  • This study attempted to investigate the factors affecting financial status of the rural middle-aged and old-aged household. The results shelved that the significant variables which influenced on the probability of financial security measured by consumption to income ratio were sex and education level of the household head, family size, total income, total expenditure and total assets. The most influential variables on the probability of financial security measured by liquidity ratio was liquid assets, and total assets. Education level of the household head. liquid assets, total assets, and total debt had significant effects on the probability of financial security estimated by debt burden ratio. Among the economic variables, only liquid asset had significant negative effects on the probability of financial security assessed by the capital stock ratio.

  • Recently Korean enterprises that branch out into China have been continuously increased to achieve diverse objectives such as personnel expenses reduction, market share extension on China and globalization strategy implementation. We have studied about competitiveness reinforcement of enterprises that branch out into China in terms of TPM(Total Production Management). In this paper, we extended the concept of traditional TPM(Total Productive Maintenance) to TPM(Total Production Management) that covers extensively the concept of total management innovation activities. We explored detailed activities of TPM and voluntarily participative field research circle. Also, We suggested some prerequisite conditions for TPM settlement that might be recommended for the foreign companies in China and checked Key Performance Indicator(KPI) that could be useful to confirm how TPM contributed to enterprise competitiveness reinforcement.

  • In this study, we determined lipid content, total fatty acid composition, trans fatty acid(tFA) content, and acid value of twenty black-bean-sauce noodles collected in Seoul city area. Total lipid contents of twenty samples were determined to be 3.33~9.23% on wet base. Total unsaturated fatty acids were from 47.83% to 83.18%(mainly oleic and linoleic acid). Total saturated fatty acids ranged from 16.06% to 51.48%. Besides, tFA contents in total lipid of samples were ranged from 0.38% to 1.39%, equivalent to 20 to 80mg per 100g of black-bean-sauce noodles. Acid values of lipids extracted from samples ranged from 0.56 to 2.88.

  • Red ginseng was extracted with water and analyzed for yield, saponin, pectin and other chemical composition. It was found that: (1) The total solid content in extract after 6 times of extraction was 46.8%,: including 13.6% of centrifugal residue; (2) 83.7% of total extractable solids and 86% total saponin was extracted after the initial three runs of extraction. (3) No significant changes were observed in HPLC pattern of extracted saponins over a range of extractions; (4) The ratio of centrifugal residue to total solids increased as the number of extractions increased; (5) The ratios of fat, protein, reducing sugar and pectin contents decreased with repeating extraction while those of crude fiber, total sugar and 35% alcohol insoluble residue increased when they were compared with total solids.

  • This paper presents a procedure for the design optimization of a centrifugal compressor. The centrifugal compressor consists of a centrifugal impeller, vaneless diffuser and volute. And, optimization techniques based on the radial basis neural network method are used to optimize the impeller of a centrifugal compressor. The Latin-hypercube sampling of design-of-experiments is used to generate the thirty design points within design spaces. Three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with the shear stress transport turbulence model are discretized by using finite volume approximations and solved on hexahedral grids to evaluate the objective function of the total-to-total pressure ratio. Four variables defining the impeller hub and shroud contours are selected as design variables in this optimization. The results of optimization show that the total-to-total pressure ratio of the optimized shape at the design flow coefficient is enhanced by 2.46% and the total-to-total pressure ratios at the off-design points are also improved significantly by the design optimization.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the physiological activity of acai berry (Euterpe oleracea Mart.) extracts from three different solvents (water, methanol, and ethanol). We measured total polyphenol and total flavonoid content, DPPH radical scavenging activity, nitrite scavenging activity, metal chelating effect, and reducing power. The extraction yield from water, methanol, and ethanol was 17.10, 9.50, and 37.51%, respectively. The highest total polyphenol content (10.54 mg/100 g) and total flavonoid contents (1.88 mg/100 g) was observed in water extract. DPPH radical scavenging activity was the highest in both water extract (72.03%) and methanol extract (74.79%) at levels of 5 mg/mL, which was similar to that of BHT (78.90%). Water extract yielded the highest metal chelating effect (92.54%) and reducing power (1.09) at levels of 5 mg/mL. Taken together, these findings suggest that extracts of acai berry can be used as functional food materials with antioxidative and nitrite scavenging activities.

  • This study examined the insolvency likelihood of young debtors from the 2018 Household Financial and Welfare Survey. This study used the Household Default Risk Index (HDRI), which considers the ratio of total debt to total assets (DTA), and a total debt service ratio (DSR) to examine the insolvency level of debtors. The descriptive analyses showed no difference in frequency of households with a high probability of insolvency between those less than 35 years of age and those over 35 years of age. However, the median HDRI value for those less than 35 years of age was higher than those over 35 years of age. The multivariate analyses indicated that educational expenses for young Korean debtors was a factor that increased their probability of insolvency, while income was the only variable that decreased their insolvency likelihood.

  • Let G be a (p, q) graph. Let $f:V(G){\rightarrow}\{1,2,{\ldots},k\}$ be a map where $k{\in}{\mathbb{N}}$ and k > 1. For each edge uv, assign the label gcd(f(u), f(v)). f is called k-Total prime cordial labeling of G if ${\mid}t_f(i)-t_f(j){\mid}{\leq}1$, $i,j{\in}\{1,2,{\ldots},k\}$ where $t_f$(x) denotes the total number of vertices and the edges labelled with x. A graph with a k-total prime cordial labeling is called k-total prime cordial graph. In this paper we investigate the 4-total prime cordial labeling of some graphs.

  • This study analyzed the antioxidant contents and activities of the pedicel and sepals from 12 colored cherry tomatoes ('Green Joy', 'TY Item', 'Dotori Red TY', 'TY Sispen', 'KT Orange TY', 'White Joy TY', 'Dotori Norang TY', 'Beta Tiny', 'Blacklin', 'KT Red TY', 'KT Norang TY', 'Black Joy 200') for their potential use as bioactive ingredients. 'Green Joy' had a significantly higher content of total flavonoids (92.55±3.20 mg CE/100 g FW), total phenolics (261.94±8.32 mg GAE/100 g FW), and total antioxidant activity than the other varieties. The main polyphenols were rutin, chlorogenic acid, and methyl gallate. For all 12 samples, the total flavonoids content was highly correlated with the total phenolics content and the total antioxidant activities. Non-edible parts of cherry tomato have high potential as functional food materials because they contain similar or more antioxidants and antioxidant properties than the pulp of tomato and cherry tomato or other fruits.

  • Let G be a graph. Let f : V (G) → {0, 1, 2, …, k-1} be a map where k ∈ ℕ and k > 1. For each edge uv, assign the label |f(u) - f(v)|. f is called k-total difference cordial labeling of G if |tdf (i) - tdf (j) | ≤ 1, i, j ∈ {0, 1, 2, …, k - 1} where tdf (x) denotes the total number of vertices and the edges labeled with x. A graph with admits a k-total difference cordial labeling is called k-total difference cordial graphs. In this paper we investigate the 4-total difference cordial labeling behaviour of shell butterfly graph, Lilly graph, Shackle graphs etc..
