and cosmetic industries.

인삼근 적변현상과 근권 토양환경 (Red-Colored Phenomena of Ginseng(Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer) Root and Soil Environment)

  • In order to elucidate the mechanism of red-colored phenomena(RCP) in ginseng(Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer), distribution of inorganic elements of ginseng root and its surrounding soil, and microflora in the soil were investigated. Red brown colored-substances were accumulated in the cell wall of epidermis at early stage of red-colored ginseng (RCG). Cell wall of the late stage of RCG was disordered and microorganisms were shown in the disordered cell wall. Al, Si and Fe contents among inorpanic elements in the epidermis of RCG were higher at two or three times than that of healthy ginseng. On the other hand, K content was higher at three times in healthy ginseng than that of RCG. Especially, Fe content was higher at three times in lateral roots of RCG than that of healthy ginseng. Total 21 strains of microorganisms were isolated on the 523 medium from surface soil, surrounding soil of both healthy and RCG, and RCG. Six strains of microorganisms among them were resistant to 2 mM Fe. Two species in Bacillus app. and Lactobacillus app. , and one species in Micrococcus sp. and Npisseria sp. respectively were identified. It seemed that RCP was closely related with the distribution and uptake of inorganic elements, was also correlated Fe-independent metabolism of microorganisms.

결착제를 달리한 순대의 성분에 관한 연구 (Effects of Binding Materials on Nutrients of Soondae)

  • 본 논문에서 돈혈을 사용한 순대와 돈혈을 혈장과 난백으로 대체한 순대의 성분 분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 돈혈을 15% 첨가한 순대의 일반성분은 수분 66.1%, 단백질 9.2%, 지방 10.4%, 회분 0.9%, 섬유소 0.5%, 탄수화물 12.7%였으며 Atwater계수로 환산한 총 칼로리는 181.92kcal/100g였다. 그러나 순대에 혈장을 대체함에 따라 163.78kcal/g으로 총 칼로리의 감소 효과를 나타냈으며 난백 첨가에 따라 총 칼로리가 230.77kcal/g으로 증가하였다. (2) 무기질은 돈혈 첨가 순대에서 Fe 함량이 8.50 mg%으로 우수한 철분 함유 식품이었으며 돈혈장, 난백 대체 비율 증가에 따라 Fe, Na, K의 함량이 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 그러나 Ca, P, Mg 함량은 시료군에 따라 유의적인 차이가 없었다. (3) 순대에서의 아미노산은 glutamic acid, leucine, lysine, glycine, alanine의 함량이 많았고 methionine, cysteine의 함량이 적었다. (4) 지방산은 palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid. linoleic acid가 전체 지방산의 89.5∼93.5%를 차지하였다. 순대에서 돈혈장과 난백의 대체는 불포화/포화지방 산비와 다가불포화/포화지방산 비를 증가시키는 바람직한 영향을 주었다. 콜레스테롤 함량은 control인 혈액순대가 66.6 mg이었으나 혈장과 난백을 대체함으로써 각각 25.7%, 36.9%의 콜레스테롤 함량 저하 효과를 보였다.

Orthosiphon pallidus, a Potential Treatment for Patients with Breast Cancer

  • Objective: Orthosiphon pallidus (O. pallidus), which belongs to the Lamiaceae family, is a popular garden plant that is widely used for the treatment of various diseases, such as urinary lithiasis, fever, hepatitis, cancer and jaundice. The objective of the present work was to investigate the antioxidant free-radical scavenging and the anticancer activities of O. pallidus against human breast-cancer cell lines. Methods: The antioxidant activity of Orthosiphon pallidus aqueous extract (OPAE) was investigated using different models, such as the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and the 2, 2'-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) models, as were the $Fe^+$ chelation, the hydroxyl radical and superoxide radical scavenging, and total reducing power activities. The anticancer activities of the extract were determined by using the 3-(4, 5- dimethylthiazolyl-2)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) and the sulforhodamine (SRB) assays on the MCF-7 and the MDA-MB-231 cancer cell lines. Results: The aqueous Orthosiphon pallidus extract showed potent activity in in-vitro models. It significantly inhibited the scavenging of hydroxyl and superoxide radicals, but induced a remarkable $Fe^+$ chelation activity. For both cell lines, the percent cytotoxicity was found to increase steadily with increasing OPAE concentration up to $240{\mu}g/mL$. Conclusion: These results suggest that Orthosiphon pallidus has excellent antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticancer activities against human breast-cancer cell lines.
